Absolutely horrible service! I've been banking here for years the staff used to be decent and educated. Now they are illetrate and have no knowledge how to serve a client! Beware before you go do business with Scotiabank Westney heights plaza.

I would rather stash my money in my mattress then to deal with this bank. If you like stress, anxiety and grief then this bank is for you. The staff has no clue as to what they’re doing, they don’t return your calls and as far as I’m concerned, they’re all entry level students. Do yourself a favour…go elsewhere.

This is my home branch and I’ve been going here for the last 10 years. Most of the time, I have a good experience. There have been long wait times and poor customer service occasionally, but no more than any other bank.

However, I was really disappointed the last time I went. I wanted to exchange money to AUD and was told it couldn’t be done. I was told by several workers to go to a currency exchange institution for a better rate. Even after I insisted, they told me ordering AUD for pick up was not available.

I was fine with that, until I found out the exchange rate is actually worse at those FX companies. So this Scotiabank location both refused to complete the service and gave me false advice.

This branch has the worst customer service. I have been a customer at this branch for over 7 years, and I have noticed over time they have become increasingly unhelpful.
Their employees are not properly trained to answer questions correctly. Guyana is very rude, she gave me incorrect information multiple times for a very serious case, and trains her employees to do so as well. She takes no ownership for providing incorrect information multiple times, and each manager will take her side despite being in the wrong. The service will never get better as they won’t hire employees who are able to learn Scotiabank policies at a basic level.
Do yourself a favour and save any future troubles by simply banking with the TD across the street. They’re employees go above and beyond to help their customers.

So with Friday being a stat holiday do I have to wait until Monday (or Tuesday) to receive my pension transfer. Most banks process these on weekends & holidays, but NOT scotia. How much interest do they steal from customers with this policy.

I visited this branch in early April 2022 to handle a line of credit issue, and though it was a very confusing and complicated matter, Rae from the front desk was outstanding. She literally left the area where she works, followed me to the teller, and stood with him the entire time until my matter was resolved. Great job Rae! Because of you, a very complicated and confusing issue was handled.

I would honest give it zero stars if I could! The front desk lady was compassionate and tried to find a solution, as for the tellers don’t get me started. Ever time I’ve gone into this branch AVOID Syed! Has no customer service skills nor understanding of his own job, I’ve heard one thing from him that he’s unable to help and do anything in branch, yet I got back into line and asked another teller and they fixed the issue within minutes what’s the point of paying a monthly banking fee when you can’t even get assistance when you need it! Going to another location in the short term and DEFINITELY going to TD in the long term.

I am not a client at Scotia bank client and never will be, however my boyfriend is. He had lost his debit card, drove an hour out of the way to get a new one (he had lost his wallet with ID, but did have a picture of his ID along with a Scotia Visa card) he was told they can not help him at all, he has to go to his branch in Peterborough. I am TD client and I have lost my card in different provinces and not once have I been treated so poorly by staff. We had a 4 month old in the car and no gas to get home, we we’re not expecting to be so mistreated. We unfortunately had to get a friend to meet us an hour away to help us for the night. So if anyone with Scotia bank has ever been mistreated this way, TD is a super amazing bank! And does everything they can to help their clients.

Terrible experience. I tried to open up a bank account for my son and they gave me wrong information- he shows up for his appointment and they turned him away. I’m so dissatisfied with this experience - I will NEVER open an account here and I will tell everyone I know please don’t. Shame on you.

2 tellers, 6 in line, each person taking 30 minutes.manager fully saw the line and how long ppl are waiting but still went out to buy lunch. Visit harwood south instead. Complete joke waiting over an hr to deposit and make a payment.

Horrible service, had to line up to speak to a teller, they didn't know how to help me and told me someone called "Jason" was going to call me back and to go home and wait. Jason never called me back, my situation still persists, I tried calling the branch with dial-by-name feature, it can't locate anyone called "Jason" there. I tried to ask for branch manager, and due to call volume, the queue wait time was over 10 minutes. Going in circles for weeks. Stay away from this place.

One star is for Natasha for not trying to keep my new immigrant wife's account at this location. Finally after finding work during the Covid-19 my wife started her first job in Canada. When my wife was getting high service charges totaling $55.00 + for two months we went in to inquire and we were told by Natasha her account only allows 12 debit card uses per month which then she would be charged each time she uses it thereafter. She was not informed properly or when she signed up for her new account about the service charges. We told her she cannot afford these kind of charges on minimum wage and we would have to cancel her account. So instead of trying to resolve her account by offering her a credit or offering her another type of account that would better suit her financially she just nonchalantly without a care to lose our business quickly closed her account and we left. Before signing off I want to be clear. This bank otherwise and everyone else has been very nice to my wife and this rating doesn't reflect Scotiabank as a whole nor does it reflect any others at this location. Its just sad that Natasha would let a customer go so quickly instead of trying to save my wife's potentially long term relationship with them. Its employees like her that give a bad name to the bank. Subsequently we are looking for a new bank and have learned a valuable lesson.

Worst bank ever.walked in to this branch one day and I was the only one standing in the line. 3 ladys having a personal chat totally ignoring me.took about 8 minutes to talk to me reluctantly.never ever go back to this bank ever again.

Not a very customer-friendly bank! You have to make repeat visits and phone calls to get what you need taken care of. They're full of excuses why they didn't do what they were supposed to or said they would. If you owe them money, they are very eager to get it and make numerous phone calls and send numerous letters and put a lot of effort into getting their money. If they owe you money though, it's like every phone call is new and they have no idea what you're talking about.

Ive experienced shady customer service on phone and in person. No one returns calls. Thats after leaving numerous messages both on phone and in person. They have teens as advisers who make mistakes then dont follow up to fix them. Customer service on phone will say one thing then branch in person says the opposite. Confusing for the customer. Ive had a couple easy transactions in person as well. I think better training and follow up would make this location a 3 or 4 star branch.

My 1 star is for Aleta and Aleta only.
Everyone else at that bank is excellent, as a young person I had no issues, always so kind and treated me like I mattered.
Aleta, lacks professionalism, compassion and she frankly does not care about her clients.
She does not reply to emails, she straight up ignores you and isn’t even really apologetic about it.
To top it all off.
She does follow through with what she says she is going to do AT ALL. Regardless of if there was a deadline that she knew about in advance.
I’m going to assume Aleta treated me this way because I’m young and she probably better things to do, so cheers to you Aleta!

Susie Spirkoski Is the most PATHETIC & USELESS MANAGER I have ever come across. She hides in her office trying to be a hero behind closed doors when she can’t even resolve a simple issue. Do yourself a favour avoid this branch. When her own teller reps speak bad about her to customers that’s when you know she’s disliked by everyone. For gods sake how she has a job still baffles my mind ton of the reviews on here are all about her. I hope Scotia somehow someway sees this and FIRES her. Won’t ever even bother stepping into this branch ever again!

It is really sad that a highly reputable bank like Scotia hires such financial advisors who aren't taking their jobs seriously! I made the mistake of dealing with this branch because I couldn't get an appt.with my home branch sooner enough. All I needed was for them to tell me whether I would be approved for a line of credit or not. AND believe it or not! It took them a month to get back to me with an answer! After like contacting them 10 times and asking for an answer! LIKE FOR REAL!? I can't believe I stayed with this bank for over 16 years! They do absolutely NOTHING for their customers when they are in need! AND Talk about loyalty! *IN SHORT, DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR & DEAL WITH A NEIGHBOURING BANK FOR BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE & FUTURE INVESTMENTS* - YOU WILL THANK ME IN THE FUTURE!
P. S. OH AND DID I MENTION! THE MANAGERS ARE USELESS!

ABM's are constantly out of service, now the deposit envelope slots have been empty at multiple machines over the last few days, today theres none so no one can deposit unless I want to walk 2 miles to the next nearest one.
