I had to close my old debit account due to fraudulent activity and open a new one to make my mortgage payments. The financial officer was 15 minutes late for the meeting, during those 15 minutes he was talking to a woman with nametag who went behind the clerk counter afterwards. He also took a personal call 5 minutes into our meeting. He also did not help get me set up on the mobile app, which I needed an employee to assist with because my account was flagged for fraud as discussed above. So, I had to call into the call centre and wait on hold. This was a disrespectful waste of time for me. It should not take an hour to set up a new account, plus the time it took to go to this branch that didn't fully process my request. The financial officer I was given refused to send the form off to change what account my mortgage comes out of. Instead, he insisted I go to another city to do it at my home branch.

One of the worst customer service for any scotia branch. We had appointment for today and the stupid receptionist was talking to their personal client who had no appointment and wasted our half an hour. Advisor refused to see is saying we were late. I highly suggest that you go to different branch. Completely stupid service. I don’t want to put the name on review but this was extremely unacceptable.

Great Experience! First time going to eastown branch for the lost debit car replacement and the service provided was really smooth and informative. PAZIRA was the teller who provided the excellent service which made up my mind to put up a five star review.

Manager was talking rudely, the staff was not cooperating when I initiated a draft deposit. I did not face any such issues in couple of other bank accounts I hold.

One of their ABM took my deposit of $180. There was a deposit error. I had to wait 2 weeks for them to fix the problem and only credited me for $60. Then they told me there was nothing more they could do. Literal thieves.

Absolutely the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PHONE AND IN PERSON.they don't train their employees for basic stuff. I called their CUSTOMER SERVICE a week ago to block my stollen credit card and they said they would do it and send me a new card but apparently they didn't. My Card STILL WORKS ONLINE AND PURCHASES HAVE BEEN MADE. They need to train better employees. I WILL CLOSE MY CARD AS SOON AS I CAN GET TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST COMPANY.

The absolute worst bank to bank with, they’re hold times are a joke, the call centre gets absolutely nothing done AT ALL! My interact etransfer hasn’t been working sine I opened my account and im unable to get connected to someone who can tell me whats going on, i would suggest td, they have the best customer care. And Scotiabank doesn’t take their customers serious enough. Not to mention they will have u on the phone for over an hour for nothing to be resolved, not only that… but the branch managers don’t answer nor do they return calls. The absolute worst banking experience in my life.

The manager was rude and they failed to provide me a simple bank statement. I am rethinking to do banking with Scotia. I never imagined that a branch will fail to provide me with a statement. Then I went to the manager, he is like you have the access in your account online and you have it there, why did you come to the branch? ! That was ridiculous, I needed my bank statement stamped and they failed to give me that.

My experience with this branch and specially with Sumanthi Navendran was terrible. She made feel so helpless and didn't even had the courtesy to listen to my concern. She could have easily guided me or helped me out but was very unprofessional. I wouldn't ever recommend.

Worst experience ever. Sumanthi Navendran is very rude and unhelpful. I just wanted a new card as my card was expiring soon and I was going to travel. She was just not ready to help or listen. This was my first and last time visiting this branch. All thanks to Sumanthi.

In my humble, opinion, they are dangerous. When they force, elderly, sick, people, to come into branch, when it's not necessary and can be sorted out by phone. /mail. Their expected to stay, in line 1/2 hour, in cold. Then go inside. These are my strong opinions.

Yet another horrible Scotiabank branch. They have a reception desk with nobody behind it. I’ve been standing here for 10 mins and nobody has acknowledged my existence. Do yourself a favour and don’t bank here if you need to talk to a human being.

You try calling and only get VM is full and cannot leave a message - You contact the contact centre as requested and they cannot help either and trans you to VM which are full and cannot leave messages - You get the run around every time you need assistance by phone. No help whatsover.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. Absolute trash and disappointing. Im a new scotiabank customer and at my own home branch location they have AMAZING customer service. AMAZING! But i come here for the first time and they just want to argue with you and tell you NO to your face. So I just go to my own location and they did what I had asked them to do in little as 3-4 minutes. I will never forget ur trash customer service. Do yourself a favour and not go to this branch. Other branches have way better customer service. So ashamed. If you don't wanna help me and lie to my face and say you cannot do it then why work? Dont waste my money and time.

Not worth the time and don’t expect customer service. Branch Manager is never around. I don’t know why or how Scotiabank pays the branch manager for not coming to work. He just fake promises you that he is gonna do anything if you bring any unethical practice to his attention, but he doesn’t do anything. Assistant branch manager, Jovan, doesn’t seem to know what to do. She runs around so that it may seem she is doing something but actually she doesn’t do anything. She doesn’t follows up, call or email you. Advisors can mess up your information in bank database, which you cannot back up later. An advisor asked me that he can put any number as my monthly income as it doesn’t matter so that he can increase my credit limit on card. THIS PRACTICE IS ILLEGAL IN CANADA.
Most important, advisors doesn’t seem to follow LAW/LEGISLATION about customer due diligence. Advisors do unauthorized credit checks on you and if you report that you didn’t give any consent, they refuse to accept their mistake. If you report it, they don’t let Equifax or TransUnion know to remove that unauthorized credit check from your credit report.
I had to complain about this branch to Scotiabank’s President office. President’s office investigated, removed the unauthorized credit check and found this branch incompetent and told me that they will coach the advisor and branch management in question. I don’t know if they will coach them or not.
It’s in best interest of every customer to AVOID THIS BRANCH! If this branch is your domicile branch, change right away!

Worst branch in the Scotiabank network. Went in to deposit a certified cheque drawn on a lawyer's trust account. I was told that the cheque had to be placed on a hold. What is the point of certifying a cheque if it needs to be placed on hold? Spoke with the manager and the teller and they clearly did not understand the concept of certifying a cheque. They did not offer to call the certifying branch to confirm the authenticity of the cheque (which is the proper procedure). I wish I could give this branch 0 stars. I will be moving all accounts and my mortgage to a bank that knows what it is doing. Sad to say I used to work for Scotiabank.

My account was closed without my consent from this branch. I had an issue with them roughly 2 weeks ago and my account was on hold I had to clear it up in person and with multiple phone calls to the number on the card as well as the branches responsible and nobody was able to give me a reason. I looked online to check the balance on Tuesday and after service fees came out I was -0.09. Then I checked this morning because my pay from work is direct deposit and I no longer have a checking account. I called the number on the back of the card and was not given an explication aside from this branch closed the account without notifying me or me requesting to close the account or giving them consent to close the account especially before I was able to transfer my account for direct deposit with my company. I have had multiple issues with multiple branches and am done with Scotiabank. The visit I make today to inquire about this situation will be my last visit to a Scotiabank and I recommend others go with TD for better service and hours or any other bank really.

My personal experience has been satisfactory. But, Scotia Bank needs to revisit hours of operation to be competitive.
