My experience with Scotia Bank's false hope regarding the American Express card was disappointing and time-wasting. The countless hours I dedicated to online research and the valuable time I squandered waiting for a Scotiabank representative to engage with me only exacerbated my frustration with the entire American Express card ordeal. The promises made during scotiachat did not align with the actual outcome. This experience has underscored the importance of efficient and respectful customer service, qualities that I now seek in my pursuit of better alternatives at other banks.

I went to Scotiabank from one of the competitors 8 years ago and have not regretted a second of it. Since I do 95% of my bank work online, and their online experience is miles better than what I had, I am not very affected of how the branch office work but I have always felt welcome here.

They are always friendly and good, I have been banking with them for 16 yrs. There are times when it is busy, as with any bank.

Absolutely out of this world service.
I cannot explain enough how outstanding the service is at this branch.

I live on the other side of Burlington and go to this branch because of the people.

Come here if you want a friendly local branch that will also help you make decisions and are willing to sit down and help you understand your banking.

Great credit cards, great rates, great accounts.
Definitely recommend this branch for both casual and serious banking!

Teller are nice, however can't help you even with pre-approved lines of credit, and dont go in without an appointment. How you're supposed to book said appointment is beyond me. You CANNOT reach this branch by phone. Wait times ALL WEEK on the 'call centre' have been longer than 45 minutes. I waited 48 minutes on hold only to be disconnected. Terrible service. I'm thinking of switching banks. I need to pick up funds for a large purchase and wanted to schedule, can't get through to anyone. I'm so frustrated!

They never answer voicemails or phone calls. Worst customer service

The new management at this branch are the rudest people I’ve met, don’t even listen to your questions like a human just answer with the policy like a robot.

I started coming to this branch two years ago when I was living in the neighbourhood. Ever since my first visit with Barb, I knew I was in good hands. Having moved cities, I am still planning on coming back to see Mrs. Osborne! Great financial advice, exemplary customer service, and a friendly staff at the branch. Highly recommend!

The last time I went to scotiabank I had to deal with a rude teller (she was downright hostile). I set up 2 kids accounts (this went well) with a financial advisor. However the financial advisor then sent me over to the rudest teller I have ever dealt with. She was supposed to close 2 savings accounts that I had set up for the kids previously. I previously recieved bad advise from scotiabank who recommended i set up adult savings accounts for the kids money however i couldn't put them in the kids names. The second savings account was opened less then a month before this visit. I recieved new advice later when i had to go to the bank after opening my son's account because I wanted to put it in his name, like I thought my daughter's account already was. That's when they explained about the kids acounts. Anyway when i went to the teller to transfer the kids savings into the new kids accounts and close the savings accounts she acted like it was such hard work and I was asking her to do to much. She charged me $25 in fees. I was so angry i wanted to close all my accounts with Scotiabank right there and then. But i was with my kids and tired after waiting for an hour to get the kids accounts set up.

The financial advisor was really nice and it was the only good part of the time i spent at Scotiabank. So i made an appointment to speak with her about renewing my mortgage. However she called to reschedule because she wasn't free. I missed her call but called and emailed suggesting another day; however she emailed me after the suggested day appologizing for missing it. I emailed her again suggesting another day and time. This time I did not hear back. No call and no attempt to reschedule.

I am not very impressed with scotiabank right now.

There was also another big incident that happened with regards to my son's RESP a few years ago but it's too long of a story to type and it happened at a different branch.

Had a STEP payout take more than it should have (timestamped acceptance and payout received by branch June 30 2021 but only processed on our account a week later) so their SB system kicked it back to us as outstanding interest for the extra days the process took. Calls to branch and bank and it's all resolved now, although 2 months and 2 subsequent statements later - so for that reason it's 4 stars instead of 5. Our Advisor, Barb Osborne, and Scotiabank Management were a great help. If you have any problems, give them a chance (or chances) to resolve it, especially during these trying times. Thanks Barb!

Since moving to Burlington, this branch has been fantastic. Khurram, my financial Advisor, has been instrumental in helping to manage my financials on my rental properties through thoughtful strategies on rates, amortization timeframes and lines of credit. Its rare these days to be able to build and foster a relationship with a branch.so I cant say enough how happy I am to have found a branch that values my business!

Scotia Bank on Brant St.has been my home branch for many years and I have always enjoyed great personal service from my Financial Advisors. Khurram Hassan has been extremely helpful and takes the time to review everything thoroughly and make recommendations to reduce costs and improve overall investment strategy.

I recently moved back to the area, and am delighted the service I received from this branch and in particular my advisor, Khurram Hasam. He's been incredibly knowledgeable, attentive to my needs, and provides exceptional personal service. He's already saved me a lot of money and helped me access benefits I did not even know existed. I've never received service like this before at a bank. The rest of the bank staff I've dealt with have been a pleasure as well. Adam

This branch is our home branch and we have been thrilled with the advice and assistance that we have received over the last 10 years and particularly the service and level of detail from our new advisor, Khurram Hassan. He has identified the right products and facilitated the transactions to ensure we pay the least interest on lending vehicles and obtain the highest interest on short term deposits. Amazing responsiveness, great ideas, and tenacious follow-up. Keep up the great work and we will be forever clients, even though we no longer live in Burlington. Our experience has not been so much with the tellers, even though they have always been helpful too. Thanks

The worst customer service. Tellers don’t know the answers to the basic questions.
I asked about Tax-Free Savings Account and was told that Scotiabank is not giving any interest on money in T-FSA, that my benefit is not paying taxes.
He should get a Christmas Bonus from CIBC for “sending” customers there.

Horrible customer service, went to this branch today to deal with my father in laws estate, as he passed away. Spoke with a teller and requested to see a financial adviser, the teller went to ask the financial adviser if he could see us and we could hear him say to her, I don't feel like doing a walk in, they can make an appointment. Teller comes back to tell us they are book up today and that we can make an appointment.
Edit: Received a call from the Branch assistant manager and she was happy to help us and had us come in to her office today and was extremely helpful.

The staff are so friendly and helpful each time I visit this branch. Waiting time is very reasonable and very easy to do personal banking, even without appointment. I feel your banking with them is greatly appreciated and your time there is very respected. I really appreciate Shannon L, she is so patient and provides so much useful information for our investment. And Scotiabank does offer better products than other banks, such as bonus Momentum Plus Savings (Currently at rate of 3.2% interest) and special rate GICs (2.65% for 18months)
