After waiting in line for almost 20 minutes, to get some USD$, I was asked if I pre-ordered it in advance. Huh? I couldn't even get a $1 u.s. Bill. How does one PRE-ORDER u.s. Currency? Does one need to wait on hold with your call-centre for 30 minutes? Having no U. S. $ is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard from a bank lol
09 January 2024 15:37
The stupidest bank tellers I've ever been too. Half have their finger up their butt and the others believe scammers over the card owner then try to steal your hard earned money. Don't recommend Scotia to anyone

Incompetent staff, arrogant manager. Wish Scotia send them to BMO across the street to learn banking and how to treat a customer.

It was a pleasant experience with my banking transaction (for my rental) in this branch and the person by the counter Ms. J was able to assist me with my banking needs efficiently.
Thank you very much.

Worst customer service I have ever had in any bank they had the Nerve to tell me that I couldn't take money out of my bank because they didn't have the funds really you're a bank! Needless to say i took all my money out and my retirement fund and switch to another bank.

Scotiabank is a terrible establishment. Their employees are not helpful in a timely manner, their phone service and customer service are absolutely abysmal. Paid off my mortgage and then 3 days later they took $2500 out of my account because they "forgot" to discharge the loan! Terrible.

I wish I can give zero stars horrible experience the waiting time was so long almost an hour we went there to make pay cheque but the advisor Aisha I think they don’t have zero experience they should learn how to serve the customer better next time I recommend not to visit there

Very disappointed with this location. I was trying to conduct some year end payroll for my business and the branch Manager Brian Dempsey was verbally and physically abusive towards me. I have never been threatened like this in a bank by staff before. I will be taking my services elsewhere.

Just list to the slight buzz of the radio & the slightly dim lights I’m sure you will leave with a migraine or headache. Staff are awesome though.

I was at this location today and saw a manager or whoever he was, Brian Dempsey Scotia bank Huron and Highbury Ave London, helping a ooor man who was in obvious pain and couldn’t walk well. He walked him to the door and offered to assist him further. There needs to be more kind people like him in the world!
04 February 2023 19:37
Worst banking service that I ever got, I went their to close my account and they were asking me to pay service charge to close the account I have never used.
14 January 2023 17:15
This branch doesn't not have qualified people at all.the tellers working there are not been trained properly, so their behavior was so rude and unprofessional.
The head office should take of these issues, otherwise they are going to loose their customers
12 January 2023 12:28
Michael (teller) an Densey Juman were very helpful and respectful at this branch, unlike my horrible experince at the Masonville branch under the management of Joanne Teller. I just mentioned this for customers to avoid the Masonville branch and you don't have to take my word and just read their reviews.

The rep on the phone blocked my account because i couldn’t answer his *very* unclear questions that contained too much bank jargon when I was trying to temporarily raise my debit card limit. I’ve raised my limit before and never had this issue. I have an English Degree and yet I couldn’t understand what information the rep was asking me for.

I’m highly disappointed that this had to happen on the one day of the year that I’m allowed to use my holiday discount for my workplace. If i didn’t have a backup method of paying for things outside of my scotiabank accounts, that phone rep would’ve easily ruined the holidays for me and my entire family who were looking forward to treating ourselves to discounted luxury apparel.

I’m switching banks after this horrible interaction and the several other negative experiences i’ve had with this banking institution via phones and in the branches. I will not be recommending this banking institution to any of my family or friends.

Please fix your customer service and the way you ask security questions.

Very poor customer service. We are unable to use online banking service nice almost one week. Called Scotiabank helpline couple times and did not receive any help. Best to avoid this poor customer service bank
03 November 2022 22:31
Horrible wait times. Things that should be easy in and out are never done properly. Either incompetent employees, lack of care or the inability to do simple things other banks can do.
28 August 2022 17:50
The worst banking experience I’ve ever had throughout my life was with Scotiabank, I’m so happy that I closed my account and got rid of these people
22 August 2022 19:08
Very rude & unprofessional behaviour by Manager & Staff. Worst banking experience ever. Would avoid banking with Scotiabank.

“TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE “
Apparently, there is a mid-age lady with glasses who sits at the front desk is extremely rude. She does not even know the C of customer service.
When I told her that I am having my banking services with this branch for 4 years never had a bad experience she said, “ I work here for the last 17 years”.

I went there to help my friend who just came to Canada as a international student. When she asked him do you have phone number or any address. I just said he is brand new here, she replied yea I know with a sarcastic face, she ignored me and told me to sit outside while She will process my friends GIC account processing.
Later, she made a comment about me to my friend, that “ your friend doesn’t know anything “. I was not able to sleep whole night because of the frustration, why I didn’t said anything to her.

So, I went to bank today to talk to that lady that i felt bad the way she treated me yesterday, she knew that she was wrong but she didn’t even apologize for her behaviour, and just keep on saying some random stuff. I feel so sorry for these kind of people who just don’t want to be polite and humble to a client, and ruining the reputation of the bank.
Booked an appointment for moving my account to different branch soon.

Why do I pay service fees for no services I can access? This branch is poorly run and needs some retraining on customer service. Branch manger was out of touch with clients.

The teller was acting like it was my fault for coming into the store and giving me that attitude. And of course, racist as well. Can't believe I have such a bad customer experience like that in a bank.
07 January 2022 6:43
If I could leave 0 stars, I would. The Asian lady was extremely racist, as well as the one name Sherry. This is a branch to avoid.
23 November 2021 21:57
The chubby Asian lady was really racist and rude she didn’t provide me With help when the other branch could. I went on Thursday and had really bad experience. She needs to be fired.
16 February 2021 18:58
Worse experience, Mr kumar was a terrible person to get help. Being a multilingual he is worse in his customer experience services. He even removed a credit card for no reason.
03 February 2021 7:41
This is the worst bank for Students and Immigrants. Students when you get account here by Fanshawe College, try to transfer to CIBC OR TD BANK. THis bank is worst, They will not give you Credit Cards, Increase your Credit Limits when You need it, Even though You have employment and credit score.
13 February 2020 13:35
Great customer service by the people working there, very kind and helpful people always ready to help you clear your problems
13 November 2019 4:01
I like this Scotiabank branch because it is near the mall and it drive thru which saves alot of time. Even there customer service is very good and they ask customers for coffee and water if they have to wait as some of branchs have coffee machines but it is rear I have seen employees asking customers to have coffee or tea
23 October 2019 22:32
I don't want them to rate a single star as if they don't deserve it or i don't call them as professional employ, every staff working their is new and don't know how to treat a customer. My issue was address from a month ago and i keep on visiting 3-4 times a week and they say that issue can't be resolved with them, and make me call the other department, and them the other department say's the issue should be resolved within the branch! I literally been shuffled between the branch and other department for weeks. If your a student and opening a new account at least try other branch. I also want to make note that the workers being rude and misunderstanding of the entire situation.
28 August 2019 19:36

I have been screwed multiple times by Scotiabank, A friend of mine signed up for a premium on a dating site with an old phone I gave him, payments came out of my account and they claimed they couldn't do anything about it. They said " you have to take action sir". I guess telling the place that holds/withholds the money you earn to no longer direct withdrawal out of your account isn't taking action.

Also I have received multiple bounced payment fees due to Scotiabank paying into minor accounts like Spotify, before holding the money for the prioritized accounts like insurance, so I'm getting nailed with minimum of 50$ nsf charges because I was short 3 or 4 dollars, based on them withdrawaling money they were no longer authorized to release.

Had the worst experience at this branch. I walked in to apply for a normal credit card and see if an advisor would be available to talk to. The bank had barely 10 customers and most of the advisors were sitting idle/distributing candy in the branch. Not only did I not get to speak with an advisor, when I tried to speak with the advisor distributing candy (Tanya), I was told she’s really busy and may have just 1 minute to answer your question. I was asked to bring two proofs of income to my appointment for a credit card which is letter of employment and all of my pay stubs. I already have a direct deposit set up for my salary to be deposited so I do not know why all of this is needed. I wish the bank looks into the customer service at this branch and improves it. Also trains their employees better.

Update: Got a call from this branch today, Feb 27th. Not only did I not receive an apology for the worst experience I could have come across, I was asked to remove the name of the employee from my previous review. Not once they asked me what they could do to fix this issue, which btw I dealt with it myself by applying online and got a preapproval for the credit card. Seriously this branch needs some help with customer service!

Have banked with ScotiaBank for 17 years no issues, switched to a new job which issued cheques only to have the teller want to hold my paycheck? I walked across the street and opened an account at TD who cashed my check immediately.

Made an appointment to see a financial advisor here ended up waiting 25 mins for her to come out. I thought at first oh she must be with a client but no she was chatting and playing around in her office with her male colleague. She then il advised my husband and I and was very rude and condescending the entire meeting. The tellers here are also not very good as we went to deposit a cheque we were given as a gift from our grandparent and it was from a credit union, the teller didn't know what she was doing and then deposited it as USD even though it was clearly CND.we ended up having the amount extra in exchange withdrawn for their mistake. I called the branch Manager and left a voicemail voicing my concerns and asked for a call back and have not gotten one it has been a month. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BRANCH AT ALL. I actually am shocked that any of them have a job. Including the branch manager how rude.
