The teller is very rude and nosy there, I went to withdraw $40 and she asked me a ton of questions since I was from out of town, like what I’m doing there. It felt like an interrogation and she made me feel very uncomfortable.

First bank ever not accepting cash. Customer service is terrible, don’t ever going back to this location

I would give no stars to but it is not an option. This branch has absolutely 0 customer service. When you walk in there is lots of staff who appear to be doing nothing but walking around. These staff certainly are not looking after customers there are none. When you ask for assistance the response is “do you have an appointment “ …. Really? No one is in here. The simplest of task tends to be met with resistance. Go elsewhere!

Whenever I visit this branch they provide best customer service. I always had great experiences in this branch. Always resolves my issues and many more.
Thankyou Nancy carpino for helping me out today:)

Excellent customer service.

Surprise to see negative reviews. One has to understand its a cashless branch.

Worst possible customer service. Even their higher ranked professionals dont care a darn about being professional enough to resolve the issues. Would give them worst negative rating if possible.

What a disaster, I can not believe that they are still struggling with a change of covenant on my mortgage (since July 2019). Extremely disorganized and uninformed. Why am I explaining how a rental agreement functions, or how to handle a charge against title when you are the ones that forgot to remove it.
The only thing keeping me there is the monstrous penalty I will have to pay to leave, when the term is over I will never do business with this bank again. The corporate customer service does not even return your emails despite being a customer for the last 14 years.

Can’t call the branch directly. Call Center wait time double their 7 minute estimate and they couldn’t answer my questions. Lack of service is frustrating.

I have been struggling to get help with my mortgage at the Clair RD Branch for over two months and am so frustrated with this bank I am evaluating pulling my business. I even wrote the following message to Customer Care a week ago and they too, have not responded:

Good morning Customer Care,

I initiated a change of covenant to my mortgage in early July with your mortgage specialist ###### at my home branch but am unable to reach her despite multiple phone calls and emails. Additionally, I am very surprised that it has taken over two months so far to have the service executed; This is likely exacerbated by the poor service I have received so far. As reference, I was able to have a similar transaction completed in a couple of weeks on my mortgage at TD.

My primary reason for staying with a bricks and mortar Bank as oppose to a more cost effective online Bank is for service in these scenarios.

Can I have your assistance in restoring my faith in your customer service by helping me close this matter in a more timely fashion?

I await your direction in how to proceed, and my preferred correspondence is an email response to: ######

Thank you,

Graham Moore.

Save yourself some frustration and bank elsewhere!

No cashiers, no customer services, just machines, is not a bank, is an ATM, big building, waste space.

Great and efficient if you’re a student, I think the negative reviews are from people who are old school and still like using the bank, everything is online now people, branches are a thing of the past. This place is the future

I posted last week and it was not a positive post about our experience over the last 11 years. Since then, there has been resolution with the bank advisor and I received a call from a manager after completing their survey who listened to my concerns. I am hopeful that moving forward, we will have better service than we have had.

Aweful aweful aweful. There is no continuity at this location, not a good characterization for a bank. They got rid of ALL their previous staff when they switched to the Scotia Solutions model, anyone there is new to the branch and there really isn’t many people here as this is an ATM based self-serve concept. Good idea for fast transactions but a really poorly thought out premesis. Firstly, remember this is ATM based so if you have a withdrawal limit yoy’ll have to increase it prior to utilizing the service. Sounds simple but don’t forget you have a limited number of times (3 to be exact) that you can temporarily increase a withdrawal limit at Scotia, unless you want to permanently increase limits. Which isn’t a great idea if your worried about comprimizarion of your cards at any point. Also, keep in mind that staff or phone assistance is strictly regular business hours so good luck utilizing the service after hours and requiring a more complex transaction or larger withdrawal. Secondly, let’s not forget that this is an ATM location so if you have a limited number of transactions they will add up during the month and you’ll pay overages. The concept is great but the fact regular transactions apply as well as limits, it renders a teller-less branch quite useless when you have to follow all the exact rules and restrictions of a standard ATM machine. Also they offer a nice pick your own cash machine, however there is only one and it’s been down for repairs countless times which also destroys the purpose and concept of the location. Great plan, poorly executed. I love it when banks make decisions like this without insight from the customers which provide all the money in which they run their services and make millions in bonuses to higher level executives, all without really caring what the customers want. So my interest rates get worse and worse every year, your profits continually grow, bank fees continually increase and I get no services and a handful of representatives.what exact services rendered verses value for my money and fees am I getting here at this location? Hmmm, great last quarter profits by the way, wonder why?

Brutal. I looked them up online and had to call to get a fax number. Automated process took me a few clicks to get the fax number. Fax failed six times. I called back and 1: 03pm.it is now 1: 23pm and I'm still on hold on the line. Took quite a few more clicks to get through to a person who left me on hold with dead air and then said, that's the right fax number. I asked how then do you suggest I get these documents to you? Still on hold. AND I just got hung up on! Pretty sure my client is not going to be happy about not getting these documents to this branch.

This is the most disorganized joke of a bank I've ever stepped foot in. I've been with sociabank for over 20 years and because of my experience at this location with a particular young blonde woman I will be pullin my accounts and starting fresh somewhere else. The staff doesn't want to help you, unless it's easy for them. They find ways to have you run around and figure out issues if they are not at the home branch linked to your card. It would of taken one simple phone call (which was done at an other location before) to help us but she refused, even stateing she doesn't trust us personally because we didn't have proof of a banking receipt but she could of called scotia downtown to verify. Who says that in a customer service based business. She does not know who I am nor my organization I had my bank card and ID and she still didn't want to help. I run a small business here in Guelph and don't need this nonsense. I asked her to please call the other bank. She looked at me like "I have to pick up a phone? " Time to hire real adults Scotiabank! I'm sorry I've been with you for over 20 years and that lady at the branch personally said she does not trust me. I have banking history that proves we our good clients. Never given a reason for them to state that, I have a perfect banking history and I have a perfect credit score. Scotia if you randomly don't trust your clients for no parlticualr reason at all then I guess we can't trust to do business with you.
At the looks of your current reviews at this location hopefully someone with at least a half a brain will step in soon and run it properly.

This rating is not based on the new "teller-less" banking, as the branch has no control over that, and I don’t mind it. This very, very poor rating is 100% based on the staff. We had numerous banking issues with this bank, which they refused to fixed and thought reimbursing us $120 instead of the $340 they owed us due to their mistakes was sufficient.
We dealt with Michelle, when we could get a hold of her, I would call and email and it would take a week or more to get a reply. Then when I got sick of that I left not one, but two voicemails’ for both the managers at the branch, and neither decided to call us back. Now I can understand if a customer is being rude, or unreasonable, that dealing with them can be a pain, but we were nothing but understanding with them, even with all the mistakes, until they refused to fix the issue and refused to actually call a client back.
Your loss by the way Scotia, we are a young couple who are looking to buy a house very soon, and we just booked a mortgage appointment at another branch. We will never deal with you again, you should also have Michelle take a customer service course, because he skills are lacking.big time.
