Scotsdale Farm

I lived in the area for two years before finding this place. I absolutely love taking the dog here very great options for hiking different skill levels. I would recommend this place to anyone very beautiful.

Very beautiful, we only did a quick turn around the grounds and the structures are beautiful, great place for photos, not sure how long the trails are or gow nice of a hike but I'll come back and find out

Beautiful farm land. My hubby and I walked 8 km on Labour Day. Great walk along the Bruce Trail. Only disappointed on the visitors who leave their garbage and dog poop bundles behind.

Always a great place to visit. We had our engagement photos done here recently and they turned out so beautiful. It is free and there is parking, cant find that many places anymore. The driveway pot holes to get up to the farm are extreme right now unfortunately.

What a great place to go for a hike. This place is conveniently located off trafalgar and has a sign making it easy to find. There is theain parking lot located at the end of the dirt road as well as an overflow parking lot at the top of the hill. There are a few options to choose from for trail length.

A very beautiful farm and surroundings. Hiked the Bennett Heritage Trail, about 10k, blue and white marker combination, a moderately challenging route. The sections below Eighth Line was more picturesque. Well maintained. There was an event going on, so it was a little busy, the parking lot was full.

Nice place for a hike - any season! The trails are beautiful in the fall, and even nicer in the winters. Mostly flat, with a few small side trails throughout. Great to take your dog out for a winter hike.

Rich in history, has fabulous natural trails. Up and down elevations give you a workout cardio, strength and breathwork all in one.

Best Spot to go among all other nearby trails has everything views, scenery, river place to sit, picnic very good for wedding photoshoot during September October and November

Beautiful place to go for a hike. Lots of various trails around the entire area, so you can connect as many as you'd like. Depending on the section of trail you're on, difficulty can range from wheelchair accessible to medium difficulty, as the parts of the trails could roll your ankles.

You have to visit in order to really appreciate the beauty of this area. We completed our famil photos there (thanks Heather!) And for a first time visit, I was thoroughly impressed. Would recommend.

Love this place its great for our pups and we visit once in a while when we can! I am so curious to know what's being filmed there if I'm allowed to ask, it's under wraps kinda so I understand if not but it's a cool experience to see that set up either way!

Beautifully preserved farmland, heritage protected and tranquility beyond.add hike or trail running which meanders and links up with both the Bruce trail and several optional side trails. Limited parking, dog friendly (leashed) but trails not suitable for children due to hills, rocky terrain & elevated terrain of the escarpment. Hiker’s or trail runner’s paradise! Watch for the entrance sign on Trafalgar Rd which is small & easy to miss.

Wow never knew that this place existed. Like walking back in time. No animals. But plenty of natural beauty.

For anyone looking for a long walk or a picnic, this is the place to go. The parking lot is busy but the paths still have plenty of space. There are some lovely waterfalls and beautiful old buildings as well.

Nice place for hiking but kids were disappointed as they were expecting to see animals.but I also understand this place is a Heritage farm. (appreciate the reply from the owner - thank you)

An excellent way to experience the beautiful Bruce Trail! Many different possible routes, levels of difficulty, and great connections to other trails beyond the borders of the farm. On warning - parking can be scarce in the winter. Summer/spring/fall there is an overflow parking lot closer to the road

Loved this place! It is a beautiful place to go for a hike. It was not too muddy.
There are a couple of trails, one that goes along the river, it is just beautiful! I was surprised when I saw the little waterfall.
If you use All Trails, search for Silver Creek Conservation.

Beautiful property open to the public for photos and trail walks. Easy trekking with lots of natural environments for those great photos.

This was a great place for trailrunning before the pandemic but unfortunately it's over crowed on the weekends now. I'd advice to start early morning or on a weekday.

Beautiful place for a walk with the dog and kids. Even more fun when a.movie is being filmed. Excellent spot to have photos taken.

Lovely place with wishing well and period buildings. Access to Bruce trails. Good place for hiking

Surprisingly, I found another link to the Bruce Trail as side trails here. Trails were iced up at the time. Very natural trails. There are blazes on the trail. The fields around these trails are eco-friendly. They rather you stick to the trails only! Plant life as birdhouses not to disturb the area! Enjoy and take pictures

Not a bad place to go for a hike. I was a little confused on some of the trails, like whether they went on one direction or looped around. Lucky, I met a couple on the trail who helped me along. I prefer Silvercreek Conservation more, but this place is nice because it has ample parking.

So many wonderful trails, explore the history of the area and enjoy being out of doors. Not far from the city and such ample parking.

This place is extremely beautiful and great for winter hiking. The entire experience will take about 2 hours and it's absolutely free with a huge parking lot so don't have to worry about anything. One thing you have to keep in mind is to have good winter boots as path can get slippery. Definitely recommended

Scotsdale Farm is part of a collection of properties under the care of the Ontario Heritage Trust. Visitors to the farm get the opportunity to see a historical rural Ontario property including heritage buildings and barns surrounded by 531 acres of fields. For the more adventurous looking to do some hiking the farm connects to the Bruce Trail which is Canada's longest marked foot path. Picture perfect scenery all year long makes this the perfect place to take in the best Ontario has to offer. Whether you spend just an hour or make a day of it there is something for everyone to enjoy.

We take our dog for hikes here and recently had our engagement shoot here, as well. Absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend you make the trip and enjoy what the property has to offer. There is a private residence on the property, so please be courteous and respectful to the owners and people who come to enjoy the grounds after you.

Seriously bad, car-swallowing laneway full of MASSIVE potholes and areas that are washed out from rain. Has been this way a long time, and getting worse. What would a truckload of gravel cost to fill those in, folks? Come on. The place itself is ok, but this week’s camp is the last time we will come here.

We had our Scout group Jamboree on the Trail at Scotsdale - we hiked along the Bruce Trail - it was very easy for all which was perfect for the Beavers in our group. Beautiful scenery with varied types of environments for the youth to see and learn about.

My group PANACHE Cycle, Hike, Explore hike Scottsdale farm every year in the spring. It is one of the best places to see the Ontario Trillium in white and pink and there were scores of butter cups and violets. We did a 11.6km hike of the Bennet Heritage Side Trail to the main Bruce Trail to the Great Esker Side trail and then left onto the Bruce Trail to return via the Maureen Smith side trail. This year we will be back to hike the trail in the fall. Take some time to see the many buildings on the farm and check out the well. It is very scenic and set in a tranquil setting.

Amazing view, looks surreal, plus a cave, fountain, and cliff-side walks and walking along the river, with loads of thick green moss. Really transports you!

Trails are great! Did a little geocaching as well. Nice to visit the historic farm buildings. Found this great big horn worm on a post.

Absolutely amazing - it's so, so scenic! Very easy hike, fairly "roomy", good mix of people, dogs, etc. I'm fairly novice to hiking and the Bruce Trail and this is a great way to get your feet wet (and muddy).

For those that just want to come to take some pretty pictures without walking much, you can also do that, the trail head (the farm) is gorgeously kept. I also like how there is a lot of parking.

A perfect addition to my list of countryside escapes (yet only a stones throw from the city).

Free parking, walk takes about an hour on the main trail. There isnt a lot to do here but it's great for a casual walk and scenic photos. Hike this along with Silver creek for a good workout.

Scottsdale farm is a lovely place for a walk! Summer or winter makes for a great place to take scenic or family photos! I enjoy snow shoeing in the open fields during the winter. And if you are lucky you can catch a stunning sunset on the hills facing Trafalgar road.

Beautiful hiking paths on a delicately wooded farm. Every season it is breathtakingly beautiful but especially in the Fall with colourful leaves on the trees and grounds. Easy hiking that most all people and their pouches can enjoy.

Interesting place we stumbled across. Some nice old buildings, however we weren't able to enter. A few signs posted about the area and structures. Definitely a good place to walk. Would love more information about the buildings and be able to go inside! We will be back in the summer.
