Everything about this place was rich in culture, rich in flavour, and rich in love! Their food is soooo good! They even have a vegan menu! Thank You Keith for such a wonderful experience
My aunt had chosen this establishment for our family dinner because of the delicious food and the excellent service and boy was she right! The special has a 2 meat option and it was the best oxtail and curry goat I ever had! The rice and peas was just made to perfection you can really taste the coconut milk and seasoned to perfection I had to order a second bowl. The sweet potato pudding dessert was absolutely delicious so moist and tasty! A must have to finish off the delicious meal, hats off to the chef! Our waitress was efficient, respectful and on point with everything I couldn’t believe with a table of 8 she didnt need a pen and paper when we ordered drinks, apps and mains. She made us feel like valued customers at a fine dining establishment it was refreshing to be told it was a pleasure to serve us for the evening. I recommend this restaurant it is a must to visit!
I have been ordered the food several times The flavor is very good But today I ordered on Uber eats for oxtail meal and I payed 30 dollars for only 4 small pieces of meet
Upscaled atmosphere for Caribbean dine in and take out, service was a bit too slow considering we were the only table in that night, but that’s to be expected when West Indians right? Lol. Definitely worth checking out, get the 2 meat combo platter!
This is NOT the first time I've been to this restaurant!
This was my 2nd visit for a similar gathering of professionals from acrosstheGTA. My NEW experience started when the lady sitting beside me ordered a glass of wine!
When the glass of wine was brought to her, it was comparably different than the lady having a similar glass of wine across from her. A BIG difference!
When the owner actually finally came over to have a chat with the customer, the indifference he showed for not making things right about the quantity was VERY disappointing.
The dinner I ordered, which was oxtail and rice, it was supposed to come with soup; that never came.
My meal was easily to put together, but the quantity and taste of oxtail left me with feeling empty.being that it was one of a few signature dishes the restaurant does daily!
Do not be fooled by the size of this restaurant, you get the entire taste of Jamaica in every bite.
Located on the outskirts of downtown Toronto, this hole-in-the-wall serves delectable Jamaican cuisine.
The meats are well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. If you are a hearty eater, the portion sizes will satisfy your appetite. Try the Scottshill Special if you have the stomach for it; it will leave you popping at the seams.
I highly recommend Scottshill to anyone seeking a taste of Jamaica while in Toronto.
I was born and grew up in Trinidad and Tobago. One of the things I absolutely love about the Caribbean is its FOOD! The warmth and diversity of the people transcended to the rich flavours and food became a cultural experience- a boilng pot of African, Indian, Portuguese, Spanish, Indigenous, English and French influence. Aside from Mr. Jerks's on Wellesley East Downtown or Leena's in Scarborough, it's hard to find really good Caribbean food in Canada. I live close to this restaurant and honestly never noticed it when passing by. I was searching the internet for Caribbean food and this came up. We tried it and were so happy to find a taste of home. It's a well established, family owned and managed restaurant. There is ample accommodation for comfortable family dining- clean and well kept. The customer service is great, and the wait time short. The food is delicious and the variety on the menu is awesome. They play Caribbean music to make the experience complete and I saw a full offering of Caribbean rum and other alcoholic beverages. I highly recommend here
This was my first time visiting this restaurant. It is my husband's birthday and he is a diehard Jamaican so I didn't tell him where I was taking him for dinner. The venue is cute and nice. The food AMAZING. The chef Mr. A, and our hostess made our experience fabulous. From the vegetarian soup, which surprised me, to the jerk chicken dinner for my husband was amazing. He finished everything. My oxtail dinner was so nice that I had to take some home. The rum cake slice for my husband was so soft and nice. We had a wonderful experience and will endorse this venue to the world as a excellent place to dine. Money and time well spent. Looking forward to go back again.
I had dined here with a friend over 2 months ago and there was a young chef he was not only the chef but also the host, server and cashier. I couldn’t believe how professional he is and to work with such patience and kindness like he really loves his job. Not only was his service exceptional but I had the best escovitch snapper in my life better than Jamaica. I have to return back but will be calling in to find out if the chef for the day is Andre I recommend you all do the same, his food is absolutely amazing.
The food here is amazing It become my favourite delicious, the veggie soup too. The fish fritters I can’t stop dreaming about it. Lol I just loved I think is better if you eat there because the food is super fresh. The waiting time is bit longer but cmon the food worth it. Much better than take out ofrece Uber eats. Coming back forever that’s for sure
If you are looking for *authenticity*, this is the place to be. A little piece of Jamaica in every bite. The serivce and food is worth the price. Each meal is served with soup, plantain, your choice of side and coleslaw. You can get 2 meats if you cannot decide. All for under $35!
Things to try: *Oxtail *Goat *Brown stew Fish *BBQ fried Chicken
The best Jamaican food I have tried living 30 years in the city. The jerk chicken was done to perfection. You have to try this place once and taste to believe for yourself.
I ordered fried chicken and rice and peas and I thought the food was good. My guest believed that the chicken was a tad salty but she does not typically eat salt.
The rice and peas tasted good also. Service was very good. The owner was very kind and warm. I would visit this place again.
Always get take out from here and this was my first time dining in. Its a warm space to sit and eat and enjoy the fun music they have going on. Food is ALWAYS FRESH AND DELICIOUS Im assuming its a small family owned restaurant and its a MUST for good jerk. Prices are very reasonable as well. We had a pattie for appetizer, and 2 meals, bill was close to $70 after tax.
