I have been coming to this salon for years for haircuts and styling and would highly recommend to anyone! All of the staff are very knowledgeable, professional, and talented!

I had very bad experience from this salon. Jose the senior hair stylist did my hair color. Now my hair is all burned and half yellow color. They do not listen whar customer wants and they are rude and do the job carelessly. I had beauriful curly hair but now I lost it. And their begaviour is like they are doing a favor for free! Eventhough I paid lots of money and after complain they do not care what do I want in return of awfull result, never go back to there!

Alessandra is knowledgeable, patient, a good listener as well as talented. I was so happy, I immediately booked my friend to get hers done with me too.

I had told the receptionist I could only come in the evening after work at 6 & she insisted she could easily fit me in for a cut and colour the next day. Once I got there, I was told the appointment was actually for 5: 45. I wasn’t upset at the miscommunication and even asked if there was enough time for everything as I didn’t mind coming back another day, and the stylist assured me it would be fine. The entire time the stylist kept looking at her watch and was rushing because they had scheduled another appointment shortly after. The haircut was also not great. The girl doing my colour also seemed to be rushing because she wasn’t aware she had me as an appointment. This service is probably the worst I’ve seen at any Aveda salon - I wish they just asked me to come back another day.

The only reason I didn’t leave completely upset was because Albert came over to fix my bangs and haircut, and was extremely friendly. Unless you’re scheduling your appointment with him, I would not bother coming to this place.

I love my haircut from Marialaura and the balyage done by Vee! I’d recommend Scruples services to everyone, they exceeded my expectations and gave me the result I wanted!

Scott is beyond amazing. Scott colour corrected my hair from black to dark brown which is the colour I was going for originally. Once my hair got a bit healthier, I did a balyage to change it up. He is great at what he does and this is my new go-to salon!

Scott has been doing my colour for years and I couldn't be happier! He's a great guy and gets it right every time. Super patient and a pleasure to be around. Highly recommend booking an appointment with him!

I came in to do a colour correction, Cary did an amazing job fixing my hair! She was super sweet and did an amazing job!

I came in a couple of days ago for an ombré balayage with Ashley, and after almost four hours left the salon in tears. I came for a consultation a few days prior and had a lengthy discussion of what I wanted to be done with my hair. I specifically explained numerous times that I did not want bleach near my roots and the ends a lighter, neutral-warm blonde, and was left with hideous grey streaks. I told this to Ashley and she immediately got snippy with me and said I got exactly what I asked for and then walked away.
I came back the next day to speak with the owner and he insisted that what I wanted could not be done to my hair. I asked why this was not communicated to me, as I would not have wasted my time or $360, and all he could say was “I don’t know, I wasn’t there”. He then told me that my hair was a “shapeless blob” and insisted I needed layers, despite me never asking for style advice. I was offered another appointment to fix the colour, however the owner was adamant that I could never get the colour I wanted, so I’m not exactly sure what he was planning on doing.
I’m completely devastated as my hair is ruined, and I now have to find another salon and pay another large sum to get it fixed. I would never recommend anyone go to this salon unless you want to be insulted and have ugly hair.

Scott is the best hairstylist ever! This was my first encounter with Scott, off the bat he fully understood what I wanted (without even showing him a picture) HES JUST THAT GOOD! He was so kind and honest and worked well with me. I love my new hair and I look forward to coming back:)

This Salon offers 1st in Class service! Gianna is a great stylist! She listens and uses her expertise to provide you the most gorgeous cut / style! I would recommend Scruples & I do. I've sent a number of people to this salon.it is that great!

I have been seeing Vee since I have discovered her. She is absolutely phenomenal at her job and I love that she gives suggestions to help improve the longevity of the balayage. I will likely be seeing her for as long as I can, thank you so much Vee!

It would have been a 5 but the customer service is atrocious. I went in to see Albert who was a nice enough man (and really a wizard with scissors) but somehow had me in the chair for 3 hours for a hair cut. I then after leaving at like 930pm said i would call to make an appt in 1-2 months to dye my hair. I called back in that time (why i waited to give the review) & I was highly disappointed. I asked the front desk to talk to Albert as he said he had specific recommendations and to ask to talk to him when I had called. I did so and the front desk was rude, told me he’d get back to me, hastily took my info and i haven’t heard from the salon or Albert since. I don’t know if this was an error with receptionists but this is terrible customer service. I paid a lot of money for him to cut my hair and was prepared to come back despite that yet they lost me as a customer Over this. It’s been weeks and I’m not calling back to remind them, this is their job. Only reason they didn’t get 1 star was my haircut from Albert was actually really great aside from all the other problems.

I had an appointment with Elena today for an eyebrow wax with tint and lip wax. I was taken in right away for my appointment on time!

Elena showed a high degree of professionalism as well as an excellent skill for waxing. I will be definitely returning to Elena for my aesthetic needs!

I have been going to Sabrina at scruples for a little under 2 years now! She does such a phenomenal job and has such a great eye for identifying colours and hair styles that bring out your natural beauty. I’m ethnically Indian, and so I am always particular about the type of hair colours used on me as they can easily wash me out if they are too light! Sabrina has nailed the colour every single time. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new hairstylist!

Josie and Giana were fantastic. Colour is beautiful and test wedding hair was gorgeous. Can’t wait to see the final day and these ladies are true professionals that care about getting it right and it’s always beyond my wildest dreams

Natalie is my go to for hair for all my hair cutting needs plus styling for events! For over 10 years now I’ve been going to her. Elena is my go to for everything spa related- waxing, pedicures and manicures!

IF YOU'RE THINKING OF GOING TO VAL. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. $450 FOR OVERBLEACHED, BROKEN HAIR AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I understand that this location is very very busy, and colourists are often servicing multiple clients at once. But from the moment I got there, I was treated like a burden and was rushed and pushed around through the entire process. I showed her my color reference pictures, and her response was "ew.why would you want to do that? ". We ended up doing what she recommended. I wanted a honey blonde rather than a light blonde.she toned my hair for about 3 seconds, and any honey that was in my hair washed out when I washed my hair 4 days later. She even left conditioner on my hair that my stylist noticed, and didn't have the decency to say goodbye to me after she was done.

I didn't even realize how badly I got scammed until I visited a different hairdresser, who told me that the breakage on my front pieces was due to her dragging down bleach from my roots to pieces that were already at their blondest, and leaving it on for too long because she was too busy with other clients.

Most of the girls at this salon treat you as if they're doing you some sort of favour by dyeing your hair. Remember that bleaching is expensive, and you are putting your trust in the hands of these people. They should always treat you with respect and value your input. DO NOT go to this place for color.

Cary did an amazing job. Blonde was on point loved it. Jessica's hair technique was amazing; she left my hair super silky and did wonder with a straightener. Definitely coming back.

Was very happy with Jordin. She is very professional and approachable and made some great suggestions. I will definitely be booking with her again.

I would highly recommend visiting Scruples for amazing and caring services. I had my hair done by Ashley at the Vaughan location and the colour and style is absolutely gorgeous. She achieved the exact colour that I asked for and also provided me with very insightful tips to improve the health of my hair and to maintain the colour. The salon is extremely effective in their sanitary regulations, I felt very safe and comfortable in the environment. I will definitely be returning for another visit!

Stylist Sabrina is an awesome stylist who took great care of me and is a real artist with hair. Awesome stuff.

I just recently got my hair highlighted at this salon, the colorist V has done an extraordinary work at my curly hair, I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she tried her best to accomplish it on the first go. It is not the best looking salon but they know how to do hair! If you are thinking about going blonde or get highlights I highly recommend them, especially my colorist V, she is patient and hard working and listens to what you want. I wish I visited them sooner

Went to scruples and had a great first experience! The staff is super friendly and Cary who worked on my hair is super talented. She talked me through the steps she was taking and I left feeling amazing I love the end result! I’m looking forward to my next visit at scruples with Cary.

I have been a blonde for years but very selective with who I let touch my hair. Ashley is the BEST! She takes her time, listens to what I want and you can tell through her work how much she loves what she does. Aside from her professional ability, she is such a great person and always makes my long appointments something I look forward to! Will always and only go back to Ash!

I recently went for a haircut with Vanessa she was FANTASTIC! Highly recommend, every stylist I have seen has been nothing short of amazing

I had a balayage booked with Ashley today and she really took her time to ensure the job was done properly and to my liking. This was my first balayage and she made the process less nerve racking by walking me through the steps. I came into the salon with a vision and Ashley definitely delivered. As soon as I walked out the salon I received an abundance of compliments! I’m in love, and would definitely recommend Ashley to anyone interested in getting some colour added to their hair.

Had a wonderful experience here! Vee did an amazing job making sure my hair was exactly what I wanted! Will definitely be coming back! If anyone is looking for balayage I highly recommend:)

The experience was great! Had an amazing conversation with the stylist. Wish I could give a 5 star rating by my curls didn’t even last 1 hour. This is pretty unusual since my hair curls/hair dos when done at other hair salons, has always lasted the entire day. Got my hair done close to 10: 00am and at 11: 30am my hair had no curls in it. Super disappointing since I was a bridesmaid and wish that my curls didn’t fall down working an hour.

I’m obsessed with my hair transformation. Scott did a very good job in turning my untouched black hair to a more refreshing look. I was so afraid to do my hair but after talking to Scott, all my worries went away because he exactly knows what I want and he did not disappoint. Got a lot of compliments and I’m so happy with my hair. Will surely go back!

Very shadey business: Prior to my appointment I told staff what I was willing to spend on a cut and highlights, which they agreed to.and then they charged me an ADDITIONAL $120! I have put several calls in to the owner and am still awaiting a call (1 month later). Cut and color are nothing special-paid more than $320-what a scam! Shame on you, Scruples!

Gianna went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and listened to my needs. My hair looks and feels amazing! Thanks again:)

Had a highlight appointment with Nick. I would say I am not happy with the whole experience:

1) He was half heartedly doing consultation for what kind of colors would suit my short pixie hair. When I mentioned that I used to have balayage with blonde color tone, he was literally smirking and said that my hair is alreay very short and it is not possible to hair balayage with blonde - the fact that I had done it twice at my old hairdresser and the result was pretty good showed that it is possible. At the end, he recommended a partial highlight of dark brown. The outcome was not satisfactory - after a few wash, I can hardly see any partial highlight!

2) Nobody attended to me when it was time wash my hair after the dye process. I waited for 20 minutes! 20 minutes in the hair washing station. I finally caught a lady and told her that I had been waiting for 20 minutes, she went to ask Nick, and he said he asked someone. That Nick person never even appeared! At the end the same lady washed my hair.

The saloon is like a fresh morning market, too noisy.

I would not recommend anyone going to Nick for hair dye service.

It was my first time at this salon and I loved it! Sabrina cut, coloured and styled my hair and it turned out AMAZING:) It was my first time colouring my hair and she gave many suggestions and took her time to make sure I liked it. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend coming to this salon.

Correction- 1. My previous visit at scruples was on March 18th (with Spencer/Jordan) 5 months ago NOT “over a year ago” as you stated. 2. Root touch up was done at that visit as well -$65, balayage $130 and hair cut w/wash & style $95. I have a copy of receipt that lists services & paid $290 + tax (great experience with both ladies). 3. No $40 free treatment was given to me while I waited with a towel wrapped around my head. You are confusing toner with a treatment, I’m sure I would have been told if I was getting something free from scruples. My mistake for not stopping the color process before getting my hair cut first.

Very disappointing response from the owner, the purpose of these reviews are to better your establishment and services. I see no apology or admitting for dropping the ball this time. All I see is justifications for price gouging at scruples salon. Price wouldn’t be an issue if your service/experience could match it.

Thanks for the “complimentary” styling offer after the fact and (I wouldn’t call it complementary since I have paid for this service but didn’t receive it at my appointment) but now it’s not worth my time.

My first review in attempt to rectify issue before owner's response:

Paid $384.20 for a cut & color and NO styling offered. Christine proceeded with balayage before my hair cut which is unusual. I have always had the hair cut first then followed by color. There was no stylist available to cut my hair but my appointment was booked weeks in advance. My color was done and washed. I had to sit at the sink chair for almost 30 min waiting for my hair cut. After the long wait I was directed to the men's section for the cut with Stefano (he was pleasant and did a decent job) but that was it, my hair wasn't styled or anything. I was told to go to the cash. Not once did anyone come by to check on how the color had turned out or anything. I waited at the front but couldn't spot Christine. In fact I did not see her again after she left me for shampooing. When I got home I had to wash my hair again because of hair dye left around my ears it wasn't washed properly. I don't love the way my balayage turned out but will have to live with it since I dont want to damage my hair further. This wasn't my first time at scruples and I have had better customer service, results and also paid much less. I understand that the salon can get busy so I took the 9: 30 am appt on a Tuesday. I'm not sure if the salon is short staffed but please don't book appointments where clients have to wait around and not get the proper service and results for the premium price they pay at your salon.

Sabrina is absolutely amazing! Prior to going to scruples, I had a lot of trust issues when it came to getting my hair cut/trimmed at other salons… but with Sabrina, I always feel at ease. I trust her with all my hair wants and needs! I always leave feeling happy & good about myself!

I went in with a million shades of every colour. My hair was a disaster. Scott saved my hair and gave me the most beautiful colour ALWAYS. He explains every step he’s doing and makes you feel very welcome. His calm demeanour makes the experience super chill and fun. I will
only trust Scott. Does my colour beautifully every time.

A top notch salon for sure! I got my hair done and was blessed with a balayage, blow dry and style by Kristine Spencer. Such an amazing experience and walked out with impeccable hair!

I am happy with the haircut and styling that I received. However, the overall salon experience wasn't very inviting. After I reached I waited approximately 25 min to get started with the service. It was a Friday so I can understand that somehow. What I can't accommodate is the lack of hygiene esp during these covid times. Please clean your hair wash areas and hair cut stations and don't use the same hairbrush for multiple people. Thanks.

Have had the best experience at Scruples Spa! The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. I have been getting lash lift & tint and eyebrows wax with Isabelle since September 2020. She is an amazing worker who not only knows what she is doing but also makes the place feel like home. Having a conversation with her makes time fly so fast. I am truly looking forward to coming back to this wonderful place next month.

Scott did an amazing job on my balayage! He gave me exactly what I wanted and his bubbly personality made the (long) process fun!

I got a balayage from Josie and haircut from Jess and both of them were super nice and did a great job! Josie is super quick (fastest balayage I have ever gotten) and includes the full package to make sure you get exactly what you want for a flat fee (low lights and treatment included). They also offer to fix your hair in 1 week if you go home and don't love it which is a nice perk! There's a few reasons for not rating the salon 5/5.1 is because it was pretty uncomfortable under the dryer and in the sink (my neck was in pain for a good 30 mins because there's no neck cushion). 2nd, although the haircut was done well, I found it a little overpriced considering I went to a Jr stylist. I think some other salons can offer the same quality at much more reasonable prices but they are upfront about pricing so you know what to expect. And one other major thing that threw me off was when I entered, they make you hang up your coats in a tight rack in between a bunch of other people's coats. That was very unsettling during Covid, wish they offered some sort of coat cover or allowed you to keep it by your station. Aside from that, I left loving my hair so overall pleased with the outcome!:)

I had my experience with Olga and she made everything from start to finish excellent! She actually helped me decide what to do with my hair in the end making me love it way more! Will be back for a colour correction next week with her!

I saw Abby today for my first back massage ever and I was the best experience. She has such a high degree of professionalism and is extremely knowledgable about the process. During the entire session she explains what she was doing, how it would benefit and constantly checked in to see if I was comfortable or experiencing any discomfort. I will DEFINITELY be coming back for another massage with Abby. So happy with my experience.

Olga was super detail oriented and professional and I left the salon thrilled with my hair and feeling totally pampered. Thank you Olga, it was a treat and I will be back for sure!

First time there and absolutely loved the experience! The head massage after the wash was immaculate 10/10 would recommend this place. My hair is my number one feature about myself, Sabrina cut my hair and listened to what I wanted but also gave me suggestions which in the end I took and I can honestly say that I’m obsessed with my hair! Loved the cut and most definitely loved the style.
It is a bit on the pricey side but worth it!

Scruples is an exceptionally run salon. Everything from booking, to reminders and being seen promptly when you arrive. I am happy to have found a place that has such skilled and creative employees. Giana gave me a "knock your socks off" bob this afternoon. She is my new favourite - she is detailed and precise - very little small talk (which is perfect). My new favorite! Very happy I found her.

Overall it was a good experience for a first time at scruples - It was certainly busy but they made sure everything was done in the time they said it would take, didn't experience much wait time when I got there.

Cut was perfect, Josie did a great job with the balayage, it was very blended and well done.tone was a little off from what we initially discussed, but that's not a biggie because it usually takes my hair at least 2 sessions to get to where it needs to be. The styling at the end was a nice touch.

Only constructive feedback I have is the atmosphere (perhaps it was just that day) seemed a bit hectic in the 3 hours I was there, everyone was noticeably rushing around to get to the next person, shouting to ask or get things etc. While it didn't take away from the great cut and color I got, it didn't necessarily add to my salon experience either. Will probably look to book my next touch up during off peak hours during the weekdays.
