Uncomfortable seating and pedicure in what amounts to a kitchen sink with some stones in it. Expensive view for 30 min experience

My first time at Scruples was an absolute pleasure, specifically having Olga as my stylist! Worth every single penny. She was very friendly, welcoming, honest and easy to communicate with! As well, she is extremely patient, confident and is a true professional. She made me feel at ease and feel beautiful throughout the entire process. It was very easy to trust her with my hair. I will definitely be back here for my next haircut!

Olga was super professional and great with my hair. Not only did she listen to what I wanted but her expertise was evident in her suggestions and explanations of my hair process. She was also extremely fun to talk to and gave me a wonderful experience.

BEST experience! Kayla and Julie couldnt have been better! My friend and I went to be pampered with pedis for her birthday. I cannot give Scruples Salon and Spa enough stars to express my enthusiasm and satisfaction. They let us gab afterwards too for awhile! Thank you Kayla and Julie for a fantastic, positive experience in a beautiful setting! I will be leaving my current Nail place for Scruples.they have so many services. Kayla is Amazing! She takes great care of her customers! My Pedi and Eyebrows are flawless after today. She makes me feel so at home at Scruples! I love Jane as well! Such a welcoming atmosphere with these 2 great people! I come to Scruples because of Kayla and her great skills and excellent rapport with her customers (me!)

Stephanie has always been my hairdresser and I will only trust her with my hair. She does an excellent job and is very professional and pleasant. Thanks

Kayla did a great job with doing our nails. I rate her 5 Stars.
There are small details, i.e. Lighting outside and also for the signs, the temperature in the room was cold, etc.
Walls needed repainting and the sofa needed recovering.

Great service excellent pedicure-Kyla is super skilled and friendly she did not rush the service. I’ll definitely be going back.

The cost is more than your average shop but, in my opinion, worth it.

The only negative is the bench seating in front of the pedi seats a a bit uncomfortable

The staff are trained professionals and definitely have a bank of knowledge to share with their clients. The services are excellent.

Was a long-time customer (10-ish? Yrs) of Scruples with the same stylist who unfortunately left to change careers. I thought I would give them another chance and booked with A***.

Worst experience ever - in speaking with A***, she disclosed that she had only been with Scruples for a month and had started out as the RECEPTIONIST (yes, you read that correctly.receptionist), then moved up to wash hair and then voila, they asked her to cut hair. All within a month.unbelievable.

She had no idea what she was doing - basically cut my hair across straight with no texturizing or styling, burnt my scalp twice because the hair dryer was too close. As an Aveda salon, it normally begins with essential oils and a light neck massage - nope, this was not offered at all.

The worst part? I was asked to complete a survey shortly after the service, gave my open and honest feedback and heard nothing from the salon.

Perhaps the other stylists are better but I cannot in good conscience, recommend Scruples ever again, which is too bad as I had been going to them for years.

Wash & blow out were excellent. Stephanie is excellent and I loved my hair! All other employees made the experience very enjoyable and relaxing!

Madison was fantastic, as always! She asks lots of good questions to make sure she understands what I'm looking for with my haircut, and then executes it flawlessly. She checks in with me along the way to make sure I'm doing well (which I always am - it's SO relaxing to have my hair done!). Although I know her schedule is packed, I never feel like she's rushing me through my appointment, which is really appreciated. I really look forward to my appointments and the pampering I get to enjoy during that time, and Madison is a pro with my hair so I always leave extremely happy with my new cut:)

Stephanie is an amazing colorist and stylist! I go to her every time. Oh and she gives the best head massages when it's conditioner time!

My daughter and I both had great massages at Scruples this weekend! These women really know what they're doing when it comes to massage and are friendly people. I would definitely go there again!

Stephanie is a great combination of professional and personable. She listens carefully and offers guidance and does a fantastic job. The location is really great too in an old farmhouse on a hillside.

I had a very relaxing massage which put me in a slumping state. I was so relaxed I could have stayed there all afternoon. I was very satisfied.

I always leave with beautiful shiny hair that’s why it’s the best. Madison knows what she’s doing, she’s very knowledgeable and always does a fantastic job. Miranda helped at my last appointment, and she is also thorough. I’ve been to many salons in Pickering, but I have to say that Scruples is my favourite.

Stephanie always takes the time to check in before we start the actual.service. She wants to know how the cut or colour has been working for me. She pays attention to the answer and adapts. She's also upbeat and personable. I always look forward to seeing her.
Also had my first mani/pedi with Kayla today. The attention to detail is amazing. Wonderful experience. I will book again.
The rest of the team is just as welcoming. Friendly, helpful, and considerate.

Kayla was amazing. She took the time to explain the different products she used, recommended products suited to my needs and went over my current skin care routine and we found areas for improvement.

Really lousy message. May as well have run a feather duster along my calves and saved $150 for 2 half hour massages. Maybe they're better at other things. I certainly hope so.

I dont try new hair stylists, nevwr have, until today. The experience from booking the appt, to arriving and departing qas great. Stephanie made me feel comfortable and for.the first time i wasnt afraid someone was going to eff up my.hair.thanks girl I appreciate it and I WILL be back. Manu manyyyy thumbs up.

DO NOT GO TO SCRUPLES!
I had previously given this salon a 5 star, but after my last experience there I unfortunatley have to revoke that rating.

I went in for a colour correction and let the stylist know I just wanted to bleach the new growth, and to leave the bottom half of my hair as is, as I loved the blue and knew they don't carry the same colour to replace it.

I walked out of that salon with an over bleached, patchy brittle mess. The stylist did not show me the back of my hair while in the salon, so I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home and got a good look at it. I immediately regretting paying for what I recieved.

The bleach seemed to have spread, unevenly, throughout most of my hair, stripping out well over half of the blue I wanted to keep. What blue colour remained was left patchy, splotchy and uneven.

I also realized at that point that the bleach had dripped onto my back and stained my shirt!

Trying to deal with the salon has been frustrating to say the least. They offered to "fix" my hair by offering to cover it up, but they don't carry the proper colours to do that. They did not offer to order in the right colour to replace what was stripped out.

They did nothing to replace the shirt they had ruined.

After emailing the owner the description of my experience as well as photos of my hair and shirt, they implied I should have TAKEN MY SHIRT OFF FOR THE SERVICE. No Thank You.

The owner has failed to reply to my email after I told him I shouldn't have to take my shirt off to avoid having my clothing ruined,
so that is why I am changing my review to 1 star.

Since visiting, I have lost a tremendous amount of hair, had to fix the colour up at home to look presentable out in public, and am INCREDIBLY upset that nothing has been done to remedy the damaged shirt.

I have added photos of what my hair looked like the week before visiting, what it looked like when I left the salon, and the stained shirt.

I always enjoy my experience at Scruples. It's a beautiful place, the staff are always wonderful, and I've never been disappointed with any of the stylists (although Madison took care of me the last two times and did a fantastic job)!
They're all exceptionally well trained, and they spend a lot of time really working WITH your hair for the best overall cut and style, which always lasts as it grows out. When I was finally able to get back in for a cut after all the lockdowns etc, it was more than 9 months, but the shape had held, and I just needed a freshen up.
Honestly, I don't trust my hair to anyone that isn't Aveda trained (I've had too many horror stories to count). The stylists at Scruples are just top notch. Every time. Thanks again!

Had some fantastic beach waves done for a wedding. My hair held all night. Loved the end result

I am unbelievably upset and frustrated with both the quality of my haircut and the customer service I received at Scruples Salon. For reference Vanessa was my hair stylist. As you can see in the photo she cut off my hair in multiple spots. I got my hair cut on August 14th but did not notice until my hair started growing out over the past month. I have now found multiple spots on the back of my head where Vanessa chopped off my hair. I can not put my hair up as it looks ridiculous with chunks stinking straight up all around my head. Vanessa never told me that she cut my hair off in multiple spots while I was at the salon. I found out myself. When I found out I reached out to the salon to tell them what happened. The owner Albert emailed me back. He did not apologize. He did not give me a refund or anything at all. He said “ I asked vanessa and she said you wanted it thinned out and it was possible that she went too close to the scalp. And with the texture of your hair, it sticks out more so; in few weeks as it grows it will naturally come down…how is the haircut in general though? ”. No apology. Nothing. The owner of the company is basically blaming me for wanting my hair thinned out. I always get my hair thinned out and this has never happened in my life. I don’t know how Vanessa still has a job, I don’t know how Albert speaks this way to his clients as he is the owner. This has been thee worst haircut experience. I will never be returning. DONT GO HERE!

This is my second time coming into Aveda/Scruples and honestly it’s always a 10/10 experience. Yesterday I had Madison as my stylist and she actually helped me blow out my hair back when I was there in March.she was so kind and funny and it was overall a lovely experience. I could ask her all these questions and she gave me the best answers and was so friendly. I booked my next appointment in October with Madison and I have no doubt that I’ll be more than satisfied with the experience. The environment is so great. I’ll never go anywhere else again.

I was feeling quite down yesterday. I decided to call Scruples to check and see if my favourite Kayla was working and if she was free to do a pedicure for me. I was in luck! Kayla was able to fit me in. While chatting I asked her if she had time to do a facial for me. She did, so I felt like I had won the lottery! She treated me a to the BEST facial I have ever experienced! She put me at ease and I enjoyed every minute of both my services! My skin really needed a treat as I havent been kind to it during covid. I want to say a sincere Thank you to Kayla for cheering me up and absolutely making my day! Scruples is so lucky to have such a great reprensentitive to take care of their clients! Thank you Kayla!

I am a new Customer at Scruples and I went for a cut and colour yesterday. Vanessa was my stylist and she not only made me very comfortable but talked to me every step of the way as to what she was doing and even helped me how to style my hair so that the waves showed nicely. I never had anyone take care of me so well. Thanks Vanessa, I did book my next appointment and hoping to be a permanent customer at Scruples. Much appreciated

Coming to a salon for a haircut was my first time in a few years. My hair has been thinning and I had some dry ends.
Madison was a pleasure to speak with. She gave me great tips. She also blow dried my hair into a wavy style and my hair were so soft and shiny. I am coming back after 6 months to get another cut, till then hopefully I can follow Madison's tips and take better care of my hair

I’ve been going to Rebecca for years. She is AMAZING! I’m pretty particular when it comes to my hair, she always meets and exceeds all my expectations.

My cut and colour were excellent and my stylist was patient and skilled in her work. I felt comfortable in the salon because there was lots of distance and protocols in place that were being followed by everyone.
