Seneca@York Campus

I am from Edmonton and it is very frustrating they are disconnecting my calls as I want to know the that why they deducted my 690 dollars from my account without any reason. I didn’t take any course and living far from their college in Edmonton. What is the meaning of doing this? I called them thrice and they are repeating one thing that they are passing my call to service hub but it gets disconnected. I am an international student and I am really disappointed from this.

Becareful if you go here and withdraw. They don't refund your money and goodluck trying to get in touch with anyone regarding OSAP. They're extremely unprofessional and probably scammers.

I applied for the computer programming course in 2022 Fall. After the course started I got a job and unfortunately had to drop out. I gave back all the tuition I received from OSAP and thought that was it. Fast forward to Novemeber 3rd 2023, I get a notice from OSAP stating that "part of my grant has now turned into a loan and I owe $286". Well imagine my confusion since I didn't keep any money. I emailed Seneca and I got in touch with Biju at the financial aid office. We went back and forth regarding the $286 and at the end she just tells me to contact NSLSC to correct the $286 because Seneca returned all the money as well. So I call NSLSC and the rep I spoke to told me that Seneca actually hasn't returned part of the tuition. At this point I'm livid. I asked the rep to send me a letter that states this so I can send it to Seneca the rep said it may take 10 business days. In the mean time I contact Seneca again but this time no one is answering my emails. This school is beyond unprofessional and are scam artists. If you can avoid this school I would highly recommend that.

Very disappointed everyday I am going to the library just to have secretary vacuum and use chemicals (which smell) while im studying! Caretakers should not be vacuuming while students are studying or using chemicals around them.

I want to give them zero but sadly i cant? Please if anybody is planning to come to this trash, then pls dont come

I apologize upfront but I am totally not satisfied with professor and staff here at Seneca college at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology department. No one supports students. Prof.asks to follow instructions and then when we exactly follow they bring up something new. IF I HAD AN OPTION TO GIVE NEGATIVE REVIEW I WOULD GIVE -5 STARS.

Attended the seneca tour today and received constructive detailed feedback from Jim Greaves for my portfolio for the animation program, also attended informative sessions from Sean Craig

Terrible service at the Registrar Office. I couldn’t get ahold of anyone by phone and rarely did theservicehub ever answer their emails in a timely matter. I waited 5 weeks for an answer that had a deadline 3 weeks ago, and am still currently waiting on a response.

I live 2hrs away from campus and had taken my courses online, so showing up there was not a useful way to spend my time given I work full time and they’re closed during the hours I could have come in.

I’d never recommend Seneca College to anyone pursuing an education because if you have any barriers you will not be assisted in a timely fashion and be screwed out of thousands of dollars for absolutely nothing.

Looking for good colleges? St Lawrence College or Georgian College are AMAZING.

Awful student council. The community is non existent. This school goes out of its way to make it hard for its students. Profs for my courses were complete write-off’s. Waste of time and money.

Seneca @ York is a fantastic college to go to! The people are very helpful and friendly and also good courses to take as well.

The school itself is not that bad but their administrations (especially registration office) is one of the worst among post secondary institutions in GTA. They’re not just interested in helping out students. If you have questions or need assistance you will have to contact many different departments. To makes matters worse, they are extremely slow in responding. Most of admin employees are unprofessional and they always sounds like they are bothered. Seneca is the one of biggest school but it doesn’t mean they are good. I have a lot more to say but simply choose a smaller public college where you can get better student services and admin support.

Very poor experience. From the experiences of dealing with the student advisor to registration.they messed up my graduation date. Would not recommend this school to anyone. Everyone gives different answers to your question and you have to do their job for them.

To get any problem solved you need to email 3-4 departments. If you send more than 3 emails to someone then you’re reported as a “aggressive student” and plagiarism is rampant and undisciplined.
The betrayals at this school are ridiculous and only people with a 4.0 average get the WIL program (coop).

So glad to almost be free of this place.

Profs here are extremely petty so if you dont get along with them then prepare for a lot of grade appeal applications.

Very poor and discouraging experience. About 25% of the profs are great, but a lot of them are under qualified and almost treat it like glorified high school. The culture of the school is definitely top-down, and not partners in education. Also, I had a very terrible experience with their student counselling services. I am just one person, and I am sure others have had positive experiences, but a lot of people in my cohort would agree with my feelings.

People at Financial aid and the registrars office are useless and incompetent. At this point it’s not even worth going. Don’t waste your time!

This place only cares about money and high standards reputation, not about education or you as an individual.

It great campus and easy to find everything as a student. Everyone I interacted with was very nice. Would recommend

Garbage. Spend your life slaving for your academics and they make it the dumbest hassle to get transcripts. Spent over $50 on orders for an employer.

EDIT: Alright, I one starred it at first… I admit, I was mad. But the credentials, and what I’ve learned (still could’ve been done through YouTube, plus a little guidance) have proved effective, I’ll have to give them that.

Paying $4k a semester for a 2 year program that is online where professors get paid to just READ off their slides, I can do that by myself. We still have to pay for textbooks. College is a scam, leeching off broke students. All the classes are outdated, why is learning about how to use PowerPoint/Word Doc a class in schools? No one in the ACTUAL world will care if you have margins of 1.5", this is an absolute joke.

Just dropped out of my program, and out of like 15 profs only 3 and a half have been good/helpful. Course material is outdated, as are most of the profs, who don't know how to use "Blackboard" and are very poor with giving instructions for assignments. They really need younger proofs who don't go on about stories about their lives. The profs just pile on work without making sure that their assignment doesn't overlap with another profs. 0/10 the radio broadcasting program is a shame, feel bad for those 3 good profs.

Currently a student, staff is very helpful and teachers do their best to insure that we succeed in our programs. I personally prefer the online platform since commuting isn't an issue among other perks.

I studied Acting for Camera & Voice at the Seneca@York campus, so my review comes from first-hand experience from a student's perspective. This campus is very small and is tucked away inside of the York University campus. It's a nice "High-school-like" feel that gives way to a learning environment for those who value community and connection. You will often see the same people roaming the halls, in the library and more. Plus, the Seneca@York student body organizes great events and mixers to help you foster a sense of community. The campus has a gym as well which is small but has everything you might need all the same. The library has a large number of computers and offers an opportunity for you to use Windows or a Mac. A great place to study for post-secondary education.

The student centre was very helpful with tutors and that’s the majority of good things I have to say. Currently in the Office Admin Exec program and regretting choosing this college. There are some classes that are very helpful and necessary, such as all the Microsoft Apps. However, our accounting teacher is self taught and has no idea how to use power point. The majority of the class couldn’t get the book for a month and have been lost since. The transcription class is a JOKE. The teacher will regularly start his classes 20-30 mins late and teach you the same thing you learn in two other classes. There is no curriculum or set schedule. Overall it’s not a bad program, but i wouldn’t do it at the York campus.

Starting Advanced Biotechnology in a few months. Can't wait to see what they have to offer. So far I'm feeling positive about what I see. The infrastructure looks clean. Just a few bad reviews but I hope it's all personal experiences and not facts.

Classroom doors are occasionally locked.students always ve to wait for their professors to call security to unlock the doors b/c apparently students are not allowed to request their own classroom doors to be unlocked!
dont be fool that there are printers in the computer labs/classrooms.these printers cannot be accessed via the computers.students must go to the computing commons to print.also, the library computers dont ve access to printers

Needed help for so many things to have a easy and peaceful semester.shahla saberinamin helped me so much she is the administrator person. What a wonderful person and such a hard worker went above and beyond to help me out. Thanks Shahlah

Horrible experience, some teachers make really hard quizzes so everyone fail and repeat the course, Seneca offices are the worst, they never respond your emails and when they do, they respond with a bunch of BS, I only lost 1 semester but thankfully they never responded me to change programs so I left. Stay away!

Stay clear of the Government relations program. It is a highway robbery, they will not provide you with jobs, and you’ll have to hear a bunch of BS from the program coordinator. If you get the right instructors they are helpful, but for the most part it’s a waste of time. You can easily spend this money on something useful!

Best campus. Feels like a small-knit community with amazing professors and faculty. And best services such as the library, Learning Centre, Financial Aid office, Registration office, Counselling and Accessibility Services, etc.

Student services are bad, along with the "accomodations" and "ammentities". Stay clear.

It is 50 meters away from the York University building, but the level and quality of this campus is more than 50 times better. This college offers less programs than York, but is cheaper, offers a paid-internship and job placement for most programs, and gives you a balance between theoretical and practical knowledge unlike YorkU. My son went to both and graduated from this Seneca tech campus last year, he is now employed full-time as a jr.under a good salary at a tech firm unlike his old friends from York University who are still struggling to find unpaid co-op.

What to call registration office at seneca york campus? Good luck with that, it took me around 30 minutes to try to reach them, and I was unsuccessful.

Best school, Good Staff, Knowledgeable teachers, Technology programs are the best here, industry focused, got the job even before finishing the studies, definitely recommended, 3D animation, Broadcasting, Nursing, Computer systems technology program, are the few of the best programs run here, people in the industry know this college and know the students who graduate here are one of the best and have the knowledge that the industry is looking for, and the skills as well, they actually would prefer a person from Seneca over anyone else.
