Thought it was pricy at first but they have very large portions so it's very worth it:)

The food was well portioned and seasoned, and the honey garlic fried chicken was delicious. They do not have as many pieces as others but are certainly bigger pieces. Staff were friendly as always.

Jonna doesn't taste good.
I don't know why the sour taste of jajangmyeon is so strong.
Stir-fried pork came out less than 5 minutes after I ordered it, but the food is very cold ;;
Which part of the meat do you use? Where on earth is there a restaurant that uses that kind of meat part for stir-fried pork?
It's ridiculous, but I drove a long distance from Toronto to do errands, and I was hungry, so I ate a lot, but in the end, I couldn't eat it all and threw away more than half.
To say something while calculating, what part of pork stir-fry do you use? Do you know? I did, but of course there is Ali?
I just thought in my heart, hehehe. Yeah, I'm not a frequent visitor to Waterloo, so I just came out thinking that I can skip this restaurant.

I went to Seoul Soul for the first time today on the recommendation of a good friend. We were a party of three and ordered three different dishes- Bulgogi Stew, Mandu, and Ojinguh Bokkeum. Frankly, it was all delicious, well flavoured, well cooked and plentiful. The waiter was very polite and considerate. I will definitely introduce this restaurant, in the heart of the Waterloo University ghetto, to other friends.
This is a casual, functional eatery, but the food is really good.

I have visited this place on numerous occasions and it's time for me to write a review. I have savored several delicious Korean delicacies here and introduced my family and friends to this restaurant. They, too, were impressed and it instantly became their preferred destination for Korean cuisine, just like it did for me. The impeccable service, inviting ambiance, and delectable, fresh food make it an unbeatable combination.

Tried the garlic chicken wings, the portion was good but the taste was average. Wanted a side of noodles, but they didn’t have that as an option I guess. Communication in english is a little tough here. Cash discount option available.

Seoul soul: #1 let's talk chicken. A small serving of one of their headline items will make you fall in love with this place.

Overall it's an amazing culinary experience with all of their items.

Downsides: are not that bad but being fair and balanced. The wait staff are a little inattentive. It took us 10 min before we finally gave up waiting and flagged down a server to take or order.

Bathrooms are unmarked until you locate the hallway by yourself and while I can understand this small resturant may not see this as a priority, they could use some TLC. Doors are aged walls have gaps and aren't even painted white properly. However they function and look like they are cleaned regularly.

This place lives up to the name by having soul. A bit more attention to restuanrt upkeep and proper training would take this place from diamond in the rough to full on Gem.

That being said: go the food is great and they definitely deserve your business

Our experience at this restaurant was a literally amazing. I don’t think I’ll ever have chicken like that again chicken seasoned to perfection good portion, hot fries, hot chicken, cold drink what more can you ask for I will be returning.

I love this place, and eat here frequently. The chicken is insanely good and the pork bone soup is a fav!

Ordered the yaki udon, honey bbq Seoul chicken and kimchi fried rice. I’d give the udon and chicken a 5/5 and fried rice 4/5. Not sure about the customer service at this place but the food is delicious and flavourful. Pretty pricy though, more expensive than even Toronto restaurants but I’d order here again.

My husband and I love this place! We were staying in town in Fergus and made the trip to come have food here. It never disappoints.:)

Home-style Korean dish. Price is not high but taste pretty good, very good for student groups. 3 people ordered a hotpot and we're good. Highly recommended.

The seafood Yaki Udon was so good. $20 for a decently sized bowl! They do offer a 5% discount if you pay cash with the same bill. The shrimp is baby & the utensils are just randomly out on a table in the middle of everything though.

This place is soooo good! I always get the fire chicken (so good) and their kimchi and potatoes they serve at the beginning are amazing.:)

The fried chicken is fantastic, on the softer side by great flavour. The jajangmyeon was very disappointing though and had almost no flavour. Overall would recommend the fried chicken but might be best to stay away from the noodle dishes

Their soups and stews are amazing! Moved from Toronto recently and tried a couple Korean restaurants in KW but this is the one for authentic Korean dishes.

Tried out the Korean fried chicken place in the University plaza. The prices are decent for the portions and the customer service was good (small business with a family-oriented feel). Got the soy and garlic chicken - it had a good coating of breadcrumbs but the flavour could’ve been more distinct. Overall a decent place to try

Heard great things about the Seoul fried chicken and can attest that the chicken definitely lives up to the hype! Amazing fried chicken that has an excellent light crunch coating, juicy tender meat, not too greasy, and tossed with a yummy spicy sweet house sauce. We also tried the kimchi fried rice and the jjajangmyeon noodles with black bean sauce - both were savory and tasty! The noodles and the black bean sauce were packaged separately, to my surprise, but didn't take long to toss the noodles myself with the black bean sauce. Looking forward to trying other dishes at Seoul Soul!

Ordered the lunch special of stir fried spicy pork for pick up. The food was delicious but a bit on the pricey side for the quantity given when compared to other spots at the plaza. I loved the pork and the side of potatoes but wish the potatoes were warm (not sure if they should be though). Defining recommend it when craving some Korean spicy pork

It was a good place to eat or just to hang out. The place was small but cozy. The server was friendly. I ordered spicy squid with rice, for about I think 17 CAD. Other than that, you could order some appetizers also.

John is a master chef. We are always welcomed like family. Their fried chicken is among the best I've ever tasted. And the pork bone soup is still my favourite.

Very affordable, efficient prep, great portions and delicious. Ordered the beef short rib with rice which also came with some side dishes. It is a part of their all day lunch menu, which was fantastic considering I was coming back from a day at work. I love supporting small family-owned businesses as I am always pleased with the service and quality - this was no exception. Recommended to anyone looking for a homey meal within an affordable budget.

We love going to this restaurant. The sweet pork bone soup is amazing. The age dash tofu is also amazing. The father is the cook and is a super nice human being. The daughter is behind the counter and is very sweet. I have been going here for years and we enjoy this family and their Korean Restaurant. Definitely a place to go to if you are in Waterloo at anytime!

Love this place! Having tried a ton of Korean dishes both here and in Toronto, I can honestly say this place is one of my favourites, and a go to when craving Korean food. The Jjajangmyeon and Soondubu Jjigae are especially good!

I ordered a pork soup before… they gave me a big half of potato in the soup without cut and it also had stale taste…. So gross! I persuaded your guy do not order their food…. Waste your money!

The fried chicken and tofu soup here is a must have. Had the food delivered fast and portion sizes were great, coming with all the side dishes you need 5/5 restaurant.

A bit pricey for the chicken but got a lot of it, so it was worth the price. The regular was huge! Very delicious. I ordered the soy garlic one and it was a bit sweet.

The labokki is phenomenal and staff so friendly. Service was very speedy too! Can't wait to order again.

Very good Korean style fried chicken. House sauce is nice and spicy! Good quality chicken, with a very nice tempura style breading. Would highly recommend.

This is my go-to Korean place, best galbi in town. Jokbal, soondae-guk, fried chicken, bulgogi, everything is honestly so good here. Service is always great, highly recommend! Honestly, very surprised the ratings aren't higher.

I ordered delivery via uber eats here last night. The bbq pork for two was really good, big portions and very generous with the side dishes!
I also ordered the bibimbap and they had followed followed my dietary restrictions of not including mushrooms.
All in all it is a must recommend for korean food in the plaza for ordering takeout. (plus it has some of the best potatoes I have tried in Waterloo

I don't know why this place has such low rating when the food is so hearty and delicious. I've been coming to Seoul Seoul for 10 years now from when I've was a student to now. It's my favorite Korean restaurant and their pork bone soup is the best! They gave you huge portions and it's a cute mom and pop restaurant. Good customer service too!

Bad food, preheated and served $15 for a breaded chicken with plain rice. No taste not fresh. Do yourself a favour and save money. Avoid this place. The chicken found at food basics for like 20 piece for $10.that’s what they serve you.

Very enjoyable. The potato side is worth the trip all alone. Savoury and sweet. I found the staff helpful and friendly. They were very patient with my inability to speak Korean. Regulars came and went while I listened to KPop and ate my yummy noodle and rice dish. Very few vegetarian options, but that is not a complaint. Decor is simple and that is great. I faced none of the challenges posted by others and will attend again when back in town.

I really love the potatoes that come with their side dishes. Best potatoes in all the Korean food places in the area in my opinion. Other dishes are good, pretty large portions for a reasonable price.

I was a student and came here 2 years ago. Service was terrible the time I went with my friend. And food was overpriced and mediocre at best. I had an altercation with the restaurant owner because she straight up demanded higher tip from both my friend and I in the most rude manner possible, which I thought was straight up bizarre behavior coming from a restaurant owner. After that I never went back to the restaurant even once. This restaurant is also situated in an unfortunate location of "student ghetto" along with many other low quality, overpriced restaurants. So yeah don't come here.

Easily the worst place in the plaza. I don't even want to recall the memories required to review this place.

Food is 9/10, service was great, The owner at the cash register is the only depressing thing about this restaurant. I have a feeling she takes all the tips too.

Came for the Korean Pork Bone Soup only. The broth had a good level of spice and decent flavour. There was a bit of a weird (subtle) smell from the food at first that went away. The soup had plenty of meat and it all came off the bones super easy. Like, the easiest I've ever experienced. I was also pleased the soup had a potato in it like it's supposed to. The rice was good. The side dishes had good portions, but they were a bit disappointing (the kimchi especially needs to be better). Overall not a bad experience, would come here for soup again.

Seoul Soul is so cute - I love their gamja tang and potatoes! I come here all the time and it never disappoints. Great for a fairly fast an inexpensive meal

Large selection of great dishes but the star of the show is the Potato side dish served with your meal. I recommend any of the lunch specials but especially the spicy pork!

Most of their dishes are underwhelming but their pork bone soup is good. I would like to give this place more since I used to enjoy it so much before, but there are better places nearby. In terms of service, they are very nice and welcoming.

The food was definitely pre-made and reheat when we placed our orders. The look on the food was old and also tasted old. The best part of our meal was the tea.

Good Korean fare. Just wish they served the meat dishes with the typical lettuce and perilla leaves for wrapping the meat. Pickled daikon would be a welcome addition as well. Otherwise, pretty authentic food overall. Sure do wish they had shabu shabu (샤브샤브) though!: -D

The food doesn't taste fresh. I love Korean food so much and this is one of the closest Korean restaurants to Waterloo. But I was really disappointed in both the service and the quality of food. It is really overpriced for the quality that you are getting.

Never had Korean food before. This place did not disappoint! Loved all the unlimited side dishes. The sauce on the potatoes is to die for.

*Does not accept credit* Food, service and atmosphere could have been a lot better. Had to return one dish of udon and seafood because there was hardly any seafood. I had to get up to get my own fork because waiter was chatting. Was sitting next to a TV and the volume was obnoxiously loud. I likely won't return.

Used to go here all the time when I was in university, best Korean food I've ever had and the staff is always really kind!
