Serano Bakery

Recently visited a friend in Picton and brought her and her family a variety of sweets. Her son quite enjoyed the Christmas themed donuts with the creamy filling. She enjoyed the apricot jam cookies. The service was speedy and they decorated the box nicely with ribbon. Great to see how much this place has grown over the decades and the quality remains excellent.

Located in a small plaza with plenty of parking spaces. It is easily accessible from Pape subway station and close to Greektown Danforth. Huge bakery inside. Very Bright and clean. The owner & staff are nice and friendly. Well stocked with great selection of pastries, cakes and traditional greek treats to choose from. There is also a corner store supermarket-like section for customers who can shop the traditional greek items like yogurt and sauce. Highly recommend to anyone who loves desserts ️️️️️

Everyone always raves about the treats we get from Serano. They never disappoint. They are well worth waiting for, as the bakery is often very busy.

Wonderful job they do here, pastries are awesome, staff is very friendly and helpful. The only issue are big lines on Sat mornings, as everyone likes the place. Maybe having more staff will help.

Best bakery in Toronto for fresh pastries and savoury pies. It was a great little secret spot before, but now it's become so popular and it's busy all the time. Great job by the employees there who keep the lines moving.

Got birthday cake here twice and they were great. The gusts enjoyed it and asked where I bought it.

Super convenient for me. Fresh bread / desserts. Bagels are great. The last many times I’ve gone in I have given up after 10 minutes of waiting. Expect to be waiting at least 30 minutes on a good day.

The Greek desserts are amazing. There is always a good variety. You can even buy Cypriot Haloumi (Greek Cheese), Tsoureki (Sweet Bread), bottled desserts, Greek Coffee, and more!

The most divine cakes ever! Personally loved the chocolate and strawberry shortcakes. Called for a party and the person who served me guided me and was courteous about suggestions. Honestly would never go anywhere else for my cakes.

No, thank you. Cakes are intended to create beautiful memories, not nightmares. At $3-4/piece I shouldn't have expected much. Dry, not fresh at all.

The food is absolutely delicious, but I avoid going in because the women who work there are super rude, and lack any customer service skills. They seem annoyed that someone is in the store, and make no attempt to acknowledge anyone unless the person is Greek.

It also appears that no one who works there has heard of Covid.

Both the times I've been there so far, the service has been great. First time, bakery was closing and couldn't buy anything so the gentleman gave me a free loaf of bread! Second time, called ahead in the afternoon and was able to hold an Olive bread $3.75 (only 2 was left) and pick it up along with Taramosalata $4.28 per small container, Spinakopita $3.50 and Nutella cake Slice $3.75. Bread was soft and light crispy crust. Taramosalata was a little too salty but creamy, still good. Spinakopita perfectly flaky and really delicious. Yet to try the cake, soon! I was afraid of CS and crowdedness due to the reviews but I didn't experience that. This gentleman walked me to the sections and showed me things and suggested the cake slice. Will be revisiting.

So glad I found this place! I tried it once and it was the best experience ever. Their pastries melt in your mouth and taste so delicious. Definitely recommend!

Know this place since it was a dark, few old counters, sweaty owner attending, old fashion neighborhood bakery many years ago. Today is a citywide reputable bakery store with branches. Always friendly and efficient service.

Amazing bakery and delicious delicacies. The staff members are extremely helpful and friendly. They have reasonable price with good quality and quantity. The best part is they have majority of the cakes in pastry form, so you can try the pastry before finalizing your cake for the big or small celebration. They have wide variety as well. Would definitely buy again from this place! Also, their Nutella cake is Amazing!

Great selection of baked goods. Always fresh. The ticket system and ordering can be a bit chaotic and prices are not always clearly displayed. Online ordering and pick-up is convenient but my order was not ready when I arrived.

Serano Bakery sells good pastries, but I would not recommend ordering a custom cake from here if you have an eye for aesthetic detail and if you can tell the difference between quality and amateur baking.

I figured since they are always busy they MUST be good, so I decided to support this local business and order a custom cake for a BaByQ we were having. I'm sorry to say that I was quite disappointed with a couple of things.

Firstly, I gave them an inspiration photo, and they immediately admitted that they weren't going to be able to replicate the design exactly as I wanted. I decided to go with them anyway, because the price was decent. When I saw the cake, though, I was first thrown off by the colour. They interpreted the beige/brown cake in the photo as a muted pink.not the same. What's more, the details on top were EXTREMELY boring and flat. The piping lacked dimension and creativity.

Secondly, the quality of baking was not what I expected. The cake was super dry (almost burnt on the edges) and the buttercream lacked any sort of flavour or substance.

Since then, I've provided the same inspiration photo to another caterer/cake artist out of town, who blew me away with her skill in both developing the design to suit my needs and produce a deliciously moist cake with velvety smooth and tasty buttercream. This was the proof I needed that my expectations were not at all unreasonable.

Again, their pastries are delightful, but I cannot say the same about their custom cakes.

I always play this place a visit when I'm in the area.great dessert and gelato. Only reason it gets a 4 is because service isn't the best tbh and parking is a problem.

Best bakery in and around the downforth. Impossible to choose favorites, but do yourself a favor and try one of their pies. Blueberry would be my recommendation, not something you traditionally find in a Greek pastry shop but it is mind-blowingly amazing.

Great cakes, and baked goods! Not sweet at all. Don't forget to check out their great gelato as well! Staff are friendly. Gets quite busy and parking are limited. I suggest going before 11am or close to closing.

Great location for fresh baked goods. Terrific assortment of fresh, custom-made, baked caked, cookies & baklava. They also have a great variety of fresh Feta cheeses & olives on site. We came away with some mini stuffed pasty donuts ‘kok’, baklava & feta (of course). A super experience that we’ll be sure to go back and enjoy again and again!

Love their pastries! The mille-feuille and spanakopita are to die for. Also love their strawberry shortcake, cheesecakes, tiramisu, and chocolate cakes!

Clean and organized. Was disappointed with my galaktoboureko though. I had bought one for a backyard visit with and a second one for my home. It was nice and warm and I was eager to try it so I tried the one I got for home and it was delish, this was early afternoon around 3: 00. Later that evening I tried the one for my friends and I was extremely disappointed. It seems that once it cooled down there was a bitter taste and cardboard like texture to the Phyllo. Disappointing indeed. For the most part their pastries are pretty good.

I went there just for their Almond Cookies, we usually make them in Libya and wanted to try the greek version. It was good with extra flavour of orange blossom water. I ended up getting butter cookies and pistachio baklava; both were good. However, the baklava was so sweet and soft not crispy because they added so much honey. It’s very crowded with limited parking spots. Nice staff. Overall a must visit ️

Products here are great, customer service systems are not. Waited 30 minutes outside for a cake I pre-ordered and pre-paid for. Walk-in customers who arrived after me we’re getting stuff and finished before me. Makes no sense.

Without even looking I can only imagine how many other 5 star reviews this bakery must have. I was hosting a party for a Greek family and the desserts I bought from here were perfect and delicious.

I love Serano. I loved this place since I first went there 8 years ago. I'm not going to say how awesome the feta we can find there, not going to say their profiteroles are the perfect cure for my homesickness or that using chocolate cream as eclair filler makes them dreamlike, no, I want to underline how "human" and "beautiful" this place is by how they treated my 7 month pregnant wife. The cashier complimented her (and "the way she carried herself" -an alien concept for me) so much she talked about her and this bakery for 2 days. And I listened because she literally glowed! Not figuratively! LITERALLY!

Then we ate.and our little one smiled like we did.

The staff were very kind and generously gifted some extra loukoumadis when I ordered as a walk in near closing time. I can't wait to order some more baklava from them again!

Been a long time fan of Serano Bakery. Only wish the cakes had some sort of divider on them or in the box, cakes were a bit mushed which ruins the presentation of these wonderful products. Other then that it was beyond amazing, Baklava Cheesecake best invention ever, I love cheesecake and adding baklava so yummy

Order anything off there menu you won't be disappointed, I've been ordering through Doordash since they were added which was a Great Surprise? Since Covid-19. Will be a continued customer for Life? Got the hubby hooked on their delicious items too

I ordered a pink baby shark cake with strawberry filling with the writing "Happy Birthday Chloe". None of which were correct. It turned out that the cake was somebody else's cake. The bakery called back to give a full refund.

The best Greek Pastries in the city! I live in the Beaches, this is a great place.
Its like being in Greece! Need Greek olive oil imported ftom Greece look no further. Great selection and service near Greek town.just a five min.drive and free parking. Try it once, and you will never go no where else.

They were/are my favorite store when it comes to buy my Birthday cake and pastry but recently the quality is not as before. Also, I found it very sugary. I am still going there as their variety are higher than other stores.

Love this place. I live over an hour away but will make the drive every few months to get my fix of great pasteries and other Greek products. Well done Serano. Well done!

My first time, although I live in the neighbourhood! What a wonderful cornucopia of delicious sights and smells. The staff are for the most part efficient and brisk. One exception was a young lady who helped me with the overwhelming selection. I was bringing dessert for an event, and she was so helpful, with selections, displaying them nicely in a box, wrapping it with a pretty bow and giving me samples. She was a breath of fresh air and the delicious treats and her exceptional service will make me a repeat customer into the future.

I got a slice of the baklava cheesecake.possibly the best dessert I have ever eaten. I was amazed by how beautiful everything looks! This is a place I will stop by every time I visit Toronto.

Best traditional Greek cookies ever had, Kourambiedes (white sugar butter cookies) and Melomakarouna (brown honey cookies). Will post pictures next time, enjoyed them immensely did not even think about taking a picture. Next time. Not a big fan of sugar but these are a once in a while joyful treat. Had them first time at Christmas and later this year and was simply amazed by the mouth watering experience every time. Well done Serano’s pastry chef! I will definitely make my way to your bakery. Wow!

This is literally heaven on Earth. The best bakery in the whole city, hands down. An insane variaty of cakes/sweets/cookies, which are always fresh in combination with welcoming staff make this place so popular, no kidding, it almost always has the line of customers, but don't worry, it definitely worth it.

Clean, friendly, and absolutely amazing desserts and treats! We drive over an hour from out of town to come here, it's the only bakery we will go to!

Been here before and I liked it.went here again and I loved it. So much options! They were very busy but very efficient and smart using a number ticketing systen. Price was decent and looks like they were made fresh. I've never tried baklava before so I orderes their mini ones. Holy smokes they were sweet but tasty. Good for sweet tooths and to be fair, I can't really compare. Will come back to try their other goodies next time.

It was selections of pastries, and my favorite donuts. It was so good. Love it I been here almost a week to have some sweets to eat. Awesome staff.

My family has been going to Serrano Bakery for years. It is the best bakery hands down. From the quality of their baked goods right down to the service can’t be beat. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and warm. I always get a good feeling when I walk in, even though I may have to wait a bit. Believe me though, it is well worth the wait! Love this place!

I can surely say that, every time i think of bakery this is my first choice always. One of the best in city. Its not just me, the views speak alot
