My wife booked an appointment online for me.i had to wait a couple of months but i wasn't in a rush a we didn't need our passports urgently- if that had been the case i would have gone to a passport office instead.the agent who checked me in was pleasant as was the one who reviewed my forms.my passport arrived in under 3 weeks and my whole experience was 5 star!

Went to submit my son’s passport applications (without appointment), took 3 hours in total. The guy behind the desk said Mondays and Fridays are the busiest (I went on a Monday (Jan 2023).
First you line up for a ticket number (this part is fairly quick), the lady also checks all your documents to make sure you have everything (so you don’t wait 3 hours for nothing).
Would recommend making an appointment (it’s 2 months out), but if you walk in, prepare to wait a while and bring snacks

Fair Warning.
This office takes 5 weeks to process your passport. Don't spend an hour and a half in line to find this out at the desk, like I did today.

Busy as always, people come for the reason, free parking around the building and the shopping plaza adjust to the center. Passport application forms can be downloaded from the website, that way you may save some time ahead.

Whoever is working at counter 7 on September 1st, needs to do a module on customer service…my kid could do a better job. Very rude and lacks customer service. I came an hour before to renew my passport. I let them know that I would need just the first page of the application because it teared on my way here. The guy at the door said no problem, they can help. When I got to desk 7, she barely acknowledged me (did not respond to my greeting). She had the nerve to open her mouth and say she can’t accept my form although I asked her for just the first page. She flinged her hand to basically no where and stated I need to go up.up where?

AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS!

I accidentally went to the wrong location to renew my health card. This asian guy with glasses somehow thought I was speaking Chinese even though I spoke English and threw my stuff in my face and then walked away. I didn't get his name but just a heads up for those who are planning to go here, beware of this guy because he will do something disrespectful. I understand that I made a mistake, but was it necessary to be so rude about it? This place needs to train some of their employees better; being rude for no reason to a customer is unacceptable. I would never come back and would rather drive further for better service.

A spacious place with very helpful and friendly staffs. I was a Walin-in, set my foot in at around 9: 50am, and was out by 11am. Although there were a lot of people waiting, but staffs were efficient and service they provided was remarkable. The best Service Ontario I’ve ever been to.

Very rare to have good things to say about public services, but this service centre is a stand out. I was impressed by how quickly they were able to manage queue and process my passport application. All staff were respectful and super well mannered.

There will be a line up (I arrived at 8am before the opening time at 8: 30), but even without an appt I was able to get serviced at a reasonable time.

On April 6,2023, I arrived at 8: 15am. There was a line outside with about 18 people ahead of me. At 9: 03am I registered at the front desk and at 9: 25am I was called to process a passport for my adult daughter. I was done at 10: 10am. The security guard, Sergio was extremely helpful. I originally went to the office on March 28,2023. Sergio asked me a few screening questions that save me from waiting in line for 3 hours unnecessarily. I had completed the wrong form for my daughter. She needed a new passport form not the renewal form that I had with me. He gave me the correct form and advised that I show up early in the morning ideally a Wednesday or Thursday as they were the least busy mornings. Hence why I attended the office on Thursday April 6th. It was a smooth process. The passport arrived on April 20,2023! Sergio, I appreciate the extraordinary customer service.

I was having some issues at another service Canada. I came over to this location I was able to talk to the manager Kurtis. He listened and was very helpful with my situation. The staff was friendly. I has an amazing experience. Thank you again Kurtis!

Arrived here at 7: 50am on a Friday for a passport application. There were 15 people in line ahead of me. Out by 9: 26am at which time there were about 30 people in line.

Security guards and staff were friendly and helpful and provided estimates processing times (expected mail-out date of Aug 23 for applications processed today (June 24).

While the process was smooth, there could be a more efficient system here (with more appointments and check ins). If Ikea can do it with their returns why can’t the government?

renew my sin, pretty short line outside got served quick however a lost of 1 star due to the sin system being down and I had to wait until 2 pm for it to be back up. Staff were really friendly and helpful! Just come in the morning w a charger and be patient. Everyone was nice except for like 1 janitor, overall sastified!

The failure to communicate information effectively to citizens is astonishing. I made an appointment 2 months before arriving for a passport as the government website directed me to do so. With 2 separate confirmation emails indicating no issue with the process.

Upon arrival with all the correct documents, I was then told that the place I was directed to go to through official government channels of information. Was in fact the wrong place, and that I needed to go somewhere else. For trying to secure a passport earlier to prevent a congestion of the system for those who would need it much sooner I was also told by security that I would be better off coming within 2 DAYS of my expected departure time.

On top of this the staff member I was able to speak to spent roughly 30 seconds with me asking when my departure date was then promptly telling me they can't help with zero effort to address my questions or assist me in organizing myself to then find the proper "obvious" location I was suppose to go to.

I understand there may be short staffing and I do not blame the workers within for the misinformation I received. But the absolute disregard for further communication and clarification is unacceptable. It took me longer to walk from my parking spot to the office than it did for them to tell me they couldn't help me and send me on my way cutting off communication after that point

To those who may have to take a day off work, school, etc, be careful and attempt to confirm with whomever you can officially if you can actually be provided with the service you either booked or waited in line for.

Let me first apologize for holding the long traffic on June 8,2022. My son stood in line for me n was the third in line arriving at 6: 45 am. Guess his effort was all for nothing! I mustn't let one rotten apple to spoil the whole barrel. (of excellent agents from yesteryears). These 5 stars are not for " service not rendered" on June 8 but for all the kind, excellent n competent agents successfully accepted my mother's renewal application of her GIS.
It was an annual ritual. In the middle of the pandemic last year, I even managed to get my mother's renewal application done by adding myself as her POA. She is bedridden since July 2020.
Guess I was more shocked than disappointed when the so-called top person of the day couldn't get the renewal application done.
Mr Briggs the kind security guard had the honor of escorting me out of the place.sigh. Refused to be defeated I called the CPP/OAS GIS hotline for advise. The kind agent on the other line didn't understand why the renewal application couldn't be done n advised me to try another SC centre. Hold n behold how could I stand in line again as it was thenalmost 11 am. She also suggested of me heading to the nearest library to get the renewal form printed. The fact was I could have printed the form at home but my printer isn't working plus no legal sized paper. Since it had been uneventfully done at this centre for past 15-30 years I had gone there without the renewal form. Does it mean I have been spoilled by the kind agents all these years. The agent plus so-called manager on June 8refused to spoil me any more? !?
To finish my story, I managed to get this legal sized form printed at a friend's home. Pondering whether I should head back to this much memorable centre n hand in my mother's renewal application. It will be duly forwarded to the processing centre in Scarborough after entering into the system. Or I should mail it by registered mail at the Post office.
Let me put this way, once in doubt, ask.anyone who has more experience than you although you are in a senior position that day.
Similarly in an emergency situation a newbie n inexperienced doctor even had to ask a less senior person or a n experienced n veteran RN for assistance. This is a life and death situation.
It wasn't life n death for me but it was with great effort I managed to get into the centre on June 8
I m the primary caregiver of my 95 yo disabled mother. My husband working from home (my mother's home that day) stayed back to watch over my mother for me. My busy son took time off from his work n stood in line since 6: 45 am until 8: 30 am.after unsuccessful 2 trips on May 30 n June 3
Let me bid farewell to my favourite Service Canada centre at 35 Beresford. Sweet memories from yesteryears.

I woke up at 4: 30 to be at the front of the line.i started the line at 5: 20.at 8: 30 i was inside waiting and as were processing things, the scanners dont work.not just one but everyone that had one at their desk.theres lights getting fixed in the middle of this.the girl helping me was a sweetheart and did everything she could.however this is government…… get ur scanners fixed and ur lights working like this is ridiculous.get this stuff fixed BEFORE you open your doors.

I read the reviews before coming here so I knew what to bring along and expect. I arrived at 7: 15 and I was 40th in line and I was not seen till about ~10am (I think the first person came around 6am just for people curious, when at 8: 30am I believe there were ~100 ppl in line). The line wasn't awful, it was nice to talk to people but yes it does take awhile, so bring something to do. You do need to still have a mask but if you do not have one, just ask security as they were handing them out to people. I had no issues with staff as everyone I spoke to was polite, helpful, and knowledgeable along the way. There was I believe ~5-8ppl helping at one time and they were pretty efficient it seemed. I don't think its anyone's idea of how they would want to spend their day off from work but knowing what to expect definitely made my day easier to plan other things around. For sure if you can make an appointment do it, because you skip the line but I was unable too so you just have to get in line to be seen and wait around.

Horrible experience! People are not working here and they are taking their time to serve you. I was in a line for 5 hours and when I got in I noticed why you have to wait forever in a line. Workers are laughing and chilling with each other and if they want to grab a document from another room it will take like 10 minutes for them to walk, maybe eat in the back, gossip with their friends and then come to you.

EXTREMELY LONG line so arrive early & bring water/food + a place to sit. Arrived at around 7: 45am, waited 4 hours and got in. The waiting isn’t so bad as some reviews depict it. If you stay in the shadows you’d be freezing quickly, so make sure to visit the sunny area when needed.

Once inside, the place was very nice & the staff were all friendly, and the service was ridiculously quick - went to update my SIN number, took literally less than 2 minutes of service.

I applied on April 4 for Passport (Arrived at 8am about 15-20 ppl in line got out by 10: 30), it is now May 17 and they haven't even processed my application. They put it in system and that's it. My advice for anyone, don't apply at a Service Canada, apply at a Passport office instead (your travel date needs to be within 25 days). When I applied on April 4, they said it takes 5 weeks, it was supposed to be shipped out May 4 and I was told it would arrive by May 11-15th for sure. They did nothing with my application, I wasted time coming here. Online there's an application status check - don't bother, they won't call or email you. If you want to know what's going on with your application you have to go in office.
Traveled to Brampton passport office location (arrived at 6am about 10 ppl ahead), they sent a transfer to Hamilton passport office because they don't have pick up at Brampton (don't bother with this they will call once but Hamilton won't call again to tell you to pick up cause' they didn't look at application too). One week until my travel date, went to Mississauga passport office (arrived 4am with 12 ppl ahead) - here they will expedite your application (done in 2 days) and can pick up your passport from them.
Only good thing about Service Canada Richmond Hill is the security guard, she was nice. Other than that, Service Canada is no good with Passports, imagine over a month and a half and didn't touch my application.

I arrived here today at 10 am and it’s 3 pm and I’m still waiting! Funny part is that there is a very long line of people outside for hours and three security guards just chilling doing nothing except asking silly Covid questions and providing a mask, like nothing else matters!
Same goes with the staff who are always smart in coming up with excuses to do the least possible and go home and come back for another day of uselessness!
I honestly don’t know where we’re headed in Canada since most of what I’m experiencing is pure bureaucracy and nonsense and I guess it’s just gonna get worse!

DO NOT COME HERE!

Waited in line for 5 hours to get in, the officers came out and saw the line and told us we’d go in and that there’s nothing to worry about and that by 3: 30 he’d come out again and identify those who will not get in.

Then when we were about to enter, and the clock struck 4, he came out and nonchalantly said “sorry we’re closed”…
He lied and said that he and other officers came out and told the people that “you may not get in” but that NEVER happened because we’ve been in line since 10 A. M.
I saw him multiple times coming out and he never said anything about not making it to the people in line, no matter how long the line got, he would chat with a lady that he MADE SURE she got in. Because she was the last one to get in, and he rushed everyone else before her so she would be able to get in.

Absolutely the worst service Centre and the worst officers.
Shame on you.

Today, I visited Servide Canada, Richmondhill. I was asked to meet Mark, working there. At first impression of Him, I got a very good feeling about him with a good looking, Actually He helped me and my wife a lot to apply Allowance very kindly, I've never experienced this kind and bright guy before. General wait time is 2 hours unless it is by appointment.

As per covid related policy, please use better communication method other than making security personnel forcing people and giving command while federal employee looking away. There is clear policy of what is allowed and what is not, and this cannot be “forced” by security in their own interpretation just because that building is “government”. People are visiting “service” Canada not Parliament.

Just to get simple things done people should not be waiting as a mass for long period of time. Try imply some efficiency within your system and try categorize types of visit so simple things can be taken care of without having to wait 2 hrs for 7 mins of work. Just because passport walk in takes 45mins+ people with simple service request has to wait altogether.

And thousands of immigrants don’t speak english at all. Canada is country of immigrant, do you really think Canada can survive without foreign investment and currency flow made by immigrants in Canada? Please do not imply mockery tone against Canadian who don’t speak english. All we need was customer service not your self righteous judgement and stereotype towards us just because my dad do not speak english at sufficient level.

I have never seen service Canada having such autocratic tone against citizens. Just remember, some of immigrant parents may not speak english at all, but their children serve Canada in many different field of work.

After reading earlier reviews I went to this location on Tuesday morning at 9: 25 am expecting a relatively short wait time. Big mistake. I waited in line for 1hr 15mins before I was able to see a service representative. On top of this, when I did see the representative, she proceeded to tell me that they were no longer validating documents due to Covid. I protested stating that there was no such restriction online and I had waited inline for a long time. To her credit, the representative did relent and eventually process my request.

This service centre is a totally peaceful atmosphere and clean environment, and that has super friendly staff. There are some self-service machines where you can do your stuff. The centre also has a drive-thru service.

Got my sin number real quick within 10 mins. The security guard is very nice, humble and quick. Receptionist guy and Ms. Connie helped me to get it done in a couple of minutes.

Incredibly rude and condescending personnel. Prior to my turn, the staff members kept talking loudly and rudely to people - people who have recently come to the country with a great deal of stress and anxiety. They do not deserve to be treated with disrespect. I met with a white, middle-aged, woman, brown curly hair, who kept making unrelated remarks towards my work permit. Her supervisor, white, middle-aged, blonde straight-haired woman, showed many signs of incompetency in her supervisor-role. They kept making false accusations and statements, and getting worked up about it, creating a disruptive environment, while putting me in an uncomfortable spot. I was trying to explain to them that I had the law on my side with backup information but kept being interrupted and talked over. I was denied service.

Most of the staff at this location are friendly. The best one is a nice lady called Vasitha. Helped us twice and she is extremely caring, nice and respectful. You won't leave her desk until she gives you accurate information and does her best to help you and makes sure you understand what to do. Other staff, I would say, are just helpful enough.

Their hotline told me our call volume is too high so we can’t speak to you right now! They have no problems deducting EI premiums from your paycheque quickly but when you need EI they are too busy to talk to you! How convenient! After calling 8 times they finally put me in queue and told me the estimated wait time is 45 MINUTES!

Amazing experience! Arrived at 9: 02 am, verified documents at front desk, was officially told it would be a 30 minute wait, because they have to tell you that as a minimum. Sat for 2 minutes. Had documents processed by an outstanding rep, who was professional and friendly, explaining everything I needed to know, and answering all my questions. Left by 9: 15!

This place seems to catch some flak now and then in the reviews and some of the concerns seem warranted. Parking at this location is not great and its hard to find an open spot sometimes. Service itself is not too bad, but they do have times where nobody is being helped and they are just chatting with colleagues. They helped me with my case pretty fast and were friendly and professional so i dont want to come down on them to hard, but some of these things can definitely be improved upon.

I've been here 3 times, I have to say they are the best in government services. I don't mean the others are not good, I mean this is DA BEST. The staffs are so courteous with a friendly smile even McDonald's have to take the back seat.

This is the first time I went to this location of service canada, I went there around 930am, regarding to my EI claim. The reception lady (Short hair, African-American) was very friendly and I explained to her what happened to my situation. She guided me and then told me to wait someone to call my name.

I only waited 20 mins, and this lady officer (Short hair, glasses, also African-American) was very nice, she was patiencely to tell me why they didn't finish my file and helped me to fix it. While she was filing my document, we had some relaxing conversation, she made me feel so comfortable that made me worry-free.

But then she took me to the telephone section, she called the EI department. The EI officer in the phone was also very nice, and finally fix my claim. All the processes that I had was only 30 mins.

I am very happy I went to the right location.
