They have multiple, at least 3 screeners, “working” as shepherds instead of dealing with the actual passport applications.definitely seems like a faulty system when these employees are in a holding pattern a lot of the time while the line stays motionless. Not their fault, but this service ontarios seems extremely mismanaged

Exceptionally rude service. During my 90 minute wait I listed to one agent's rudeness to many clients so I approached with caution and respect. She was snippy and condescending throughout our interaction until I scanned the QR code on the sign for Service Ontario customer feedback. She then gave me the wrong centre code for the survey (tried to do it later and got an error) but her whole demeanour changed: patient, helpful, friendly. I *despise* coming here because I've had rude service so many times. The long waits seem inevitable but the rudeness is inexcusable.

Preference given to those with appointments. Walk-ins have to wait. My number was called on the electronic board, but no kiosk was open. I approached a kiosk that appeared to be open, but they said they didn't call me and offered no further assistance. I inquired at the information desk and they referred me back to the kiosk that initially refused me, who then served me.

I received suddenly a note your driving license is suspended when I went there they told me due to tickets and your number plates expired I didn’t receive any note no one inform me they are going to suspend someone s driving license they took all together $ 700.07 with out any notice or any explanation for them it is easy to get money I am a PSW and today I do t have money to celebrate my daughter birthday because of them

I had an amazing experience with an employee there I immediately knew she was going to be able to help me recover my identity.
As my vehicle window had been broken and wallet with no cash was stolen and the ownership to my vehicle was also taken I wish she was wearing a name tag so I could thank her personally on here. She has been the most helpful delightful person I've ever encountered at a service Ontario in the whole 16years I've had to use one of the many services Service Ontario provides oh and she had some wicked tattoos as well.

They were unable to perform the tasks that the head office said they should be able to. They sent me back to call the head office where support and supervisors said they should be able to take my license plates and give me a receipt. Supervisor Stephanie did not attempt to contact head office to help. When I called back she quickly hung up the phone. Very rude, very useless

The customer service was lacking with those in front of me in the lineup, particularly with an elderly gentleman. The attendants were abrupt and rude to most people overall. Not good for an institution called “Service” Ontario. Reluctant to go there again unless proper customer service training is provided to attendants.

Absolutely amazing service! They all knew their stuff. I arrived at the end of the day for a walk in and was out within half an hour with everything I needed and perfectly done!

I always go to this location and never had any issues with staff but today a older lady called "shari or sherry" was super rude, unhelpful. If she does not want to work, she should retire. Not fair to ruin the reputation created by the rest of the team that are indeed very nice.

As per the above review, there is an accessibility counter clearly marked and an appointment section roped off. There are numerous bulletins on the walls and doors indicating where to go for walk ins or appointments. No accesible client is ever made to wait for more then a few minutes, as they are pulled from the line and directed to accesible counter if they have not gone there directly. There are 24x36 “ posters that indicate where to go for appointments in that section. Bureau is short staffed just like every other business in the city /province. Clients do not have paperwork completed and/Id or documents ready. All this makes wait times longer. Staff are working as hard as possible with difficult circumstances/clients. Help wanted signs are posted for anyone who feels they can rectify the situation.

Book an appointment! I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. The seating area for people with appointments was clearly marked - I just had to look around a bit to get my bearings. The employee who assisted me was very friendly and helpful.

Workers who were there were nice. But closed wickets and long lines, this is an unemployment solution staring us in the face. I would go elsewhere or show up 15 minutes before they open. Otherwise an unreasonably long wait.

Booked an appointment online to renew my son’s Health Card. We arrived a few minutes early for our scheduled appointment and were in and out in under 10 minutes. Amazingly efficient and friendly service!

The older women were horrible, they had no idea what they're doing and are extremely rude.
They make people feel “stupid” or a child.
Just a warning they're incompetent, rude and virtually useless in any matter of service. Don’t waste your time here.
Fortunately, the younger lady there was fast, competent and friendly.

This is the best Service Ontario! Nobody likes going to these places and it’s pretty much always a pain, but the staff here makes it such a pleasant experience. They’re so quick, super helpful and always really lovely to talk to - I’ll probably always book my appointments here! Whoever is in management, thank you! You’ve put together an incredible team.

When people make appointments, there should be multiple signs outside of the building on a stand so that they know they can walk straight in. I waited in line outside of the building for 20 minutes past my appointment time today and if another man had not arrived and gone straight in telling someone at the front he had an appointment, i would have likely waited over an hour. Once inside the service was great. If the workers could see out the window, they may be inclined to come out and see if anyone waiting the entire strip of the plaza has an appointment to come right in. The people in there are working hard, but for people that make appointments as per the website recommendation, it isn't appropriate to have them wait this long outside without knowing the process.

Please put a sign outside stating, people with appointments can walk-in and they have separate line inside! I had to wait in line with the people who had no appointments for 15 mins and then figure it out on my own!
These instructions would save tons of time for people who have appointments!

I stood at the front of the lineup for 20 minutes because only one person was accepting clients at his window. Happens he was new and therefore couldn't do name changes but only renewals. All the other agents were doing work on their computers but not seeing anyone. The lineup was far outside the door by the time I left.

We are asked to be kind and not behave abusively. My experience today says it should work both ways. After spending 2 hours of my time and arriving at wicket 4, the woman working was loud and abrupt when I had genuine questions and concerns about a hick up with my online renewal. Shame, service is in your name and perhaps your staff need to be reminded of it. Privacy should also be respected.

There was no rush, but I'd like to talk about employee over there. She asked us for an ID proof, we gave an G1 with a sticker for G2 when we pass G2. She had no idea whether it is valid ID proof without a paper that comes when we pass G2. It was quite irritating because you guys are dealing with people patience & life. Please have some knowledge check before start the day.

Despite many bad reviews, my experience with the location was very good. With an online appointment made ahead of time, I was served quickly and the lady was very friend and helpful to change the address for my car permit, and helped me renew license sticker additionally. Only suggestion to them is to put sign there for lineup with appointments. Always suggest to make an appointment before go there to avoid long lineup.

Beyond shocked.

After two hours in line was told they only accept cash for the Commissioner of Oath. No signs about this anywhere. I was told by the woman it was the franchisers decision.

Left without getting anything done because I did not have cash.

Went to a Service Ontario in Stittsville the following day. Signs all over the place that they prefer card payment due to Covid, got everything done quickly and without drama.

The place on Merivale seemed to be off the rails.

Service was spotty. Service person jumped to confusions and immediately misinterpreted my reason for visit. Later she rectified this by a compliment. It ended well. My 3 month over 80 odyessy is over.

Long line, waited about 2.5 hours almost for address change, and license. When finally helped the clerk was very pleasant. I do suggest making an appointment and not just showing up. You will be waiting awhile.

If possible, book an appointment before you visit service Ontario. It will save you so much time. Because I had an appointment, I was in and out within 10 minutes. The lady who served me was very friendly and helpful. If you need immediate service and booking an appointment isn't an option, prepare to wait a while before you're served. Also be sure to check out their services online before hand to confirm that they A) have the service at your location and B) the service isn't already offered online.

As soon as the staff saw I was trying to licence a US car things went bad. The staff and their central help person did not understand what a US Federal export stamp and title search proves. I was refused help and told to contact the Service Ontario 1 800, which in turn had a different opinion. I went back into the location with the 1 800 agent on the phone. I was then given an affidavit form and sent away again. I now have to re book and use the exact same documents. So much for stay at home, they sent an older man away to return again, rather than complete the affidavit today. The whole call was recorded by the 1 800 agent and could be used for training purposes if anyone actually cares. Pandemic trumps power trip/ego issues.

Lady was screaming at customers about being late for appointments and stated they needed to leave. Manager was allowing her to scream and be rude although the other customers were not doing anything wrong. They stated they were on time but the lady wouldnt listen and kept screaming. Absolute horrid service and that employee needs to be reprimanded.

Called first to make sure I need to go in person.wondered that the phone system might make me to jump through some hoops, surprisingly, a warm voice answered after two seconds.after hearing my situation, she told me what to bring and how long I have until the closing time.
Once areived, joined a line stretched outside the building.glad it isn't cold and the line moves fast.the atmosphere inside the office is peaceful and relaxing, as I did not hear any of those commonly bureaucratic words.all the transaction/case officers talk in the famously Canadian ways with personal greetings and polite instructions, even during the rejection case before me. I can tell the spirit is not low, and none are stressed out by the dragging pandemic.

The lady I dealt with was rude and confrontational with both me and the person in front of me. Didn't help me with what I was waiting in line for 30 minutes to do. Terrible customer service. I was fairly certain this employee was unnecessarily giving me a hard time and drove to another location (Westgate). Super friendly staff, helped me with what I needed. Avoid the Merivale location always, not worth it.

Special shout out to all the ladies behind the desk who remained very composed and calm while we all had to witness a particularly difficult and rude man this morning, taking his frustrations out on the employees.

In Oct 2019, we needed to replace a lost Handicapped Parking Permit for my father who is ninety-three. Thanks to the staff, we were able to do this without Dad having to wait in line, and we had our temporary permit within 15mins.

This kind of service makes all the difference to seniors.

I have been in on several occasions with two seniors over ninety. Each time, the staff showed extraordinary patience in helping them understand what was required and why. They also provided priority seating for people with walkers - a big help.

Beyond unacceptable service. Had to return on 3 seperate occasions as a result of being misinformed on required documentation and signatures. On a seperate occasion, i called to see if my plates which were in poor condition qualified to be replaced for free. I was informed that they were not and that if i wanted new plates i would have to purchase them. One year later after acquiring a new car the same poor condition plates which were to be transfered onto the new vehicle were suddenly deemed replaceable at no charge. Painful experience.

Went there a week ago, to ask what documents we need to transfer my daughters car to me, as she is moving out of town. They gave me one form to have my daughter sign. I asked if she had to come in with me and they said no not at all - just need the one form. I asked if I needed a valid safety - they said no as long as it is still registered it is all you need. Waited an hour to hear this and told I didn't need to wait in the line for general information.
Went back today and was told we cant do unless both of you are present and our commissioner of oaths is here and you both pay twenty dollars to swear an oath. I explained I wasn't advised that last time - they shrugged. I said she's out of town. Oh and then they told me I need to have a valid safety and then also pay taxes on the book value of the car. So, at the end of it all, I asked would it be easier if I just buy the car - they said no. I am told to tell her to go see a lawyer or notary and pick up a form from service Ontario in the city she is in, then have it notarized and mail it to me, and then I take that to a commissionaire of oaths here and half my half sworn and then get the car a safety and then bring all this back to them to transfer it into my name.

Poor service, dirty floors, no air circulation. And a less than helpful attitude, and they rush to tell you things and the word you hear is no more than anything

I went to renew my health card. They have a number system so it's first come first serve. It took time to get to the front of the line. It took me only a few minutes because I was prepared unlike many before me.

I've been using this Service Ontario office since 1981. Service is quick and efficient, once you get to a representative. It's not their fault if the lines are long. (It helps to avoid going there near the end of the month.) Too many people arrive at the wrong place (it's NOT the MoT!) or don't have the required paperwork and documents. People think that they should be able to argue their way around incomplete documentation. Offices like these do NOT take their responsibilities lightly, and MUST do their due diligence.

I arrived at about 8: 50 (10 minutes before it opens) on Saturday and there was already a decent sized lineup. I was 15th in line. I waited about 30 minutes before I was served. But when I was about to leave, there was already a lot of people in the waiting room. It was cramped and there was barely any seating place. Luckily, I arrived early enough to not wait too long and I recommend others to do the same or else you will wait for at least an hour and not be able to sit dow. What I really liked about this place, though was that it's open on Saturdays as well.

Went there last week to obtain information about selling my car. The wait was long since it was the morning. However, when I was at the counter the agent was very pleasant. She was able to answer all the questions that I had. Overall, excellent service.
