Great management and staff! Coinciding with all inclusive utilities, Severn provides students with the 8 - month leasing option allowing for cheaper rent rates compared to other locations.

I lived at Severn Court for only 10.5 months and I cannot stress this enough. Do NOT live here. Do NOT send your kids here. I cannot speak for RA staff as I have never had an issue with them, but the manager of the complex is on a complete power trip, the buildings are filthy, and they have SEVERAL insect infestations of varying degrees.

Initially I did not have a problem with my original apartment, but my roommates were horrible and abusive. I was quickly moved into another apartment with roommates that I now consider my friends even after I moved out. I was very happy with this, and was hopeful that things would work out and that I would be able to resign my lease for the coming years until I finished my BA. Unfortunately, I had to break my lease after the appalling living conditions and lack of adequate action to rectify the situation.

Severn Court has an ongoing cockroach and bedbug infestation. This has been going on for months and the situation had gotten so bad that there were several cockroaches found in broad daylight and bedbugs crawling up the walls in my apartment.

If it were just bathroom mould due to poor ventilation or poor lighting and lack of space due to the amount of people assigned to each small apartment, I would have stayed and dealt with it since the housing market in Peterborough is so poor. However, for the outrageous price per room, and the disgusting living conditions, it is not worth it.

Do not live at Severn Court. Especially if you plan on having visitors or want to go home to visit family. You WILL spread cockroaches and bedbugs to other buildings due to the inaction taken by management.

It's undoubtedly one of the most affordable student residence in town. It's close to many bus routes. So one need not worry about missing one.

@dreamscafe&bistro.within 24 hours of moving to peterborough became my favorite place to spend time with classmates, friends and roommates. Its a great place to chill, have great conversations or do some work. The proprietor Gin.is amazing always so pleasant and friendly, always helpful, kind and professional.never gossiping. And knows his regular customers, regular orders.

It's moving day for my son today and I'm walking through of noticed that this place has not been cleaned. Kitchen counters are dirty their stuffed up to them there's food still on the kitchen floor the vent alone is disgusting. There is some weird stuff in the pictures on a wall outside the kitchen, and the bathrooms in both of them there's urine and stuff on the toilet still under the bowl the one sink is really gross there are toenails or fingernails probably toe on the floor in the bathroom around the toilet and on the dining room chair. The carpets are stained throughout the suite the walls are all scuffed up.and much more. Not happy leaving my kid and his roommates with this mess.

Benjamin House, the manager has always been very helpful and patient.
Top marks for customer service. Thank you Benjamin.

I wasn’t really considering Severn Court as an option when looking for a place to live, but they happened to have space, and I was desperate, so I decided to rent out. I definitely don't regret my decision. I don’t like sharing my space with people, so the private bedrooms really do it for me, plus it’s directly across from campus (Fleming College) and has all your electricity, water, internet etc.included in the rent, which is cool. It is close to some cool places like 180 Hunter Street, Silver Bean Cafe, and Gerti’s. Someone’s always there at the management office too if you need anything. I wish there was a gym, though.

Great place to stay, the staff has been really helpful and friendly.
All the problems get taken care of quickly.
At the end of my stay being an international student I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a decent place with facilities and very close to the college.

This place is not a good idea to live in! Honestly for 675 a month, you can find somewhere better. You basically live in a jail cell and walls are so paper thin you can hear everything going on.
But anyways, my experience at severn court was horrible. They had no way of matching people up to the ones in your program, just put you with random people. I was fortunate enough to have 2 roommates I ended up getting along with really well, however we had one roommate who constantly made threatening comments and Benjamin did nothing about it, even though I gave him a 3 page typed notes of every event that happened and he said it was not enough proof. That goes to show that severn only cares about money and not your well being or safety.
Such a money grab, stay away.

I lived in a student residence style building in another city and it didn't come any where close to SC for value. I don't have a lot of experience with student housing but SC is comparable in price but seems to be run much better than some of the other options out there.
14 June 2020 2:15
All of my memories of the 2 years I lived at Severn are so wonderful. I had an awesome group of people to live with and loved the staff here. Living this close to campus is also a major plus if you don't enjoy public transpo. I'm sure it's still as wonderful as it was when I lived here.
12 June 2020 21:08
I like that you get a really good base when you lease here. The units are mostly furnished so I just brought extras to make things really comfortable, like a topper for my mattress, pics, my coffee maker, etc. It definitely cuts down on the hassle of having to do a big move, especially if you'll only be here a year or two.
10 June 2020 1:12
There's 6 bedrooms in all of the apartment units but everyone gets their own bedroom, which is the best case scenario. Lots of privacy but time for fun whenever you want or need it.
21 May 2020 22:43
My first and only experience in student housing but it's been nothing but positive from the first day. For budget friendly and convenience, I don't think there's anything better.

Absolutely worst place to live! The General manager Benjamin House is a power tripper! Definitely not somewhere one is comfortable and feels at home. He seems to like to give visitors and parents a hard time. One time in specific he has given a parking ticket for dropping off groceries? Very disgusted with this staff member

I was willing to pay more for a nice apt but got very lucky with SC. The rent is very faire and it is right across the road from school. I am saving on my housing and my transportation, which is a good thing for any student. The staff are always helpful if I need any thing.
24 April 2020 9:36
Even though I didn't know a soul when I moved in here, I was quickly made to feel at home. It was comfortable and incredibly convenient for school. I took on a part-time job while at school and I could get there in a jiffy too with public transpo.
23 April 2020 3:04
I was willing to live further away from campus to get a good place to live but Severn Court gave me everything I was looking for and then some. Thank you!
19 April 2020 7:50
Fully furnished and off campus but not on it, this residence gives you awesome value for your student buck. I loved only needing to bring some personal stuff, which made the move in unbelievably easy.
28 August 2019 15:00
I toured Severn Court and liked what I saw, but still visited some other student housing options in the area for the sake of comparison. When you break it down, the value is excellent at Severn and there is nothing that compares with this location. Seriously nothing better.
25 August 2019 3:11
If I had to do college again I might have taken different classes but I would not change my decision to live at Severn Court. Felt like home. It will be a great choice for res for students who want some freedoms but also an ultra convenient location.
20 August 2019 15:20
Not the greatest condition of buildings, you can definitely tell that they are older buildings that haven't been properly maintained. Only about a 5 minute walk to and from Fleming College though which is quite convenient.
19 August 2019 12:47
A short walk to all my classes and always lots of fun to be had. In winter time it was the best for anyone who does not like the cold and the snow.
09 August 2019 10:16
I enjoy my time living here. It is just next to the college and buses are accessible for places to go from this location. It is a good residence to live and I would like to recommend it to my friends who would like to come here and stay in the future

I have lived at Severn court for over a year now, and honestly i quite enjoyed my stay here.

-I find the residence staff to be super helpful and friendly to me all the time,

- The on campus maids do a fine job in ensuring that the places we live in are clean.

-If you're like me and order packages online often, its hassle free to pick it up at the office.

-I've had some appliances not working from time to time, like my oven, but one quick email to Severn court and they had a guy come in and fix it charge free.

-The internet is not as bad as people say it is. I actually find it to be super fast and have never had a major problem with it

-Some people may have a negative experience, but as long as you treat the place you live in with respect, you will get nothing less back.

- Most importantly, i had fun. I've meet some wonderful people here that ill probably be friends with for the rest of my life, and nothing can beat that.

P. S.i go to Trent university, and i find that the rent here is a lot cheaper then some of the houses around Trent.if you're going to Fleming its only a 10 min walk away from the main campus, if that, which is a pretty big convenience if you ask me.
27 July 2019 7:21
I rented a suite here for just one year but it was an experienced I will not forget. Many new friends and a staff that are friendly and go above and beyond for their residents.
17 July 2019 19:41
Across the road from college and a nice environment all round. When I'd come home after class I felt totally at home here with my roommates. The roommate matching worked out really well for me.
04 June 2019 20:44
The individual suites or apartments are well equipped. Nice little kitchens and a couple of bathrooms per unit. Quality housing option for students.
22 May 2019 18:01
Originally when I came to look at this place me and my parents were talked up about how amazing and wonderful and safe this place is. Since moving in I've been let down by this place tremendously.
06 May 2019 13:50
Sharing a suite with strangers is really not bad at all here because you have your common living and cooking areas but your own bedroom. Being able to retreat to my room for a good nights sleep was well worth it for me.
17 April 2019 10:13
There is no commute but this is technically off campus. A great combination of student housing fun with privacy and good prices.
15 April 2019 4:14
This student housing facility is in an excellent location if you're wanting to be close to campus, stores and great places to walk/run/cycle. It's very safe - I was never nervous jogging on the paths in the area. I also loved the fact that everything was included because this is not easy to find in student housing.
31 March 2019 23:06
Super appreciative of their flexible leases, as I was moving in part way through the year. The bi-weekly housekeeping was totally worth it and the bbq area was sweet when the weather was warm. Severn Court had everything I wanted and needed in a res while at college.
06 February 2019 5:39
If you lived in res before you are in for a treat at Severn Court. A lot more freedoms, more space and still the same types of amenities and full-time staff.
17 January 2019 0:56
As far as affordable student accommodation goes, this residence gives good value. You pay more to live on the campus and I don't think you get the same type of experience. There's more independence at this residence and yet you are still close to your classes.

Currently living here and it’s absolutely horrible. I would not recommend this place at all, the pictures this place post are completely inaccurate the pictures Severn has online make this place seem like such a nice place to live, When that is really not the case. I’ve had nothing but a horrible time since I’ve moved in, they roomed me with 5 international students how don’t speak English or speak such bad English you can’t socialize with them. My place is extremely run down and over priced. My roommates locked me out of my house and I could see them sitting in the living room through the window. So I banged on the door for roughly 5 minutes and they would not let me in. When I brought this up to my building manager he told me I could of had the on staff security come and unlock my front door for $40. This is the on staff Security who’s office is about 50 feet from my front door. Is it just me or does this not seem horrible? And this is not even all I have many more horrible story I could tell about these last 3 months

I was going to live here for the school year, after visiting friends places so happy I didn't move there I recommend paying more and living on the on campus rez so much nicer of a place to live
