Shafali Indian Restaurant

Now where do i begin! The place is v well appointed and has a great feel but the food just did not work! A trifle salty and well different from the Indian food one expects!
We ordered butter chicken and saag paneer! Rice is served complicated with the mains!
Instead of saag paneer i think they served me paneer makhani and tried to cover it up by chopping in baby spinach!
Portion size is small for the money charged! Definitely not value for money! Rohan josh was too salty and returned! We were not charged for it!
Ravi the manager was vey courteous and which is why i did not give this eatery a One!
The washrooms are on the first floor and sadly do not have changing tables for infants! Thankfully they are clean

This little street cafe does their own spin on traditional recipes. I asked the owner to pick a vegetarian dish for me. He gave me Palek Paneer which was lovely. The spices instead of being strong and pungent blended beautifully into almost a floral aromatic. I loved that it was perfectly balanced with flavor and fat and unlike some Indian food was not oily. Truly a lovely dish and beautiful lunch. I assume the food was prepared by the owners as they were welcoming and friendly!

My wife and I had an early dinner while visiting Ottawa for the first time. Food was outstanding. Probably the best naan I’ve ever had. The chicken tikka masala was fabulous. My wife loved her aloo ghobi. Our server, Aditya, was charming and helpful. We’re so glad we decided to eat here!

The food was so great, love the spices and the naan!

Can I say 4.5/5? There is nothing wrong with the food but compared to other, some restuarants have bigger portion than this one and the price is almost the same

Bonne cuisine savoureuse, gentil serveur, dans une belle ambiance. La raison du 3 étoiles, c'est parce que l'entretien des toilettes n'est pas fait. J'espère que suite à ce commentaire la situation changera par respect pour leur client. Le reste du restaurant est propre cependant. Veuillez les encourager, je suis certain qu'ils ont compris le message.et vous ne serez pas décu.

Went for dinner. I had chicken Tikka Masada, cheese Naan and mango lashi. The food was okay. Just a little off for me. I do not know if I would recommend it knowing there are other tastier options out there. The service was top notch. The young man was very attentive and very kind. I loved the atmosphere.

Holy. Delicious. Went in for the very first time after a cold day of skiing and got the chicken tikka and some naan, I'm blown away. I will definitely return and recommend it to any.

Best Indian food in Ottawa hands down, I have been waiting two years and have tried a dozen places and this is the best. Curry is well done, naan is perfect, pakoras are delightful! I’d give it 6 stars if I could

My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner at Shafali. The restaurant has a great ambience, and the staff were excellent. Our food was delicious, particularly the lamb biryani, chicken dhansak, and the roti. We will definitely come back again!
