Great tasting food. Love the food especially the butter chicken! I have been here a few times and never dissapointed. Nice size portions, Clean establishment, lovely staff. Highly recommend!
By far one of the most delicious food I've tried but I must encourage you to try as youl need to witness for yourself hope it will be less busy next time don't like to wait when im Hungry
Bland food and small portion of meat for the price. Ordered takeout: 1 Chicken Tikka, 1 Dal Makhani, 2 Zaatar Naan. We received 5 small cubes of overcooked dry flavorless chicken. The Dal Makhani portion was alright but it also had no flavour. The naan was good but $4/naan is a bit pricey. Both dishes came on rice.
We're confused as to why this restaurant has a 4.8 star review. We were excited to try it based on reviews but were completely disappointed. Is this atypical? Would be interested to see a reply from management as to why it was so bad.
Some of the best food I have ever had! I highly recommend the butter chicken and samosas, but I have yet to try anything on their extensive menu that I did not enjoy. Plus, the owners are exceptionally lovely people who go out of their way to accommodate their customers and ensure the highest quality customer service. Wish I could eat there every day.
Fantastic restaurant The food is so tasty Generous portions. We did a catered bridal shower from shalom India. The guests raved about how delicious it was. The owner was super easy to deal with.
We have ordered take-out from the restaurant several times and the food has always been fresh and delicious. We will definitely order again in the future.
Ordered from here not too long ago. My son was anaphylactic to egg. They did absolutely everything to ensure he was able to enjoy the food too, even though some dishes were normally made or marinated in egg. They were INCREDIBLE! The food was absolutely delicious and I am really looking forward to my next meal from Shalom India! Amazing food and incredible customer service! Definitely 5 stars!
I live in Israel and before Corona started I would visit Canada and Toronto on a regular basis, both for work and to visit my aging Mother. Always one of the highlight of my Toronto visits, has been a stop at Shalom India either for lunch or dinner.
Shalom India is located in an unassuming storefront at the north end of the parking lot of the Promenade Mall in Thornhill, on Promenade Circle. If you don’t look carefully, you might miss it. But once inside, welcome to gustatory delights.
They have a varied menu. Their food is always fresh and always absolutely delicious. One of my favourites is their butter chicken, eaten with their crispy/soft, made on the spot for you, Naan bread. I usually order two of their chutneys, ulva (a spicy mint and coriander sauce) and their tamarind chutney (a sweet sauce) to dip my naan in.
The portions are enormous and their service is always with a smile. It's always a pleasure speaking with the owner Shachar and his wife.
Just recently, at the end of July, I was finally able to get to Toronto, to visit my Mother who unfortunately is not doing so well. In the year and half that I hadn’t been in Toronto, nothing had changed at Shalom India except for outdoor seating instead of indoor seating. The food and the service were still great and I very much enjoyed speaking to Shachar who was both excited at the upcoming wedding of his daughter and apologetic that he’d have to close the restaurant to his clients because of it.
If you really want to enjoy yourself eating and for a truly gustatorily pleasant experience (at a reasonable price) visit Shalom India.
What a delightful restaurant. Great food, great value, great service, ambiance, and wonderful owners. Was my first time there, but will now become a regular destination. I cannot get over how incredibly polite and gentle the owner was with some beasts who were obviously there to create a nuisance. I believe middle easterners. Looking for a ruckus. The owner is a far better man than I sm
Absolutely delicious food! Ordered the za’atar naan and butter chicken and we were very pleased with the amount of spice and perfectly cooked chicken. Love this place and always order from Shalom India whenever I come to Toronto!
Such a pleasure! A combination of ambience, courtesy, tasty selection, and respectful service… and even Kosher, for those who require it. Wonderful! Looking forward to my next outing! (I’m still scratching my head over bad reviews. Clearly, some people are happiest when they’re miserable and complaining …. Even when they have to invent a problem!)
Beautiful restaurant, very authentic, delicious food and top-notch customer service. Highly recommended! Will definitely come back with my friends and family.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. The zaatar nan was incredible, so was the dal, eggplant and stir fry. The owners are so sweet and accommodating. My daughter in-law was pregnant and over due and she went to eat at shalom India. They prepared a special dish that they claimed would put her into labor and it worked!
We have ordered take out from Shalom India many times and most recently a few weeks ago. We have found the food to always be delicious and the menu clearly indicates which items are gluten free and vegan, which is very helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant!
After trying this place out for the first time. This was the best Indian food that I have ever had. Even my wife is now a big fan. Cant wait to come back with more friends and family. I only wish I heard about Shalom India sooner!
Delicious, fresh and high quality food! Place is very clean and the service is excellent! Thank you Lori for ensuring our group had the most fantastic time!
I like this place! They provide marvelous food, they have a nice menu, The chef in that spot is well trained, I like very much trying all their food. The food is always tasty, the service towards the clients is agreeable. I often eat in this restaurant and I not even once was unsatisfied. I recommend it to all.
I ordered chicken tikka masala with rice, I have tried this dish from over 100 Restaurants around the world (England, Canada, UK, US, UAE, India, Iran). Tried the best and the worst. So I perfectly know how it supposed to taste like, Believe me from this Restaurant It was the horrible (worst) among all (I’m never going there again). 2 stars not one, just because it was convenient to order through app even though it took half an hour but still i call it convenient.
I normally do not leave reviews, but I was disappointed considering this place is rated 4.6 stars. I got the butter chicken and dal, along with two servings of naan. The butter chicken was not creamy at all and a dark red colour. The dal was overly salty, and hard to finish even with the naan. The naan was also not fluffy and we could barely tear it. I won’t be ordering from here again: (
Even if it wasn't the only Glatt Kosher Indian restaurant in North America, it would still be great. The nicest people you can imagine and marvelous food. One thing - when the menu says "one chicken leg" it's actually a whole bottom - leg and thigh. They're quite modest people! Lovely masala tea. Highest recommendation!
This place gives awesome service as well as yummy menu. The best spot around town. The drinks and food arrived quickly and the prices were fair. Highly recommended.
