Shangri-La Hotel Toronto

Best place in Toronto to get a nice relaxing SPA. Very elegant and high quality amenities with extremely well-trained and friendly staff. Lobby atmosphere is also very high-end with fantastic entertainments at nights.

Had the pleasure of staying here last week and was such a great stay

Had two adjacent rooms that connected with outter door
Very clean and little surprises for our kids upon arrival. Big shout out to housekeeping staff and management esp Aleandro Tiongco who we had the pleasure of meeting no ask was too big or too small extra waters towels etc he went above and beyond

Check in and check out was a breeze
Dinner and drinks in lobby lounge delicious as always
Pool area quiet and maintained with towels drinking water etc

We’ll def be back!

This hotel looks wonderful and suitable for relaxation as well as a range of recreational activities.

The hotel itself is very nice and just as you would expect from a Shangri-la, but there are details that need to be addressed such as towels with holes, the making up of the rooms and replenishing of essentials - including tea bags -, and so on. But those are easy things to fix.

We also had a slightly frightening security experience, so entry to the hotel needs better looking at, as well as better/more visible night security. Having an all night security person by the lifts would be a welcome addition.

Top notch hotel with excellent service. Pool and fitness centre definitely a cut above. Great service and we had beautiful suite.

The staff are very nice and thoughtful, especially Michelle and Edward. They always smile and kindly to try to help us to solve the problem.

We had a premium balcony room. Telephones in room didn't work.iPad could not hold a charge. Bathrobes were taken from room and not replaced. Service in the lobby was rude. I know it's a pandemic, but it's the Shangri-La, not the Shagri-Blah!

The service was amazing. The live music in the lobby was wonderful. The pool and hot-tub were great for the whole family. I would highly recommend the hotel and will definitely be returning.

We had an excellent stay. I know that the service industry is very stressed right now without the proper staff. There were moments of slow service here and there but the staff are really trying to make up the shortages.

Good hotel, they have a really nice pool and lounging area. The workout area is also really nice and they have good staff working in those areas. The front desk people are top quality too and extremely helpful

House coats in the room had holes and were definitely stained.expected better. Service was great in all areas. Room was clean.

Do NOT get married or hold any events here. The staff were so unprofessional and cheap, served watered down alcohol and argued they wouldn't serve wine despite servers going around doing it, and didn't serve the agreed upon menu. GARBAGE service and quality.

I loved my stayed at the Shangri- la on the weekend, it was priceless, The staff was warm and genuine food was great can't wait to come back.

Our sister-in-law and brother-in-law were SO KIND enough to gift us a small mini staycation for the weekend for my 30th Birthday and the entire experience was phenomenal! From the moment we checked in to checked out the Customer Service was excellent and such a smooth process. We unfortunately had checked in a lot later than we expected due to some unexpected changes in our schedule but we had requested for a late check-out at 3: 00pm and the staff were soo kind enough to accommodate to our requests. We had booked the Miraj Hammam Spa the day of our check out and had a few hours to kill, the staff at front desk were soo kind and accommodating to holding onto our luggage in the meantime. Overall Shangri-La was a FANTASTIC experience to have a relaxing staycation as locals within the city and we will definitely be returning locally and exploring other locations internationally moving forward! Thank you for all your wonderful stay, time and service!

I booked this stay for my husbands b'day. We loved it. We had a great experience service at bar and lounge was splendid. The front desk were very pleasant. Highly Recommended!

J'ai grandement apprécié le confort des lits, de la literie et des oreillers. Mais ce qui m'a impressionnée le plus ce sont les attentions de la femme de ménage!
Pressée, j'ai quitté rapidement et j'ai laissé plein de produits de soin de peau, de cheveux et de maquillage en désordre sur le comptoir de la salle de bain. À mon retour elle avait placé sur une serviette spéciale d'un côté les produits de maquillage et de l'autres les produits de soins peau et cheveux. Une attention qui m'a fait vraiment plaisir.

Our stay was flawless except for a key malfunction for the elevator (which was fixed immediately).

I recently had brunch here. Great service. Ordered French toast and pancakes. Portions are generous. I would've liked my French toast crisper.
Fyi: Afternoon tea is back and has to be reserved via email.

I was here in the summer time as well. Service was great. Food portion was a lot bigger than I expected it. The drinks were good. I just didn't like the yellow metal seats. If you're paying $40 for a glass of veuve clicquot they better have cushions at least.

All is well. Excellent stay. Only one minor issue. I received a bill for a minibar charge that we did not use.

Stayed for 2 nights. Was okay nice lobby and all. We stayed in the garden room, garden was nothing but a bunch of weeds with a single couch with no cushions. Very disappointing to pay extra for that.
Tried to go for breakfast and after waiting 10 minutes with no server coming our way we decided to go elsewhere. Most likely will not stay there again not a great experience.

Great pool and gym. Rooms are good. Service was excellent. However we had to many problems during our stay, hence only 4 stars. Hotel feels a little tired, particularly rooms.

Excellent customer service. Friendly smiling staff. We had a great time here.
One suggestion. Bath salts or oil or bubble bath cream for adding to the relaxing bath tub experience.

We used to enjoy this hotel, but the staff quality has declined severely. There seem to be too many working, but not enough actually managing or handling guest needs.
Food quality is great but don’t expect your order to be correct. What a comedy of errors!
There are other luxury hotels in the area - this one has fallen in service.

Shangri-La Horizo Veuve Clicquot outdoor patio lounge is a refreshing update! The brunch, all day menu, and curated cocktails with the aromatic scent of their patio helps calm and brings a wonderful experience either for brunch and evening nights out. Angela really defines the experience with her outstanding hospitality from her heart. She is literally one of the highlights of the experience with her connection and attitude with all the guests. She is part of the humbling experience of the Toronto Shangri-La experience!

Great welcome from staff when we arrived. The room was superb, very large, air-conditioned, a comfortable bed with sheets too soft! At our checkout again a very good service!

Hotel Shangri la and the lobby of the hotel are for me the most beautiful place in Toronto for enjoying and relaxing. The nice ambience, very friendly staff, make this place magical for rest, and enjoying.

Had breakfast at the lounge bar, Service was terrible. Took forever to get food. Meals were served at different times. I was finished my breakfast before the rest of party got their food or I even got my drink. When they finally did get their food it was not what they ordered. For the price you expect alot more.

Stopped by the lobby bar before a dinner reservation. Drinks were well made, a little overpriced but expectedly so. Seating is very comfortable and elegant.

Attended a wedding. The ceremony was held in a room surrounded in glass with beautiful lighting hanging from the ceiling.
Cocktail and hors d'oeuvre were served in the area in front of the elevator. Enough space but very limited sitting area. The server came around only 3 times with trays of hors d'oeuvre of very dry oysters in over an hour. Very disappointed with the food overall. The expectation was very high. The service was so so. Not great but not poor.
The location is inconvenient for wedding guests who must drive in from the suburbs. Traffic and valet parking cost should dissuade you from this hotel.

This used to be my fav hotei in Toronto. I stayed 3 times a year for special occasions. While some upper management staff is excellent, sadly service by lower level staff has been deteriorating. For example, room service food is consistently poor quality, the front desk doesn't try at all to give a little extra service for repeat customers like myself. Is it that hard to extend check out by 2 hours given that I have dropped 5k per stay? They can learn a lot from the Mandarin oriental chain.

Nice rooms. We've stayed before and will hopefully stay again. Unfortunately, the main restaurant is mediocre at best but the noodle house next door makes up for it.

Our family enjoys having Afternoon Tea in the Lobby Lounge. The service is always excellent and the lobby has many comfortable sofas to sit at. Afternoon Tea is really lovely in this setting. The wall art is beautiful as are the thoughtful displays on historically important fashion design. High tea is normally served with sandwiches, scones, and desserts. We recently booked a sitting for their Christmas Nutcracker High Tea (Dec 2018). The menu was weighted very heavily towards the dessert offerings (the sandwich plate was very small). As well, the tea menu was very small in comparison to our previous sittings at The Shangri-la (NB. The small tea menu is still larger than tea menus at other hotels). All of the teas we sampled at our sitting were outstanding. Excellent experience overall. Really wished more thought went into the sandwiches.

Amazing hotel. Great service and staff. Rooms are very clean and the pool and hot tub area is very modern and just great for a nice weekend getaway in the city.

Best Birthday Weekend Ever!
From the moment I walked in to the moment I checked out I was so sastfied with everything, such a beautiful hotel. I felt like I was on vacation, the hotel gave me pink balloons for my birthday such an amazing surprise & complementary glass of wine, and upgraded me to deluxe suite, the room made me speechless, it was beautiful, huge, 2 bathrooms, heated floors, a very comfy bed, everything was amazing, I will for sure be coming back again! Thank you for an amazing weekend

High end hotel provides excellent amenities, relaxing environment, tasty food, very clean. Well maintained fitness center and swimming pool on fifth floor. Garden terrace on third floor.

One of the best hotel in Toronto. It has a very nice decor overall. Food is really good too and rooms are fabulous. Loved the way they have done all the controls work inside the room. Met basketball players in the hotel as well so that explains that even they recommend this hotel to stay so there must be a reason for that. Very good experience overall!

Really wonderful stay. Comfortable beds, clwan roon, wonderful customer service. Beautiful bathroom. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the showerhead for the bathtub did not work.

Service was unbelievable. Pool, sauna, and hot tub were very clean. Obtained an unbelievable deal for the room as I would never pay full price. Overall was an excellent experience.

As expected the shangrila Toronto lives up to its global reputation. The brand plans out and takes pride in every detail down to the scents they select and hold consistent in every location (walk into the Toronto shangrila and you welcomed by the same scent as the ones I have visited overseas). The experience just gets better from there. Many chains in this price range give you extravagance, the shangrila does it in a way that is not over the top and a perfect balance of modern amenities and contemporary design. Dining is amazing, spa is on a whole other level, gym/pool/sauna/steamroom is amongst the best I have ever visited. We were lucky enough to have a corporate Christmas party here which was held in an great space. If you get the chance to go, dont miss out.

It was a fun experience many options for food but for the meeting rooms as a guest it’s not free for you which was annoying streets noise is not muted hotel price is over rated compared to high stars hotels in the world but it was the best in town if there was better I would’ve went to it instead of it

Visited the Shingra-la (Toronto) for a weekend. Beautiful hotel, however, upon entering our room, we noticed the room was used. The bathroom was dirty as it had not been cleaned, there were clothes from the previous customer laying on the bed, and half-eaten room service food along with its tray in the room.

The office manager could not provide any sort of compensation other than an apology and and a phone number to let him know if we would ever be in town again, to “see what he could do”. Tried multiple times to call but haven’t had any response.

Overall, not a great experience, especially for the price we had paid. I will not be returning. I would rather spend the $600 on another 5-star hotel where the experience was much better.

Great lighting great vibe so cool, oh the views wow! Perfect for a date idea with your significant other or friends at the bar.ps I was there for a acting gig so it was vip eats. Definitely coming back with a date and enjoying the scene and eats. Have fun hope this review helps!

Beautiful luxury hotel with live music at night. They always change up their decorations and flowers from time to time. The people are very kind and friendly, ready to serve. I always come by to enjoy the atmosphere whenever I pass by.

Had High Tea here. The food, drinks, and overall atmosphere was great. The service, however, was not. The servers were all very nice, but very inattentive and hard to find when you needed anything.

Truly the best hotel in Toronto. All other hotels need a lesson from Shangri-La on customer service, quality and even things such as room design and furnishings. Nothing compares in this city and everything compared to it is trash.

Momofuku noodles were pretty decent, though for the price I expected a little more flavourful. The restaurant was very clean. Was greeted immediately by staff and waitress was nice. But what I love the most was the milk bar (not exactly what I originally thought) but they sell really yummy cookies.

Nice hotel. Very friendly staff. Rooms are nicely furnished and spacious. We had a 1 bedroom suite. However, The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Mattress was lumpy and sheets were low quality. No welcome fruit in room as is customary for an upscale Asian hotel. For $500 a night (we stayed two nights) it really didn’t seem to live up to our expectations.

Update: I received an email from the hotel managing director indicating his concern for the quality of my experience at the shangri-la and indicating that he directed the head of hospitality to contact me.
I then received a call from Andrew M.the director of hospitality for the Toronto Shangri-la. Andrew was quite sincere in taking my feedback seriously. He indicated that they had checked out my issues with the bed and had already taken steps to remedy. Andrew was very kind and expressed his disappointment that the experience was not up to their and my standards and that the next stay with them would be the awesome experience that they pride themselves on and for which I have always associated with the Shangri-la in my stays with them around the world.
I give them 5 ***** stars for their follow up and genuine concern / interest in keeping their customers happy and loyal.
I’ll give them another try in the next few months.
