Excellent taste, hearty portion. I've tasted Shawarmas in many places and this one is among the best i've tried. Hummus and Toum are very good and the salad is full. The chicken pieces are big and theyre not shy of filling your plate. Very highly recommend!
Busy downtown Shawarma spot. Lots people come during the evening time, their food is delicious, the portions are filling enough to have some in the morning
J'ai acheté une assiette avec des brochettes de poulet et de viande qui on aucun goût et ça goûté vraiment comme une poubelle.mauvaise qualité et très cher $$$.
I bought a plate with chicken and meat skewers that had no taste and it really tasted like trash.poor quality and very expensive $$$.
I grew up in Toronto and I thought I knew Shawarma. This restaurant blew my mind. I ended up eating here 2 times in one weekend. Order the mixed shawarma plate and enjoy. My partner got the Falafel and said it was crispy and fresh. 10/10.
Would love to give it 0 starts for the rude and disrespectful staff, guys working there seem to be forced to work, dude if you can’t handle customer with a smile you better quit and find another job. I’ve been shawarma palace for a handful of times at different locations, this one is really the worst and complete not recommended. Will never go back to this location again.
I had a bad experience during my visit, it’s not about the food, the food was fine. I felt that the people working treat the customers bad. After taking the initial order they pretend to not hear you and avoid eye contact, or speak to other people that work there in other language with out giving the proper attention to the customers. I believe they do this so that you may not ask for something like, extra garlic sauce or anything you want different. I believe that this is disrespectful behaviour towards other human being. Very poor customer service skills. Very narcissistic behaviour.
An Ottawa ‘fast-food’ classic — This was the Platter with salad, a heaping of hummus and garlic sauce, chicken, beef, potatoes, rice, and a side of two pitas. The flavours were incredible, very aromatic and garlicky. The meats were well done, and not dry whatsoever! The rice, as well, was extremely fragrant. I can definitely see how it is a local favourite!
Had beef shawarma plate and it’s awful for the money you are paying. 2/3 plate filled with salads and rice. It’s bloody expensive for the money you are paying. Very poor customer service. Not recommending at all. Way too expensive for the money you are paying for.
Unfortunately I have to give this 2 stars because I ordered through Uber Eats and my chicken shawarma sandwich had absolutely no vegetables in it, only the meat and that was disappointing. I didn’t give a 1 star only because the chicken and potatoes tasted good. Please be more careful next time.
What happened to this place? It used to be so good but I went in yesterday to grab a wrap and the guy making it did not care about his job at all and just slapped anything on the sandwich without asking me what I wanted. I have never experienced more obnoxious and terrible service. It’s sad to see how much they stopped caring about their business. I’m never going back again.
They said Shawarma was a must have in Ottawa. Wow. This place is legit. Portion was massive and flavours were great. No regrets having this late night.
Delicious Shawarama and Kebab, huge portion, friendly efficient staff, you could tell how popular is this place from the long lineup, it's a must -go every trip to Ottawa
Very rude staff. Their chicken shawarma and chicken kebab were not fresh. They are so reluctant to take other people's order behind you and can't even work fast. Worst customer service
I wanted half fries and half rice shwarma but they wouldn't make it for me because it will take "too long". However, they will happily charge you for fries and make it on the side and not put it with shwarma. I've been to a lot of shwarma places, they all do half and half even if they don't have it on menu. That's only minor compared to the fact that the chicken seemed partially raw as some of them were pink color.
Delicious. Not overly salty or saucy. At $17.5 for a "plate", it seems expensive but that plate easily serves 2 people, so really I'd say it's $9 a portion.
Garlic sauce is absolute flavobomb. Like Godzilla's Atomic Breath, every burp will feel like you're blasting the world with garlic, but in a good way. A+
Usually love this place but it's pretty uncomfortable this far on to have your food made by someone with their mask around their chin. Everyone else was properly masked but not this person. Weird how I and every other healthcare worker can manage to wear a mask at work for 8-12 hrs but this guy can't.
Low quality food, therefore quantity is high. Inattentive staff doesnt care what you want or not. They just want to fill up the plate and pass it down fast as they can. Not expecting exceptional customer service but even a little bit goes long.
This is the best shawarma place in North America, great service, clean and good prices, thank you for your efforts to bring the best shawarma to our city. Shawarma palace you are the best.
We absolutely love Shawarma Palace. The portions are ginormous, the seasoning is excellent on the meats and the garlic sauce is brilliant. The staff have always been courteous. Keep it up guys!
THE STAFF is very rude, they don't even look to your face, and they tell you to sit before taking your order, and when they do its unfinished order they wont let you talk, what they only say sit! What a bad staff, I guess they have already earned what they needed too and now they can treat like!
Unfortunately the chicken shawarma sandwich was mediocre (3 stars) at best and the service was exceptionally rude (0 stars). The falafel while good flavour was cold and dry (1 star).
As other reviewers mentioned- I second with them - the staff is rude and is always in hurry to take the order of the next customer behind you. They hardly make an eye contact while taking your order. Reluctant to consider any customization. Not generous with their dressing or sauce or hummus. Taste is very generic. You will find other similar places near by where portion size, price and attitude of staff is much much better.
Really good shawarma. We got one chicken, one falafel and one veggie. They were all really well made and very tasty! The side potatoes are quite large and the garlic sauce is really nice. I also really appreciated that they carry unique drinks and foods - like mango nectar right from Egypt! The only downside in my eyes is that there is no "combo" option like most shawarma places where you get a sandwich, side and drink for a set rate. I found by making me pay for all 8 items seperately, I ended up spending much more than I would anywhere else.
The best Shawarma in Canada. If you come from any of the gulf countries and would like to have the kind of Shawarma that you get there, this is the place. If you like ketchup and hot sauce in your shawarma, make sure you tell them to add it.
What else to say but stunningly amazing. Clean, bright and modern dining area and the quality and value of the food was second to none. I am already looking forward to my next meal.
Definitely worth it. Servings are double compared to all the other places ive bin. There definitely want your business and if there keeping there costumers stuffed. Chicken Pita wow talk about allot of chicken. Im A big guy can eat a large pizza no problem lol. I was actually full after the first one. If your looking for more portions then you can handle go for the pitas
IMHO the best sharwarma in town. Don't be discouraged by the sometimes long lines - it's worth the wait. The portions are large, and the food is fresh and delicious. The garlic sauce in particular is a favourite. I don't live in the area any longer, but whenever I'm close I make sure to drop in to get a chicken platter to go.
Best shawarma in Orleans. Garlic sauce isn't too spicy but still has a nice garlic kick. They toast the sandwiches on the grill which gives the pita a bit of crunch. Their Falafel is quite good as well. Restaurant is clean and offers reusable plates and cutlery which reduces waste. Great idea.
I haven't been to Shawarma Palace for a couple of years but on a whim I decided to go back. Now I am wondering why I ate shawarmara anywhere else. Shawarma Palace is truly the best shawarma in the city. The chicken was moist, and the potatoes were awesome without being oily! The staff is great, and the food is yummy!
The best place for shwarma in Ottawa bar none. Always fresh chicken are used here since the store has huge customer base. My brother who lives in Toronto would drive to Ottawa just to have shwarma here!
I usually come here for a platter. They offer a variety of dishes, but the mixed platters are great and I always get mine with tabouli as well. Everything is so fresh, and I have never had a bad experience other than the wait times can be a little much as the line ups can be crazzzzy long sometimes. They would easily get 5 stars if they had more staff working. Their garlic sauce is the best in Ottawa though.
This was my hands down favourite place, but I'm getting increasingly disappointed. I regularly order from here through Uber Eats.
Once, the garlic was forgotten on my sandwich, another time i recieved 2 sandwiches (thinking maybe 1 was thrown in after my last complaint) but it was clear it was not meant to be mine, then another time it tasted like sand or something was in my sandwich and hurt my teeth.
It's become careless and inconsistent and I've continued to give my feedback and the order was not correct and have not had any attempt to be contacted etc. Really disappointed that I kept trying to give this place my business and kept getting bad service.
If I could eat here every day, I would. I guess every second or third day will have to do. I am exaggerating, but not by much. If you eat at the restaurant the plates tend to be a bit larger than the to-go portions, but regardless I can't do either in one sitting, so there are always left-overs to tide me over until I visit again. They are busy enough that the turnover is very high, which means the food is always fresh.
Ottawa's go to for great shawerma, this place is a classic. It's been here for decades and their food is very delicious! Always a must for me for late night food. Their staff is really friendly and their food is fresh
As we all know they serve great food. I was waiting inside the restaurant their music was extremely loud. You will find parking right side of the building which is very convenient in downtown during rush hours.
Shawarma Palace has always been my favourite shawarma in Ottawa. But I found out that the quality varies by location. The location on Bank and Hunt Club is by far better than the one on Rideau.
That said, the Rideau one is okay too. For some reason the meat wasn't as well spiced or moist as the Bank st location, but still tasty. Given the choice, I'd go to the Bank street one or Shawarma Andalos on Elgin.
I got the Shawarma Palace mixed plate, pictured in the top right. Shawarma Andalos is bottom left and 3 Brothers is bottom right.
Best Shawarma in Ottawa. The chicken is juicy and tender. The rice and potatoes are fresh. I live 30 minutes away driving but I only come here for Shawarma.
Food is great yes but rude rude altitude with 0 customer service. We ordered 2 plates one of them was half beef half chicken plate. We asked to put the beef portion seperate as my spouse doesnt eat red meat. Staff refused and said we cant do that its store policy. They even refused to put them in a pita. We spoke to the Owner and she was not making any sense to why they refuse to seperare them saying that they will have to charge extra because everybody will want that. Long story short we were not convinced and we ate our plate discusted. Will never recommend or see you again thanks for the welcoming atmosphere! Btw This has never happened to us in any other shawarma place i visited across ontario for the 12 years we lived here.
Had the chicken shawarma, it was dry and not much sauce. It was good, I was expecting more from a top rated place. My friend asked for extra sauce and complained about the same thing. Price was ok. The staff however, are the best! Very polite. And always have a nice word to say.
I wanted to place an order over the phone and they denied it I understand if it’s busy or not you should always respect your customers will never go to it again learned my lesson don’t know how to treat people bad experience
Amazing ingredients! Can’t beat this shawarma. However, the place is almost always a 10 minute wait, staff aren’t personable and are rushed all the time. For me, I’d rather drive out to the carling location from my place in Centretown than to this one, even if it’s a quicker drive here. Same ingredients, better staff
Place is packed for a reason, but not to worry they are quite efficient. Line up was out the door and I was in and out in under 20 minutes. Also portion sizes are huge for the price you pay. Best in the city by a long shot.
Yeah the food is great. But RUDE RUDE RUDE dudes at the counter who don;t even greet you. Stood there for a solid 3 minutes while the guy made food for another order and he didn't even look at us.
I enjoy the atmosphere and the fast service. However, make sure you take a look at the chicken on spin before you buy. Sometimes it is a little too dry. This would ruin the overall experience here.
The washroom is kinda creepy. Make sure you go somewhere before entering. Also, for some strange reason the price fluctuates quite often.
