Delicious, courteous, friendly staff, large portions, reasonable price. Along with Pomegranate the best Persian restaurants in town.

I have been here twice. Both time super satisfied. Great staff; although we were late and they started closing, but there was absolutely no rush from the waitress.
Kebabs were top notch, i love the koobideh kebab better tho since it had a nice tenderness touch.
I also had the Dizi once and that was beyond words.
Just one recommendation: wish their work hours were more flexible (since i went to Toronto to try their food it was a bit pain to set the arrival time with their limited work hours)
All in all, craving for their food for sure

If you really want to try Iranian food, you must go to this cozy restaurant.
They have the best quality of any Kabobs. Their food is always always fresh. They really provide a great service too.
I love their food. Number 1 in the town. Trust me.

Small, cozy spot with incredible food! The menu is small, but you can’t go wrong with any of the key main dishes. Highly recommend the Dizi if you have never tried it!

Authentic Persian spot that stays true to their values and standard. Sheherzade truly shines as a middle eastern restaurant that serves good and authentic food and is DOWNTOWN. We ordered the vaziri, mast-o-sadeh, and saffron ice cream. While the yogurt is pretty plain, it had a thick consistency (I recommend you go for the one with cucumbers). The kabob koobideh melts into your mouth! The chicken was nice but should’ve been more juicer! The saffron ice cream was such a new and unique concept reminds me a lot of Arabic booza! If anything, I really wish more rice came with portion, the meat to rice ratio is not balanced. Very friendly waiter!

Nice beautiful place, very friendly staffs, but their food is not the best (dry kebabs) so price is not reasonable, maybe I am going there again with my friends but not my favorite place to go at all.

We tried the restaurant last year and were very disappointed because kabob was very very dry. Since we love Anar Resturant so much, we decided to try the restaurant once again but Barg, Chengeh and chicken kobob was very dry again. Also the type of rice they use is very hard. Reasonably priced and good service.

Lovely food. A quaint and cozy place serving succulent meat and flavorful rice. 10/10 would go again!

Very nice and cosy restaurant.its waitress was very kind. I was supersized that she was Canadian working in this small cozy Iranian Restaurant.the design is so memorable. The design of foods are great too.
Recommend 100%. Next time I like to try the other-one, pomegranate restaurant.

Love this spot! One of my favourite restaurants in the city. The dishes are simple but the execution is always spot on. Almost every plate is grilled meat, rice and salad. Get a dip to share and then a plate with two kebabs on it, and you must get the sabzi khordan, a plate of fresh herbs to go with the grilled meats.
If you are eating with vegetarians, I recommend Pomegranate, their sister restaurant, over Sheherzade.

We got some take outs, not even enough portions of food, the smallest that I saw in Toronto and even Montreal, and they didn't even let us to actually sit there and wait till our food is ready! Didn't liked the taste at all! Chenje and barg both were too hard to bite on! Didn't have sumac at alll! Half tomatos! Surprisingly bad in every way!

It really worth the money you pay. My family and I are specially in love with their Chenje Kebab. However, the last time the kebab was not marinated well. That's why I gave 4 star. Otherwise I could give them 5 star.

The kebab is too dry and lean. The recipe is probably modified for western taste. If you would like authentic Persian kebab try elsewhere.

A really nice place to find a good quality Persian food (except for the rice which is not Iranian) in downtown Toronto. Just the customer service is a bit lower than Canadian standards. Recommended.

I've visited Pomegranate a few times and I absolutely love that restaurant and consider it as a gem of Toronto. So this time around I wanted to check out Sheherzade which is their sister restaurant. Overall the flavors were great and delicious. We had tried the Shishlik and the Abgoosht. The presentation of the Abgoosht was pleasant. The various components of the chickpeas and the lamb, the stew, the bread was inviting and provided that warmth and comfort for the chilly late summer day. The flavors were great but the only concern was if it was actually lamb shanks in the dish as it was way too fatty than expected. Personally I would have preferred the fatty parts removed for a much more easier and better eating experience. The bread was crispy and provided the right amount of texture for the dish.

The Shishlik had a good amount of meat that was well cooked. But the overall dish itself felt a bit dry for my liking. There needed to be an item that soften the plate a bit to make it a winner. More vegetables or a pomegranate salad would have been apt. I think the sauces are extra, but I would just rather provide it with the dish and add that cost to the price rather than selling it separately.

We ended the evening with the Saffron Ice Cream with Pistachios which I probably loved the most. The flavor might feel a bit overpowering for the uninitiated but I think it's worth the try. The service was amazing.

I still feel Pomegranate has a definite edge that makes it stand out and provide a memorable experience. Th ambiance at Pomegranate is far superior and the food is much more richer and wholesome with all the components that are nicely thought through. Even though Sheherzade is termed as more "street-food" than fine-dining, I still feel it needs work with the menu to make it a winner for me.

According to the reviews, I with my friends went there and I am not satisfied at all.
1. Dizi was very greasy which made us sick.
2. There was no any bowl for separating the fats from meat or even grinding the meat and potatoes.
3. The quantity of the Dizi was very low.
4. The quality was not something very good. It was very very normal. May be for foreigners which they are not familiar with our foods it is very nice but I had eaten lots of better foods with more quality and quantity and more reasonable prices.
5. They forget to bring the drinkings and we had to mention.
6. The place is very small and the washrooms are not comfortable with good access and space.
7. The size of Sohan and sides for the tea, which they brought was shameful.for 6? Dollars.
8. Finding a parking spot was really hard.
9. As soon as we get in the girl she works there asked us to leave at.hour! It is not a good favorite Iranian Hospitality.
10. Highly recommend Iranian workers (The ones which they are in face to face contact with customers) as they are more familiar with Iranian foods and customs.
11. The worst part: We were not happy so we did not want to pay tip. When we paid and we wanted to leave, one of the girl who worked there, came and told us that we had to pay tip! They forced to pay the tip!
12. I did not want to rate it but I have to turn on at minimum one of the stars. My opinion is completely negative.

It is a cozy small persian spot with lovely decoration, it was my first experience here so the review is base on that.the waitress was lovely, she was veryyyy sweet, helpful, attentive and caring. Couldnt be any better.
Kal kabob, Zeitoon Parvardeh and bread were the highlights of our orders.
Thigh jooje kabob was well made but Chenjeh could be more tender.
The ice cream was very far from expextations.
AND the side salads had some sour dressing which was too sour and acidic like which hurt the mouth. It had lemon on the side I guess than could be enough.

Food was amazing. They really need to work on the payment method but the food was very tasty and the size generous.

Very tasty koobideh. Barg was good too. We also ordered the eggplant pomegranate appetizer which was excellent.

Amazing authentic Persian food. Came in fresh and the meat was succulent. Recommend beef kebab "Kubidah"
06 August 2019 13:37
Went there, all eleven of us, very hungry for a special occasion. Parking was a bit of a struggle but once we were seated, the food came quickly, was fresh and flavourful and that in itself says a lot. We tried different platters, chicken, lamb and beef. The meat was juicy and tender. The service was crisp, attentive and friendly/ The place is small, cosy at best but despite the cramped quarters everything glides effortlessly. Everyone enjoyed the food. If there’s one thing lacking then it’s the availability of family platters.
To have a special occasion complemented with good friends, food and a positive dining experience is as perfect as it gets. Thank you Scherezade.
We will be back.

Would recommend going to other Iranian restaurants in the city. For the most part, the food was bland and tasteless.

Great food. The Abghost was amazing and highly reccomended if you like lamb. Portions are large and prices are very reasonable. Place is a bit so tight call before you go

Food is absolutely amazing and delicious, cozy restaurant with a large crowd, so don't expect intimate dining but everyone is caught up in their own food and company where it is still nice and private. Plus it can get loud so enjoy your conversation with your party. I would strongly recommend making reservations and coming in there not starving, small place with high demand will mean some of a wait. Not unreasonable but don't go there expecting fast food. Good food takes time. I'd love to come back here and I plan to do so

A friend strongly recommended the Pomegranate restaurant, but they did not have a table and we decided to give Sheherzade a try.
Overall, the food is good. For sure my expectations were higher compared to what I had, mainly regarding the main plate. I would not say that I was disappointed, but for sure it was not one of the best experiences I had, although the service was very good.
We started with the appetizer Zeitoon Parvardeh and it was a nice flavorful surprise. Their barbary Persian flatbread is very good and it was crunchy, soft and warm. For the main, I shared the Kabob Bakhtiari with my boyfriend. The dish had a good size for sharing as we shared the appetizer as well. I love salad and the one that came in the plate was very good. The veal tenderloin was very flavorful, but the chicken breast was a little bit dry and it did not have a strong flavor. I was really expecting more as they are considered a grill house.
For me, the dessert was the one that changed my review from 3 to 4 stars. Their saffron ice cream is so yummy! We shared in 3 people and it was enough. It is very flavorful, light, creamy and not that sweet. The pomegranate molasses and pistachios made it even better.

It’s the coziest persian restaurant ever Love this place, food is great specially Dizi, and their service is really good

Food is delicious everytime. Highly recommend if your looking for Persian. Its number 2 in toronto. If you can travel try Darband or North

While looking for a quick dinner during a conference break, we were led to this amazing place by Yelp app. Simply out of this world experience. The server was kind and helpful. She explained us how to eat dizi. Thanks. Will come again

Ideally I'm sure this place is amazing and wonderful, however I didn't have that experience. The food was dry and over cooked. Ordered the barg which is usually the best dish to get at any persian or Irani restaurant and it was just off. The waitress was nice and did her best so service is good. I really wish I liked it more, however all things considered it was mediocre to say the least.
Hope you have a better experience than I did.

You should learn what kind of meat to use for Shishlik! It was not a true shishlik. The quality was actually bad and I didn't enjoy eating it! However, Joojeh Kabab was good.
12 December 2018 5:42
I had a very rude waitress who easily can turn a positive experience to a negative one.she did not know how to deal with customers. Owners should hand pick their floor staff as they are as important as the food! I didnt get the waitress name but she was on the floor Friday night at 9PM
