Shehnai Restaurant

Been coming here for nearly two decades and I am never disappointed! Consistently great food every time.

We have been using Shehnai for our Christmas dinner for about 12 years and it has become part of our holiday tradition. The food is wonderful, very flavourful with varying spiciness to meet everyone’s preferences. I pick it up the night before and leave it in my car overnight (since it’s always cold). It easy to heat and serve on Christmas Day. Thank you. See you next Christmas (and in between of course as well)

I was in a pinch and very last minute called in to place an order of biryani for 15-20 people. I thought what I was asking was crazy but the person who answered the phone assured me they’d have it done and ready in only 20 minutes. Sure enough it was ready in time and the biryani was DELICIOUS. Beautifully presented and even the medium spice was quite spicy but we love that. I definitely should’ve left a bigger tip which I feel bad about but everything from service to the actual food was perfect. Thank you so much again!

I ordered two chicken biriyani today around 7 pm for pick up. The rice was okay, but chicken smells bad, smells like days old. Very rarely I used to eat from there and now I am done with them today. I won't recommend anyone. Thank you.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. It was an amazing find. The food was amazing. Be always order the dinner for 2 combination A. The only thing we don't like are the dessert options. But we're not going there for the dessert. We have gone out of our way to share this place with friends. 100% would recommend. Also, the sag paneer is my favorite.

Best Indian cuisine I have enjoyed in a long time. Definitely will come back. The DoorDash trafic is a visible testament to the quality of the food.

Food is always good, reliable and consistent taste. Very convenient location. Sometimes the delivery takes longer than expected but that is fine with me. We usually buy 3 different curries and a biryani with Naan and rice on side and it lasts us three meals each for two people.

The worst biriyani one can ever have. Rice soaked in red tomato sauce that’s their version of biriyani - it’s a joke! Avoid this restaurant if you don’t want to spoil your palate and the monies…period!

One of the best Indian restaurants in GTA. The food quality is amazing and service is exceptional. Must try restaurant if you are around Hamilton or Niagara region and craving for quality Indian food.

Food was okay, nothing special. Samosas were my favourite out of just 3 dishes. Disappointed in butter chicken as sauce was too tomatoey - not impressed with it at all. The Paneer I would not order again either as it didn't have much flavour.
Won't be going back.

Shenai’s food is consistently delicious. The service is fast and friendly. A Hamilton gem!

Oh my goodness! I bought a lamb dish that not only tasted delicious, but the portion size was enough that I had leftovers from a $13 meal! For lamb! And it wasn't half bone either. I will definitely be suggesting this restaurant to everyone I know, and I'll be visiting again as soon as I can.

The BEST Indian food in Hamilton with the WORST delivery in Hamilton. Do not bother watching the online tracker. Expect from order to delivery time to be 2 hours. Period. Do yourself a favor and just go pick it up.

One of the worst spots on timing they take like forever when you order through a app i would be never ordering from here again

I love ordering from here, but the wait time is very intense. Every time I have ordered, it's been an hour and a half long wait - longer for delivery. Also, they don't answer the phone often, so I go through food delivery apps to order. The food is excellent.

Walked in last night to order dine in with friends and we were told that we needed a reservation. No one was dining in and all the tables were empty. I asked about how we can make a reservation then comes the shocking part, to make a reservation you need to call a day in advance and it’s not available through the website. The reason for that is they do not have enough staff to cover both dine in and take out so they chose to do take out and delivery only. I don’t think I’ve ever come across such a thing! I drove from Toronto to meet up with a friend a have dinner at Shehnai but never again. Please make a note somewhere to save people some time

The food was fantastic. The delivery driver was super personal. Great interaction. The delivery time was way too long. An hour and forty minutes. A bit much. The restaurant needs to work on getting the food out quicker so their great drivers can deliver it.

Love this place! They have a really tasty biryani, butter chicken, etc. And a generous serving as well. I highly recommend

My first visit to Shehnai Restaurant in Hamilton.

Very friendly and welcoming service, full authentic cuisine on their menu.
Due to Covid19 some of the food businesses struggling through and wishing them all the best for getting into stage 3, means eatin will be allowed as of Friday July 16th. 2021
I ordered their Saag Gosht with Tandoori Naan for lunch.
Well served and hot n spicy was perfectly according to what I asked for.

Highly recommended and will visit again while in Hamilton area.

Never order food from this restaurant, food is so ugly and tasteless. Just wastage of money. Better to try somewhere else shame on Indian restaurant. Can't even make a simple naan and aalo gobhi. Every time I order naan have different shape and size and thickness.

My husband and I drive from Beamsville to west Hamilton to enjoy the food at Shehnai Restaurant.
The food is delicious and served hot and in a timely manner. The staff are always welcoming. It’s my favourite place to eat.

Big oof! The food came and I was so sadly disappointed. It didn't taste right at all, and the potatoes in one of my dishes weren't cooked all the way through. I don't usually write reviews but wow was it so bad that I just had too. Also there was no option for how spicy you want the dishes to be, on doordash, I like spicy and so I just got mild without my consent lol. So sad about this money down the drain! If you want good Indian food, India village restaurant is the way to go! Not this place

COMPLETELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE, also update your timings on the listing it says 230, but these guys are closed at 2 in the noon. They re literally asking customers to not order from here for real.would have rated you 0 stars outta 50 if had an option:) enjoy the rest of your day making biryanis and eating them yourself:)
