We recently dined at sher e punjab on Danforth and it was amazing. Impeccable service. Very nicely done atmosphere. Super Clean, Cozy and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious you can taste the fresh ingredients. I have tried a lot of Indian food in my life and the taste was on point and absolutely delicious. Perfect amount of spice. Minced Lamb samosas are the best I have ever had. Saag was out of this world. The sizzling platter so juicy tender and fresh nicely seasoned. I could eat here every day. Great for any Occasion. I can’t wait to go back. Definitely recommend this place.
This restaurant has been around for decades and has always served up the best Indian cuisine. The dining room is warm, cozy and has comfortable accessable seating. The flavours, the portions and service is fantastic! You will not be disappointed. The servers are busy and always so attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner. The pakoras are the best in the city too!
I have been eating here since the 1970's, not that many restaurants have the ability to survive such a long time.it is testament to the singh family and how they have run this restaurant.the food is always good and satisfying
Was craving good Punjabi samosas and a friend recommend this old established restaurant serving Punjabi food. I was thoroughly disappointed by them. First of all they were stale, double fried in hot oil (making the exterior even more burnt and hard) the oil was still dripping in the foil. It’s a shame for a Punjabi restaurant to sell such low quality food. A Punjabi staple which should be mastered by their chiefs! Yet it was unpalatable! Hopefully there other food is better.
We went on weekend. Its a amazing restaurant. I loved the customer service and afcouse the food was amazing. I loved the fact that waiter told us that spice will be according to canadian taste, so that we have an idea how spicy we want. The ambience of the restaurant was good. Its worth going there.
5/5 for Ambience, Vibe & Quick, friendly service. The paneer tikka was delicious, as well as the paneer naan & garlic naan! However the mango lassi was okay. & baingan bhartha was quite tasteless with undercooked mattar (peas). Hope to see improvement.
We ordered a veg biryani. However, it tasted more like a veg Pulao with chat masala in it. I have been to Sher e punjab several times before but today was a disappointment.
Exceeded all expectations, our server (thank you girl) was very professional and friendly and helped us pick our food (which was the best Indian food I had in Toronto) so… 5 stars is an understatement
Lovely staff and service, extremely bland food. We ordered the dhal, butter chicken and tandoori grill and they all lacked salt, flavour and spices. Won’t be coming back. Giving stars for staff and place.
Everything was very fresh and served fast. The food was tasty without being overbearing. They could use a little more selection for both food and drinks- but the tea was also very good. Service was excellent. The location is right on the subway line. I recommend it.
Excellent restaurant with delicious food and great staff. Restaurant is spacious and is not loud, which provides a good atmosphere for a family dinner. Prices are also very reasonable. Liked the veg items on the menu. Will definitely be going back!
This place is really good to have Indian food, find it from online but the taste and ambience is too good. The service is also fast, as compare to price its bit reasonable but not many choice in Veg option.
The perfect place for a candlelit dinner with Indian cuisine. We had the tandoori chicken, butter chicken, rice and naan. While the service did take some time, the food was delicious and well prepared. The butter chicken was really good and tasted great with the naan. The tandoori chicken was moist and flavourful as well. Overall it was a great evening and we look forward to visiting again.
Nice staff. Butter chicken is a little sweet but I thought it was tasty. Tried an Indian beer that was pretty good. Ate on the small patio which is comfy and cozy. Clean restroom which I consider a positive sign. I would definitely eat here again.
Sir good evening I am form india Himachal Pardesh I am cook all rounder tandoor& indian &chaat 4years experience my whatsApp number 78758699 please give me the chance
The food is amazing and authentic. Such a great food in an unassuming place. Need to be patient to get served but the wait is worth. Everything we ordered was delicious and definitely we will visit again
Food was amazing no doubt I usually do takeout but it was my second time for dine in but honestly I’m not satisfied with service it needs to be improved
Warm and welcoming place with fresh tasty food. I asked for butter chicken to be made mild for my 6 year old girl and it was just perfect to finish her meal.
We enjoyed much to go back the next day. Third day the restaurant was closed otherwise we would have surely visited
Great Indian restaurant right in the heart of Greek town. The food is high quality and has great flavour. The Sizzling platter is a must have and will probably be enough for two people. Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.
The lamb rogan josh is amazing. I have had Indian food at many restaurants, and this is one of my favourites. The food is amazing, the staff is cool, helpful and polite. The interior design and the music are sophisticated, which is rare in Toronto. Good place for a date or a nice evening with your lover. Love this place!
There's a reason it's been around for over 40 years: the quality of the food! Lots of restaurants have come and gone on the Danforth, but "the Punjab" has outlived them.including many traditional Greek places that have sinced disappeared. The food is amazing and the service exceptional.and still a family run establishment! The Star of Punjab, and the Danforth, continues to shine! You will not be disappointed!
I love the food - when will they replace the take out plastic with a healthier, more environmentally friendly option? Then I would rate them a five star!
Loved the decor and atmosphere even thought it wasn’t that busy when we went. Food was both amazing and affordable. Service was quick and our server was extremely nice!
Worst customer service and food as well we travel there from brampton just to try some good food in toronto but staff was so rude and food was worst and they gravy was like water in every dish.
The Food is Very Tasty and Well Prepared Sweet & Short Menu I love the Service at the Place We Tired Their entrées- Bhaji & Chiken tikka Super mouth watering and tasty
Visited with close friends surly will revisit to try more Delicious food
Photogenic Ambience
I don’t know ️ why AirIndia was drawn (that’s a question ️ plz do reply) jst kidding!
Took soo many pictures and even asked server to click! Super helpful and nice staff
Worst staff and food i just visited with my friends the food was like tasteless and gravy was like water in every dish. When i just talked with the staff he be like he forcefully saying that we can’t do anything in this matter.
Love the food and the owners are warm and friendly. We've eaten here dozen of times and it's always amazing. It's tasty and consistent. It's our go-to spot. You should support this local business! Best samosas and naan in town.
Mediocre food and bad service. The food was not seasoned at all. Maybe I just had a bad experience given the other good reviews but I would not come back again.
We tried tandoori chicken, paneer matter, garlic Nan, mango lassi. Mutton curry Tandoori chicken is just ok, mutton curry has no flavors at all, Nan was good, paneer curry had no flavors too.
Clearly not a desi place, good ambients. Don't go with the restaurant name.
Best place for exclusive punjabi cuisine everything is cooked with delicacy with appropriate taste must try keema naan, seekh kabab and chicken tikka massala, tandoori chicken. Though everything is good but tried recently this so wish to share
I was excited to try the food here but was not impressed. The beef vindaloo was decent although the beef was slightly tough. The tandoori chicken was just ok (chicken tasted a little weird). Garlic naan was not good at all (doughy, little butter and no garlic taste). I hope they can improve their dishes as the restaurant has a good ambiance.
I ordered Channa Masala, Okra, and Chicken Curry through Uber Eats. Every item was drowning in puddles of oil which made an otherwise healthy dish extremely unhealthy. Disappointed and won't be ordering again.
Visiting my son in Toronto. I asked him to choose a good Indian restaurant. Our family has a great, succulent dinner. Mango salad, just tasteful and so fresh. Chicken butter, tikki chicken, vegetables rice, and garlic naan bread, wow can't beat it. A+ Service excellent! Very reasonable prices. Sure, we'll go back. And we discover a nice community. Danforth St, Greek Village. Thanks to the staff for having us to get a wonderful gastronomic experience.
One of the best Indian restaurants out there. The decision to come here was a spontaneous one, but we don’t regret it. The food reminded us of home and it was the most authentic Indian food we’ve had in the past 4 years. We’ll definitely be coming back.
It is truly a privilege to have Sher- E - Punjab on the Danforth as representation of the elegance and refined tastes of North Indian heritage.
I was looking for vegetarian options in the area and ordered the Paneer Makhani with a side of Samosas. When I opened the container my senses were in disbelief. Everything looked and smelled so good, but the taste was actually blissful.
I ordered the same dish in a different part of the city about 2 weeks ago and I am glad I did if at least to understand the outstanding quality of Sher-E-Punjab's ingredients, skillful preparation, bold flavours, portion size and service by comparison.
I rarely post reviews, but I am profoundly moved by my recent experience. It's been a long time since I've felt upliftment through food.
Best Indian on the east side! The food is great and the service is excellent. Use their delivery service- it's fast and free and I'd rather give them the money. Favourite orders include butter chicken, baingan bhartha, palak paneer and aloo gobi with garlic naan, naan and rice.
I went there with my 3 other friends a few days ago. The food wasn't tasty at all. And the worst thing is that me and my all friends got food poisoning after eating the food. Worst food.
It was a very pleasant visit, their employee Jaspal helped me a lot with selecting some non-spicy items. The food was really tasty as expected. Awesome food and customer service.
Undoubtedly the Best indian restaurant in niagara falls I am a local here & whenever I have the carving for desi style food this is my place & I recommend this restaurant for quality & quantity and great value for money
Love this place. I only get pick up and the food is always good, amazing serving sizes, and they are always welcoming I don't feel weird walking in ever.
Very flavourful and reasonably priced dishes. Butter chicken isn't as buttery as some places but was very tender, thick and layered sauce. Pakora was well seasoned, good size and very delicious.
The food and service were beyond our expectations. I absolutely liked the environment of this restaurant. Awesome restaurant to take the family out for lunch.
Its one of the best indian restaurants I have eaten at in toronto. The only bad thing about it is the service is pretty slow. I m not saying they are bad, I m just saying that the waiting time is too much.
I sent my friends to this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I visit this restaurant often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The the food there is tasty and the crew is efficient and cooperative. Whenever we go to this place we enjoy a gorgeous evening.highly recommended.
Wow! Incredible flavours! The only thing better than Sher-E-Punjab is your Sher-E-Punjab leftovers the next day. The flavours continue to infuse the food. Order extra.
Consistently good food- have gone over a few years. I'm a bit stuck on the pakoras, lamb saag, eggplant or daal, garlic naan. (Everything is very delicious.maybe could do with just a pinch more salt generally.) Service is efficient and polite. Pretty decor.mirrors on the wall at the front. Pakoras, 2 dishes, naan and rice total around $45 or so. If I go alone, can eat a little over half and enjoy the rest as a midnight snack. They pack up whatever you take away very well.
The food and service are amazing. We come here for special occasions for the last several years and it has always been fantastic. The tandoori and butter chicken dishes are outstanding (all the dishes are great) and it seems to be getting even better each time we go which is what keeps us coming back for more. Service wise, staff are always very attentive and the food is provided in a very reasonable amount of time.
Tried this place for the first time earlier this week and am already trying to get a bunch of friends together to go back. It was seriously THAT good. Best Indian food I've had in Toronto. The butter chicken is very tender and juicy and the sauce is to die for.
We've been enjoying the cuisine at Sher-E-Punjab for over 25 years. The Singh Family has a unique gift in that they serve their fabulous fare whilst including you as valued friends. What a gift!
Excellent authentic Indian food. Fast delivery. The food was fresh, hot with an authentic Indian touch. We recommend strongly for tourists who are visiting Toronto and looking for tasty Punjabi food. Aloo Gobi and black dal were mouth-watering.
