No frills never has enough stock for regular buyers. Even if flyer is of one week but on the second day they don’t have enough stock.

Shopped here lastweek, pleasantly surprised how clean and organized the store is. I traveled from brampton to shop.

Very busy place. As per no frills employee carts are only sanitized once a day. Customers must clean their own carts before entering to the store. Store has installed sanitizers at the entrance of the store.

I should’ve even given then one star cuz they always have expired milk in there freezer and when you go tell them they don’t replace anything and instead they are asking for proof of purchase I even try to show them transaction on my bank account for proof of purchase they still don’t care they have very bad customer service and employee work at return counter she is very rude it’s health concern issue for people they can’t sell expire milk in the store very dissatisfied with the service

There is no sense of social distancing at this location nor is it enforced. There are individuals shopping with no masks on and not asked by store employees witnessing this to do so either. With the province in lockdown this location really needs to enforce these rules as it clearly allows more than what capacity should be at during the pandemic. Being at this location yesterday (Saturday Jan 2nd) there was an instance where I had to ask another shopper to be socially distanced from me while I was standing in line— when this should be monitored and directed by in store employees. Got to do better at this location. This is one that definitely doesn’t follow social distancing rules and doesn’t enforce it for their shoppers either.

It's pretty clean. They always usually have stock. I have a hard time getting my hands Truetaste 2% bagged milk. But other than that it's good

I really like this No Frills - there is plenty of variety, the produce is always fresh, and the prices are reasonable. Morning was a good time to go - there were fewer people than there often are at other times. The cashier who checked me out was efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Very good experience.

Was formally a Fortino's. The largest No Frills I have ever seen. Has meat and seafood sections as well as a pharmacy. Plenty of ethnic food available with an emphasis on Carribean and East Indian food.

I often visit this place for grocery stuff. Get good deals on fruits, cereals, other breakfast items. The price are also low for most of the time.

Always busy and the shopping carts most of them are broken and the line is long and not enough cashiers working so to pay for 2 items you will be waiting for at least 20 minutes

Best option for cost effective products.
It is usually busy and you can expect 5-8 mins waiting in a line to cash out.
International products are also available there.
You may find some bakery products out of stock at times.

If you don't like crowds stay away from this place on Friday evenings. Otherwise the meats are reasonably priced at Charlie's Meats in the store. Good steaks and chicken.

The first No Frills store was a converted Loblaws outlet slated for closure. The store opened on July 5,1978 in East York, Toronto. While it offered a very limited range of goods and basic customer service, the store promoted discount prices. The opening of the prototype outlet coincided with a period of rising inflation rates and consumer complaints regarding the high price of food. Similar limited variety supermarkets had been in operation in Europe for a number of years and in some countries had captured significant market share.
Months earlier, Loblaw had launched a line of generic products called "No Name" that consisted of 16 unbranded items in very basic yellow and black packaging. The new line was promoted as offering savings of between 10 and 40 percent over comparable national brands. As No Name sales exceeded the company's own projections, Loblaws Supermarkets president Dave Nichol predicted the day when "limited line stores" would offer a complete assortment of No Name groceries. While the first No Frills (originally branded no frills) featured the new generic product line, most items were still national brands. Though the European model typically offered dry goods, Loblaw promoted "fresh produce at the lowest possible price"as a way of attracting customers.
Former logo in 2007. The banana was later removed along with a format change.
In order to reduce costs as much as possible, No Frills customers had to forego some of the conveniences that North American supermarket shoppers had come to expect. Customers were required to pack their own groceries and bring their own shopping bags or pay three cents for each. [The prototype store had only four checkout counters and operated on a "low labour" principle of minimal staffing. Product displays were purely functional with items left in their cardboard boxes with the front cut away. Produce, normally washed and stacked, was left unwashed in its shipping carton. The original store did not offer fresh meat since refrigeration units had been removed to reduce expenses. Instead of the 8,000 items normally carried by the average supermarket, only 500 were available, usually represented by one brand and in only one size. Instead of each item individually marked, prices were displayed overhead and customers were provided with a price list. Cashiers underwent three weeks of training and were required to memorize all prices in the store. Loblaws president Dave Nichol promoted the minimalism of the new operations as a way to save money in a difficult economy. "We took all the frills out. "
In spite of the limited product selection and minimal customer service, the first No Frills store, which advertised "the lowest overall food prices in Toronto", was successful from the initial launch. Opening day drew more shoppers than the store could handle.
While some first day customers complained about the added inconveniences, most said they didn't mind and were pleased with the money they saved. With the successful launch of the prototype store, Loblaw began converting a number of its older, more marginal outlets to the new discount format. Within a few months, the company had opened three No Frills stores in Toronto.

I actually live closest to the no frills at Jane and Lawrence but I always make the journey to this no frills. It's huge, always has fresh produce and has a place for fresh meat and fish. Best no frills I've been to

This place is good to buy groceries but its always very crowded and sometimes all the stuff were really mismanaged. Also, in the end there is the meat shop, its hard to stand at that place because it stinks a lot.

Maybe Wednesdays are very different than other days. Service in the meat counter very very bad. In general very poor quality of products in general

Not a terrible experience. I love no frills because they have amazing deals & they do price matching. This location is VERY busy, especially on weekends. And finding a basket is nearly impossible.
17 October 2019 21:29
It will always be my favorite no frills. I drive 30-40mins to get here, even though I pass 2 nofrills on my way. Yep.that's how much I love it
07 October 2019 6:51
Usually very clean, very busy and have good prices. Often it takes a very long time to get through a cash. Check out can take a very long time.

It is huge but not flyer friendly as most of the things ate out of stock in few hours so gradually people are losing interest in going there and the rush there is of new people in Canada. This is something to be looked into by No Frills policy makers or they would not be able to get to the root cause of decline in business

The black lady at the pharmacy was rude, mean and unprofessional. While I was breastfeeding at a vacant corner of their pharmacy an elderly person was asking help on how to use the blood pressure monitor she was ignoring the call and stood in front of me and told me to wrap up and leave. I was disgusted by her attitude, reported the incident to the owner but instead of being apologetic he defended his rude staff.
How come that a pharmacy staff is not aware that breastfeeding is a right in Canada? Even the owner doesn't know this basic human right of a mother and a child yet he sells and I buy baby products in his store.
Sir and madam pharmacist. It is my right to breastfeed anytime and anywhere as the need arises. I see madam pharmacist there still standing proud not aware she comittied something grave and disgusting.

Freezer section temperature inside fridge is high. Food all spoiled. Staffs do not treat their food carefully (leave fridge food outside too long, break food such as eggs etc.)

Verycrowd with people and food. Horrible line ups when you are cashing out. I have been there on different days of the week and same results
