Sherwood Music

I needed new heads for my toms. I checked online and discovered that Sherwood had a three-pack for approximately $8 dollars less than buying each head separately. I called the store to ensure that they had it in stock and they confirmed that they did. When I went to the store, they didn't have it in stock but had them for sale individually. I told one of the staff about my call and asked if he would sell me the individuals for the same price as the pack and he refused. I was dumbfounded. I left and vowed never to go back. I'm a life long customer at Long and McQuade now. Better selection, prices, return policy and friendly staff. To date, I have spent nearly $24k at L+M. I would be all for supporting local, small business but not when I'm treated like I was at Sherwood.

Walking into the store, im sure you'll be surprised and taken aback by their nice wall of guitars in front of you. Large selection and even carry some guitars that are not commonly found in stores like this. I came in looking for a new strap for a guitar (all of them too short) but was asking one of the cashiers of the price and if they have any longer. Guy was on his phone and like 20 seconds into me talking he said "what". C'mon man. Anyways, that's no big deal but another thing big enough to take a star down is that there is literally no price tags anywhere. It is even visible of them taking off old price tag stickers. I don't get why, but it makes the whole store feel like a museum or something. Overall good store with cool selection.

Beautiful store, great staff. When the part I needed was back-ordered, Colin bailed me out by lending me a guitar so I could play a friend's wedding stress free. Totally unexpected and hugely appreciated!

A great local music store that has only expanded their lines of instruments and services over the years. Is it evident that the entire store is temperature/humidity controlled, even more so the acoustic guitar rooms. The sales staff are knowledgeable and more than willing to let you try anything out.many of them are local musicians themselves. The newly renovated electric guitar showroom is absolutely incredible.

I like the store but it annoyed me that every product i could look at (keyboards, cymbals and pedals) had no price tag on them.
Being on the spectrum makes it stressful in engaging with store associates. I'd rather see the price like other stores.

Went to buy drum accessories. Nothing has a price on it. You have to walk whatever you're looking at all the way to the front counter and ask the price. Extremely frustrating way to shop. Why no price tags? Makes no sense.

We just had the best experience purchasing our son his first electric guitar. What a beautiful store and great customer service. Colin is a rock star and treated us like royalty! We’ll definitely be back.

I've been a customer at Sherwood since the mid 1980's. I used to shop at the store on King Street in Kitchener, and then on Weber Street in Kitchener. Over the years, I've purchased many different musical instruments from keyboards to drums to guitars.

The current store is well-organized and tidy. Generally, I find the staff to be courteous and helpful although I have had a few young reps who need to hone their customer service skills. But I understand that music stores see a lot of traffic from "tire-kickers", so I understand how this can affect sales people.

Because this is a local business, I tend to give them a little more latitude. This doesn't mean that I'll tolerate inflated prices or snotty staff, but I am willing to trade the coldness of a big-box chain store for a hometown business approach.

I've been going to Sherwood music for 30 years. Through many moves and many changes, I always come back to take advantage of great prices and excellent staff and service. From my first electric guitar (Vantage Avenger) to my first hollow body (Gretsch White Falcon) and recently a JV Strat, to countless amps and effects pedals, Sherwood is my first choice always.

Great store and great people.

I made the trek from Oshawa today since they had some of the best prices in Ontario.

I want to thank Scott who was tremendous in helping me with my purchase of a new acoustic.

His honest advice was appreciated as was his passion for music.

Been playing and buying guitars for a very long time.
The guys are always super helpful, and take the time to make sure the shoe fits. Couldn’t ask for more. Always leave happy feeling I have been taken care of. Never just pushed through.
If I could give them 6 stars, I would.
