Shipton's to the rescue. First of all this wasn't my first dealing with Shipton'. In my old house they installed a Hot water tank, Furnace and AC back in 2014 and when the AC wasn't performing well (bad compressor) they swapped it out for a new one in 2016. Fast forward to 2020 and a move to a new house where we assumed a hot water tank rental from the previous owners, we thought it will be ok for awhile until we can get things the way we like it then we can address the hot water, AC etc. Nope 2 weeks into the new house and the gas valve decided to go on the hot water tank. Not going to mention any names here but the rental company was not very relianceable, took 4 days to send someone out to just look at the tank even after I told them we had 2 immune compromised people in the house. They did eventually fix the tank on day 5 but I had already got the price to install a new tank and Shipton's came the following week and installed. Robert Shipton Jr, Jared and his apprentice did a great job installing the tank and we are glad to be dealing with Shipton's once again. Shipton's returned the rental tank at no cost and we are glad to be rid of that tank and company.

The Shipton's maintenance plans are great and a fair price, they come at the beginning of each heating season and cooling season and take care of the required maintenance, these new furnaces are filled with sensors and regulators that need to be cleaned and tuned to keep running efficiently.

Both times I have needed Shipton's in the past they have come within hours of the phone call and my equipment was back up and running within an hour. They provide a great service to the Hamilton area and I'm looking forward to having them out in the spring to replace my AC unit.

Update, purchased new AC, 26 year old Lennox is beyond repair and new unit being installed next week. Justin James was great as was Andrew Our salesman. Looking forward to the new Goodman AC.

Update #2 our AC install went very smooth, super clean, and exactly how I wanted it. Robert and Gary did an amazing job, super friendly, and very professional. I’m so picky and they managed to check all my boxes. Terry in the office was also amazing, she lined up the vibration pad in advance so I could get my formwork done on the AC concrete pad.

Update #3 AC installed on Monday and due to unseasonably cold June weather we had to switch back to heat by Thursday, switched over and furnace would not stay running. Wes Clark showed up within a couple hours of our service call, Eddy at the office had got him over to us quickly and Wes quickly diagnosed the issue which possibly could have been from the AC install, a little dirt in the wrong place and our heat was back up and running at no charge. So good to have a reliable company to call.

Had our yearly AC service done today by Brian Sweeney. Excellent service. Highly recommend him.

Brian from Shiptons was out today to do a follow up to the annual inspection on the air conditioner. First visit showed some low readings so they took the time to send a more senior tech to double check everything. He took the time to explain everything to me clearly and so that I understood what the situation was. It turns out that no additional action was required but if it had been I would have clearly understood why. I would highly recommend this local company to anyone looking for home heating and cooling services.

Tommy our duct technician arrived on time and surveyed our house. He he gave me an accurate estimate of the time required and …got to work. Tommy has a great personality and regularly gave me updates on the work in progress. He did a thorough job and finished with a quick inspection. I’d recommend Shipton’s to anyone planning work on their furnace.

We noticed that the furnace wasn’t coming on and called Shiptons right away. They responded right away and after confirming that we were a maintenance customer got a technician out to us within a few minutes. It turned out that the motor was burnt out, the technician had a replacement motor on his truck and we were warm literally minutes later (maybe 20 minutes). I don’t think that you can get better service, thank you Chresto Markos and Shiptons!

Chresto was very friendly very knowledgeable and very speedy doing the maintenance. Would ask for him again for future visits.

Brian and Rob came to investigate a strange noise being made by my furnace and in not time flat, diagnosed the problem and presented the solution that they implimented in less than 30 minutes. They were both were very professional and courteous and were great to deal with during a very stressful time.

Just had Wes from Shiptons do our annual furnace inspection. Super friendly and helpful. Offered to adjust our exhaust pipe to vent away from front door at no additional costs.

Service Technician Chresto Markos was very polite and professional, a 10out of 10. The only thing I would recommend is to have your own portable vacuum to clean up the carbon powder. It took me a bit to clean up my dyson, but all is great, thank you

2 new thermostats purchased elsewhere with-in 2 weeks of each other because both would not let system come on or turn off properly it would run and run and run non stop.they were duds I guess.so I called Shiptons spoke with Terry, very friendly & knowledable she highly recommended Ralph, many years of experience with millivolt systems. He was awesome, knows his stuff inside and out. Installed a new thermostat and now the furnace cycles on and off as it should

The furnace blower motor failed. This meant no AC in the middle of a heat warning. My regular dealer wasn't helpful in getting the part, nor offering any helpful suggestions. I called Shipton's. They were more than helpful with suggestions on getting a new furnace and AC in order to get the AC running. That meant holding off on the new AC unit, but still getting the new furnace hooked up to the old AC unit to cool down the house. Plus they came a day early to do the install! Great service.friendly, well informed staff, easy to work with. We are extremely happy with Shipton's commitment to service. Five Star.

Peter T. (and Robert) conducted a "Precision Safety Inspection" of an old residential gas-fueled boiler heating system. They were both very thorough and professional. Also, they had arrived at the exact time of the scheduled appointment, which demonstrates that Shipton's is respectful of other people's time. On top of that, they were tidy with no mess left behind. They offered tips and advice with an emphasis on safety. I've now installed "additional" working CO alarms (inside and outside of every bedroom in the home).

I have no problem giving Shipton's a 5-star rating. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

Technician serviced A/C on Aug. 4. Air filter had to be ordered. Phoned Shipton's two weeks later to find out status of air filter. Was told that technician reported that he had returned to our house and 'handed' it to us. I don't know who technician 'handed' the filter to, but, he certainly didn't give it to us. And by the way, all previous technicians returning with a filter have installed the new filter and removed the old one, never just 'handed' it to us.
Then I was informed that a technician would be sent to inspect our air filter, which was practically insinuating that we, a loyal 20 year customer, must be either too stupid to know we didn't get a new filter or we were trying to scam a new filter.
As a result of this poor customer service, I have canceled my maintenance contract and the purchase of a new A/C.

Had different ppl from shiptons come out for various reasons to help us with our needs. (Duct work, new a/c and furnace) Everyone was on time, helpful, informative, explained and honest as to what we needed and not needed. We were given choices, not pushy. Called Shipton's to do my annual Preventative Maintenance on my HVAC system. I recently moved to my condo and was unfamiliar with the unit, however, my technician Henrik Li did a wonderful job of explaining the system and systematically checked my entire HVAC system. I needed a (flux) capacitor which Justin James installed the following Monday. He explained what this part did and once installed, spent several minutes testing the part to ensure it was working at capacity. I highly recommend both Mr Li and Mr James and look forward to doing business with Shipton's in the future.

Installation team was effecient and professional despite some unexpected hurdles. Accommodated the situation with tact and a positive attitude.

Fast reliable service within one day of calling. Technician called ahead to confirm appointment.

After cancelling my appt with less than 24hr notice, money was lost on contractor deposits and day off work. I called the company to reschedule and was told the supervisor would call me back within 2hours. It took 3 business days to hear back from them. Afterwards they put my rescheduled appt on hold until I could confirm the following morning, and when I called to confirm they ended up just cancelling the appt altogether. Once again they blamed "miscommunication". I am very disappointed with this service and miscommunication on the companies end.terrible experience and would not recommend Shiptons.

Came in the afternoon looked at the furnace said office would get back to me with price to fix did not call had to get someone else to come that evening because of the time had to spend the night in the cold not very nice I have kids

We had Shiptons to perform maintenance on our furnace and our fireplace. They were late in the morning and after waiting 30 minutes I called and was told they had taken another job so would be delayed. We reschedule for later that day and they were late for the new apt by 20 minutes.

The service tech wore his mask below the nose almost the entire time, including when we were in the same room (I was fully masked). Once the tech left we realized he had left the furnace filter out after checking it.

There were also multiple attempts to upsell various services, including duct cleaning for more than $800 (which is an absurd number). Overall, would not hire again.

Just the best company to deal with. The staff are professional and know what they are doing. Highly recommend them.

Great service. Our oil furnace needed the line bled, and we found most other companies don't work with oil furnaces. (Even the one that delivers our oil.) Called the Shipton number after hours and next morning got a prompt call back, and they had a repairman out about an hour later. Got the job done and no muss no fuss. Highly recommended.

The young man that put in a new filter was very pleasant and explained very plainly about the furnace. In other words it was a very good service call.

Our fairly new AC unit was not working well since installation. We had several other companies come to service and none of them were able to resolve the issue. We ended up calling Shipton's by fluke and that same day they determined the issue and later fully fixed the AC. The service was quick, efficient and the technicians were professional and very skilled at their job. We ended up buying a yearly service package from Shipton's for our entire HVAC system.

If you need to repair or do maintenance on your systems- Shipton's is fantastic. They have always been our go to people. They explain what's wrong and how it needs to be fixed. The techs answer all your questions honestly. 5 stars all around for the techs.

New installs is a different story. We made multiple attempts to reach the sales representative and where we did it was difficult to get clear answers. We were finally able to booked an appointment for an estimate - and they never showed. No phone call. No text. No email. Very disappointed.

As always in time clean and efficient. The technician was friend and very courteous and professional about taking covid precautions. Done business with shiptons since early 2016 and have never been given reason to consider going elsewhere.

There was a power spike which caused our furnace to not work properly. We were pleased with the fast and courteous service and that our issue was fixed promptly.

As part of the new system warranty Shipton's comes to check that the everything is operating at top efficiency. The service people that come are so friendly, courteous and professional. The technicians are friendly and knowledgeable, but the dispatching is really not very good. I've used Shiptons for over a decade, but they rarely show up on time - usually at least 1 hour late and often longer. Nobody calls to explain they'll be late. Sometimes they don't show up at all, or they call to reschedule because they don't have the parts. I know they're probably very busy, but they need to be more courteous to the time of their customers. Last time I used them, the part they installed leaked water all over the floor as soon as the technician left. I had to remove it, apply teflon tape, and then reinstall the part myself. I think they need more staff.

I was upgrading my 23 yr old furnace and AC unit. I visited the website and sent my information via the site. I was contacted by the sales rep, Eren, with in one hour. He wanted to make sure my unit was running. He confirmed a time to provide an inspection and quote. I was very pleased with his knowledge and how quickly he provided me a quote. I was also very pleased that they could install a day of my choice, and was assured their would be no hidden charges. Installation was completed today, and the crew of 2 people was outstanding. They answered my many questions, install was well done by days end and the area was very clean when they left.

Excellent company. The fees were explained to be upon booking the appointment and there were no surprise costs. Peter was our service tech and he was very professional and friendly. I appreciated that he took the time to explain everything he did and also some issues that may need to be taken care of in the future. He wore a mask and shoe covers the whole time he was in the house. Will only be using this company for all our issues in the future. We also signed up for the bi-annual maintenance checks so we don’t have to worry about sudden expenses and can deal with issues as they arise, as well as having everything professionally cleaned twice a year. Very happy I went with this company and would highly recommend to anyone.

Chresto arrived within an hour or so of calling about my furnace that just wouldn’t stay on. Within minutes he diagnosed the issue, repaired it as well as identified my furnace hasn’t been running at full power since it was installed. He was informative and walked me through everything he was doing. I will definitely be calling again if any other issues arise! COVID safe protocols were followed

Our furnace broke down during one of the coldest days at 6pm. We called the business that installed our furnace and done repairs over the last 11 years, and waited for a call back. After several calls to the answering service, we had still not received a call back (15 hours). We decided to contact another service provider. Not knowing who to call, we looked up furnace repair listings, we called several. Shiptons was the first to respond. I'm glad they did. They arrived within an hour of our first call to them. Ralph was awesome, although he had to get a part, he came back with it and had us up and running. He was very efficient, clean and friendly. The pricing was what I expected, not over inflated. Thanks Shiptons for not leaving us in the cold. I will most certainly call Shiptons again, when it is time for more service or maintenance.

Our furnace broke down at approximately 6: 00 in the morning and we had a tech at our home by 11: 30 the same morning. They're fast efficient and very pleasant to deal with. We have been a customer of shipton's for approximately 30 years and would never think to go anywhere else. Some have said they're a little more expensive than others but we are firm believers that you pay for what you want and there's certain things you can't be cheap on.

I have been using Shipton's for the past 3-4 years. I have always had a good experience with the company. The team is always on time, they are professional and reliable, and the company stands behind their products. Whenever I have had something to fine tuned, I just call the office and Terry is prompt at sending someone to take care of it.
My latest interaction was the replacement of the furnace. An initial assessment by one of the technicians found that the repairs were going to be quite costly, so we decided to change the furnace instead. The comfort advisor, Eren, was knowledgeable and offered us a good solution. The installation was done quick and only a few days after we signed the contract. He even called a few days later to ensure that everything had been completed to our satisfaction.
Definitely recommend the company for any AC/heating maintenance/repairs.
