When they first opened, the yellow paint in front of the store showed they cared about customers walking from their car and other pedestrians.

**Update 2 years later: Drivers hit the pilons and a lamp post.
See my latest photos. The landlord hasn't increased the lighting or changed the painting of yellow lines on the parking lot for pedestrians. BEWARE.

Here is my review:
This is a decent location and nice staff especially the post office people.
My major criticism is that the parking lot in front of the store was originally a lot of yellow hash marks that have long since faded. A lot of people don't drive well around here and some people will park in front of the mailbox for example, blocking the view of the entrance.

This is an "anchor" store and the owner has the power to get the landlord to re-do the safety paint, so I asked in 2019 and still nothing. So, I'm lowering my rating to a 1. If I don't feel safe going in and out of a store, how can I give it a good rating?) Sorry to be negative, but I say this is a possibly preventable - accident waiting to happen. ("Negligence - too busy - or they don't care?) To the local owner, you have power with the property owner. No signs/no yellow paint/no crosswalk. How long does it take to write an email? Why NOT do something? At night, your lighting looks like someone has turned down a dimmer.
(See real lighting at Island Road No Frills and you will be amazed HOW bright it is. Then go back to Rylander and you'll see what I am going on about!)

Hi everyone,
We had virtual appointment with our family doctor and our family doctor requested our pharmacy info to fax our prescriptions and I called the shoppers drug mart phone number which is on the website and I have been put on hold from beginning of the call almost about half an hour and no one has responded yet. ” And also they keep putting on hold” instead talk to me once”.
If you don’t have phone services at the pharmacy then please remove the phone information from the website so people should visit in person to ask about the faxed prescription.
I waited and waited felt very uncomfortable right now.

I wanted to comment on Carmen the pharmacist, her amazing professionalism. She administered the vaccine for both my elderly parents. She was very kind and helpful!

This Shoppers is okay for medicine and non-perishable foods, but do NOT purchase dairy at this location. I bought brie cheese that was one month expired (covered in brownish-red mould). It turned out all the brie was expired by a month. When I returned to the store 2 weeks later, the exact same expired cheese was still on the shelf! I've purchased expired milk and sour cream at many other Shoppers locations, so it seems like expired/mouldy dairy products might be a problem with the entire chain itself.

Worst one in the area. Save your time and patience and go to the one off of Port Union. This shoppers doesn't care to answer the phone or fill prescriptions in a timely manner.

Horrible. Made an appointment for a flu shot online and waited over 40 minutes for my shot. The pharmacist helped people with appointments after me and walk-ins before me. Is there a point to the online booking system? Carmen was the name of the pharmacist that wasted my time.

Went to the pharmacy and asked for a medication. The pharmacy assistant told me it is over there go look for it. I went there and noticed there was a few types of it didn't know which one to get. Came back to the counter she hardly paid any attention or say I will be right with you. I walked out the store and drove towards the one in Pickering. What a difference and a excellent customer service for a senior from the one in Pickering.

Worst manager. Went there to get a flu shot we filled out a form and check the "No health card". We were asked to wait for 1hr since the manager was busy and in the end was told that we are not eligible since we dont have a health card. We ended up going to another store and got our flu shots with out hassle.

No one ever picks up the phone at the pharmacy. Train these staff on CUSTOMER SERVICE! The most incompetent pharmacy I have ever been to.

If i could give negative stars thats what this place would get! Please train your staff on CUSTOMER SERVICE starting with how to answer the phone then move on to the apparently difficult task of putting the phone on hold without hanging up your staff is incompetent and unprofessional.this store and pharmacy is a complete disgrace

The wait for prescriptions in person or on the phone is VERY long. They also don't seem to care if there are people waiting. They move slowly, are unenthusiastic and unapologetic for making everyone wait.

I went to get my passport photo clicked. The person clicked blurry picture, and even cut short the image a few mm after printing. Maybe its not his fault, but I regret not going to staples or any other store. Overall, I'm never going back to that store.

Called twice to make appointment for covid testing. Both times I gave up after wasting at least half an hour of my precious time. If you're that busy, hire more staff. Never visiting your location again

Just waited 8 mins to get a first person on the phone, then asked her to patch me through to pharmacy. Waited over 23 mins and finally gave up. After reading reviews, I can see how everyone can be so frustrated with their customer service, or lack thereof.

This Shoppers Drug Mart is supposed to offer COVID-19 vaccines. As other reviewers have stated, the customer service is very poor. I've been calling day after day to see if anyone from the pharmacy will pick up the telephone and no one picks up the phone. Today I decided to see how long it would take someone from the pharmacy to pick up the phone if I simply waited: I sat the phone on my desk and did my office work. I called at 9: 00 am and waited.and waited.and waited. 12 hours later, no one bothered to answer the phone. This is a poor reflection of the Shoppers Drug Mart brand. What if I was a customer who called to find out if my life saving prescription was ready? This is totally unacceptable! I see that someone from the Shoppers Drug Mart headquarters is responding to customer complaints but nothing has been done for over two years! Why is the pharmacy ignoring calls when they are located in the second worst hotspot for COVID-19 infections (Rouge) in Toronto! A local pharmacy is supposed to assist and be responsive to the community. There are alot of senior citizens who live in this locality and we are relying on local pharmacies to help with the COVID-19 vaccine roll out. This location is doing the opposite. Other locations take the time to answer the phone and even if they do not have any vaccine doses available, they are giving the caller an option to add their name to a waiting list. Why is this pharmacy not doing the same? If this is not rectified within the week, I will be contacting the local news agency (CTV news) and have them investigate.

The most incompetent pharmacy I have ever seen! How does it take 3 days to fill a prescription? Other pharmacies will do it in 10 minutes while you wait. This is not even just a one time occurence, this has happened multiple times to the point where I was forced to move all my prescriptions to a different pharmacy. Support the little guys. Forget the incompetent conglomerate. Either that or add 3 days recovery time to all of your illnesses because that's how long they will take to get you your meds

I don't want an appointment at your Shoppers Drug mart. Worst customer service. No response from last one week after booking. No call or text for confirmation. Not picking up call also after long hold. They hang up after holding for hours. I got an appointment at other Covid Assessment centre.

For a person during covid-19 for medication they have to be put on hold or nobody picks up the phone in the pharmacy Department.hello its should be a fast service!

I have visited this store regularly for the past year, and find service to be above average. Self checkout is easy to use, and if there are any tech difficulties a Shoppers employee is always available to assist, even while serving non self serve customers. Cashiers are attentive, able to overlap, take initiative and do an excellent job promoting the company.
The Post office staff are equally efficient and personable, going out of their way to discuss alternative mailing methods and assisting with product choice.
Selection within the store is excellent, including groceries. It is a large store, allowing for distancing and ease of movement. Highly recommended!

If I have a toddler and am shopping for a considerable amount of things; I cannot use a self-checkout machine. Nor can the elderly. Why can't your location provide cashier checkout? When requested the employee responded "shoppers drug mart wants you to use self-checkout". Your customer service is at an all time low and I don't see how you can't provide cashiers for the elderly or mothers/fathers with young children. No, covid is not the reason because you happen to be providing cashier service if someone has cash. Seriously appalled at the lack of customer service and now I understand your below 3 rating.

Check you reciepts people this store frequently overcharges people by scanning the same items multiple times. This has happened to me multiple times and im really getting frustrated with the staff not paying attention to detail.

This is supposed to be a Covid-19 testing facility. Called four times today. Twice I was hung up on and the other two times I was placed on permanent hold. This is shameful and not surprising when you read the reviews. This sham store should be shut down by corporate. At a minimum, the manager should be fired.

Rudest most ignorant pharmacists I've ever encountered.it's like customers don't exist and are just a nuisance.also takes about 15 minutes to go through a cahier as they chat about coupons, cards, prices etc.etc.with every customer.worst place ever
