I recently visited this Shoppers and was thoroughly impressed with the exceptional level of service and care I received.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who were both professional and personable.

The pharmacist was knowledgeable and took the time to explain my medications in detail, ensuring I understood how to take them properly. Pharmacist also answered all my questions with patience and clarity, which gave me a lot of confidence in the treatment I was receiving.

The store itself was clean, well-organized, and stocked with a wide range of products. The waiting time was reasonable,
and the process of getting my prescription filled was smooth and efficient.

Overall, my experience was outstanding. I highly recommend this pharmacy to anyone who values expert advice, attentive service, and a caring environment.

This is by far the worst pharmacy. My husband had surgery so I went to fill his pain medication and I was told that it would take 3 hours. I told the girl that my husband just gad surgery and her response was “the volumes are too high and we can’t handle it, everybody want’s their drugs”. When I said can’t you prioritize for people that have had surgery, she said “we can, but that is not how we are doing it”. When I returned over 3 hours later the prescription wasn’t finished being filled so I had to wait and then the woman serving me started talking to another worker about another prescription. Finally I got the meds, the woman asked me if I wanted to speak to the pharmacist, I said “no” and left. Then to top it off the pharmacy called 6 hours later and spoke to my husband telljnv him that his meds are strong and that I hadn’t talked to the pharmacist, but if I had I would have known their strength and could have gotten an overdose kit. How dare they accuse me of not doing the right thing…they gave me the option…they didn’t do their job. Learn how to run your business properly, prioritize and do the right thing for your customers. Incredibly unaware of the impact their actions has had. I am sure I’m not the only one that this has happened to.

I recommend avoiding this pharmacy.

I have gone to this pharmacy 2 times in the last month and I will never be back. 2 of the 4 technicians that I’ve spoked with have been rude. I tried to give my insurance information and then when I picked up my prescription, they didn’t put it through and so I had to wait an extra 20 minutes (while already waiting in a long line up) for them to put it through the insurance. Last night I went in to speak with a pharmacist. I asked the technician if a pharmacist could assist me with my particular issue, she said yes and the I waited 30 minutes to speak with one only to tell me they couldn’t help me with my issue (all while in pain). Communication between staff needs to be improved. This place needs more staff with an attitude adjustment and the facility needs to be bigger to accommodate the growing population of Orleans. I used to work in a pharmacy myself and I’m appalled by the way I’m treated and the lack of compassion.

Clearly they do not care about customer feedback either as I’ve just now looked at others reviews and they essentially say the same thing.

I was in today August 30th 2023 with Jerelyn for a passport photo. The lack of professionalism was something I had never experienced before. She was cursing in another language in front of me and at me. Horrible experience.

4 hours after my prescription was faxed in by my physician, it’s still not ready. When they asked me if I needed it I said yes I am in immense discomfort with the poor air quality and I need my inhaler. The response was come back in three hours, we are busy. Too busy for good customer service I guess, why am I still coming here?

If i could give it 0 i would. This place is where prescriptions go to die. Ive had nothing bud headaches here for the past years. Luckily they sell tylenol which doesnt require a script to help with that, and the self serve cash ensures i can leave with it. Otherwise.do not get anything sent from your doctors office to here. Tonight i could have left with a prescription that did not belong to me anymore. I told them and even after calling my doctors office to resolve still could not get it right. May i add i also said id have to take all of the released script (again not one i was supposed to even leave with) which being a controlled substance goes against whatever “oath” pharmacists must take. Now keep in mind i have not even paid for them and the pills are still in said pharmacist hand. Instead of saying “no i think we better wait to sort this out with your doctor”… she released them to me… pretty sure you can be penalized by whatever board oversees this governing body. I took my script walked out of the pharmacy to ensure they would actually let me leave.knowing in my head that i would turn right back in to return them, but i wanted to make sure theyd let me leave with them, so that once returned like medicine compliant person… id take this to the absolute highest level with proof by mean of receipt and account history which ive screenshotted so they cannot amend to cover themselves. Well shoppers portabello. You’ve made a huge mistake there. So now that the medicine is returned and im back home without it. Ill update you all on how this plays out.

I did not believe all the negative reviews. I thought they must be wrong but wow… yeah.the pharmacy customer service is right down there with excrement via attitude. God forbid you correct them on a medication on your file. One of the staff members who answered the phone clearly did not appreciate being corrected and was not shy in helping me understand her disposition. I’ll avoid this shoppers and look elsewhere for my needs. I strongly recommend you the reader should do the same. Cheers

This location seems understaffed and the shelves are often empty/not stocked.

When I used the pharmacy services in the past, I was not impressed with how the pharmacist and the technicians spoke to me and explained things both in person and over the phone.

In Orleans there are a lot of different Shoppers Drug Mart options - I will usually go slightly out of my way to choose a different location.

Shoppers drug mart one of my best shopping stores, I visited many locations and always high standards, will do later review for the whole firm
Today I would love to recommend an exceptional staff at this location. I know all employees at shoppers well trained for customer service and excellent at that, Just I was impressed more with Sara’s customer service that was above and beyond.
Saw her first helping out with stuff inside the mart passed by me and greeted me with happy smile then at cashier checkout my items and explaining nicely with patience and elegant talk. I was so satisfied and went home very happy.
Dear readers and managers, with all the stress around us regardless the reason we need good communication skills and a smile in return to buying, selling or whatever activities involved. It’s a big difference to our quality of life ; this my opinion from my experience with various communication styles, smile and willingness to help with nice phrases always win

I would not recommend this store. Please avoid this pharmacy, store, and postal services. The employees at pharmacy are rude. The phone is always busy. The post office inside the store never pick the phone. I was put on hold by customer service for 1 hour twice and both times- the calls were forwarded to pharmacy who were rude. They said they were having problem with their phone lines. But this has happened three times were calls are forwarded to the wrong department.

I send my package by Canada post at this location. It had a tracking number and its been more than 1 month and there were no additional scans (showing sorting at warehouse or transit info) and the item never reached the intended location. The first time I called the location, the employee was rude. I have called so many times to talk to the post office manager. He has not spoken to me even once. I believe my item never left their post office as there is only one scan showing it was accepted at this post office location and no trace after that. I even left my name and phone number for the post office manager to call me back. Please do not enter this store for any business and definitely do not use the post office as your mail will be lost and nobody even cares about lost mail at this location.

I have been coming here since I moved to Orleans in February 2022. I used to be at White Cross Dispensary on Elgin Street and loved going there, staff were friendly and never had an issue. However, since coming to this pharmacy I have had nothing but issues. Slow turnarounds, big wait times (mainly due to slow staff) and issues with prescriptions.

Today I talked to the owner about a prescription they called me about and she said she couldn't find it in her system. The lack of empathy and the tone from the owner was my last straw here. It makes sense why the service here is bad when the owner herself is rude and unapologetic. I will be moving my prescriptions elsewhere.

Awful service. I can't renew rx online as they have to verify something. Told to call a number and when I call I'm told to go to the pharmacy. They don't know what to do. Can never get through to renew important prescriptions. They are "too busy" to pick up the phone. Stop taking more customers if you can't service the ones you currently have. Every. Time! I have to drive there, request my rx be filled and told to come back later. That is not accessible service by any means!

Was scheduled for a med review. Took time off for it and they were 45 mins late. Too late for me to do the med review as I had to go back to work. Disregard for people's time all around!

Money seems to be the driver, not the.costumer.

More than 24 hrs to fill a prescription is unacceptable. I had my prescription transferred to a different pharmacy and they couldn’t even send that right. Their transfer slip didn’t match the original prescription! Terrible place to get your meds filled. Go somewhere else

Only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because I usually get good service here. Today I dropped off an antibiotic at 3: 30pm after spending the day at the hospital. I was asked to come back in an hour. I come back at 6 pm, the girl at the cash tells me it's not ready and asks if I need it today. Um yes I said I would be back. I can't wait to take them I'm pregnant and have an infection. Tells me to wait 30 minutes. I waited an hour. And didn't even get the full prescription because they were out.

I've worked at a pharmacy before and understand that it gets busy, but don't ask me to come back in an hour to then me coming back 2 and a half hours later with nothing, and make me wait another hour. I feel like if that has happened, to at least try to make up for it by putting mine at the front and not make me wait another hour. Very frustrating.

Worst shoppers!

I bough a cream which was in container and as soon as i reached home i realized it was broken and cream was leaking.
I went to store to replace and lady at counter said it was not our store. Anyhow i managed to replaced it.
Went back home, I opened the cream and silver cap was already opened and looks like somebody has used it.

I will never ever shop from this shopper again.

Ever since Jon Snow left (no jokes - that’s his name) the pharmacy team has gone down hill. The team consistently mistakes the price of prescription medication or you’re told it will be ready at a certain hour; but really it will be ready within the next day or two.

This pharmacy has been the biggest pain in the backside that I’ve ever experienced. Expressing that the prescription was filled and was waiting for pick-up. Then we arrive to retrieve the prescription only to be told they called to advise they didn’t have a prescription - the reality was we did not receive any notification of any sort. After we arrived to get the prescription - which is required for today since the prescription is to be administered on a highly strict and regimented schedule - the pharmacy team is scrambling to call other pharmacies seeking to find the medication.

This particular Shopper’s Drug Mart is run by second rate clowns who were hired from a failed three ring circus!

I’m honestly trying my best to be kind while writing this but the innumerable situations and failures on the part of this specific pharmacy has been nothing less than catastrophic.

In all fairness, I must provide praise where it is due and warranted. On two occasions that I can recall, the pharmacy was proactive in contacting the family physician to confirm and reconstitute a prescription. On this particular matter - they were amazing.

Called in an RX for them to fax to my doctor, expecting a few days delay. 9 days later I call to see what’s going on to find out my meds are on back order but they didn’t bother to call me to let me know. Some meds are time sensitive and cannot just wait. When asked why I wasn’t called and advised, I was told I’d have to call pharmacies to see if anyone had the meds in stock and that it was because techs don’t work every day and don’t know meds aren’t filled. Wow, just wow. The pharmacist blaming the techs on this was what sealed me to change pharmacies.

Unable to set up an online account with this store (though that may be on corporate shoppers, not this store) so I need to call them. The issue is they either don't answer the phone or simply leave it off the hook. I have called a dozen times in the past week and and have been met with a dead line each time. I need to go in-person just to start the refill process.

My wife bought a cough syrup at Shoppersdrugmart Portobelo, when she got home and trying to open the box, she noticed it was totally EXPIRED! Nov21. She wasn’t well and it’s frustrating this happened.
So i went to returned this product and found 10 more boxes in the counter they’re all Expire!

I have been a client of the pharmacy for some 20 years. I could not take it anymore: incompetence, lack of empathy and overall bad service. Most pharmacists there are great (except for the new asian looking lady) but the support staff are either overworked or incompetent. I have switched to Sobeys Pharmacy.

I was at ER all afternoon and went there to get needed antibiotic prescribed. Was told it would be 25 to 30 minutes. Fair enough. Went home, came back in 45 minutes. That's when they started looking for the product. Couldn't find it. I'm now over an hour from drop off and am not going to get it regardless. Went down the road and was told it was a very common, always stocked product. So very unimpressed. I was still blood soaked and they couldn't even make the effort to tell me they had none the first time.

I don’t understand what has happened over the past several years but this pharmacy just isn’t good.

They simply do not have the staff to support their customers in having a satisfactory experience.

This review is applicable to the pharmacy. They are under staffed and not efficient. I have seen many times the way they sort the medication for pick up is just ridiculous. Staff can’t find the medication and circle around 5 minutes looking for a pick up medication. The sorting is just terrible and something that is fundamentally so simple to solve.

They never ever answer the phone. I have given up as it’s hopeless… yet you hear of all these services that shoppers offers which no they don’t’ - like call for delivery option - ya you never answer the phoNe. Just get more staff! Sort the stuff properly get a better mechanism and definetly have more than just one pharmacist on the weekend!

I went to pick up prescriptions, I waited ten minutes and not one person in line moved up. When I gave up there were over 10 people in line and still they didn’t bring a second person to help clients. This is not an unusual experience in this drugstore. Another person waiting in line complained about similar experiences.

I really want to give this place 5 stars, I really do. Great location, pharmacy and post office. There's been a lot of reviews stating that service is not great and it's true. The problem is they are not properly staffed. The staff work very hard as you can tell by the long lineups but they don't have the support they need in order to satisfy all the customers. One other thing too, a couple times I have gone there with prescriptions with multiple items. It's either one thing or another but I need to make multiple visits to complete the order. This means multiple dispensing fees but worst of all it makes a sick person leave home more than once to pick up all the medicine. We don't take these pills cause we want to, we take them because we have to! Please hire more people and get your act together filling prescriptions!

Do not call, they don’t answer the phone. I was on on hold for over an hour to find out if they test for COVID. I see other people mentioned they were under staffed and the owner mentioned he would look into it. I guess nothing was done.

The pharmacy has very poor service. Extremely slow, and even during peak hours only one person will be taking refill requests, and only one person will be at the pick up till. Also just tried to get a prescription transferred and no one would pick up the phone. Will be moving all my prescriptions to a new location. Cannot handle the poor level of service anymore.

The pharmacy here is one of the worst. They cheated me by charging extra money for the free blood glucose tester. I was given a free coupon saying that I will get a free Bg meter when I buy a test strips. They were very crafty and added the cost of the meter to the strip and said they were giving away free meter. Very sneaky. Later when I went to buy the strips, I realised I have been duped and the strips costed less! They also took the order for insulin pen and made me run around. Finally I got the prescription transferred to walmart. Good buy shoppers drug mart. Never again.
