I must say that this store requires more staff or some method of dealing with the huge amount of customers that go here. After my wife's operation we noticed that the doctor forgot to add a quantity of one of the medications. We called the doctor's office and they suggested to have your drugstore fax us the request and we will reply. My wife called this particular store and left a message at the pharmacy. They did not call back that day. She called the next day. They did not call back that day either. I went in myself The following day and they explained they get thousands of calls a day and cannot reply to all of them. I understand that if they are receiving that many calls per day that it may be difficult to reply to them all. However, waiting 2 days for pain medication when all that was required was a phone call is unacceptable. This particular store or maybe other shoppers drug marts, need to step up and make their system better. After I drove to the store and explained the situation, their answer was we get too many phone calls in a day, We cannot reply to them all. Shoppers did fax the doctor's office and the doctor's office replied with a fax, we ended up getting the pain medication. We are considering moving to another drugstore.

The pharmacy claims that they offer walk in flu shots between 10am-1pm. When you walk in, they say "subject to availability" sorry, today we're fully booked. Great way to make their customers waste their time.

Added after seeing reply from "owner": the reply just adds insult to injury. Why would I want to spend extra time over the phone? The solution is simple: better trained staff, to provide clear information. And maybe provide real-time info (web site, phone) about walk-in availability.

I am a regular customer at this location as I live near by. The pharmacy counter has always been accommodating to me which explains why I keep coming back. Recently, I noticed errors in prices when I check my own items at the cash. The law says if a mistake happens in the price of an item at the cash, you can get the item for free if cost is less than 10$ or get a 10$ credit if the item is more than 10$. The cashier told me that this law « does not apply »at their location! He called in his supervisor with his name starting with « T » and he stated that he will not apply that law as well! The man was unapologetic and plane arrogant! Not sure he should be having this position and not sure I will keep coming to this location as the price errors have been happening way too much! I’m better off shopping somewhere else…

Normally have good experiences with the store, except for one of the pharmacists who rung up my prescription wrong last time I went and looked very annoyed with me when she had to correct it. Everyone else has been lovely.

I have been using this pharmacy since moving to Barrhaven over ten years ago. I have never had problem and find it has always had what I need in a timely fashion. I have received both flu and covid vaccinations and good advice from the most pleasant of pharmacist. The cashiers are friendly and helpful. I think that if the customer has a positive and patient attitude, it will be reflected in the service. Five stars out of five for Shoppers at Strandherd. I am probably in the store at least twice a week!

I was visiting Ottawa for the holidays and unfortunately I didn't realize I used what could have been an expired mascara.
Resulting into a painful stye.
My doctor was not available due to holiday hours.
So I did the next best thing calling a pharmacist.
Luckily a new bill is passed in Ontario where a pharmacist is able to make diagnosis for minor medical conditions.
I called the pharmacy at this location and the pharmacist Eman was so polite and listened to my concerns over the phone.
She told me to come over asap.
When I got there Eman and Amanda assisted me.
Eman provided the correct remedy for my issue
And Amanda was excellent with helping me administratively.
They were both wonderful!
I had a warm friendly vist and felt the PATIENT CARE
Great team at the pharmacy over all!

Can be difficult to be transferred to the pharmacy. Maybe they are overworked in there. The online ordering doesn’t allow for more then one item in online prescription necessitating a call.

I just recently transferred all of my son's prescriptions to this pharmacy after moving to the area - what a mistake. A woman named Rebecca answered the phone when I had to call for a last-minute prescription refill and to confirm that a mess-up in messaging around pill availability from earlier in the week had been resolved and that the pills would in fact be available before driving over (they were not). She was argumentative, condescending, and unbeknownst to her, the 24hr notice for prescription fills is not a protocol (at least not enforced or indicated anywhere) at every pharmacy, as it was not at my last. This point of it being written on their prescription bottles was the basis of her berating me as I plead for her, just this one time, to fill my son's prescription which I was completely out of. I am a mum to a child with special needs who requires four different prescription medications, three of which are life threatening if he does not receive them. The lack of empathy and awareness around what client/patient servicing embodies is stifling. People rely on this medication to survive and having an almost threatening attendant answer the phone borders on emotionally abusive to someone who has no other options than to accept it. In looking at the reviews it is no wonder this Shoppers pharmacy is rated so poorly.

I know the pharmacy gets complaints but this is a compliment to your pharmacist who I phoned in two prescriptions today. They were supposed to be ready tomorrow Saturday. My husband misheard me and asked for them today. The pharmacist got it ready for him swiftly. Which she/he did not have to as it was not an emergency medicine. So thank you.

Went to buy a PS5 controller. Cashier starts commenting on me carrying my iPad with me, and asking what do you actually do for work! They should do their job, be respectful to customers and not ask unnecessary questions with an attitude.
