After having an unpleasant experience with the rude management and staff at the beauty department in another Shoppers Drug Mart it was an entirely different experience at this branch. The staff were friendly and helpful and told me that what I had been told was policy at the other branch was in fact false. Not only that, they were so apologetic for my bad experience at the other branch and it wasn’t even their fault. From now on I will drive the extra distance to come to this branch. Beware of this pharmacy at Shoppers Drug Mart Bayview in Aurora, Ontario. They are charging people without insurance for medication covered by the government and not refunding when they are caught.
My wife and I were erroneously informed by the pharmacist at Bayview Shoppers Drug Mart, in Aurora, Ontario we needed to pay out of pocket for our daughter’s epilepsy medication and we have spent close to $1000 over the past year on that belief.
By fluke chance, we discovered this issue and presented our complete receipts to the Owner/Pharmacist - who is stating while we are correct, he cannot issue refunds unless obtained within a week.
We do not have insurance and cannot absorb this unearned expense.
Our next step will be to file a formal complaint with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
