Possibly the worst shoppers I have ever used. The pharmacy team are incompetent, rude and uncooperative. My mother received blister packs with the wrong medication with no follow up or explanation. It is Impossible to get thru on the phone as no one picks up. Here I am tonight waiting for my mothers blister packs that were promised this week. She is 97 and down to her last pills and still no delivery.at 9: 40 pm.
This is a sham! How do these people stay in business. We are moving our business first thing tomorrow. Shocking!

As everyone else said, this has got to be one of the worst Shoppers for the pharmacy. The funny thing is, whoever replies to these says sorry blah blah but in reality they do nothing to change it. I have recently moved and transferred my prescriptions to another location and it is like night and day. They are staffed properly, they fill a prescription when they say they are going to and they answer the phone! The problem with the Laureleaf location is that you don't have ENOUGH STAFF! I blame Shoppers not the pharmacists. They honestly do the best they can but when Shoppers doesn't staff properly, this is the result. So, rather than coming here to say sorry, why don't you save the sorry's and just get more staff to help those overworked pharmacists and assistants!

I should have looked at the reviews before planning my covid and flu shots here. Why have an appointment for noon if they can’t see you until 12: 30? I filled in all of the paperwork in advance. I do not recommend this location for pharmacy services.

They can never prepare the medicine on time, each time couple days after doctor send the prescription, I have to go to the store to check the preparation status and then come back the day after to pick up the medicine, and this is the best service they can offered. Usually, they don't input the prescription into system on time, so very difficult to find if they received the prescription or not, which makes me very frustrate, time wasting, I won't go there any more.

My 80 year old dad had 9: 00am flu shot appointment when we went there at 9 the pharmacy manager Nooshin she told me have to wait till 10. There was no one in from of me and no customers at all. I think just because I am Asian. She never wanted to serve us. Shame of her

They never answer the phone. If you can go to literally any other pharmacy please do, waiting 30 minutes to talk to someone about my prescription renewal. Other customers driving here and nothing is ready for them.

Called regarding a patient to obtain a medication history. Was on the line for 40 minutes despite trying to go through the doctors office line & the general line. Phone was never answered. Bad for patient care and the pharmacy is letting their patients down by not answering the phones.

If I could give zero stars I would. This is probably the worst managed drug store in the chain. It took 3 visits to finally get a prescription because they "couldn't find it". Yesterday I watched the clerk spend over 10 minutes looking through piles of paper, checking drawers and looking at a computer and finally looking at the printer output tray before giving up. All the time the lineup grew longer. Eventually I got my doctor to send me a copy so I could print it and hand carry it in. This morning I arrived at opening time (9am) but the store wasn't open. After banging on a window, someone came and unlocked the door. How can Shoppers management let this store carry on this badly (it's been awful for over 10 years).

It was the worst shopping experience I've ever had! The female cashier who served me today was very rude and discriminates against Asian!
26 June 2023 19:27
The pharmacists made repeated errors in dispensing one of my medications, instead blaming the doctor for not sending it over. I called my doctor twice to verify, and this was not true. In the end they discovered that the bottle of pills had already been filled but misplaced in one of their own bins.

This Shoppers Drug Mart is most incompetent location when it comes to Pharmacy and the owner simply does not care.
The cashier at the front is also rude the does not simply care.

This area deserves so much better!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Every time I tried calling the pharmacy, they would pick up and hang up on me, I tried for 30 minutes and no answer.

I went to this place, and the pharmacist took a really long time, 2 hours, for a simple medicine, since she kept ignoring me.

Pros: While the store is small, it has almost anything you may need as you'd expect of a drugstore now owned by Loblaws. Quite happy they now carry some PC and No Name products. Them opening until 12am is also really appreciated, for people who work nights and other nocturnal people like me who often don't have time to shop during the day. If they started to close earlier than that (excluding holidays), then I'd be forced to travel much farther if I wanted to do my groceries.which is a real pain when you have say kids to look after, and need something in the middle of the night, like milk or diapers.

Cons: Like I said before, the store is small.so small, the dedicated electronics section has maybe only a foot of space between the wall and the "island" of products in front if it, leaving no room to walk if they push it closer to the wall.

Edit, May 2023: Hiring good people is hard. I had to point out that the Cashier Supervisor made a mistake on my receipt since she wasn't seeing where she made the mistake. She only saw 3 items, the total items in my bag which was: OFF insect repellent and 2 cases of Bubbly water- not bothering to read the item that I wanted voided (Heads and Shoulders shampoo) was not the the bottle of OFF insect repellent. What accidentally got voided was one of the cases of Bubbly. I had to read it out loud to her while pointing to the receipt, like teaching a child where they made an error on their math homework. She eventually saw it after I pointed it out, and refunded me, and then charged me as normal for the 2nd case of Bubbly, finally making everything correct. I can see why the overall score for this store is under 2ish/5 stars, as that's an accurate assessment.

Original review continued:
Because it's tiny, they only have one cashier at a time (sometimes unmanned), no self checkout, and of course; they won't have a large selection of products or shelf space you're used to seeing at the bigger stores with their limited stock. Don't be fooled by pictures online, this is a tiny store: where almost nobody uses a shopping cart (because there's no room to maneuver in the aisles). With hand baskets being more suitable here.
Another big Con: The perishable products like milk, eggs, bread.etc are more often than not, close to expiration date, or outright expired, with few or no reduced prices for such products like at other grocers.

Overall: Small store, but has most of what you need. However, they should really be on the uptake to rotate and restock more often for the perishables, or else you're just wasting money and going to have more unhappy customers than necessary.

Edit: looks like they changed the layout slightly; electronics area is now bit more open, with half of the rack now behind the counter that you have to ask the cashier for.since you had to do that in the first place, the only real difference is that it makes it harder to window shop or impulse buys, as you'd have to stand in front of the counter, blocking the next customer ringing up.

Also, they added a new register desk.but you know what would be even better? A conveyer belt so people can bag themselves, or a self check out kiosk, because they still usually only ever have one cashier at a time. That would save so much more time for regular customers who shop frequently and already know how it works so they can be in and out much faster, saving everybody's time and money.

They also swapped out the photocopier with a photo print kiosk (doubt it does passport photos but I could be wrong). Good for quick photos, but I suggest get your photos developed professionally like at Henry's for quantity or if you want any sort of longevity to them, because it's otherwise little different than printing them at home on an inject printer.

I ordered the medicine last Friday and asked me to pick it up this Tuesday. I went there and said that I couldn’t order it. I said that you can help me find out which one has it. She said that I am not the only customer and I can’t help you find it.

Parisa was exceptional today at showing me the perfumes. She knew exactly which juicy couture perfume I was looking for, she found the correct bottle right away without any delay.

She also helped me sign up for optimum points. Now I can shop optimally!

Thanks Parisa,
You rock.

If I have a chance to put zero rating, would do without hesitation. Never had any worst experience other than this Shoppers Drug Mart. Two minute service took 20-25 mins me waiting for it. Customer lining up at registers and waiting for so long. I wonder, manager name Alex how he became the Assistant Front Store Manager at this location. He was just looking at the customer lining up and walking around not helping the customers. Staffs doesn’t know how to act or service quick. Having such unprofessional manager and staffs will lead this store a bad remark guaranteed. Such a terrible experience ever had.

I shop here a lot more often than I used to because I love that they installed self-checkouts (pay by card only). I am in-and-out in no time at all, and never have to take out my headphones for any small talk with the cashier. There used to always be long lineups here when it was just two checkouts, but not anymore with the 3 self-checkouts that replaced one of the cashier desks. Although when I do have to speak to someone (like getting a warning pop-up window on the screen saying Assistance Needed), the employees respond quickly enough.

NOTE: Don't buy gift cards at self-checkout-take that to the regular cashier instead.

While self-checking out, I wish there was a big sign somewhere telling customers where to put the hand baskets after they're done. I often see people just leaving the empty baskets there, getting in the way of the person behind them who wants to check out next. I always put my basket away on the stack, as it should be common courtesy to the next person after you.

One downside (or maybe upside depending on how you look at it) to the self-checkouts though, was eliminating my impulse-buys for lotto scratchers, when it's no longer in front of me.

Another downside to the self-checkout is not being able to remove items after being scanned. If I change my mind (like finding out it's more expensive than advertised/printed on the shelf label), and select remove item, it will either remove it, then re-add it without even scanning it (might be a bug), or prompt me to require authorization, and even after getting authorized by a clerk, it STILL shows up on the final bill, requiring me to take it for a refund at the regular cashier desk, which takes up more time than necessary. It's because of this that I always triple-check my receipt as I'm leaving.

On a more positive note, one particular girl in the beauty dept.was absolutely lovely who answered all my questions as I was mulling over which fragrance I should buy (sorry I didn't catch your name).

I've never used the pharmacy for prescriptions, so I can't comment on that, aside from one time many years ago that I got the flu vax here, which went as normal as you'd expect. Nothing to write home about.

One thing that could use improvement is being quicker on changing the price labels. Often times I see something for $X amount on sale, take it to get it scanned, and it comes up as the original price.

Speaking of scanning, the self price-check scanner near the shampoo aisle is busted.should probably get that fixed, as it was very handy to have.

Side Note: I usually buy Monster or Rockstar (all flavours besides original) in 4-pack cases whenever they're on sale, as often advertised on the flyers.but if they started selling full 12-packs for $30 or less on the shelves, there might be a caffeine-addicted junkie that would buy that right up consistently, drinking them at a rate of 1-2 cans/per day. Just saying.

Awful. Pathetic. Pharmacy is upside down all the time. Never answer the phone ever. And always line ups of people.

Horrible experience
Any times I took my prescription to this pharmacy, they’ve made a mistake.
