Very disappointed! The last two times I have had to call the pharmacy in the evening has been horrific! Today I waited on hold 40 minutes and still no answer. Called the store and had them transfer me where after about 10 rings it disconnected. The last time same thing and I was waiting for prescriptions that had been faxed in. This is ridiculous!

They never seem to have enough people working at the pharmacy. Long waits in line while the understaffed workers scramble behind the counter and ignore you.

Staff working the aisles were on their phones texting and ignoring customers and had poor communication skills.

I don't know what's going on with this location. It doesn't matter when you call the pharmacy nobody picks up. This happens every single time I call. As I'm typing this review I've been on hold for an hour and still waiting for them to pick up. On what planet is waiting an hour or more to speak with a pharmacy acceptable? You can call at any point in the day or night and it's the same story. Utterly ridiculous. Do better!

John in pharmacy is excellent.whatever you are paying him double it. Yvonne on cash is absolutely wonderful and always brightens my day whenever I see her. Lovely customer service and needs a raise as well. I've heard the way customers talk to people at this location and it is unacceptable. Yvonne is always friendly and polite to me so anyone complaining about her must be really rude. There are two younger merchandisers who are awesome as well. I really hate how some push for self check-out so I am especially grateful for Yvonne help. I don't want to check out on my own. Owners need to stop pushing that on customers.

Tried to spend PC optimum points on an offer. System wouldn't let me, took far too long in the system, gave up.

Almost an hour of wait time on the line before they had a fix.

Lost out on the offer and an hour of time on the phone.

Find another chain to do business with. Their Optimum system is a pain to work with, and support is slow.

Pharmacy staff are always really helpful.

One older cashier is super impolite, and I (as a white person) have noticed that it's always with people of colour. I'm in all the time, and have never seen her be kind to someone who isn't white.

John, at the pharmacy, is stellar! He knows his stuff, he's very accommodating and his memory for the little things is remarkable! Only 4 stars because there's one member of the pharmacy team, I can't recall her name -she has a dark bob haircut, but she seems very uncoordinated and frazzled all the time. She stresses me out when I have to deal with her because things always seem to end up becoming more complicated than they need to be. Otherwise, the pharmacy team is awesome!

Manager refused to take passport photo of our toddler, I told him the website for this location says that all ages including toddlers and newborns are eligible. His answer was I know, website is wrong.

Ugh, what a waste of time.

Purposely put me on hold over 8 times - each time after picking up quickly and in ten seconds hung up on me. It was so ridiculous that I even screen recorded. This is so embarrassing. At least say you are busy or no one's working around 6pm on a Monday.

I just realized they exclude many items from the senior discount For example, Easter chocolate, eggs, shampoo, and lots more. None of these items were on special! Furthermore, a few months ago I moved my prescriptions elsewhere because there is no personal service at all. They'd never inform me if doctor renewed or not, they'd cancel the prescription quickly if not picked up within a few days. The new pharmacy I chose is the best.

This Shoppers at Bank and Heron is dirty. On five separate visits during the winter the entrance inside the store was awash in salt, grit and slush. No attempt to clean the area on a regular basis. The ailes inside the store were also really dirty with tracked in dirt and slush. Yes its winter, but this is a pharmacy where hygene matters. I have stopped going to this location. Get a mop, scrub brush and some respect for your customers.

Avoid Shoppers Pharmacy.terrible wait times for picking up prescriptions.no longer deal with them for this reason and now get quick service and free delivery at my new PharmaSave:)

If I could give this place 0 stars, I definetely would. By far, I have never witnessed such horrible customer service from all aspects of this shoppers. As someone who wanted to go in to use the washroom.and purchase something to rehydrate, I was firstly encountered by a girl near the front. I asked her where the washrooms were, and she told me that I needed to go to the back pharmacy to ask someone to unlock it for me. I went and stood in line for ages at the pharmacy, and finally told the pharmacist that I desperately needed the washroom unlocked, as I am pregnant, and started to experience pain at this point. He gave me attitude and told me I had to go to the post office lady in order for her to unlock it. I went to the post office section, and since there was a long line I asked the woman next in line if I could quickly cut in to get the washroom unlocked, and she was okay with it. Therefore, I proceeded to ask the lady at the post office desk for the washrooms, and she, in the rudest manner, told me that I have to go all the way back in line and WAIT if i wanted the washroom. I told her please I am in pain, I am pregnant, and really need this washroom. She was no help, and told me to go back to the girl at the cashier in the front. At this point I went back to the girl at the cash, and she told me " I cant leave this desk sorry", in the most unhelpful and disregarding manner. I then left the place, and did not bother purchasing the water. I have never, in my life, experienced such a lazy and unconcerned workplace that was as low as these people. From all aspects, even the pharmacist who you would expect to have some concern for pregnant women, was absolutely apathetic. Shoppers, do better, manage this place in at least an exceptional manner, and hire people that are willing to work, and not be at this level of an inconsiderate mess.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Yvonne at the front cash. She certainly lived up to her reputation of being rude, aggressive and unprofessional. Her behaviour is not only a reflection on the local store but also a reflection on the corporation. Hard to believe that this person is in a supervisory position.

Bought 3 different toothpaste. One of them didn't came to the price which was listed on shelf. Instead of 3.99 got charged 7.29. Within 1min I went back in to return it. I was first told that we don't return it on Thursday, than oh are system is down. Than it crashed 3 times already. So we can't do anything. Come back another day or call us before coming in. I asked for Manager but was told they all are done for the day. I told them to put at least a note saying we are not doing any returns today or at least make the screen visible to customer's so when you are scanning the product if it's not what the customer saw at shelf it can be taken out right a way but they simply said it's not our job. Extremely poor service. If you are treating young people like that I wonder how bad the service would be to the seniors who were all there on senior's day. Fix your customer service. I know you can't do anything thing about technology. Btw it's not the first time this happened at this location but I made sure I raise my concern. Lastly invest in self check out machines. I would definitely avoid this location at all cost.

Excellent service à la vente. Elle connais à merveille son travail et je suis toujours accueilli avec un grand sourire. Elle connait les produites, elle donne de très bonnes conseils et je sors jamais avec les mains vides.

Went in today to get the Medela swing pump. It costs $269 here while it’s 167.79 at Walmart. I went to the lady at the cashier to ask if they match prices. She got irritated and angrily answered no. I told her sorry I asked because it is 167 at Walmart to which she replied “Okay”. I don’t appreciate such customer service. Don’t match prices, that’s your right, but don’t get angry at me especially when I am politely asking.

$28 flat rate for prescription delivery during a global pandemic seems like quite a hefty profit margin. A warning about the price gouge prior to filling a prescription would also be nice since this fee is so much higher than the other (mostly free) delivery services being offered by competing pharmacies. Will be getting my prescriptions 2 days late to transfer to another pharmacy and avoid a fee that is double my cost of the prescription itself.

Protip: Rexall offers free delivery, 200 Rideau location was very courteous and helpful!

Myself and partner just moved into the neighborhood. On Dec 6 2020 we ventured to Shoppers seeing that it was a food essentials location. I will add that we are both exempt from wearing a mask. We travelled thru the store with no questions asked, the customers were very kind as well. We got over to the cold section looking for their Prime Chicken. There was none. There was a Shoppers employee there (with long red hair) so I went on to ask if they carried any Fresh chicken he responded that this location doesn't carry it. (NOTHING said about us not wearing a mask!) We thanked him and walked over to the cat food aisle. It wasn't until then that an employee by the name of Eli came out of the back with the long hair red headed guy demanding where our masks are! We were very polite (as we are used to it) and responded that we are exempt. They both said in unison, very rudely, Both of you? Their tone was unacceptable in any circumstance! The long hair red headed guy (I call him that because he refused to give his name) went on to say that there are NO EXEMPTIONS! Fully going against Ottawa Public Health! Absolutely disgusting! They went on to ask us to leave the store demanding that we leave our full cart of food behind. We did head to the cashier (Yvonne was here name) and they followed us threatening to call the Police! They went on to ask us for our drivers license and calling us "murderers" through out the store. Told the Cash (Yvonne) not to cash us out.which she complied with! My partner had a scarf around her neck that was knitted, so yes full of holes and that was ok? We felt very intimidated and frustrated by the entire situation. We moved from Centretown where we shopped at Shoppers at Bank and Laurier where we also got our prescriptions filled! We will never be back and you will be reported to Ottawa Public Heath!

Tried to get a flu vaccine, took three visits to the store to get an appointment, even though all the signs said no appointment necessary. Registered online to speed things up, but the barcode match with the scanner failed, and manually entering the code did not work either. Had to fill out the forms on paper as the QR scan did not work either. At risk for covid-19 so this was all very risky. Would not recommend trying to get a flu vaccine here.

Honestly, the customer service could have been better. Always check if they give you all your medication you were prescribed. I had to go back because they gave me only one of two medications I was prescribed.

I come to the post office here often and have had nothing but good experiences. The ladies that work here are so pleasant, patient, easy going, and friendly; they never make me feel like a bother. My only wish is that this location had a self checkout. BONUS - I was also able to get the flu vaccine here without an appointment early November, which was a nice surprise after my appointment that I’d booked with Rexall two weeks prior had been cancelled due to a lack of inventory.

Ignored the Rx my GP faxed. They could not fill it (they are not a compounding pharmacy apparently) and did not bother to call me to tell me or forward it to another pharmacy. Thanks for wasting my time.

Yvonne at cash and the woman at the beauty counter were on the phone with each other, loudly and rudely complaining about the regular customer who won't pay 5 cents for a bag. Made it impossible for me to ask a question so I didn't get what I came in for. When I paid at Yvonne's cash, she was unpleasant and down right miserable. I won't be back.

This is hands down THE best Shoppers Drug Mart location. Pharmacy staff are excellent. I've been coming here for 14yrs now and have moved my entire family over to this location. I've only ever had great experiences here and highly reccomend them.

The worst experience, I bought medication there and they gave me the wrong medicine. I asked them to exchange and they refused, I ask if i can talk to the manager. They instead call the police, the police came and ask me to leave. I left the store and few hours later the police came to apartment with trespass ticket. The old lady was rude and racist.

I have used this pharmacy since I first came to Ottawa, (10) years plus.
I have never had a bad experience with the pharmacy and the rest of the store staff has always be top notch in assisting me.

Lots of parking available. This location has quite a bit of grocery which is a bonus. Always clean and lots of helpful folks that work there.

WORST COSTUMER SERVICE In OTTAWA
Long story short -Purchased the Medela swing pump turned out faulty, went back very next day to return it assistant manager named JATIN said on my face HOW CAN I BELIEVE YOU? Deny the fact during the time of purchase that I can return if it turns out faulty. CONTACT Medela it was a faulty product!
Replaced it with unopened box got my refund with zero Compensation zero apology from the manager LINDSAY. Took more than 20 days By the shoppers head office people to sort out the matter.
NO Surprise why the reviews are bad about this location.wish I could rate NEGATIVE

My wife and myself visited this store this week. First I checked on a prescription
The girl at the pharmacy had to change computers the first one froze. She finally gave me an answer, no problem.
Then my wife picked up a few items in the store, we proceeded to the cash,
the cashier rung them thru my wife gave her, her Optimum card, the cash froze
Cashier called over the other cashier, she said to send us to her cash, she rang the items thru the cash, guess what this cash froze also.
By this time the cashiers moved to another cash to ring the items thru, yes the cash again froze.so before they were able to ring it thru the cash without incident and having the cash freeze was on the 6th attempt.
Obviously this store or maybe the whole Shopper 's chain has serious computer issues, but it was likely 40 minutes to get us thru the cash.
Also I have been very rudely treated on a previous occasion at the pharmacy counter by one individual who still works therembut in my opinion should have been fired a long time ago.
I would find another pharmacy chain to deal with.

Worse service by manager Kathleen, she was in the middle of helping me with manager passcode for the photo print off. Knowing she had to enter another code for my photos to print off, she left the store and the cash staffer said she would be back later, at least 10 minutes.

Came in on Sunday to purchase tablets for my autistic son. Dealt with a really rude super tall lady. I complained to the cashier (super tall lady scared me) but just got brushed off. I'm a regular shoppers customer and this made them look bad. I usually have great experiences at other shoppers. They have to look into this particular branch and make sure they fix the customer service issues.

Younger woman pharmacist (seems new) was rude, unprofessional and not very well-trained. Made me pay 5x more than usual. I had to come back to correct the amount paid and get a refund (much longer process - I pre-ordered via phone so I could just quickly come and go). She noticed that she got an error with my insurance (old plan) and proceeded to not tell me so I could update it. Made me pay the higher amount instead. When asked about it, it seemed my fault for not noticing that THEIR system didn’t accept the old insurance plan number. Nope, if you did your job correctly, then the whole delay could’ve been avoided.

The pharmacy staff not nice at all and they're rude and they have bad service. I was there today and they let me wait for long time and when I asked one of lady's.she answer me with anger even without saying sir or saying sorry for waiting or anything (we called the pharmacy manger to look it.) so never go there again.
