One of the pharmacists was very abrupt and did not help when I was in need of over the counter meds.he had a crazy set of rules as to why he couldn't suggest.amongst them was that I do not have a medical history/purchase with the location. Extremely not helpful.please escalate to the owner.

Had a great experience with the pharmacy this morning. Anthony, the pharmacist administered vaccines for me and my Mom. He explained the vaccines well, was very accommodating and had good bedside manners, which I appreciated especially for my Mom. Christina, the pharmacy assistant, provided great customer experience, knowledgeable and was very friendly too. I could see happy customers leaving the counter. Both were professional and pleasant despite the busy morning. I can say we were taken good care of by them. Thank you, both!

My wife is indigenous and I brought her prescription to this pharmacy and they refused to proceed with indigenous card and said it’s not valid in Markham locations probably because it’s occupied by Asians so it’s not Canada. It was said in a bad Asian attitude, I am sure if you have ever had arguments with asians you know exactly what I am talking about. Regardless, I am taking this anti-indigenous people to the court so they are reminded who’s country do these Asians live in.

I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the pharmacy today.

My doctor had recommended a coupon for me to use for one of my perscriptions. I brought in an electronic copy. The staff member assisting me wouldn't look at it. She insisted that it had already been applied. I had to explain they were processing it through my insurance plan. She then tried to brush me off, and said they couldn't just hand out the medication and that I couldn't "just go to every pharmacy to get freebies" at this point she hadn't looked at the coupon at all.

I had to explain my financial situation before she would even attempt to look at the coupon. In front of the line up of other people. Then she claimed the coupon was not valid as I have insurance which isn't stated anywhere on it.

The entire experience was frustrating, humiliating and insulting.

This pharmacy is truly as bad as it gets. I have contacted the owner 3 times in the past couple years. They are wildly understaffed, as can be determined by the 45 min wait times to speak with someone on the phone. Also they are consistently 12+ hours behind on prescriptions, inconveniencing customers. I actually don’t blame the staff for being short with people, as they appear very stressed out and confused. Training also plays a part in this, which is also an owner/management issue. The store has actually developed a bad reputation within the community. Must be tough to go into work at this place. The one star is for the staff running their buts off, with no sign of relief.

Poor consultation service from the pharmacist. I showed a surgical scar gel sheet product photo that my physiotherapist recommended for a healing aid then for 3 minutes debating me why it is not efficient before finally pointing me to where they sell it. Also defaming me for not knowing what kind of scar definition I had before showing her, she didn’t want to see it either. She got more defensive in her talk when I mentioned “physiotherapist”, lost in her ego. Thank you to the kind lady who was in line behind me after overhearing the talk sharing guidance from her personal surgical scar healing experience with me. Reading other reviews, I am definitely not the only one coming back with a poor experience from this pharmacist.

Glad to see countless others have called out the unprofessional pharmacist at this location who gives out unsolicited "medical" advice - which, by the way, she is absolutely not qualified to do. If you see a middle-aged Chinese lady pharmacist at the drop off desk, do not answer her questions and do not disclose anything to her about your health conditions. Pharmacists are there to mix drugs and fill prescriptions - NOT TO GIVE UNSOLICITED MEDICAL ADVICE. It is so unprofessional. Based on the number of reviews calling her out, I am quite surprised she's still employed here.

This is the closest pharmacy to my house, but I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I strongly recommend to avoiding this place. This place sells fake gift cards! We brought 3 $50 Esso gift cards at this store, and only one card can use at the gas station, another 2 cards says no money! We went back to the store the cashier told me the gift cards are not exchange and return, gave me the number to call the customer care! At the meantime I figured out the back of the gift cards have fake barcodes stick on those 2 cards! First picture is good one, another 2 have barcodes stick on them!

The pharmacist assistants are the worst here. Never acknowledge that you're here to drop off a prescription or waiting for a pick up. They purposely continue on to do their business and ignore that you're waiting there when there's no lineup. I have experienced the worst customer service here that I filed a complaint to the owner couple of years ago. Yesterday was the final straw, my extended health coverage was updated, I advised the PA my new card, she rebills the Rx and gives me my meds with no thank yous or any other acknowledgment. I'm transferring all my meds to Walmart pharmacy at Copper Creek, I don't need to be put up with this type of attitude.

This rating is strictly for the Pharmacy based on my experience on Sept 1st, 2022. I will most likely bring a complaint with OCP and/or MOHLTC for ODB billing fraud regarding this matter.

I went to the pharmacy to refill a Rx that I had previously gotten from this location on July 8th for a senior under the ODB program. The patient is under the $100 deductible/$6.11 copay category. I had mentioned at the time (July 8) that the patient had taken the medication for a month and there has been a dose change that was reflected in the prescription transfer. As a result, although I had requested 3 months and the prescription had a 120 day authorization, the staff informed me they are only giving a month due to the dose change. The 30-day ODB Trial Rx program isn't one where the quantity is limited to 1 month on a molecule the patient has already tried out for a month. However, I let it go as I was in a rush and needed the prescription that day and figured I could get the remaining 90 days on the next refill.

I went back to refill the remaining quantity on Sept 1. The prescription intake staff looked up the Rx # in the bottle from the previous fill that I had given her and informed me that a refill was already done for this patient. WHAT?

She then proceeded to grab a bag from their pick-up bins and moved to the pick-up counter to cash me out. After I verified the last name, I mentioned it's puzzling the prescription was already filled as neither the patient nor I (the POA) ordered the refill. I asked when the Rx was refilled and I was informed it was on Aug 2nd. The explanation given as to why it was filled without mine or the patient's notice to refill was that it was done by "Auto-fill".

I did not consent to any auto refills when I first filled the medication on July 8th. I wouldn't have as this is a medication where the dose keeps getting adjusted based on the patient's symptoms. Additionally, the phone number on file accepts voicemails and text messages. There was no message left by the pharmacy during the week of Aug 2nd to say a refill was done and waiting to be picked up. No phone calls or voicemails to say there was a prescription refilled and waiting to be picked up in the last 31 days.

In summary, the pharmacy had a prescription billed to ODB (after Aug 1 when the $100 deductible would have started) and waiting in their pick up bin for more than 30 days without informing the patient. Furthermore, the refill quantity was for 1 month (again!) although I had gone in to get the remaining authorized quantity (3 months supply) as a refill.

Why is this pharmacy billing ODB and performing Rx renewals that were not ordered by the patient/physician/POA?

Why is this pharmacy only REFILLING 1 month supply on a prescription where the remaining authorized quantity is for 90 days, the patient has completed the ODB Trial Rx period for it and the POA had requested 3 months supply from the start?

Why is there a medication billed to ODB waiting in the pickup bins for 31 days where the patient was not informed there was a refill waiting to be picked up? Does the pharmacy diligently submit reversals to ODB when a prescription has not been picked up or are the medications just returned to stock after a certain time has elapsed and no claim reversals done to ODB?

Needless to say it's quite shady for a pharmacy to refill a medication for a patient, bill ODB and not notify patient at all whilst also deciding to give 30 days out of 90 days remaining authorized quantity.

It's also bold of the pharmacy to refill a prescription with the assumption that it would continue to be refilled there.

Every time I call to refill a very crucial prescription, the phone line is busy and I can’t even get through to a pharmacy line. Very unprofessional and I now will be sick another day because I cannot get my medicine. I regret using this location.

Absolutely the worst pharmacy ever, they shouldn’t be able to operate this location. Called and called numerous times only eventually to be placed on hold without them even answering the phone. So I figured I’d wait and see since it was at least something closer to getting someone to answer my call. After almost 15 minutes on hold, a woman with an Asian accent answered the phone and was extremely rude after asking if my prescription was ready to be picked up as it had been called in by my doctor three days prior. She said it wasn’t filled and that they were too busy and still working on filling scripts from last month! She went on to rudely tell me if it was important that my doctor should have said so. Hello people, this is a prescription, they need to be filled because people need them then, not a week later. Never again, stay away from this location, they don’t deserve your business

This location has to be the worst shoppers around the area, there is no staff working at the cash and if assistance is needed is difficult to find someone to assist you with anything. Shelfs are always under stocked, the entrance area is always dirty and the sanitizing station is overflowing with garbage no sanitizing wipes available and no baskets are available. This location used to always be fully stocked compared to other shoppers around the area but for the past year and a half is gone downhill in both quality of service and the shopping experience, unfortunately I will not be returning here again.

Stay away, by far the worst pharmacy I’ve ever visited. I’ve been told to come back after 30 minutes to pick up the prescription. I came back after 40 minutes to line up again for another 15 minutes and being told then to wait another 20 minutes. After that wait time they still could not get it ready so I decided to leave - totally lost confidence in having them preparing the prescription, not worth the risk.

Truly the worst customer service at this pharmacy I have ever received anywhere. Consistently rude, have zero training or empathy towards their customers and generally all just seem to hate the public and what they do. I have recently switched to another pharmacy because they were so hard to deal with. I normally wouldn’t write a review for poor service but I would hate for anyone else to receive this treatment.

DO NOT FILL YOUR PRESCRIPTION HERE. It will not be ready. They will tell you to wait. It will not be ready again. You will come back on another day. You will call to ensure it is ready. Still, it will not be ready and they will tell you to 'wait on the side. ' This is the most disorganized pharmacy I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. Save your nerves - go elsewhere. If your prescription was faxed here already - ask your doc to fax elsewhere. This is the faster path to getting your prescription.

We are in a pandemic, during a lockdown, and you have nothing better to do but go to shoppers drug mart to check your useless tickets, last time I checked that’s not essential, show some respect shame on you!

There was a great stock of different products and was convenient because they also had meat, fruits, and vegetables too! The only reason why I didn’t give this a 5 star is because the deals were not too good. There were barely any manager mark downs and weren’t too many good deals.

This is kind of late, but my friend and I came to this Shoppers about 2 weeks ago to find a good perfume for us to each individually purchase. The sales associate in the Beauty Department, named Seema, noticed that we needed some assistance and was very eager to help my friend and I with testing out perfumes. Interacting with Seema was one of the most pleasant interactions that I have ever had with a sales associate, thus far. She was so knowledgeable of the merchandise displayed to the customers, and was very happy to give my friend and I some direction in regards to not only fragrances, but skincare as well. Seema displayed exemplary customer service - my friend and I could not stop thinking about how kind and helpful she was. Thank you, Seema, for all of your assistance! You are beyond awesome!

This review is for the pharmacy only, the rest of the store is fine (i.e. Post office, lottery, etc.). Incompetent and rude we have tried to deal with this store on several occasions and its always a poor customer experience. The pharma assistant is not knowledgeable and the pharmacist has a real attitude. Take your business elsewhere to Rexall or Costco. We keep trying them because they are close to home and hours are good, but save yourself the headache.

Poor customer service from a manager and a cashier. I went there with my mom today and the cashier told my mom to check her lottery and scratch cards at the back so, we did! Then, my mom came back to replay her lottery and claim her scratch cards. A new cashier took over because the other cashier was on break. Anyways, the machine was not properly scanning some of the cards. Then, the manager took over to help the cashier. And he asked my mom if she checked her tickets already because he said to her that he doesn't want to "WASTE HIS TIME SCANNING THOSE SCRATCH CARDS AND LOTTERY". And both cashier and manager are talking about another customer! I overheard her saying that she doesn't care about losing her job!

I give this Shoppers location a 2 starts purely because their stock is usually quite adequate and the variety is there, there is a Beauty Boutique and likewise they have a CanadaPost. However I cannot give more than that due to the pharmacy services that I have received. When I moved to the area and had all of my prescriptions transferred via the online program and called to ensure that this was done - I got put on hold on 3 separate occasions and calls dropped on me. When I finally physically went into the store to see if they were transferred and filled - they weren't and was told to come back the next day.

Also at the beginning of the pandemic and in person I was refused a prescription that I desperately needed and redirected me to my doctor to get another one (I received it by email and was told they would not reach out to my doctor for me to confirm the validity and that it was my job to obtain a hard copy of one instead of email - we're in a pandemic be a little bit more lenient). I went to another Shoppers and they took it no problem!

I also broke my foot and had to come in to drop a prescription off prior to an appointment to which I told them I would arrive the next day for pick-up - I got a text message an hour later that it was complete. I unfortunately wasn't able to come in to pick it up until 3 days later - I had to stand in a line-up of 5 people (again on crutches) to hear the response that it wasn't ready yet and I would have to wait another hour.

It seems this location does not have a priority system or any sort of organization or collaboration with the online system - unless you are getting over the counter medications there is no point in using this pharmacy. I have since switched all of my prescriptions to PocketPills which is a completely online legitimate Canadian pharmacy that mails your medications to you and reaches out to your doctor on your behalf to ensure you are never out of medications - no more standing in line to be told your meds are not ready!

This location is convenient. There is a beauty boutique and a post office in the store which is great. This negative review is for the pharmacy, I’ve had missed prescriptions as well as a lot of miscommunication with a special drug that was ordered. It was absolutely frustrating. They leave blank voicemails also which I find very odd.

Found a laptop on the flyer, ran to nine different stores for it, most stores has no laptop for sale and some store have it but not the model on the flyers, can not search online and the staffs can’t evens check it with their own app/program. In my opinion there is a no point of having a product on the flyer when 90% of the stores doesn’t have it.

She gave her things. Then she.gave my milk. The girl in the counter refused my milk. My daughter explained that I am buying separately and paying separately. She refused My daughter requested to call the. Manager. A lady came. Daughter asked for the name of.the counter.employee and they refused to give the name. I appealed to.treatment with. Kindness. It. The customer service and employees are not very kind and have a negative attitude towards their store customers. When I visited they respected us in an ill manner. They used profanities and not letting us speak to the manager. They also, had the I don't care personality which is not fit for the job. In our visit the employees there also had several arguments with other customers. Also, by policy they could give a name or person to talk to. They did not and repeatably asked the customers identities. This is not fit and can harm the whole companies reputation and name with new customers. Also, they disrespected several elderly folks that went there as well. In a time like this, where everyone could help each other, they disregarded an important value the customers.

Worst pharmacy in the area. I have been trying to transfer my prescriptions to Walmart for three months as they have made me pay out of pocket for a prescription my insurance actually covered, constantly raise the handling fee, and didn't call me to tell me that they didn't fill my prescription on time for it to be delivered. I have asked to speak to the owner only to be told he's not in, and then when I ask him to call me back, he doesn't. Today I called Walmart only to learn that they were never able to contact Shoppers to get my prescriptions because Shoppers never answered the phone. I am trying to call Shoppers to get it resolved, have been on the phone for two hours (nothing new with them), and am so incredibly frustrated that they're holding my prescriptions hostage when they clearly have too many clients to take care of me properly anyways.

The pharmacy team is a joke. Never expect them to answer when you call the first time, expect to be rerouted 3x. I dropped a prescription off at 11am, told them I'd be back between 4-5pm to pick it up. At 6, it still wasn't ready. When advising that we had picked up prescriptions from another shoppers drug mart location, Jennifer rudely interrupted saying they are not associated with any other stores. Once I was able to finish my sentence, I advised her that our profiles had been transferred over. She also jumped to the conclusion that they did not get one of my prescriptions transferred over, only to open her eyes and see that it actually was. I'm tempted to drive the 35 minutes and recieve service from a pharmacy team with manners and customer service

An item was on sale price. I brought the item to cashier to pay but price was different there. I informed the cashier about that sale price but some Filipino skinny lady employee was very rude and totally refused to give item on sale price and began arguing. Extremely rude and bad customer service.

Shoppers Drug Mart (6579 Hwy 7, Markham, ON L3P 3B4)

We use this location because it’s only down the street from us, since we moved into the area, five years ago. However, this is one of the worst customer service location. They always have a “don’t bother me” attitudes whenever you have a question.

I went to buy some dairy products and eggs today. When I get to the cashier, the South Asian lady Cashier from the other counter shouted to my Chinese lady Cashier accused that I had brought some eggs already. The Chinese Cashier serving me then immediately accursed me the same with a very poor attitude, without any proof; and threatened not to sell any more to me in a threatening tone. In fact, it is my first visit to this store in the last 2 to 3 weeks – didn’t go out too often in the COVID period.

I do understand their “concern”, yet their attitude does bother me. I was upset by this unreasonable accusation. I demand to see the manager, and he came. Yet, his attitude is disturbing as well. No wonder his staff behaviour like that. I ask him to check my account and cctv to get some proof, and he went, without coming back. And another White lady staff came and tried to check my Optimum Card activates to see if my claim is correct, but in vain, after she ran to the back. Then, she said she will let me go “this time”, underlining that I was still under accusation – without and reasonable ground.

Being also a front line retail operator, and a seasoned Customer Service Trainer myself, I am fully appreciate the pressure of the front line staff. However, it is just not how you treat your customers - Very Disappointed.

It’s troubling to experience this unnecessary miserable situation during this pandemic.

Had my wisdom tooth removed and my dentist sent in the pain killer to this pharmacy. The Pharmacist (a Chinese lady - didn’t get her name) told me it will take 45 minutes. There were no other customers around. We were waiting in the car and saw the lady leaving after her shift ‍️. If you don’t care about people please find another role. Your not suited for a role that requires empathy. Came to write a review and saw many of the low reviews were for the pharmacy. Please do something about it. Some of the negative reviews for the pharmacy go back two years. I am writing this in a lot pain.

This is the worst pharmacy. I come here due to how close it is to my house and they said it would take 1 hour for my prescription and I came back 2 hours later and it’s still not ready and they were not busy. The pharmacists were laughing and talking and not taking into consideration the customer’s time. The pharmacist and pharmacy technicians did not apologize for making me wait and wasting my time. Will never come back here to do anything with the pharmacy ever again. Front store however is okay with their service but I’ve been served better

Horrible service! You call the pharmacy department, and they purposely place you on hold for a long time so you can hang up! Its been like this for a very long time. Also, experienced really rude staff - strictly in the pharmacy department.

I am here at the pharmacy right now, Sunday 15th 2019. There are 2 people in the pharmacy, the pharmacist name is Swana and I didn't get the other person's name. Both are very rude and not helpful. I'll never come to the pharmacy again here.

As per your suggestion I called the 1-800-Shoppers, what a waste of time. Between the wait times and putting me on hold, after I've explained the previous interaction in the store, the staff on the phone wanted to know what was the reason for my call and what was I hoping to get from the phone call. Then I realized It was a mistake calling the number.

Several bad experiences with the pharmacy always ruin it for me at this location, which is a shame because not all the staff are terrible, but that's always my lasting memory when I leave the place. They need better management or else they will lose customers. I'm not sure what is going on, but there seem to be problems within the pharmacy department- A few times I have seen staff being rude to one another, and unfortunately every time I seek assistance there are many staff members milling around in the back, noticing me, but no one wants to offer help. Ppl refer to others and you get bounced around. It's as if no one is happy there and they've given up on working. Staff are rude and standoffish, except when it's an older man.then they are very excited and giggly. I've given up on this pharmacy. If they need better working conditions then I hope they can get it. In the rest of the store it seems like others are rough around the edges, but they try a little to be nicer to customers and create a place that everyone will look forward to returning to.

The pharmacy charges insane prices, guardian charges 15 compared to their 40? Unbelievable.straight up robbery for someone trying to get better and the staff are very patronizing.if you have money to blow then this is your place.

I’ve been using the pharmacy here for many years now and they were reliable for a long time but recently, they have become completely unreliable. Just this past month.

Ordered an Epi Pen refill online - took days to fill. While waiting - I walked into Walmart and filled a prescription for an Epi Pen in 15 minutes.

Then I needed an antibiotic cream - my doctor sent the prescription to them directly. Went there 45 mins later - they said they haven’t received it. It’s been 2 weeks now and I still haven’t gotten a call to pick up my prescription yet!

If you need a prescription and it’s important or urgent - go to any other pharmacy!

The pharmacist working Saturday evening is very rude. I called to get some advice on a prescription and he gave such attitude saying he didn’t know what I was talking about. I asked if I could take gravol because the antibiotic I was taking was making my stomach upset and he said he didn’t THINK so. What the heck! He doesn’t think so. He told me to ask the pharmacy where I got the prescription filled. I got it filled at another pharmacy but they are closed now and I simply just wanted some advice but clearly he doesn’t know what he’s doing and was not helpful at all. It shouldn’t matter where the prescription was filled the drug is the same drug. I thought Shoppers Drug Mart cared about it’s customers, I spend a lot shopping there even though many items are overpriced. I will be taking my business elsewhere. I guess it really shows how Markham has changed. Once upon a time it was a caring community but now even pharmacists act like we’re an inconvenience to them.

Do not use this Pharmacy! Over price, insurance will not paid the full amount. We had very bad experience with their pharmacy department, we had a account with them for 10 years, every time they just submit it to our insurance company direct, but when their computer system was down, they wouldn't give us the medication unless we paid ahead, (they should just give us the med.and submit later, but they didn't.it caused us a lots of problem to get us $50 back from the insurance) so we paid, and they gave us a receipt with unreadable micro printed letters, and it can not be claimed with insurance. Finally they gave us a better print, but the insurance only paid 60% of it (the average cost of the province) because this pharmacy over charge 40% higher then the average costs of the the drug in Ontario.

It seems that this location only hires very rude and unprofessional pharmacists. My mom has called from last week to refill her prescription and today she told them she will be there in an hour and they still haven't done it. You can stand there and wait like a fool while the pharmacist is chatting away on the phone. Both my parents complain every single time. This is the closest pharmacy by our house but I will make sure they never come back again.

Went on x-mas day to fill prescriptions I had received from the hospital. Despite working on x-mas, the staff members at the pharmacy I spoke with were very kind. In particular, one lady (dark hair, lip piercings) patiently spent the time helping me try and find coverage from my college in order to save money on my prescriptions. The pharmacist I spoke with during my prescription consultation was very kind. Had a great experience.
