Shoppers Drug Mart

I just tried calling the pharmacy, after 20 minutes of waiting I hung up. They clearly ignore patients calls and have no consideration for peoples time. Go some where else if you can. Don’t waste your time with the incompetent people who work here.

I went to get some snacks after a long day at work.i had brought my reusable bag with me and I had made my way down to the drinks section where I picked up a bottle of Coke. I changed my mind, put the bottle back on the shelf and picked up a bottle of a different brand of drink, along with a bag of chips. I made my way down to the self check-out and paid for the items I decided on. As I’m about to leave, I’m stopped by a man who identified himself as undercover security (there was also a security guard in uniform behind him) and he wanted to see what I had in my reusable bag. I figured there’s a lot of thefts going on in the area, so I understood his concern and let him check my bag. He took everything out. In the bag, I had nothing but the items I paid for, as well as 2 items I bought from a store prior to coming to the shoppers. I had both my reciepts in the bag and he was able to check everything. Instead of checking the reciepts to make sure everything in the bag was not stolen items, he continues to ask me “where’s the black bottle? You were holding a black bottle”. I was initially confused, but then realized he was talking about the Coke bottle I had initially picked up. It was at this point where I felt like he was making me out to be a criminal. The sad part is it’s not only the Coke bottle that he asked about (which I put away back on the shelf as previously stated) but he also asked questions like “what is the bottle? ”, refering to the drink I settled on and paid for. If he had actually checked the receipts in my bad and been mindful of what items he was looking at, he wouldn’t be so harped on the Coke bottle that he so convincingly thought I must have stolen.

I’m not the only one who has been made to feel uncomfortable and targeted at this location. Below is a review that someone left 4 months ago (search 1 star review of this location and you’ll see it) about their experience at this location:

“I was at this shoppers tonight going to pick up some personal products and I picked them up and put them in my reusable bag and I went up scanned them both thinking I need then but then I thought only one of themI really sure about so I told my fiance I was not sure about both and I wanted to check, so I removed one and put it back in the bag and was waiting for my fiance to check out his item so we could go to the pharmacist and confirm if I needed both or just one. Before I could even go back the security at the front asked my why I removed one of the items I told him I needed to speak with the pharmacist and the cashier then chimed in and said "No I did not need to go to the pharmacist" so I took out the item and showed her why and she just nodded her head and let me go to the pharmacist and the security walked away never to be seen again. I was so embarrassed by this experience. I've worked in lost prevention and this is not the way to do I even spoke with the cashier and she said "oh it's because it's expensive". The item was only $21 there was no excuse for his behaviour. Hire better security or retrain them on how to do their job. ”

They’re not going to change how they operate here just by these reviews. They’re going to continue to treat people through prejudice. Now that we as customers are encouraged to bring our own reusable bags, profiling is only going to increase in places that don’t have adequate security, like this place.

The Shoppers Drug Mart Customer Care team can kick rocks. We see through the BS responses. Folks, there are other locations and different stores you can go to.

Went to the pharmacy at this Shoppers Drug Mart and had to wait because the Pharmacist was checking her blood pressure while a long line up of customers was waiting. This is totally ridiculous.

Worst garbage shoppers I have been ever to. All the cashiers at 11: 17 one lady and a guy were super rude. My wife had to go to the washroom in emergency and they said they do not have public washrooms. I have been to other shoppers and they let you in usually in their washrooms and they are polite, but these people made me super angry and rasist too.

Went to store today to return Dove shampoo, conditioner and treatment that when used the perfume smell resulted in a headache. Purchased Jan 5th, I had the receipt. Was told I couldn’t return it because it was used (small amount missing from each bottle) they would not be able to return it to the shelf. I replied, how would I know of the smell until used. Another question: Why was I returning it there when I purchased it on Kipling. I replied this was my main SDM location, and why would it matter where returned it was still a Shoppers location. She (Lillian) then called manager (Noel), I could hear her saying it was body cream, I asked to speak with him. He came to the counter with an attitude, I tried to explain again the situation and open the bottle for him to smell how strong it was. He was really agitated that I did that - but I was making a point now. In the end, he agreed to give me my refund, but really I’m not sure why a simple return had to turn into such an unpleasant experience. Makes you wonder how many used items they put back on the shelf at this location? Going forward I will find somewhere else to purchase my health and beauty products.

This store like all Shoppers Drug Marts have raised their prices through the roof!
I went in to shop and left after discovering the price of everything went up $6.00 to $8.00 per item. No sales anywhere!
Corporate greed at its best. I will shop elsewhere.

I go to this location frequently to load my presto card and grab a few items. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The store is always clean and tidy. They are normally very well stocked with sale items from the flyer. Great location to go to

I always come here late at night from like 12-3am so this may not be for everyone. The workers at night are really chill and its honestly really calm and smooth, no problems. Also its always clean and looks nice.

I am so happy today that Mohamad the pharmacist took the time and showed me how to use the diabetes machine and strips that I got. He was very caring and explained things thoroughly however the associate staff at the pharmacy not the best customer service. The cosmetics counter staff are very friendly.

Its OK overall but the Canada Post staff are.unreliable and often nowhere to be found for 5/10 minutes at a time.

Worst shoppers in Ontario. These guys always have bare shelves. Everyone I go for something specific they never have it, and the shelves are empty. Even the shelves near the checkout are empty. Managers need to do a better job in getting inventory instead of stocking old dvds and magazines

This is the worst Shoppers Pharmacy I have ever had to deal with. I set up online prescription refills so I wouldn't have to call them anymore because they never answer the phone or leave you on hold forever.

Only to not even get the whole prescription when you pick it up. Their customer service is beyond terrible and I do not know how these people even keep their jobs.

You would get 0 stars if it were an option. Do better you are dealing with people's medications some of it life saving

Pharmacy staff has no clue how to do their job. Unprofessional, lose prescriptions. The Dr at walk inn told me it's the worst pharmacy and now I can see for myself why. Never experienced such horrible service

The rating I gave to this location is inspite of the store opening 24/7 and no crowd the staff at pharmacy told to wait for 1 hour rudely for prescription when i went to buy some medicine at 10.30 pm what is the point of opening it 24/7 when you can’t give the medicine when there are no customers, no queue at all. Are the staff there for fun? Really disappointing service at the time of urgently needed medicine. Never ever go there again

I went to do a return because of an online order. And the lady at the customer service was very rude and told me it was a hassle to do a return. She was very condescending in the way she communicated toward me and did not want to help. I had my receipt and product wasn’t open but she was telling me to sell my product online instead of returning it. In the end, the post office rep was kind and actually helped me return the product back. The customer service lady was not helpful at all and did not want to help at all and kept blaming me for trying to return an online order and that it was “a hassle” for her.

This is supposed to be open 24 hours. I need my antibiotics prescription filled. It’s 5: 30am (Thursday Jan 5 2023) and the store is closed yet been on hold (pharmacy number) nearly an hour. Shame on this store for not following through where it’s supposed to be 24 hours open!

High prices and no service. Service has definitely gone downhill since Shoppers was acquired by Loblaws. There is only 1 human operated cashier now; the rest are job stealing self check out style. Well what happens when the self checkout kiosk calls in sick?

I came and bought a bottle of Coke and got $60 cash back and I tried to purchase a gum and get another $60 cash back the cashier tells me you can only do cash back once per customer per day even though for the past three weeks I’ve been coming in there and purchasing two items and getting two separate cash back. I ask her there’s never been a problem doing it for the past three weeks and every shoppers that I go to never has a problem with two separate Cash backs so why today she tells me it’s shoppers drug Mart policy. I drove 25mins from Brampton I told her and she’s like I don’t care if you drove 25 hours. It’s sad when somebody is miserable they will do anything they can to make other peoples life miserable

This location's pharmacy is terrible at answering the phone! It rings, then goes to waiting music and it's a cycle. Especially if phoning after 7PM to inquire if a medication is ready for pick up.

I can’t put to words how despicable and frustrating I am at this shoppers drug mart location. The shelves are empty, no medicine, no Pediasure, just snacks and drinks. The customer service is an absolute nightmare. To get refill on medicine it’ll take over 1.5hrs to refill. They had full on construction in the store and didn’t even bother to close the store. Construction workers were annoyed by customers walking in and out while they did there work. This is not how a business should be run. Someone ought to find new manager, and clean this place up.

My phone in a prescription to be filled. They told me they'll notify me when it's ready. They didn't. So I called them up I was on the phone on hold for over an hour. There are disgrace your medical field.

This Shoppers Drug Mart has become worse over the years.
I was picking up a prescription, and had to wait five minutes, as the staff was busy. I was the only one picking up a prescription, and there was one person wanting a prescription filed. During the 5 minutes in waiting to be served, the pharmacy store clerk was on the phone looking right at me. She just had the phone receiver to her ear, not acknowledging me, not talking to anyone on the phone for the 5 minutes, Finally I loudly asked for some service. I complained to the pharmacist, as to her being rude, in not acknowledging me, and complained to the store assistant manager.

The people working at this Shoppers Drug Mart don't understand
the meaning of customer service. The customer should not have to wait before being served!

UPDATE TODAY: Today, I went back to SDM at 123 Rexdale Blvd. There were 6 self checkouts. One customer used it, a 20ish young man. The rest of us stood in line for the helpful cashier. This is the 60th anniversary of SDM and it would be good if there were better prices.

BEFORE: Why so many self checkouts and only one line-up in this store for a cashier, a human being? There are those of us who want cashiers to have jobs and not to be replaced by machines. Any time that I go into this store, I usually see most shoppers standing in a long line-up to be served by a human being and no one is using the self checkouts. Shoppers Drug Mart should take notice and correct this mistake of theirs.

Sure, I recognize that a lot of retailers in Toronto are switching over to forcing customers to use self checkouts but that's mainly for increased profitability by those companies. Shoppers Drug Marts' products are so very expensive to begin with and it's only worthwhile shopping there for sale items shown in their ad flyers.

I will only shop in this store if I need to go to the Sub Post Office located at the back of the store because I'm so very annoyed with the checkouts situation. I don't like being bullied by companies into adapting to their rules on how I should spend my money in their stores. So, I will continue to wait in line for a real person to help me check out the few items that I will buy in this store.

Years back, I had switched pharmacies from this one and have no regrets at all.

I am so disappointed with Shoppers Drug Mart, especially at this location in Toronto.

Very slow and terrible service! They asked me to wait for an hour to pickup my medicines. And came back after one hour and half but still asked me to wait for another 5 minutes. Its 10: 30 in the evening. Really?

Usually I have a good experience here.
Not today, the lady at cosmetics walked away while I was approaching her, once I got her attention she dismissed me, and told me to go to the main cashier.
Also the main cashier, didn’t comprehend my needs or wants as a customer.
Today the service was very lousy… I’m not sure if there’s a language barrier or the employees just don’t care either way they need to improve or I will visit another shoppers

Overall, the post office workers are nice and helpful, only issue is the line. I just needed to send one item, and I was waiting in line for more than 30 minutes. Once I am at the front I see only one person working there.

Pathetic staff…. I bought 3 lipsticks out of which 2 were same shades and I came to return the 2 same shade…. The staff scanned the worng product and 3 rd lipstick I tried to return after a week i could not return it which that representative messed when doing the first return and she did not know how to do her job

This location is HORRIBLE. The worst SHOPPERS DRUG MART EVER. THEY JUST LOST ME AS A CUSTOMER.

In the middle of the night I called to the store 12: 00 am 30 of December 2021, to know if they have semilac milk for newborn, as last time I went there they didn’t had it. This time wanted to confirm first before to go there and called one lady pick up the phone and said wait a second left me for 15 mins then I called she hang up phone on me without saying even wait. Again she picked up then put me on hold without even saying hello, again I called and I said why you hang up she said we are busy before to say I’m also costumer I want to know if you have this product she put me in hold. No manner at att I wasn’t calling to chat with her or I wasn’t her friend to talk to her ask her about her job. So rude and unprofessional. I called because I have newborn didn’t wanted to go there and come back empty hands.
She must to learn how to talk or how to do her job. They are 24/7 convenient store.

I AM VERY ANNOYED EVERY TIME I GO THERE THEY NEVER ASK IF I WANT A BAG THEY JUST CHARGE ME FOR IT. AND NOW THEY HAVE A COUPON BUY 2 CARLTON AND GET A FREE LINDT 100 GRAM CHOCOLATE WHICH THEY ONLY TOOK OFF $3.49 INSTEAD OF $4.99

No one answers the phone at the pharmacy. Either the line is busy or it keeps me on hold forever. Eventually I lost my patience and hung up.

Right now not sure what's going on.e Registered twice for vaccine shot and haven't heard a thing. Person's that didn't live in TO received it. There must be a good reason just what is it?
Well just had one of the worst experiences in a long time. Charged for item i didn't get then put on hold for 1 hr. Yes 1 hour (phone records time. I have no problem with a mistake but if this is the customer service waiting for us out there god help us. This store was great.

Went for spouse 2nd COVID shot. Vaccine was very well planned, no line ups, smooth and easy. Add in a well stocked, clean store with adequate parking and pleasant staff

Worst experience ever! Waiting for one hour for the queries and billing, Man is very talkative and spend 30 minutes on a single customer.

Reaching them by phone is an impossible task! Why have a phone number when most times it is unreachable. Hope they look into this matter.

I had to write a review about my visit due to exceptional customer service at this location! I understand Friday is a bit of mess with price changes not showing up in the system and tonnes of price edits to be done but when checking out I noticed the prices were ringing it at regular and not the sale price and so I informed the young lady at the cash register. She swiftly moved me over to her cash register and ran through all the price edits and helped me out with a smile on her face. I really appreciated her customer service even with how packed the front cash area was. Thank you Natasha, I really hope your management see this and rewards you for you phenomenal customer service! One of the best Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacies I've seen. Their care in administering a flu vaccine was outstanding. Worth the drive to Rexdale for the health care.

Monday 21 dec, I went to this place to buy soda, and some lottery tickets (8: 35 pm), an old lady attended me, I don't know her name but she never asks for the optimum card, I asked her to sell me a ticket and do it manually because there were no brochures of This particular draw, she refused, (Other employees have done it without any problem) I have been attending this place for three years because it is very close to my house, but this lady always attends in a bad way. She believes that speed is better than being nice.

Never buy anything from Shopper @ Rexdale&Kippling. 5: 19PM Dec 19, the cashier named Lily was so rude to me. She took a long time to do my transaction, had difficulty using my PC Optimum points. She said “It’s just 10$”, embarrassing me for paying change with card.

Get a flu shot they say. Checked online and they have the vaccine at this location and no, you don't need an appt. Get there shortly after 4 but they're not giving the shots til after 8 p.m. What kind of deal is this. All you hear is how important it is that everyone get the flu shot because of covid and with covid we're suppose to go out as little as possible but we now have to make another trip to the drugstore! Keep your vaccine.

Theres a really rude guy that was taking peoples passport photos in the image section. He kept rolling his eyes and huffing and puffing at me just asking him a simple question. Terrible service

Went in there last night and the cashier was totally disrespectful to another customer, making very racist remarks.

Cashiers are nice and helpful. The reason I give 2 starts is because there is always garbage in front and in the entrance to the store. The floors, black carpets, doors and windows need a good cleaning. They should invest few dollars in contracting a good company to keep the store nice and clean.

Update: If you want to know how this ended, the pharmacist lied about me and Shoppers closed my case and refused to reopen it. So, don't shop here.

Lovely shoppers itself. Overnight pharmacist however refused my UTI prescription from the doctor who faxed it in from the maple app because he "didn't like it. " Wouldn't serve me.

It was shocking and annoying to have an older male pharmacist seem so unaware of the way modern women are handling or how much education we have around UTIs now. He told me to go to the ER to get a urine test. Thanks, I've done that before and waited 6 hours in the waiting room in excrutitang pain only for the doctor to spend 4 seconds going "yep, sounds like a UTI, like you've said". I think hospitals would agree it's a waste of resources and would prefer we didn't unless it seemed unusual.

It's false that it is open 24hr because it was close part of the store on 9th October 2019 at 4: 30am

Walked into the store at 430am wanting to buy a few bottles of coke but was told that 4 aisles were closed because they are being cleaned and wouldn't be accessible for another 2.5 hours. The associate said they were closed since midnight. I guess only half the store is open from 12am to 7am and that's not factoring the cosmetics section that is also closed. This store is a waste of time and clearly management doesn't understand or doesn't value the customer's time at all

Similar to what happened in some of the previous reviews, I wanted to change my friends Presto card to student card since she's enrolling to a new program this year. This brown lady at the cashier asked me whether I was attending high school and college and asked me for my ID to replace the card. That seemed normal at first but when I got two sets of ID which included both my health card and student ID card. I showed her my health card first and she was raising her voice "Your Student card! " I showed her my student card from my college near here and she was being super disrespectful and loud saying that it wasn't valid because it didn't have an expiry date. The thing is that the student cards that we get from our colleges did not have expiry dates. My sister even had to intervene with this woman because she wasn't taking any form of ID that I was showing her. When I got my student Presto card for the first time at another Shoppers Drug Mart, I gave the same student ID and they asked what the expiry date was and I gave them the date. But what happened in that store shouldn't have an employee yell at a customer like that unless the customer is being disrespectful in any shape or form. I also work as a customer service representative and tried to emphasize and be nice with the cashier, but after that incident I felt really stressed about the incident and wouldn't recommend coming back to that Shopper's Drug Mart again. It was definitely the worst experience that I've encountered with customer service. Nobody should ever feel stressed and angry because a cashier was yelling at you in front of other people. It was so embarrassing that she would treat me like that in front of other customers. I really hope something is done about this so that customers don't have face what I've been through with this particular employee.

I just had the worst customer service. I was transferred excessively, hung up on and was treated generally in an appalling manner. When I asked who I make a complaint to, they said customer service. So I asked for CS. The person said THEY ARE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I told them I want to make a complaint, so they hung up! I hope Shoppers enjoys going out of business over the next t 10 years.
Remember folks - you can buy most of the same items on AMAZON for less money and it’s delivered to your door.

Staff there are very rude. Tried to explain to one woman at the register that I wanted to put money on my sister's child presto and she kept repeating that it was free with TTC even after I tried to explain to her that we live in Malton but go to school in Toronto and some MiWay buses stop at the 37A stop which offer a discount on the child presto but still require money. She simply just told me to "go fill the card up at Malton, then. " I obviously would have did that if I had the time to but since I was on lunch break and the Shoppers was right down the street from my school, I wanted to make things easier for myself. I ended up just leaving the shop because I feared I would miss my bus but left very unimpressed.

Big store. A lot to choose from. Sales every week are great and easy to stock up on regularly used items.

Pretty good store and very convenient. It is open all the time, so going there at 2am is possible. The store is very clean and the people that work there are friendly. They also have a self-checkout.

If there is a downside it would be that they often only have one cashier working, so if it is busy and you are paying with cash you might have to wait a few minutes.

This is strictly to pharmacy staff- have no much experience about rest of the department. Pharmacy staff is very helpful and kind- always put customer first. Reasonable waiting time considering how busy they are. Pharmacist advise me to go to emergency right away 4 months back when i was looking for something form my stomach pain - it was almost midnight and i wanted something desperately - i followed her advise and they found big tumor in my intestine. They did surgery in 4 hours and i am so happy that i followed her advise and did not try any OTC.thanks to her - I haven't visited after - but i will to personally thank her.

The usual Shoppers Drug Mart. Has a Canada Post inside which is very convenient. Also has a photo center. They have self checkout as well which is very convenient when you don’t have many items to checkout

Tara was a pleasure to deal with- funny and down to earth. 10/10 the management and ownership at this location is one of the best i have seen so far.

For a store that's open 24 hours this is one of the best Shoppers. Staff is friendly and helpful. But this review goes out to Christine in the Cosmetics Department she is super awesome. I've only dealt with her twice but hooked. She is so helpful and she expresses her honest opinion. The makeup she has recommended to me has always worked. She always has all the products in stock and she makes the effort to check the stock in the back to make sure. She's super friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this Shoppers and Christine too all my friends and family. Thank you Christine!

This is probably the poorest example of a Shoppers Drug Mart store that I've ever had the displeasure of visiting. Dirty, under staffed, shelves not stocked, horrid customer service. There's no way that I would ever attend this shoppers location again in the future.

Good clean store very friendly staff post offfice very well ran the post office manger is the best goes above and beyond to help keep up the good work.

This is review is for the cosmetic section. 2 for 2 in outstanding service. First time I came was for blush and eye brow pencil. I'm darker in complexion and the cosmetic manager took her time to show me the brands and colors that would work for me. I would say atleast 20 min of her time trying to help me. Today.long weekend sunday afternoon a beautiful blonde lady with perfect makeup (cant remember her name) found me the perfect match on foundation. I was switching from makeup forever hoping to find a drug store comparable.again.she spent 20 minutes or more with me.and not only did she find my match but as she described.water resistant.did not move in this heat.sooo impressed with the service I've received at this location. From $40 to $14 on sale foundation.super happy! Keep up the great service ladies!

I love this Shoppers, it's 24/7, at night cashiers are usually doing something else so you have to wait for them to come, sometimes security will call them for you. But have no fear if you have less then 6 items (I believe it's 6 items) and you plan on paying with plastic you can use the self checkout for faster checkout. Don't be intimidated by this futuristic machine, if you come here often use the machine once or twice and you'll easily get the hang of it. Also as a big fan of sugary pop these guys stock Brisk Lemonade 12packs, and Half and Half flavours, and Purple Crush, you can't really find these any where else at a decent price all year around usually they restock on tuesdays, they also go on sale occasionally. They were selling Mountain Dew Red code 12packs and Voltage but I believe they ran out. They also typically have sales on their 6pack bottled pop, last time I went they were on sale for 2 bucks per 6pack bottled pop. My favorite place for late night soda pop shopping.
