I always go out of my way to go to this specific Shoppers bc the customer service at this location is excellent! The staff is always very knowledgeable and always has the products I need. I also get my prescriptions from here and all the pharmacists are so kind and caring. Brandon especially has helped me the most and he always takes the time to explain to me the dosages and frequency of my meds. I always leave this Shoppers happy!

I have to say, after I visited this shoppers for second time (this is not my usual shoppers to go to) I had a great customer service experience by Cosmetic Manager. I had to do last minute shopping for my colleagues and she patiently helped me with all her expertise and that was my reason to go back to her and seek for more help.

Title: Unacceptable Customer Service - Improvement Needed

As a loyal customer of Shoppers Drug Mart (9651 Yonge location) for over 13 years, I am compelled to share my deeply disappointing encounter with an employee at the beauty section.

On December 21st, around 1 pm, my wife visited the beauty section seeking assistance with the price of a perfume. Unfortunately, the employee at the beauty section was more preoccupied with personal matters, using profanity and completely ignoring her inquiry. The lack of professionalism persisted during the payment process, necessitating the manager's intervention.

While I appreciate the manager's prompt assistance, I was utterly disheartened to overhear the employee using profanity in Persian, directed towards customers who might not fully comprehend the language. This behavior is unacceptable, especially considering my wife is Persian and could understand the profanity.

As a longstanding client, I expected a much higher standard of customer service. This experience was not only disrespectful but crossed into the use of profanity, a behavior that is entirely inappropriate. I hope this review serves as a serious concern to the management, emphasizing the urgent need for improvements in customer service.

I anticipate immediate action to address such behavior, and I trust that my continued patronage will be met with the professionalism and respect that has been lacking in this recent experience.

The female supervisor has the worst attitude that I ever met at shoppers. We found the item available online and came all the way to the store. I told you guys should update on your system, without any explanation and apologies, and only says no, we don’t have it, online is not 100% right with her POKER FACE.

Staff at this location don't know the products they have in stock. Asked 3 different associates and all of them said that they don't carry a product I need. Went to shoppersdrugmart website and found that they have 2 in stock.

Do you care or don't you care, I already packed medicine and food and was about to go to the cashier, I only brought cash that day, an old black woman came and I thought she would help me, but she just said to me that no one pays cash, only debit and credit, and I went home without a bag, and I think the old black lady is happy that she can't help the customers.but she will help you to be embarrassed and go home without carrying any shopping.useless and paid attention to nothing and wasted my time there and that's it

Reason: I forgot bringing face mask with me when I was visiting the store. I didn’t feel well these couple of days coughing/sneezing a bit sometimes. When I was checking with a cashier to have a mask, she kindly referred me to the medication counter. No sooner had a tall pharmacist lady been about to give me a mask, than she was stopped by another Asian-looking short female pharmacist wearing glasses, insisting me to buy a package of masks! So upset given I’m a customer for more than 10 years as a frequent shopper (at least once a week)! Just wanted to protect other people especially the staff working there!

For many years I Wes shoppers customer, for a first time somebody with a very bad attitude faced me and I was so nice asking her question to adjust wrong tag price and honor that but she removed the tag from my hand roughly, I never ever go back there, do not recommend this location at all.

No zero provide. I have visited Shoppers (location: 9651 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, ON) for more than 10 years. Today I brought my 80 year old  mom  there to buy some eggs for cooking. We picked up couple boxes of eggs and then the cashier called Vida and told us this product is limited 2 boxes per person. And then rightaway without my permission she took away the extra boxes of eggs and left us with 4 boxes. I doubled check the price tag, and it does not show this particular product has limit of 2 per person. I asked why it was limited and Vida said its on the flyer. I ask Vida to show me the flyer. Vida showed me the flyer of a different product which is limited 2 per person.   I told her at the scene these are two different products.   Vida said that's our shopper's policy and told us to check the website. Vida made a mistake and refused to give us the product we wanted to purchase and refused to apologize to us. Vida was very disrespectful towards elder customers.

5 years ago I had given this shoppers 5 stars because it was the top shoppers…. I literally used to drive the distance to go to this pharmacy but now It has declined to a low level, hard to believe this is the same place. What a shame.

Avoid that pharmacy by all means, especially if you are thinking where to put your prescription to get pills. They may loose or mix prescriptions (yes, they do - they can loose your current prescription and give you a medication you stopped taking months ago. They are very often behind the schedule promising to make it tomorrow instead of today ("we are busy") and then reschedule it for a day after tomorrow ("we are busy") and it may take as long as 4 work days (like what's happened to me recently). Absolutely unreliable people. The only thing holds me up from leaving that place they are closest pharmacy to my home.

Rude service in the time of need. Bad shoppers. My husband was in the Major Mackenzie health center. And he was in need of the medicine. As per the shoppers (particularly this location) showed it remains open till 12: 00 AM midnight. I reached there at 11: 40 and the pharmacist wasted time arguing that he cannot give me medicines.at this time. I think they should update their timings on the website till when they can give us medicine. He asked me to drive 17 mins to other 24hrs open location. I drove there and I got my medicine at 1: 30 AM. Pretty insane.

The pharmacist was very unprofessional. She decided to tag on an extra $15 fee on top of the price gouging total of my medications. Avoid this place at all costs.

The pharmacy is very disoriented and the pharmacists do not give you the care that you need but there is this Pharmacist Assistance named Zahra who was so gentle and nice to me that made my experience less miserable. 5/5 to her and 2/5 to the store

I hate leaving negative reviews, and had this been a one-time issue, I would certainly not mind. However, quite a few times, I have found my and my family’s experience with this pharmacy alone to be extremely stressful especially due to its poor and unreliable management and the obvious disorganization among the employees. Stay away - as we certainly will - if you value punctuality and integrity in the people with whom you deal.

I can’t even express how terrible the pharmacy is. I just had a surgery for my wisdom teeth and needed to have the medication ASAP. I had to wait 40 minutes to get my medication only to see they didn’t have one of the antibiotics!
I mean couldn’t you just tell me sooner? ! And they are not considerate of anything at all. I was literally in pain and they stood me up for nothing. Terrible. More than 5 pharmacists there and none of them could do anything. They were all just moving around doing absolutely nothing. Disappointed.

I come into this location often and ONLY because of the customer service I receive from Vany, the manager at the beauty section. She is excellent at her job and personality is unlike any other. Will be a returning customer as long as she is there!

The pharmacy sucks! No customer service skills. They did not acknowledge my presence for 5 minutes then I had to wait 20 minutes just for them to get me into the system. No hello, nothing. They do not know how to treat customers. I need to come here so I can get a prescription filled. Not to be left hanging for several minutes. Please teach all of your employees customer service etiquette or maybe they need to be paid more to be happy at their workplace. THANKS!

We bought a RCA 58' TV from this Shoppers at 9651 Yonge Street on Saturday Oct 9 evening during their bonus redemption event. We redeemed all our points and paid the difference to buy this TV; although we knew at the time that electronics are not refundable at Shoppers. We didn't expect the TV is defective!  When we went home, unboxed and trying to set up, it did not work! We couldn't even bypass the set up screen with language selection. We can see the light on the remote and the TV could be turned on, however the signals are not received by the TV, we tried the whole evening and couldn't get it working. We called the store right away within 3 hours after we bought the TV to let them know that it's defective. The store said to speak with the Cash Manager on Tuesday as she's off for the long weekend. This morning, we made another trip to the store and spoke with the Cash Manager as we were told, but she refused to take the defective unit back. We were extremely disappointed as the unit is defective; she told us to take it up with the Warranty ourselves. The point is, THEY SOLD US A DEFECTIVE TV! It's not that we changed our mind and wanted a refund, we asked for an exchange, she refused as well stating she can't do anything and it's absolutely no refund on electronics no matter what. This is extremely poor business practice, I tried to suggest that since it's defective, they could just return to the supplier/manufacturer and refund us the money. But She simply wouldn't want to discuss and refused to handle the situation and refund us despite we travelled back to the store with proof of purchase and everything.  This is NOT a matter of Warranty, the unit is defective to being with! And we want our money back NOT because we changed our mind, but simply because they sold a defective unit and would take it back to their supplier, rather, they expected us to keep the unit with no functionality and deal with Warranty to resolve it ourselves and god knows how long it would take, it simply is NOT FAIR! Any store that sells defective items would take the items back and refund customers when it's defective!  Will never buy electronics from Shoppers Drug mart anymore. We are going to escalate further to Loblaws, BBB and consumer protection as well as social media further. Buyer beware!

UPDATE my original 5 star review was 4 years ago since then the store and area in general has gone downhill unfortunately so I’ve edited my review down to 1 star. The Cosmetic girl is nice and I hope she is planning her exit to better opportunities soon. The one older lady often working front cash is rude, never says hello but often found talking to older merchandiser in Farsi ignoring what’s happening with customers around her that could use help. I will start to look for other stores to get the sales outside the area.

I use this location as my main Shoppers drug mart even though there are 5 shoppers around the same location. I fill all prescriptions at this location for my family. I find that the staff is friendly, attentive and helpful if I need anything. The pharmacy staff is terrific. Recently i had an infection and went to the pharmacy early morning to fill the prescription. Only the pharmacist was on staff and he filled my prescription in about 15 minutes while answering the phone, answering customers questions and filling other prescriptions. I really appreciated that he filled my prescription since i was in such pain and couldn’t wait to start the antibiotics.

The only reason this place deserves the one star is because it's open til midnight. Otherwise DO NOT COME HERE. The people are rude, stock people put FULL price items on CLEAR OUT section WITHOUT LABEL. The cashiers only response is, "Well we need to make the shelves look full, so if you don't see the sticker means it's not for sale. " Well how is one suppose to know if it is NOT CLEARANCE when There ISN'T A PRICE TAG. Please explain that? Are the customers suppose to guess the price? What if the customers are on a very tight budget and didn't see when checking out that the item that was found on clearance, happens to be full price? VERY unappropriated in many ways.

Went to redeem a full price coupon & cashier had to check with management. So I waited patiently. Manager came out & read the due date had not expired but then went on to tell me that by the time she submitted the coupon for refund the date would have passed. I told her "to be honest, this isn't my issue" for her to reply, "you do realize we have the right to refuse coupons? " If she felt that embarrassing me was the best way to treat a customer who had a valid coupon, that's her prerogative. I don't need to give her my business.
I also have no issue to go to another store, within the Loblaw Companies & show how incompetent her location is & give her a 1-star rating (only so I can post, otherwise it would be a zero star rating!)
Recommendation: management training on appropriate customer service & keep internal issues internal.

Today about 20-25 minutes ago I was shopping at your store. The parking lot had not been ploughed yet. I drove in easily but got stuck a number of times trying to leave. One of your employees, a young man, had earlier helped me out by finding a four litre jug of distilled water in your stock room.
He must have noticed I was stuck, because after a few minutes he came out of your store and offered to help me out by pushing my car. He did, and I was able to get rolling, but almost got stuck again trying to turn right onto Yonge St. He followed me all the way out to make sure I didn't get stuck again.
Customer service? You bet!
I wanted to make sure that management is aware of his kindness. I am 75 years old and shop regularly at your store. Thanks ever so much to that young man. I really appreciate his help

I quit going to the pharmacy here a year ago, after repeated issues including: upselling my husband on my iron medication (it’s already overpriced here but they were “out of stock” two months in a row and convinced him that the pregnancy version (I’m not pregnant) was equivalent. It is, sort of, but at least double the price. Multiple issues with calling doctors for refill permissions and when called on it said that they had newer staff (so that’s called “poor training”). After almost a decade of filling prescriptions here for my family of 5, I’ve switched to Atlas on 16th Avenue and they are both far cheaper and amazing with quick service and helpful staff at all times. Your loss, SDM.

The cashiers are very friendly and the merchandisers very helpful. The pharmacist is young and professional. The store is small, but has good variety for the size of store. The one thing they need is self checkouts at this location due to the amount of seniors counting change and lottery players in the area. It’s corporate rule that cashier is to call for backup if more than 5 people in line so if you see more than 5 people in line maybe kindly ask the cashier to call for backup as sometimes they don’t notice the lineup. The one thing I notice at this location is you enter on left side of store which is rare for an sdm layout and the cosmetics ladies never say hello like all the other stores. TIP: if the front cash is busy in all lanes try checking out at pharmacy or cosmetic desk. You can checkout any product at pharmacy or cosmetic counter they just don’t advertise that fact.

Horrible and unprofessional new management! Was in here the other day buying snacks and the manager (I believe her name is Claudette or Claudia) was yelling at the employees verbally from across the store. Most unprofessional store i have been in! NO ONE should be yelling across the store to get an employees attention and should have at least a speaker or buzzer and professionally call for assistance. Felt super uncomfortable there as a customer witnessing that and would definetly turn me off for asking for employees help in case they get yelled at. I can’t believe I’m writing this review!

Staff members are able to put random limitations on products to their liking depending on the customers. For example, the cashier declared a limitation on a non discount product even though there are no such signs or regulation in their store regarding the product. Had to go to another shoppers to do my shopping. (End up shop the same product in another shopper without any problem at all. See as attached)

This is the Shoppers Drug Mart location where I get my prescriptions from. It's close to my Doctors and they have a prescription program for people with disabilities. I don't have to pay anything for filling my prescriptions. I just arrive and pick up my prescription (s) and then I'm on my way out the door. The people who work at the pharmacy counter are great. Always a smile and genuinely interested in how your doing at the time. So from every aspect this Shoppers to at Bayview and major Mackenzie store is great. Have a great day.

Adele the store supervisor is not accountable and not compassionate. Bought a $100 gift card from this location and ends up with $0 value. No one at the store inclduing the manager is willing to help. You are supposed to call a 1-800 number, time wasted on the phone, they open a case and days later still ask you all sort of personal information to share with their 3rd party as well, all this time Shoppers has no problem taking your money.but you have to work to get your value back. Terrible service and worst customer service from this location and Shoppers gift card program.

Its the most awful store that i visited.some of the staff and specialy the manager dont know anything about customer service.i was the customer of this branch for more than 4 years just because of some welcoming staff on the cosmetic section (persian lady) but last time i was there to use the promotion and i try to buy 12 pack of drink the cachier and manager toled me there is a limit of 6 pack.i checked with the shoppers drugmart and its only at this branch and made by manager.i asked dem if there is limit you have to put sign for it.the manager wants to kill me by her eyes.finally i bought the from another shop and never come back.
