Shortstack Records has definitely become not only one of the few, go-to places to acquire used vinyl in the city, but also to sell. Cal, the owner, was incredibly friendly and highly responsive. In a city with no shortage of record shops, Shortstack is easily among Toronto’s very best. They are always well stocked with high quality and hard to find titles. Cal and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. A must visit for all vinyl junkies!

I had the exact same problem a couple of months ago with this store. I wanted to sell my records and they refused to quote me any price at all. Imagine a store that says they want to buy something, but wont give you a price. That can only mean that they must think the consumer is stupid enough to not shop around. Why would they be afraid of anyone shopping around? If they were a decent record store that claims to buy records, they would not be afraid to quote.just like every other record store that buys records. Avoid this store if you want to sell your records. They wont quote.

Great selection. I’ve scored lots of hard-to-find albums over the years with reasonable and affordable prices. Fair prices paid out on records bought too. One of the best shops in Toronto.
