Sid Turcotte Park Campground And Cabin Resort

My wife Terry Bois and I stayed at this campsite for one night. Wish it was longer. What a beautiful place on the Mattawa river. Our site was amazing The place is spacious and well maintained. Great service. Thank you

Having recently stayed three nights in our travel trailer, this review is to let anybody who's interested to know that its a very nice park, easy to book, easy to navigate and the services meet all expectations.
The town is only a short walk away for provisions.

I used to stay here regularly as a kid. They had a huge barrel out on the water we would play on. There was a tall metal slide, the type that would give you butterflies going down.

Unfortunately the maintenance and up keep of the facilities have been lacking since new management took over. There is only one shower available for the entire campground for the past few years.

Perhaps if owners used their moneys to fix things that are broken rather than try to compete with other local businesses we would stay here.

I know the owner is going to comment on this with an excuse for the bathroom. She cannot take constructive criticism as seen below in any review that is not 5 stars. Nor does she have the best customer service skills.

Please know that this campground is beautiful. The location, the beach, the town. No complaints there!

Rented a trailer. It had a weird smell, but I'm not expecting perfection when renting a trailer. Younger kids loved it. There was a car show, bicycle rally, pony rides and more. They have a ton of different ice cream flavours, my personal favourite is the chocolate salted caramel in a waffle cone. Already book next year.

Deux structures de jeux, des bancs partout pour regarder la rivière, terrain de tennis, deux plages, une planche pour sauter dans l’eau, descente de bateau, location de canots et kayaks, une crémière avec plus de 40 saveurs et une salle de lavage.

Sérieux, c’était encore plus cool qu’on pensait. On a tellement eu du fun.

Le chalet était parfait pour nous et avait réellement tout ce dont nous avions besoin.

En après-midi, tous les enfants jouent ensemble à la plage. C’est ce qui est magique.

Les propriétaires sont tellement gentils

On vous le recommande à 100%.

A staple in Mattawa. They care about their campers, the grounds, their town and the river they are on. Book a cabin or trailer spot when you can.

Well went back for those 5 days and also booked a RV site next to us for grandkids and brotherinlaw we had a ball kids would go to 1 beach and drift down to the other beach kids had icecream 3 nights everything was GREAT going back for 14 more great days in July love the service owners are great see you all in 10 months

Came here 10 years ago, had a blast. Came back in Sept 2022. What a huge difference in developement. Going to make it an annual trip.

Showed up in my gray coach/bus with atv's in tow. I don't give 5 stars as a rule as I reserve them for the best of the best. The staff went above and beyond any other campground. They had concerns for the site I had reserved. We really enjoyed the facility, the staff and owners. We are going back for 2023. ️

A truly unique campground in the heart of Mattawa. We are very lucky to have such a nice campground. Owners are always making improvements which shows every year.

Stayed a couple nights in February for a ski trip to Antoine Mountain. The River’s Rest cabin was clean and very warm with the gas fireplace running in -25C night temps. 10 minutes to the ski hill and all the amenities you need within 5 min drive.

Spent 4 days over Thanksgiving weekend at Sid Turcotte and it was absolutely beautiful!
The sites were spacious.we stayed on W79 and it had a beautiful view of the water.
The grounds were clean and beautiful. Right in the little town of Mattawa a little town that was fun to explore.
Would definitely recommend visiting this park.

A small, quant campground that is surprisingly quiet being so close to hwy 17. The sites are close to neighbours but no more than other private parks. The swimming is great, a gentle current allows tubes to float from one beach to another. There are no hiking or bike trails. Kayaking is great. HOWEVER THERE ARE NO COVID PROTOCOLS FOLLOWED! They have a sign on the door and one family enters at a time but that is it! The owners and staff do not wear masks, no sanitizers to be seen, no cleansers of counters or pens, etc. Even staff serving ice cream do not wear masks. I asked about the lack of covid requirements and they said they were EXCEMPT because only one family enters the store / registeration office at a time. I didn't feel safe at all and will only return when covid is behind us. I have never heard of a business being excempt from following Covid requirements.hmmm?

Very clean and nice and quiet. Came here in June, looking forward to coming here in early may. Would recamend this place to anyone.

Friendly Staff, great accommodations with clean site. Was in a great site right on the river. Plenty of things to do. Many amenities.
Would return and recommend anytime.

We love coming here. There's great staff. A lazy river. Playground, ice cream shop. It really is a lot of fun here.

Great place for a family vacation, was here with my parents, fishing is great icecream is awesome. Can't wait to come back next your.tenth year in a row

Lovely park on the Mattawa River. Swimming, kayaking, fishing, beach. Friendly people. Playground.

Our week was Great. There were 21 of us from 2-63 and we all had fun. Park is clean, people are friendly and don't forget the ice

Beautiful park and the beaches (there are 2) are clean and lovely sand. Staff are very friendly too. My friends and i have been going yearly to this park for almost 20yrs. Camp sites are large with beautiful trees.

Only reason not a five is damage due to flooding, their office and services building are out of order, with temporary laundry and shower facilities. Beautiful and resonable rates. Good Sam.

Outstanding RV and Tenting Campground

We camped in our travel trailer for 2 weeks in August 2018. It was an excellent base camp for exploring the region’s kayaking, fishing, hiking and ATV opportunities. The park is outstanding. There is a lot of green space and open waterfront for strolling along. There are 2 sand beaches for swimming.

The owners are friendly, courteous, caring and efficient. The park is tranquil and so clean. The showers have plenty of hot water. You can even buy ice cream at the office. This campground is uniquely situated in the small town of Mattawa with good restaurants, chip wagons, grocery stores, hardware stores, a hospital and even a museum. Needless to say, we have reserved a spot for 2019.

We look forward to our yearly trip. Beautiful view right on the Mattawa river. Nice park and the owners are always doing upgrades on the park. My kids have so much fun when we are there. Should be on everyone list of places to camp!

The best place i have ever car camped.new owners are putting in so much to improve an already beautiful park right on the river.
