Signature Indian Cuisine

I have been going to this restaurant for several years. The quality of food is unmatched. The eating experience is complimented by friendly, educational and passionate staff. Anybody I bring to this restaurant is blown away that food of this caliber is hiding in the middle of Whitby. They are usually equally shocked when the bill for two looks like most restaurants' bill for one. I love this restaurant. The chef and staff put their hearts and souls into their product.

Absolutely delicious food and amazing Service. We had Malai Kofta, Naan and Roti.

Owner is such a lovely lady. It was great meeting and talking with her.

This is my go to spot for Indian food. All the dishes I've tried here so far have been great and the quantity is good too. I highly recommend this place.

This has been my #1 spot for having great Indian cuisine for years and years and literally every single meal I’ve had from here has always been top notch and super delicious (their naan bread is super fresh and out of this world good). The food from Deepak’s menu is so good I’ve gotten several members of my family to become regulars here as well! Keep up the great work Deepak and the team!

This place never ceases to amaze me. The flavours are incredible and authentic. The staff are absolutely amazing as well. Tonight, we ordered the Chana Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala and Beef Vindaloo. Everything was amazing. We also got rice and naan bread to accompany. Their prices are amazing compared to other places I have been. I travel from Bowmanville to Whitby every time to get Indian food because I haven’t found anywhere that compares. I wish they would open a location in Bowmanville. They would do amazing here.

Their samosa chaat and biryani is a must try.

Just ordered the delivery from this restaurant and received totally staled food, my kids already had half of it before I realized the roties were stale and sour. Yes they had used the old kept dough which was stale and bad. This could cause several health issues. This just hurts me because I’ve been a long time customer I never had an issue before.

Today I just ordered Palak paneer curry, it was totally taste less, make me disappointed, I didn’t enjoyed food, te way I was expercting. Even though politely discussed over called but they didn’t gave me any compensation or nothing. So poor service!

Excellent quality, and huge portions. Food was piping hot and so fresh. I just ate and I’m still thinking about it! 10/10 all around.

So I myself am a cook of 26 years now. Recently April 2nd ordered the most amazing butter chicken fresh nana and rice. Through uber eats. The food was phenomenal tbh I'm writing this review while eating this meal thats how inpressed i am with the food. It was a nice large portion for what I paid. I see why your so popular and been around at least 15 years or more. I used to deliver for a service that delivered for you just finally tried your food. Thank you.

Excellent taste, right consistency, I ordered different tandoori breads and Chicken tikka and paneer makhni. All tasted excellent.

I ordered Daal Makhni with Onion Kulcha, delivered home. Daal Makhni was really spellbinding, I must admit made me remember food from Delhi.

I have been ordering Butter Paneer Masala for past 4 years from Signature and consistently it has been super good but yesterday the gravy was very sour in Butter Paneer Masala and also Paneer Masala that we ordered. Hope they cone back to original taste as it had been.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Super professional, kind and very accurate pick-up time. Would recommend and will be getting again for sure!

I order on take-out apps so I have never been to the actual restaurant. I usually order Aloo gobi and Aloo baingan. Both are vegan options. I have tried other things there as well, but those two are my favourite! I love that they state directly what items are vegan! It is hard to find a menu that will state if something is absolutely vegan so that was very much appreciated! I don't find them too oily as I do with most other Indian restaurants. They are very tasty. I did get a mixed up order of mushroom rice by mistake once and I ate that and it was very delicious as well. It would be lovely if they had a cauliflower rice option as many diets are refraining from starch lately.

Being a person who was bought up eating indian food. I can say that this food was one of the worst I had in entire whitby area.

I ordered paneer makhani and naan.
Lets talk about paneer makhani first- The gravy of paneer was just made at industrial scale. What I mean by that is - it clearly reflected the fact that same gravy was used for chicken gravy dish, other veg gravy etc.and gravy was too tangy and I even had an upset stomach after eating that. Paneer makhani traditionally has a gravy on a creamy side (Made with fresh onion/Tomato) and this gravy was too liquid and consistency was way off. Paneer (cheese) pieces were too few and not at all soft as they should be.rather fried/refried paneer pieces used again, suggesting me that same paneer used for fried paneer dishes and is sprinkled in paneer makhani dish. And paneer also tasted stale.

Now lets talk about naan- 1st thing that any person with south asian origin would tell you- Naan is supposed to be made in tandoor (Clay oven) and is made from scratch with dough. This naan bread was like the one that you would buy in hurry from supermarket and throw in on a pan or in microwave and hope they come out ok. Sorry I could have got a packet from supermarket myself if I wanted such quality naan bread.

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone…not even to people I hate.

There are other restaurants in Whitby area with better Indian food. Pl do your research before coming here.

Ordered chicken curry and biryani. The chicken had gone bad.it was horrible. If I could give a zero star I would. Will never order from here again.

Ordered the butter chicken, Dal tadka, and palak paneer, and garlic naan last night. Food was amazing, very tasty and the portions were large! Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in the Durham region.

Best Indian food in Durham! Tried all new places but Signatures has great tasting curries and fresh bread. Enjoyed the food thanks again I ordered online and picked up courteous service and applause for the setup during this time. Highly recommended we will see you soon.

The flavours and food are great.however the cost for the portion size is ridiculous.

I ordered takeout, and for $30.00 I received very little food. I was highly unimpressed by the portion sizes.

The taste was great, but not worth the cost. There are other equally good Indian restaurants in the area which provide much better portions, for a lesser cost.

First I'll say we lived in England for a couple years so my wife and I know a good curry. This place is the best we've had since we returned. The food is excellent. The woman who runs the place can be quite business-like so some sensitive customers may be put off (doesn't bother me) and I think they also struggle to manage things in the dining room at busy times, but the food really is good. This is our default curry place in the Durham region. My biggest complaint is that we often want to order on Sundays when they are closed! But you can't blame them for wanting a day off.

Excellent. The appetizers were awesome. The 2 mains we got were spicy as all get out. I didn't mind, but too much for my wife.

Great little place in Whitby that has three best samosas I've ever tried! The lamb saag and rice were delicious and the staff were friendly. I would definitely visit this place for dinner again!

Whenever I am in Whitby I make an effort to go to Signature for dinner. It is my go to Indian restaurant now for over 10 years. Excellent food and service every time. Many meat and vegetable options available.

My favourite Indian food restaurant in Durham Region. I find their dishes have the most complex and delicious flavours. I have dined at this restaurant many times and am never disappointed with the quality and flavours of the food. The service can sometimes be slower at peak hours (i.e. Saturday night from 6-8pm), but I just plan usually to go before the dinner rush around 5pm and it's fine. The owner Maria is a lovely and friendly person. I am pretty picky with the quality of food and I can say wholeheartedly that I highly recommend this restaurant.

Ate here recently for the first time. When we first got to the restaurant we were seated by the hostess and waited at our table for 15 mins before a server came over with menus. The server said “oh you could have just waved me down instead of waiting here without menus”. I thought that was a peculiar way of apologizing for keeping us waiting so long. The amazing food made up for the poor service! I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for that.

I absolutely love this place! The service is always so great. They'll be busy with takeout orders, yet always find time to come swing by for more water, napkins, status on the kitchen. The lady working knows the regulars, and it feels like home. The food is AMAZING! Delicious Butter Chicken, Samosa Chat, Garlic Naan, Tikka, the pakora. I could go on!

Excellent food I must say with good portion and quality. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Whitby last night and to Signature Indian Cuisine. Must try this spot if you are in that area we had Goat Roganjosh- Chicken Madras- Palak Paneer- Paner Pakora- Pilao Rice and Garlic Nan. Meat was very tender and tasted fresh and spinach dish was very flavourful with soft cheese. Great place if you wanna experience good flavour Indian taste and very courteous service.

No where near authentic Indian taste, dine-in, take-out or delivery (usually over an hour). Service mediocre. The South asian guy shipping out orders mistreated all the drives the whole time we were there. Very unprofessional and I'm not judging based on one visit.

Avoid this restaurant at all cost. The lady at the front is extremely racist and rude. Poor customer service. No wonder the restaurant is always empty.

Small restaurant in a nondescript plaza which was a little difficult to figure out where to enter to park. The restaurant was under renovation, but it was clean, and well decorated and in good shape already. Our server was very nice and suggested a number of dishes, which turned out to be great choices. The food was delicious and we all had more than enough food. Good variety of veg and meat options available. Prices seem a little high for the location, but you do get a lot, and the quality is pretty great, so no real complaint.
