Great food, every dish we ordered was tasty. From the fried dumpling which had a great casing that had a great crunch. Kimchi fried rice, kalbi (a bit thick but tasty), bean paste soup, cold noodle and Bibimpap. Comfy booths and service was attentive and prompt with a smile. Will definitely come here again!
Delicious Korean food spot! A bit on the pricier side but I think it’s worth it. Very homey and comfy - the atmosphere of the restaurant is great. We had one of those more private booths which was lovely. I think this would be a great place to come with a group - 4+ just cause of the nature of the place (as opposed to going by yourself and ordering one dish).
We ordered the cheese dakgalbi, bulgolgi with rice, kimchi fried rice, takoyaki omurice, and kimchi soft tofu stew. All very delicious! Service was also very good. We didn’t have to wait long since we came during a time when it was less busy but you may have to wait for a bit during peak times. They also did not do reservations after 6pm.
Stir-fried Omurice and Squid were very delicious! It was a little disappointing that the side dish was radish pickled cabbage and kimchi. But the main dish was very good.
Super basic korean restaurant. You only get a few slices of meat on your dish for an overpriced meal. Anyone can cook the same dish at home just by following recipes on youtube. It doesn’t give an authentic korean restaurant experience at all.
Authentic and delicious Korean food! The food is well seasoned and the portion is big so it's a good value for the money. The female owner is very friendly. I like the seating setting which is private and similar to Korea's real restaurant. Highly recommended!
We ordered the hotpot and it was $45! But there was just a few pieces of sliced wieners, 4 pieces of lunchmeat, a bit sticky rice cake and instant noodles, nothing else.the food was definitely not worth the price.and for the small side dishes, they only offered kimchi and some cabbage.very bad experience and will never go back again.
The food is so so good! And the staff is amazing, they often checked on us if everything was okay. The restaurant is clean and I like the private booths that they have. I always have a great experience coming here
Talk about shrinkflation. My bill was $74 before tax for maybe $15 worth of food. I ordered beef bulgogi, not sure where the beef was cause it was almost all onion. I can't believe I paid $36 for the galbi samgyupsal for literally 6 small slivers of meat. $18.50 for japchae which was tasty but all these take out containers are smaller than a typical container. Absolutely ridiculous. Go to an all you can eat place and at least get your full.
I have been a regular here since 2019. I love the little booths here- very private and closed off. It was great during the pandemic. My favourite is the Japtang Teok Bokki and KFC. Price has gone up, but it tastes good nonetheless.
Always love going to this restaurant! It’s my go-to restaurant when I’m craving korean food. Service is quick, the staff is welcoming, and most importantly, the food is super tasty. Highly recommend the joseph chicken, street style tteotboki, and kimchi fried rice!
Authentic home style Korean food. Their fried chicken was lightly deep fried (not double fried), their sauce was full of taste (I ordered Uncle Joseph fried chicken), and the meat was tender. Their soon tofu was also very well done. Tofu was soft, delicious, and lots of it. After the meal, I did not feel thirsty for water, so that's another plus.
My last review of Sikgaek was over four years ago, so it was about time for an update. I am still obsessed with the Dakgalbi - it's the perfect meal for 2. On my last visit, I ordered the Ttokbokki, street food style. It was so delicious! Sikgaek is easily my favorite Korean restaurant in Mississauga.
The place is so clean, very good customer service and food are great. We love the pork bone soup here. We tried other korean restaurant but we always come back here to eat. Highly recommended
I used to absolutely love this restaurant. Authentic Korean food made by a Korean chef, absolutely delicious kimchi, and good customer service. During this covid time, felt safe and clean ordering from from here. HOWEVER, yesterday I went there for the first time in almost a year a things have UNFORTUNATELY changed. First of, I went in at 2pm with no customers in. I asked to be seated in a booth however the server there told me i cannot be seated there because im only one person. Since WHEN did they have this rule? ! I’ve be coming here for years, almost a decade now and have always sat at the booth, even when it was getting busy. I was a bit surprised but okay, so she moved me to a table outside the booth and I looked at the menu. Let me tell you when I say things have doubled in pricing, it really has doubled. For example the bibimbap used to be around $9, now it’s around $18. I expected pricing to go up but not double. Especially for something as basic as that. On top of that the portion size was super small for the sides. Kimchi was barely there and the other side dish where equally as small. Mind you, there used to be 3 generous side dishes not 2.
Regardless of the quantity, the food still tastes amazing however, this is now an expensive restaurant to eat at. Don’t expect to come here and pay less than $30.
I can’t say inflation hasn’t done a number on us all but doubling prices? Sorry to say but I’ll no longer be coming here as a loyal customer. I’m sure there are other amazing Authentic and reasonably priced Korean restaurants out there.
