Silver Cross Stair Lifts & Mobility Equipment

I worked with Janice at this site and what a lady to work with! She's was prompt, efficient, committed and professional. This is my first time purchasing a mobile scooter and Janice made it so easy. Her knowledge is second to none, and she walked me through the whole process with ease. Thank you Janice and Silver Cross!

Janice at the Oakville location was incredibly helpful with the purchase of my walker. She answered all of our questions and made it a very pleasant experience.

We have stairlifts for both upstairs and the basement. Recently we had to have the basement stairlift removed in order to replace laundry equipment. Both the Oakville Client Care Coordinator and the technician were helpful and fast in arranging the deinstallation, performing the deinstallation, arranging the reinstallation and performing the reinstallation. (No names, because you shouldn't name specific people in reviews, but you know who you are!). I heartily recommend Silver Cross and their Oakville team.

When my father-in-law needed a walker, the folks at Silver Cross were very helpful. Janice explained all the different models patiently and demonstrated the various accessories. When we were going to buy the Stella (walker-wheelchair combo), and my father-in-law got emotional and decided not to go through with the purchase, Janice was understanding. A few months later, my father-in-law was ready for this life change and we went back to Silver Cross. Janice remembered us, outfitted the right one for us to try again and kindly helped us finalize the purchase.

I have recently dealt with Ms. Janice Swiadek at the Oakville store. Her customer service really demands a lot of improvement. She makes it sound like we are begging for Silver Cross’s services, as if Silver Cross is running a charity while collecting money from its customers at the same time. I’m not sure if Silver Cross opens its door to serve or to be served. Elderly needing mobility aid is already in a disadvantage position. Treating them as if they have to get their service no matter how bad it is—because the stairlift was purchased from them and the parts are still under warranty—is a disgrace. After all, Silver Cross is a business, but for god’s sake, please don’t make it sound like it is giving the elderly mercy at its pleasure. Their service is not free, and please don’t make it sound like it is. I have to admit that I have fallen to its 5-star reviews when we purchased a stairlift from them 2 years ago. Honestly, I don’t know how they deserve 5-star rating, or even 2-star for that matter The issue is not about their tech not showing up because of sickness. The issue is the lack of proper communication. It’s like when their tech doesn’t show up, will just leave you a voicemail. Whether you get the message or not is none of their business. Whether you are waiting the no-show for hours, they don’t care. They keep saying that all they have is a phone number on file. This can’t be further from the truth. The booking was confirmed by email in addition to phone calls with a different phone number. Other contact info was provided to ensure proper communication. However, as Silver Cross doesn’t care it’s customers, certainly, they won’t bother to keep its customers contacts. If you are looking for a stairlift, buyer beware!

Had a great experience with this place. Was a little overwhelmed with how to go about it/knowing the right hospital bed but Janice helped me out! Made it so I understood my options and was very patient and understanding— really good customer service from her. Highly recommend.

I have had an excellent experience with the Oakville store. Recently, my husband’s walker needed repairs (he has put many miles on it). Janice was very helpful arranging a home visit, making sure it took place on the day promised, and enquiring afterwards if we were happy with the work done. She has been cheerful and efficient, and returned my calls promptly. I highly recommend the store, and I would like to thank Janice for making my life easier.
