Quality matters, not quantity. The chicken biryani I ordered was just awful. No flavour nothing. Chicken pieces tasted as if it was just boiled in turmeric water. Just because the rice was filled over the brim doesn’t mean people will like it. I am someone who doesn’t waste food but I had to throw this.
We went to get fist fry and chicken lolypops. They taste as it should be. The food is cheaper as compared to to others but as it takeaway hence. We tried other like biriyani but we do not like the taste.
Got takeout from here, and it was not bad. I'm not gonna lie, The Mutton Biryani was slacking on mutton and the rice itself was dry. The Chicken Lollipop and The Tandoori Chicken were really good and pretty juicy. The Lahori Fish was a bit salty for my liking but its good. The Chicken Biryani is really good with a really good amount of chicken and the rice has some moisture. The Portion sizes are really good for the price you pay. If your in the area I'd say give it a try!
Thursday 4: 30 pm had a very bad experience with the short hair unprofessional, rude counter boy, food was not tht good and iasking for refund they refuse it and start arguing and fighting, no manager shows up after asking really bad service and staff dont recommend it and request people to always ask for receipt
Their curries are very very (in fact way too oily) - why is it that at all this type of restaurant the curries are so oily. When I buy curries I would like to receive curries not bowls of greasy oil.
A great Pakistani/Indian halal restaurant. They only do takeout and catering as far as I know. Very busy so it's better to order ahead. Prices are okay, can be reduced a little, I hope.
First time there n won't be the last time. I had two trays, one vegetarian n one with veal biryani to celebrate Christmas with my family. Pretty good n big potion too.
Weekend special Veal Pullao, Aloo Qeema, Haleem and Shami Kabab - are my all time favorites. Sweets and BBQ items are average. Last weekend, took Uber delivery of my fav.items. But too much salt just killed my appetite. Taking off 2 star for the inconsistency in salt proportion.
I used to go regularly before even had catering done few times. Always had fairly decent experience. Now very recently not sure if cook changed or mgmt changed, food is not tasty anymore. One of my favorite used to be bihari chicken. Few years back people at the counter knew why I was there. Now for the past few times and now today, it seems bihari chicken is completely tasteless. Not sure how long this can go on.
In past, I gave them high ratings but changing my ratings now.
We normally visit this location and prefer it over the others but we had a very bad experience last few times. The server man purposely gave us only gravy in out curries and a couple of pieces of meat that too jusy bones. We had ordered large curries and with both curries it was the same deal. The quality of food has also reduced significantly. Not only that we had requested a lamb biryani, the server said they were out when the customer after asked he was able to purchase one even though they were "out". When asked he claimed it was a pre order. Which is untrue since he had just come in and asked what they have available. Will make sure to let all of our friends and family who are regulars at this location know of these ordeal and dine elsewhere. Most likely won't be visiting here again. Horrible experience and severe decline in quality of food! Very disappointed!
I went late night near about closing i didnt had cash and debit card, I only had a credit cards but the staff and manger give the food and drink and said i can e transfer so much trusting guys Thanks. You cant see these type of guys now a days. Thanks to silver spoon to provide food for us
I was a regular customer here and fish fingers was my favourite but since last 4 times, the fish taste very weird and bad like it’s very old. Very disappointed.
I have known this place for over 10 years, their customer base and the prices of increased during this period but the quality of food has drastically gone down. The Biryani that used to be so good is now full of Oil and spices with no real rice to eat. The Sindhi biryani and the veal Pullao (weekend special dishes!) were soaked in Oil so much so that you can squeeze it out of the rice. What is this? Either they have lost their cooks or have hired student with no cooking experience to make the dishes. Horribly disappointed!
Menu is good but the service depends on the luck I guess. Sometimes it is very good and sometimes its just OK.they need to maintain the quality and be consistent in their taste and service.the quantity of food in the box depends on their mood as well, sometimes its is full and sometimes its not full. They need to work on being consistent.
This place used to be good, but it is going downhill.real fast. Bought some Behari Chicken yesterday.absolutely stale and cold.even though it was supposedly sitting on hot water, it was frozen cold.like it was just taken out of the freezer and wasn't even microwaved properly.it was the same way the last time too a few months back.yes.so forget FRESH.the food is not even warmed properly by these guys.and the Biryani.definitely not fit for human consumption (don't feed it ro birds either. IT WILL KILL THEM). Needless to say.my last visit to this place was yesterday. Saturday Aug 28,2021.
Had an excellent catering experience with Silver Spoon. The food was delicious as expected, and makes me looks like a Master Chef when I host people with their food.
My favorite biryani place this side down of town. Love their mutton biryani. Veal not so much. It's flavorful and not overly spicy. If you're looking for spice, the chicken biryani maybe a better fit.
They accidentally provided me with veal biryani on one occasion. Exchanged it with mutton, no questions asked when I went back to them. Since then I always make it a point to double check at the cash counter. I still go there whenever I need my biryani fix!
Their lahori fish tikka is good. I would avoid their curries - flavorful but too much oil and small portions. Their veg biryani is essentially some veg curry on top of biryani rice - can totally skip that. Need to try their sindhi biryani sometime. There is always a line-up outside this place which speaks volumes about their taste and quality. There's only ever been once occasion when I walked in without having to wait in the queue. The staff are quick and efficient, so cheers to that
I used them for catering for my two of my parties. The food was a huge hit. I had guests from all kind of different backgrounds and nationalities. The food was delivered on time. Will definitely use them again for future parties.
One of the worst chicken item I had in Toronto. Never order food from here. Chicken was smelly, it seems day-old food. It was stable. DON’T ORDER chicken lollipop and tandoori from here.
I tip my hat for Jamal and Mansoor and give two thumbs up for their professionalism and quality of food. Ridya is exemplary in her customer service. All of them were hospitable, respectful and efficient. Ridya was very cooperative, patient and diligent. She took her time to explain everything and walk me through different choices for catering. Needless to say, I breathed a sigh of relief! The owner, Jamal and Masoor, were truly leaders and mavens. They have hired people like Ridya who are serving customers with grace, diligence and utmost care. Ridya and her team went an extra mile to accommodate every customer. Jamal, Mansoor and Ridya were picture-perfect and their food was delicious, delightful and scrumptious. Silverspoon Scarborough stands head and shoulder above the competition. I would highly recommend it. Thank you very much, Silverspoon Scarborough especially Jamal, Mansoor and Ridya.
Please watch out guys we had such bad diarrhea from the rice combo special with two curries yesterday. This is not the first time we ordered most likely from the workers contamination as we are all trying to recover.
I had to phone half a dozen times before somebody bothered picking up the phone. I was told this establishment does not take take-out orders. So I went there in person, waited outside the store, in the rain for close to 20 minutes before I left. Readers can gauge the level of customer service from my experience.
I am taking food from this location for over 15 years. There is no consistency of quality. Its good certain times and terrible most of the times. Pre packed sindhi biryani is the biggest disappointment. Most of the times, there are only two drum sticks. Not even two pieces of full leg, that is one drum stick and one thigh. Not sure what they do with all the thighs and charge nine dollars for two drum sticks.
Poor quality, they put much more food than requested to sell faster. How much you benefited from doing that? $10? Guess what? I won't shop from here anymore.
I go here often many times a week. The customer service is disgusting, they give importance to men over females. The limit is 5 but they stop females from going in but not males. They rush you and the slim girl with a ponytail is very rude has too much attitude and seems miserable. Treats females badly but smiles while serving males. Terrible!
It was quite disorganized, slow and no order in place as to how to serve customers quickly and efficiently. A separate room is also required to handle and process food delivery, catering and big orders during the long lineups so that customers do not have to wait for long. What this location needs is a Manager who is involved in all aspects of the business and is hands-on by working both in the back and the front to serve customers in order to maintain standards and perhaps improve on them as well.
No proper acknowledgment or customer service at this location, needs better hygiene protocols in and around where food/ drinks are being served, would have given a higher rating for their delicious food, BUT, this place lacks proper hygiene during this pandemic we are all going through and 0 customer service, a simple smile would honestly go a long way! ️
A bad experience today went at 10.00am and shop didnt open till 11.00 am please have courtesy of Informing your clients as usual staff shortage only one person to serve and it took me another 15 mins to get my ordet completed good food but bad customer experience need to change this atritude toward paying clients
Got lot of parking room in the plaza but never we can find a spot close to the store we visiting. I would say its like small indian town as all the stores are indian authentic. Always visited silver spoon as it got a unique taste, though its not similar to south indian biryani flavour but in toronto this is the only place for consistent taste of biryani's.busy all the time as its not dine in only for pick up.
Very good taste of most food items that they sell, and price is possibly the cheapest. So if you quality, quantity at a good price and love Indian food, do visit.
The food is good, the price is fair but the service is poor. Have you ever seen the Seinfeld episode with the Food Nazi? If so, their service is close to that level depending on who is serving.but their food isn't good enough to be worth the poor attitude.
I ate almost half of my kabab wrap and then realized that one of the skewers was totally raw! And same thing with some fish pieces! How hard is it to cook the food? How does your grill man not know that skewer of ground beef doesn't cook in 1 minute? ! I'm posting pictures of both here. Oh and they don't take credit card in 21st century.
Delicious food and great selections. Whenever i go, there is usually no wait, and the food is fairly priced, but at this location they are very stingy on the portions. If they feel like there is more food then what you deserve, they will actually decrease the amount they will give you. At the Pickering location, they will have to forcefully close the box and sometimes have the curry dripping.which is fine with me because i get more food!
I tasted the Biryani of silver spoon two days back. To be honest, it is not up to the mark as I had before. Last time my friend bought Biryani from silver spoon I and my friends had it a couple of times and kept the remaining it in the refrigerator and had again later. It was so delicious and tasty. I still remember the taste which I had earlier. It does have good variety of option to choose the meal from. Maybe, My friend bought it from different branch because it has many branches in the Toronto. The restaurant I visited has only take away option. We cannot dine in there. I believe that this restaurant will make the Biryani tasty as its other branch make it.
Chicken lollipop are our favorites.all chicken dry items are a hit for Indian food lovers.never liked the gravy as it has more of bland taste compared to I dian spicy flavors
Absolutely amazing take out place.clean fresh food everyday all fried and bbq items tried and tested its yummy has perfect spices to each item.must try
Have been going to this place for 3-4 years now. They have maintained their quality well. Their biryani, lollipop chicken and fried fish are our favorites. It's a busy place but courteous staff always. Recommended.
The quality of the food is consistently going down. I am a regular customer at Silver Spoon but I have recently noticed a sour smell (that comes from rotten yogurt) in your biryani even when it is freshly cooked. I am a huge fan of Silver Spoon Sheppard but I can surely say that I have found inconsistencies in the taste of your dishes in the past few days. The purpose of this review is not to criticize but to make you guyz aware to look into the process of making biryani and other dishes.
Excellent place for fresh, tasty n quality Pakistani & Indian food, quick service even in rush hours, friendly supportive staff, convienient parking. Variety of biryani, curries, BAR B Q, desserts. They do catering as well. Prices are very good. A large display of items with prices. 4 out of 5. Thanks to everyone to serve a nice food specially the cheffs.
I had a really bad experience. I ordered dum ka qheema and it was not fresh at all. I just had to dump it and it was stinking as it was completely spoiled.
People need to relax about the Long lines and service. First off this place is a takeout place with cheap quality food. So there will many people coming here for takeout. Now can they hire more people? Of course but at what cost? It’s a minor inconvenience to wait extra 1-2 min but honestly it’s not bad at all. Also they service can improve it the food makes up for it. The weekly deals are awesome and I will continue to eat here.
