Came in for minnows and the owner was super kind and helpful. He really took an interest in understanding our needs and prices were very reasonable. Will happily return.

Best operator/owner. Such a kind man that is always looking to help you and guide you. Thi is my favourite place to get minnows and fishing stuff on my drive out. So many selections and great prices.

Great place to stop for bait on the way to fish. Literally right on 11 North, quick in and out. Also great that they give you a receipt and remind to keep it to keep you legal.

I was under the impression that this shop was closed, but I was happy to see that it is still open! It is no longer associated with the previous name and is being run independently.
I stopped by after a day on the ice and had a chat with another local angler and the owner/employee. Everyone was super friendly and willing to share tips and advice regarding the current ice fishing season on Simcoe. Nothing beats getting that type of info from guys who are out there grinding day in and day out.
As for the store, it is small, but LOADED with simcoe staples: Meegs, Set The Hook, Freedom Tackle, Vibrato, Frostbite, River Reaper, the new Menace jig and waayyyyy more. They have lots of reels (Daiwa, Pfleuger etc) and fenwick ice rods. This is just to name a few of the great items. They also have lots of live bait.
I'm not sure how the price stacks up compared to other local simcoe stores, but this is 5 minutes away from me and the convenience can't be beat. Anyone heading north to other lakes can make a quick stop here as it is just off the line 7 exit on hwy 11. Stock up and back on the hwy in no time.
I hope this store stays put for a long time because i no longer have to travel to pick up live bait for the ice season.

Honestly we stop in here every time we go to Washago and it’s an excellent place to actually learn about fishing as the owner is EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND FRIENDLY. Definitely worth a stop for everything fishing including live bait (try the live leeches trust me).
