Everything I’ve had so far has been a banger! My new fav restaurant and prices are adequate for the taste it’s totally worth it

Met family for lunch here today, there were 4 of us. We had a lovely time, the food was very good and our server was extremely attentive. Very, very reasonably priced.will be back!

Food was excellent but the wait time was a bit long for how empty it was but overall it was very good

Came here for the first time the other day and enjoyed our experience. Had eggs Benny and it was good! I liked being able to add onion to my home fries. Our waitress was very attentive and kind. I’d come here again!

Crunched into shell in second bite of my Eggs Benedict. It only took a quick inspection to find several more good sized shells. The meal was replaced but not until my party were finished their meals. The replacement came with a soggy english muffin and little burnt bits of something. I am not generally over particular but, would not recommend this restaurant. The server was very apologetic but unfortunately didn't come back to ask how the food was until we were well into the meal. There are definitely better choices in the area.

Absolutely love this place. Great food and even more the people that work there are fantastic. We stop by every time we pass by.

We waited ten minutes to be acknowledged when we walked. Then we waited another ten minutes for someone to notice we were sitting at a table. 30 minutes for food to arrive. There was no organization with the waitstaff or communication. The eggs Benedict with avocado was inedible. $20 for a meal and I couldn’t eat it. I let the one waitress know and she just took my plate. I was still charged for it. My father had the breakfast with peameal bacon. It was so dry he couldn’t cut through it. I was embarrassed to take my parents here as I had heard good things and they are from out of town. So not only was the service horrible, but the food was not edible. No one came around and asked if our food was OK or asked us if we wanted more coffee or tea… We had to flag someone down to take our plates and get the bill which is when I told them how bad my meal was. We walked out of there without being acknowledged at all. Safe to say we will not be returning.

Didn't even make it through the door. Their right wing anti vax and anti lock down signage posted in the front window turned my appetite right off. Come on now.time to move on.

Food is delicious, friendly staff, and reasonably priced! Not my usual style of place but I am glad I went on to try it!

I had a five star experience here and a few weeks later I had 2 star experience. I guess I'll have to come back for a third time.

Great food amazing atmosphere, the cooks are very good and know there stuff, saved me from an allergen.

I love coming here! It’s such a homey and inviting restaurant. You don’t feel rushed and are tended to timely. The food is always fresh and homemade. This was they’re bbq chicken sandwich I had for lunch! I was so full and happy after.

Just ate here for the first time. Absolutely loved the food. We had the country fried chicken and the home hash. It was a bit of a wait, but the server apologized for the wait and was fantastic with us. We have a 7 month old, and they were super accommodating towards our needs with him. I also loved seeing the huge space and change table in the womens washroom for babies as well. Just wish they had one in the men's as well.
Will definitely be coming back here again.

You have to eat here. Prob the best brunch I have had in years.and very reasonable price. The food is quality not the pre box stuff. I will be going back as much as I can

Amazing food and friendly service. The berry salad and deluxe grilled cheese was some of the best I've ever had (and this Tennessee girl knows good food)! Wish I could take this place back to the States! Will definitely come back!

Such a good breakfast, we visit several times a month. The staff are friendly and quick and the place is super comfortable. They can accommodate large tables, too!

It was our first time at this lovely diner. The decor was cozy & welcoming. We went for breakfast, and the food was delicious and the service was great. Definitely recommend visiting the Simmering Kettle!

Best eggs benny ive had in ages, perfectly cooked eggs and Peameal was tender and not overcooked. Fast service and very nice servers. Lots of choice on the breakfast menu too.

All-Day Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner restaurant found right next to the 400 exit in Barrie.
Restaurant was very clean, quiet due to the time I was there, but ample seating. The waitress was very attentive and the food came out quick and was absolutely delicious.
Great spot to eat, will definitely return.

Amazing good food for a great price. They go overboard to make your sure food is tasty and your experience is relaxing with no rush. Would definitely return again.

We have been going to the Simmering Kettle for years now but last time in will be my last time in. I had the soap of the day as my side. It was very good, until I was almost done when I found a piece of steel wool on my mouth from the soup! I understand that tha5 can happen and it's not just that I found a FOREIGN OBJECT in my food but that the server only took off $2 for it. Yes I did eat the sandwich, but in ANY restaurant where I've worked (I'm a chef) the whole meal would have been comped. She also acted like it was no big deal.

Only reason for 2 stars is in the past we have had good experiences there.

I was very disappointed with the service as normally they are very friendly. When we first went into the restaurant the server seemed very hesitant (we are Asian) to greet us. Even though the restaurant was half full we were relegated to the corner furtherest away from other people beside some trash and boxes. It felt as though we were being treated differently. I hope this will change soon as the food is wonderful.

Service: Friendly, Polite, Helpful.
Atmosphere: Warm, Inviting.
Food: Someone knows how to cook an Egg, Easily the best Breakfast I have had at a restaurant.
Suggestions: a spice shaker for the home fries. Buy everything is perfect.

Amazing customer service, delicious food, good portions and reasonable pricing. They also sell delicious jams at the entrance/ checkout. One of my favourite restaurants in Barrie

The best breakfast and brunch place in Barrie. We tried this restaurant when we first moved to Barrie and never looked back! This is our Sunday brunch joint. Both food and staff here are amazing! My favourite from the breakfast menu is “The skillet”!

Highly recommend this restaurant for those from Barrie and the ones visiting or driving past South Barrie.

Absolutely loved this restaurant! Came here for lunch with my boyfriend and it was such a nice warm atmosphere. You can tell everything is homemade. Must try the spinach and artichoke dip!

Breakfast was was tasty even though it was luke warm. Service was slow but I think there was only one person serving that day. Loved the jam was so good I bought a jar.

The staff was very friendly, the environment was welcoming and clean. The food was delicious and enjoyable. Overall a great experience and everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Definitely would recommend!

Good place to eat. I thought $40 for two ppl lunch was a bit too much, a bit pricey for what was served in the Bento Box. Also a little too oily for my palette.

This is a very friendly restaurant with great food. The seating is very comfortable and cozy. We will be back next time we are in Barrie.

What a pleasure to have found this place. We started with the articoke dip with naan bread and it was very flavorful The wife had a breakfast themed plate and the bacon was cooked perfectly. I had a burger and added the mushrooms and onions. The only thing better than the food was the service. Smiling friendly and extremely helpful. My only regret was we dodnt find this place sooner most certainly will return

When in Barrie, Ontario a must visit is the "Simmering Kettle"
Their MENU is as GOOD as their Restaurant VALUES. Menu ITEMS FOR ALL. They do NOT DISCRIMINATE! WHICH in this day an age, Is amazing!
THEIR food is Exceptional and homemade, NEVER FROZEN unlike the MAINSTREAM MEDIA!
I VISIT THIS PLACE ONCE A WEEK, when I don't feel like Cooking! You Won't be disappointed!

We had such a lovely breakfast here, the food was great, and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Its amazing to see the owner caring for each and every customer and checking in on the tables.

Ignore the * Karen's* complaining about public health guidelines. They are very clean, great food, great business. Support and protect this business.

Wonderful place for a meal. The food and service are second to none. I have never had a meal that I was not thoroughly happy with, or service that ever disappointed.

From the minute we walked In The door the service was incredible! Greeted with a smile the staff was incredibly kind. The food was amazing, great portions and good home cooked feeling. The owner made a effort to talk with each table. She was kind and sweet and took time to show us her incredible water system. Felt almost like going to moms for dinner a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Great place to eat.a place that still values freedoms! Ignore the sheeples comments! Clearly your vaccines work right? That’s why half the nhl teams and Barrie hockey league is shut down EVERYONE IS VACCINATED. Wake up Canadians. I will continue to support this place and any other that isn’t part of the problem.

What a quaint little place with warm welcoming Decor and staff.
The food smelt great when it got to the table and tasted just as good. Very accommodating I even see them try to help squeeze in a couple so they didn’t have to wait. Unfortunately they didn’t appreciate they effort, Probably one of those people who have stuff going on in there life that feel the need to share there anger with those around them. But the staff did a great job of trying to help them.

Liver and onions were awsome, had the BLT as well a different day and it was delicious. Food is very good. Staff very friendly.

I have been to this restaurant twice now. The food has been fresh each time. Fresh and delicious. The place is clean and well kept.

In this place, they welcome you like family. Even when they are stressed and trying to serve an absolutely stuffed restaurant, the waitresses take time with you and never rush you. We stayed for hours. We each had an amazing plate of food, huge portions. Their spinach dip is 5! The owner is a strong woman filled with grace, thankfulness, and a kind heart. It’s the first time I’ve felt normal in a year. Thank you, Simmering Kettle!

Used to love this place but after the recent events I will never be returning. I hope the owner learns some responsibility and respect. Very disappointed.

Amazing food but the service! Blew us away. Our server was so nice, attentive and fast! The pea soup was also very good.
