One of my personal favourite Caribbean spots in the city deliciously spicy jerk chicken and fresh fried plaintains. 5/5

Great flavors, but the chicken meat is very low quality with lots of fat and gristle, and cartilage.the chicken meat needs to be much smaller.not shredded nexessibut much smaller and cleaner.

The food is amazing, the jerk chicken is so flavorful and the beef patty is out of this world

My first visit to Simone's (I want to say 2014) I sat out back on the lovely patio on a warm summer evening and ate a delicious curry goat on rice and peas. I recall that as an excellent experience. Since then, the food has never been quite as good, and is a bit uneven (better than some visits than others). Go on a warm day so you can chill out back with a frosty beer in the cozy patio.

Absolutely delicious. Reasonably priced as well. I live in the neighbourhood, and I will definitely be back.

The festival dumplings here are so tasty that I'm pretty sure they constitute proof of a loving God. It's going to be a real struggle for me to eat anything else. My life is ruined?

The Johnny cakes are absolutely out of this world. So is the coleslaw. And the soup I had was heavenly too. O and the beef patty as well. You know what: this place just serves fantastic food!

Had the oxtail dinner and goat curry dinner, both were fantastic! Coleslaw on the side was really good too. Festival was a bit greasy but still yummy. Top quality!

Short girl at the front has an attitude problem. No social skills. If you are depressed don't work in a restaurant little girl. Especially the front. Also you guys charge for hotsauce.

You addressed making the food spicier, yet overlooked the garbage attitude? Makes sense. Keep your garbage attitude, and keep your "homemade" hotsauce. Clearly you don't give a F about etiquette and manners.

Used to order from this place via door dash all the time. Most recently I placed my regular order. Received smaller portions than what I paid for. Got a long run around how doordash changes the prices (they don't), how when I order a certain size they automatically give me a smaller size (huh?), how its door dashes fault that I got a smaller portion (they don't make the food), etc. None of it made any sense. I placed the exact same I have always placed, using the same service but got half the food. Essentially, they overcharged me and refused to take responsibility. I paid $40 and got so little food that I had to make a full second meal.

Had jerk chicken, oxtail, johnny cakes and rice and peas. All items were prepared really well. The chicken dish leans on the leaner side but it is full of flavor and doesn't you feel bad about finishing it all.

I’m writing with a complaint about extremely shameful customer service that I received last night at your establishment.

I’m not giving a low score because of the food. I ate the red snapper and it was delicious.

This is not my first time eating at Simone’s. I’m a fairly regular customer and as always the food was great but the customer service was poor.

My first issue is that you have to order at the counter for dinning in at the restaurant. Second, dinning in while eating out of plastic takeout containers using plastic utensils is not acceptable and not environmentally friendly. Third I was asked to pay my bill in advance, even though I was dinning in. At this point I still gave a 20% tip. Fourth and most egregious was when I asked for some hot pepper sauce to eat with my food and they said I have to pay $1.50 extra. That is like charging for mustard and ketchup at a burger joint. Who does this…no one!

I then went on and said I don’t need a container can I please just have a squirt of hot pepper sauce on the side and the staff still replied no. I asked the staff to reconsider this decision and talk to the owner about my request. The staff went in the kitchen and when she came out still insisted no that I had to pay $1.50 extra for hot pepper sauce. This is just so petty and extremely poor customer service.

Out of principle, as a regular customer, who supported this small business during the pandemic, I will NOT return and I will take my money elsewhere.

They aren't doing table service, but they let us sit down and took good care of us.

The portions are very generous.

We got BBQ chicken + veggies, fish fritters, and goat curry + johnny cakes.

Everything was good, but they are doing something magical with the goat curry. It was absolutely amazing. Top 3 Caribbean food I've ever eaten hands down. Great time, great food. Will go back 100%

The food was very good. The service was good also. There weren't a lot of people. But there was a steady stream of takeout orders. Get the Spiked Sorrel?

Absolutely brilliant. Ordered it on Doordash and it was worth the hour long wait. They weren't lying about the portions. Also I NEED to find a recipe for those banana fritters because I absolutely need more of those.

I swear Simone’s is the best Caribbean food in the city, and that’s saying something given how many places there are to try. I always get the oxtail with rice and peas and it never disappoints. The rice is flavourful and delicious and the oxtail is fall-off-the-bone good. Every single time I eat here, I leave happier than I came in. I dream of this food when I’m away from Toronto. You MUST eat here.

Other amazing things to try from their menu: jerk chicken (juicy and spicy yum), coleslaw, callaloo, plantains, kidney bean stew, johnny cakes, festival, and any of their rotis. Ok, now that I’ve listed basically the entire menu hopefully I’ve persuaded you to go eat there.

What here for lunch just pass by and saw this place and hmmmm it was boss the food was so delicious and tasty. I other jerk chicken and pease and rice the rice was so amazing flavoured not just some plain rice with pease the think taste like ah real cook up rice and man the coleslaw taste like vanilla ice cream

It used to be great years ago, but they let their popularity get to their head. They serve old, microwaved chicken and bring your food out an hour after it's ordered. Their staff is also as rude as their chicken is rubbery.

I love their fried dumplings, they are well moist. Callaloo and cod fish great! Ackee and cod fish amazing! Jerk Chicken “ive had better”.

Best Jamaican restaurant in the city! The rice and peas has so much flavour. I've brought family straight from J.a to this restaurant, all of them has said this is the best jamaican food they have ever had. You can tell the chef cooks with alot of love and passion.

I had the Curry Chicken Roti with potatoes and the coleslaw, both were so tasty and i love their beef patties!

Wanted to use them as a caterer for an event this summer and ordered some items to try, they were fantastic and large portions! We were excited to order from them for the party! Went back to order again since I liked the chana and vegetables but the portion was so much smaller now that they didn't know it was me who was planning to cater from them (food was still great though). My main issue was the communication. We called and emailed saying we'd like to order the chana vegetables, jerk chicken, cod fritters and beef patties for our party. After a lot of pestering for 2 weeks we finally got a response that they would not serve the appetizers or the chana vegetables and it would be 2 proteins and rice and beans for each person, which we did not ask for. They actually told us to look for the vegetarian meal elsewhere. So yes, we will go look for a vegetarian meal, and all of our other meals from someone else. I'm sure if you stopped by for dinner its a lovely choice, but consider another caterer to work with.

Authentic and exquisite Island cuisine! The cod fritters will wow you and the ackee and cod will surely delight your taste buds! Man Alive! This is the spot for curry goat roti! Simone's Caribbean cuisine won't disappoint.

We came here looking for a quick dinner. I went for the jerk chicken salad. The chicken was excellent and had nice spice. The salad was missing the corn and peppers from the description and would improove with more avocado. Overall a pleasant dinner and very friendly employees.

I went in on one of the saddest days of my life. And I walked out with a smile

Nice place to eat, however summer time they have a raccon problem they all come down back area and your having to run inside leaving your food.
That's was literally what happened when we went there in the summer nights.so don't stay to late. They re not to blame for raccoons but they come down from trees with their mother and father and want food, the whole family comes out.pretty scary as they came to our near the left side of the bench chairs they were not scared, we obviously we got up and sat inside for our dessert.it's the city issue but too bad they can't cage the top so they can't get in to walk around. THE FOOD IS DECENT THOUGH.

Loved their Jerk chicken roti and oxtail. Both are so flavourful. The jerk chicken roti comes in a small container, but don't let it fool you. The actual roti is huge! The only thing I would prefer is if it were boneless. I found a lot of little bones while eating. This could be a choking hazard.

If you want good Caribbean food, it has to be made fresh. Simone's takes the time and does it right, with hefty portions and proper spice profiles. Their menu includes popular dishes from Jamaica, Trinidad and Guyana. The only reason I'm giving a 4-star is because it still doesn't beat my mama's cooking.

Oxtail was legendary.

Perfectly cooked with such a great kick. Don't even get me started on the coleslaw - that was god tier.

Quite possibly the worst oxtail in the city of Toronto maybe even Ontario as a province. Meat was hard and tough, had way too much thyme in, and it was not fall of the bone. The rice and peas wasnt good either had a weird burnt taste to it, and no hint of coconut cream. I went twice and ordered the same thing. The first time it was bad and the second time was just as worst. I also went around lunch time when the food would be fresh, but I got the same result both times. I can't speak for their chicken but definitely stay away from their oxtail at $19 a plate it's definitely a rip off.

Ive driven by this place many times but am stuck on a few other Caribbean places I frequent nearby. I finally decided to try it tonight and ordered dinner for my family. My wife went to pick up the food and to my surprise, the price for dinner was NOT anywhere near the price on their website. My wife didn’t question the price when she paid because I ordered.

I decided to call the restaurant and ask about the pricing. The person on the phone stated rudely and bluntly, “we are having a dispute with the website company so it’s not our problem that the prices on the website isn’t what we charge. ”

I was shocked with how this was handled. This could have all been avoided if they would simply let customers know when ordering, in case they are ordering off the website menu, that the prices have changed. Instead, they let you have a nice surprise when you pick up. This had nothing to do with the $20 that was overcharged, it was more about misrepresentation. I would have been able to accept it if it was a simply polite explanation.

The worst part of it all is the size of the Roti is literally half of most Caribbean places such as Real Jerk.the food was good but certainly didn’t leave me with a WOW as I enjoy Caribbean cuisine often.

In my business, if there is a dispute and it’s not on the customers’ fault then I would eat that cost.

This was my first and last time ordering from Simone’s.

I’ve been to this restaurant too many times and I have not once been disappointed. In fact the food keeps getting better and better! If you’re looking for good food, this is the spot.

Ordered the Chana and veggies and it was well seasoned, the rice and peas was cooked well with coconut milk. You could taste the rich coconut milk in it. Magnificent!

The only issue is they serve too much rice and peas. Too much carbs. They should serve less rice and peas and more veggies.give everyone a balanced meal. Overall meal was good and the customer service was a 7/10.

Everything here is outstanding. I can recommend any of the vegetarian rotis as well as the ackee and salt fish with rice and peas. Even the peppery coleslaw is special! Very generous portions, too. In the middle of Greektown, it may be one of the most underrated Jamaican restaurants in Toronto.

Great food! Excellent customer service. The staff are kind, polite and professional. Short wait times. The restaurant is clean. Food is served hot and very delicious.

Food is very fresh. Service is wonderful. Dependable time given. I had the goat curry with green banana and a side of callaloo. It was clean and healthy food with a mild balanced very savoury flavours.

Easily the best Jamaican food in this part of town, speaking as someone who has tried a lot of it. The oxtail and goat are perfect, and the rice and beans might be the best in the city. This is our go to every time.

Just finished a delivery order and it was phenomenal. Kudos to the person who mentioned the coleslaw.it was fantastic. Had the jerk chicken and the curry chicken roti with two orders of the johnny cakes. All were great. Considering it was delivery it was also warm and fresh, but hopefully we can visit in person one day soon!

I've been on a bit of a mission to find the best oxtail in Toronto - my mission just ended. There is no topping the oxtail from Simone's. The depth of flavour had me trying to identify the different herbs and spices in her recipe - the peppers where perfectly cooked - YUM!

Excellent food, very kind staff, consistently fantastic mood. They charge fair rates and the food quality is fantastic. I recommend this place.

We came to this restaurant for a meeting.we heard about this place from a lot of people. Well, it was very nice. The staff members were extremely nice and we felt fantastic. The meal was delicious. We enjoyed every moment and we shall absolutely come back again. We recommend this place to all.

Super surprised at this gem of a place. Highly recommend the shrimp roti and johnnycakes. Top it off with a Ting and voila! Fabulous meal!

Excellent. Ordered the jerk chicken roti with slaw, a patty and plantain. The roti was amazing. The dhalpuri roti wasn't overly dry and had just the right amount of chew to keep the saucy filling nicely bundled. The jerk chicken was super tender, robust in flavour and not too spicy. The sides were all excellent, plantain was properly ripened and not too oily, the slaw was remarkably tasty, and the beef patty was every bit as good as Randy's. Support your local spots in the tough times, Simone's won't disappoint!

I love this place! They prepare superb dishes, their menu is rich, The chief cook in that place is a professional, I love a lot trying all their food. The food is consistently fresh, the service towards the clients is friendly. I go often to this restaurant and I not even once was disappointed. I recommend it to all my friends.

Went the other day and it was a waste of money. The reviews are probably coming from people who are not Jamaican and can't tell good food one way or the other.the curry goat was dry and chewy and definitely was not fresh. The chicken soup was okay, but you can tell it was reheated and not made fresh either. Not worth the money no matter the cost.

I dine in this restaurant quite a bit! This is my favorite place to eat. I go there many times. The food is very good, the crew is welcoming and the price is good. I enjoy going in this restaurant for a good meal.

The food is exceptional. Definitely my go to for Caribbean food. It is a very homey and welcoming place.

The feel of a true Caribbean eatery. Small yet quaint setting. Hosts were very friendly and attentive. We tried many samples, which were wonderful and then add the bonus of being able to sit outside. Also note that desserts are not industry manufactured, but homemade!

This spot is worth giving a shot. They have large portions for convenient prices. Regularly well organized and with excellent vibes. I highly recommend this place.

The food at Simone's is EXCELLENT! I was there twice this week and the chicken roti and jerk chicken. Both were amazing.

I have eaten here a few times now and overall it was good. The service is a bit slow but im not to worried on that.
The last time I was there, last tues, it was awful. I ordered stew chicken and instead I was served some kind of bbque style chicken, with the bones in, tossed with random veggies. Maybe because I'm white they figured idk what stew chicken is supposed to be like. But i can assure you i was not served no stewed anything. I brought a group of people there as well, so i didn't want to make a fuss. We finished filming a dancehall documentary and i brought them there for some Jamaican food and experience. When I mentioned to the staff about my meal they laughed at me and suggested i was served someones elses order, but made no attempt rectify the apparent mistake. Overall very disappointing experience.

Food is excellent bit pricy but still worth for once a while, I wasn't impressed with the guy at the cash counter he wasn't friendly and didn't greet well.

This is the most expensive Caribbean restaurant in toronto probably. The food does live up to its expectation. There is another Caribbean restaurant close by that serves flavorful food for more than half the fraction.

Service was fast and friendly and food was amazing! I had the chana and vegetables in a roti, and it was actually a medley of vegetables (not the oft experienced potatoes and nothing else), beautifully seasoned. Roti itself was also very tasty. So glad I stumbled across this place, will definitely be back.

I visit this place a lot since I work close by. I got to say their customer service is always awesome and they keep the place clean constantly. Pricing is affordable and they serve generous portions.

A real Toronto gem. Places like this solidify Toronto as one of the best places in the world for eating out. Prices very reasonable and quantity is generous. Food quality is very high. The traditional Jamaican sorrel drink is a must, if I had to single out one of the many excellent dishes.

Food sometimes a hit and miss. Snapper is ALWAYS consistent. Often times service is NOT with a smile.

I have been a customer of Simone's for a couple of years now but stopped going because I find the prices to be too high for the portion sizes. Do not get me wrong whatever I have ordered has been very tasty.goat, ackee, coleslaw, rice with peas. My other issue with Simone's is since I always order take out from them, I have had numerous instances where no one picks up the phone, and there is no option to even leave a voice message.
