Really enjoyable bar, great good and really friendly staff. GREAT on tap breer options and could do with some more rum options.:)

Good vibe here. Best part was that the kitchen was open late compared to other spots in the neighborhood. We had a mix of apps and food. Everyone was satisfied overall. Large selection of beer and drinks.

2 stars instead of one because the server was lovely. Food was awful though, and overpriced to boot. $20 for fish and chips, and the fries seemed to come from a bag of frozen shoestrings? Not sure why I thought the Cajun chicken wrap would be good, but it was not. I guess that's what you get when you want a patio with kids on Elgin.

I followed Ottawa's good friend recommendation and found a good selection of draught and canned beers and friendly client service.

Your typical downtown Brit style Pub. Usually has many beers on tap.during this visit some beers unavailable. Service with a smile and prompt. They have an interesting Pub menu. Did not order food.they also have a sidewalk patio area which is covered with Umbrellas. Generally clean.

The service was very slow and the food didn't make up for it. When we asked for ketchup the waitress brought us an empty bottle. I asked for my steak medium rare, it came medium well. The salmon was overcooked as well.

Went here a week after a surgery and had to leave abruptly. Jess M was really good about it and made sure we had everything we needed to still enjoy our day. Thanks Jess!

Great selection of beer on tap. Big servings of food and definitely worth the money and worth going. By far the main reason to go is the beer though.

Great selections of beer. However, cocktails were pretty mediocre. Food was what you would expect at a pub but mains were portioned so that sides were more than the actual dish (filling but not satisfying). Service was good and servers were nice but it took 20 minutes to get one cocktail.

Had a great time. Waitresses and bartenders were amazing and put up with my friends and I and my cheesy magic

Went out for drinks and a bite. Great selection of beers and equally good selection of cocktails.

Food was classic pub fare, and for the price great value for money (the portions were very generous)

Service was good. Excellent beer list. Homemade hummus is great. Only downside is that the street can be very noisy (motorcycles, sirens, etc).

The place was packed with a massive cross section of people.the only negative was they seemed understaffed on the night I was there.

Great selection of pub food even though I am a picky eater, I found something I liked on the menu.
Could do for a better cocktail menu since I hate beer and am always dragged by my friends to go to pubs.
Great atmosphere and Elgin street is always alive but not overwhelming like the Byward Market

Great food but service was slow-only 1 waitress on for entire lunch crowd. Hard to get staff for lunchtime crowd.

The food is barely average, and the staff were hostile and flat out rude. Made our dinner feel hostile and not enjoyable.

This place knows what hospitality business is all about.when everyone else was turning ppl away bc of capacity, this place was able to make room for a small group. The drinks were quick, the server was fantastic and the late night food was pretty good. The pub was definitely rockin' so good night was had by all. Big shout out to the gentleman at the host stand.he made it all happen. Good place for drinks and good atmosphere.

A great pub experience near the parliament buildings where you can sit at the bar and have great conversations with friends or new acquaintances.

Went on a Friday evening: place was over crowded, and they still manage to take a great care of us. Server was very attentive, drinks were good and food too! Place is clean. Highly recommend.

Came here for the weekend. Great atmosphere, much more relaxed compared the other pubs here and won't give you a headache after 20 minutes. Staff was great to me and made it a nice place to burn time.

The burger was the most below average burger I have ever tried; dry, flavourless and somehow still priced at about $20 and just to top it all off, there is this young-ish guy server who almost started a fight with our table because of our dog. Their patio is supposedly dog friendly but apparently that is only if they like you.

If the owner is reading this, you really have to keep an eye on your servers. This server is the fastest way to lose customers.

Was having a good time until some random dude in the restaurant, who was not our server, very rudely came up to us and aggressively started to tell us that our puppy was being too loud. If you are going to be a dog friendly restaurant, you have to understand that there is a potential that the dog your customers bring may bark. Although my pup was barked a few times here and there, it was barely louder than the literal patio itself. However, instead of politely coming up to us and explaining the situation, some random who we had no clue was, started to tell us that we need to respect the place and that he already said yes so he can't do anything? Extremely poor attitude and service. Beer was good. We ended up getting our food to go because it felt like a very hostile environment and we didn't feel comfortable. I got the bangers and mash and that was very salty and gross. Do not recommend.

A chill place for light food and drinks. We got the pub platter and it was big enough to share. The server was really nice too.

My go-to watering hole for years now. I love their staff, super friendly owner, amazing selection of drinks on tap. Food is pretty average pub food but the atmosphere makes up for it. Clean venue, patio and indoors with nice layout and attracts wide range of customers. I've been there with some girlfriends and seen business types, elderly groups, jock types, and loners all enjoying themselves

I've always been a big fan of grabbing a quick drink here on your way around downtown. It's very close to where I live and they have a massive selection of drafts. Service is always phenomenal, they understand their patrons and know how to serve them properly. I would give them 5 stars on being a bar, however my personal suggestion would be to stick to drinks. After maybe 5 or 6 previous visits we decided to grab food, and while it's at a comparable price to other local pubs, the quality is poor. We had the Cajun Wrap and the Chicken Naan Sandwich, and were pretty disappointed in the quality. It's standard pub fare, but unfortunately they just don't' do it well (or at least didn't that evening). I still suggest you check it out and grab a beer, you won't be disappointed in just showing up for drink.

We got a street-side table, so constant foot and car traffic on either sides of us which made for interesting people and traffic watching, but if you prefer less bustle, ask and wait for a restaurant-side table. Either way service was quick and efficient. Our server was friendly and on the ball. Washroom was clean.

Nice little pub. We stopped in for food and drinks. The food was good although the menu said basmati rice came with the curry but it was just regular white rice. Minor issue. The beer selection is fantastic. A few they were out of that I wanted to try but that's somewhat expected in these times. A little odd there are no prices on the beer menu.

Overall, great pub and would go back.

If you're craving something fried, get the party platter. It's quite possibly the best fried pub platter in the city.

Always a classic destination while in Ottawa. This place has been my go-to ever since moving here in 2012. Cozy, friendly and great variety of craft beers.

This is the best pub in Ottawa if not Ontario. Great food. Amazing beer selection, including Delerium. Awesome staff and owner.

Had the Cajun burger and Farmers Daughter beer. Both were excellent. Best burger Ive had in a long time

My husband loves their pizza, he said it is really good, I am celiac, so I cannot try it however, good news they have GF options, like the curry. Which is really good!

Superb beer menu. Food menu is typical pub eats - wraps are delicious. Great atmosphere and staff is stellar. Noise level mixed in with music sometimes gets a little too high so holding a conversation can get a little tricky.

We had Fish n Chips and a burger both meals were good to large sized portions and were tasty enough. Sorry no pics

Great service with a really huge beer selection. Just a shame they don't do flights. But $4 for a 10ounce pour ain't bad.

There is no where else I want to go when I go to Ottawa. If I think of Ottawa I think of this place.

When I think of great prime ministers, I think of a someone in particular.

John A. Macdonald is my favourite prime minister so this place holds a special place in my heart.

Great service, good food, reasonable drink prices. I recommend it to anyone visiting Ottawa! Their terrace in the summer is a pleasure. It can be crowded some nights, so go a bit off-peak.

Normally love this place expect for lately there’s this one blonde server who is always closing and uses bar for her own personal social hour and neglects to serve customers.

Good beer good food. Only down fall is depending where you sit at the bar the lose you since there is the extra bar top wall so they cant see if you need another beer or not

5 stars for the amazing server who was really busy but made all customers feel special. I don't know her name but she made our night. Stopped at a few pubs along Elgin Street but service was so poor we left without getting served.

This has become a favourite lunch spot of mine. The servers are super friendly and accommodating, and the food is great. My personal fav is the beef boxty.

Good food, good atmosphere but Elgin st is under rconstruction till early 2020 so the patio is not as pleasant!

Our server was awesome! Made the experience for us. Road construction is being done right now so outside view is not the best. But great staff and beer menu.

Service is fast. Craft Beer selection is very good with lots of local and Ontario craft breweries to select from. One thing that stands out about this location. The staff are great! Friendly accommodating just awesome! The food is what you would expect from this type of restaurant. Wholesome. Comfort food. Quality is excellent. Seating is spread out and there's plenty of it. Especially when outdoor seating is available. This place is my go to when downtown. You can visit the canal/lock system. Visit the museum of nature all within a short 10-20 min walk. If you're not familiar with downtown Ottawa you can walk from the canal locks/historic site. Visit the war memorial. Stop in to Sir John A Pub to eat. Finish your walk at the museum of nature. Just a couple blocks away. Did l mention all the above attractions are practically on the same road. A straight shot. No maps needed. But if you need directions. Canadians are here to help eh!

I love this pub. When we are in Ottawa from NS this is our go to pub. Lots of selection and the best fish and chips west of NS. Try the cajun chicken wrap if you are not into fish. The wait staff are AMAZING! It is unfortunately on Elgin street in the middle of a major construction zone but that doesnt stop us.

Quick efficient service from Bartender and a good selection of craft beers. Rotating taps monthly so there is often something new.

Your standard pub. Good variety of seating with a patio in the summer. Prompt service. I found the menu somewhat limited but it was decent pub grub at a decent price.

Really nice British pub. Food's on the pricier side, but the atmosphere is a step above your average Ottawa pub
