Sir Wilfrid Laurier Public School

If there was a 0-star rating I would rate that 0 stars. This school's bathrooms are just relatively filthy. No one flushes the toilets in the boy's bathroom. This school is biased toward specific grades. Like they always call grade 5's last for almost everything. There is no air conditioning and we have to use the fan to cool down. Our teacher provided us with perfectly used windows 7 computers that were supposed to be in the garbage. Yet the principal said we couldn't "take care of it". They provide the other grades' field trips but don't give specific grade field trips including grade 5. The grade 4's went on two field trips but the grade 5's got 0. I hope this school changes the bias toward specific grades. The water in the bathroom is really filthy and I don't even think the soap cleanses your hands. I hope this school will really read what I have said and possibly change this. There is also too much bullying. Im sorry for the kids who had to go to this school.

I think all my time being in this school has been.

Soooo mostly in this school i speak french and likkee, i don't think i even learn to speak much. (Mostly because i didn't want to) and like one of the teachers there that was TEACHING FOR 2 YEAR AND JUST HATED ME, SO HE FAILED ME IN SCIENCE (I'm pretty sure because like i kind of hated him too) AND HIS COUSIN WORK THERE TOO, AND SHE IS VERY OBNOXIOUS AND that is more biased than donald trump.

Soo other than that most of the teachers are nice.but i kinda hated the part that from 2022-2023 there was a vice principal WHICH I HATED BECAUSE SHE SOUNDED LIKE A KAREN

Anyways so like everythin else was great

BUT NOT THE LUNCH PROGRAMS THAT THE SCHOOL PROVIDES BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO OVER-PRICED

My old school was horrible I played with a brick and a string tied to a plastic bag for fun. But with this school I do not do that anymore sadly but I do other stuff. Like in gym class I get my glasses broken twice by the same person and get tripped and do a flip kinda like a triple tuck 360 no scope by the same person who broke my glasses. And if you want to know who the glasses breaker/the knee breaker is he's the shortest queen in town. Overall not bad.:)

I've been in the school for 7 years. I really enjoyed it as I made lot's of friends and most of the teachers are really nice and helpful. I saw a bunch of 1 star reviews saying stuff that is false. I don't know why people post wrong things that is false.

I've been here for a pretty long time now and this is my last year here. There are some big classrooms, really nice teachers and also mean ones. Sometimes gym class can be very boring. Overall, it's a good school.

I went to the school all 8 years and I can say that the school is cool, and most of the teachers are good. Only problem is ~our principals that somehow keep making the news~ there is too much bullying and our school has literally done nothing to help. Also we have trash supply teachers coming to this school. Normal teachers are fine though. 4/10 would not recommend but at least it’s not UMS kekw.

Delicious service, they offer a variety of tasty selections of crispy chicken and bologna and I would love to come here again.

I wanna be remembered here in swl history for my spontaneous nosebleeds and helping the staff to avoid going outside for recess

It’s ok not really that special. I guess the best thing about this school are the big classrooms and SOME nice teachers. But overall not bad except for kicking out Mr Messiah and the principal.

I am a user of this facet of our public education system. To have access to such an extraordinary education certainly predisposes all the citizens who inhabit this area of Markham an incredible likelihood of success in their future endeavours. I offer my recommendation of the highest order.

All the teachers that I have had from grade one to 8 (now) have been caring, supportive and overall great teachers. Our principal Mme. Joyce is amazing. She is very caring, supportive, patient, welcoming and very easy to talk to if theres anything going on, and is always willing to help you out. The years that she has been at Sir Wilfred have been the best years. Our new Vice Principal this year (Mr. Spencer) is great. Although I haven't known him for long, from what I know everyone likes him because he's kind, funny and really cool. Overall its a great school

Lol I didn't know how much hatred kids held for the principle until I read all these reviews.whats so bad about her?

I was a previous student there and i don't like it. Most of the teachers are very mean and punish people for little tiny stuff like accidentally forgot to bring a book into classroom when it's in you're locker.also there are so many bullies.

Raymond moved to this school. Raymond is pretty much the opposite of King Midis. Instead of turning everything to gold, he turns everything to garbage.

The principal punishes people for no reason.the principle is so bad that she made the yrdsb teacher of the year quit.nobody wants to work with the principal.we've literally changed 4 different vice principals in the last 2 years

The teachers are very nice but the principle is very rude and punishes people who did nothing wrong. The music teacher that works with grade 5's to 8 was very rude and called me homeless for forgetting to bring my duotang. Her name is ms.holly and she was always very mean to me. She is probably related to ms.louie. She never shuts up about her kids.

Im shocked by all the trash reviews.this is a good school with supportive teachers and staff.their french immersion program is great and helped me a lot both in and out of school.although i have to say their field trips are not as good.like who needs to go to swan lake a trillion times? Also the music room could be bigger, band was tough last year with so many people trying to fit into such a cramped space.overall i would recommend this school if you don't care about these tiny details:)

This place used to be good, now the school isn’t that good anymore for example, they don’t take requests for people you want to be with and also before 6 graders had lockers but now don’t the staff is still ok.

My favourite memory of SWL was when we made one of our teachers depressed by popping a $300 Kinball

This is my sons first year at SWL. Starting at a different school comes with some additional challenges. Kids will be kids - some kids are nice and some kids are not. I've been impressed with the school and the staff so far. The teachers are engaged and care about my son. The secretaries are very nice and helpful even when it's crazy in the office. Principal and vice principal are also great. When I see them, they always ask how my son is adapting to his new school.

This school is really amazing. The Principal Mme. Joyce, the Vice Principal Mme. Panny Lam and all the teachers are great. I like them all. It is a place with full of love.
