Skaf's Just Basics

Bigger than you would think and so many options! Could even get some health foods that I can’t get at other places

I don't often go to Skafs, but since I work downtown Port Arthur and I went to visit my mother, I figured I'd stop there for a few items. No issues navigating the store, however the cashier at the register spoke very quietly (I'm hard of hearing, and the cashier turned partially to the register) and I mistakenly heard 'how are you' not 'how are you paying'- the person at the register was very abrupt. I felt very uncomfortable, not the best experience. Customer service is a big thing- just wanted to share that. Overall great store for goods though.

As a family-owned grocery and all-around store Skaf's is a great go to to cover your basic needs, friendly staff and decent variety, they've saved me on more than one occasion. Their best feature by far are their hours 8am - 11pm 365 days of the year. Admittedly their produce is probably their weakest area but seeing a local grocer, supplied by local farms and butchers keeps bringing me back.

Great little gem to have in current river. Open everyday of the year great in a pinch and don't have to drive into town if headed to camp. Has all your essentials and more

The only store to have Oat'Nog during the holiday season! Shafts is awesome groceries and merchandise ~ all in one shopping for your convenients

Need to exercise better quality control. I had to throw out 4 boxs of granola bars that were so disgustingly stale that they were not edible. Groceries are expensive enough without having to purchase garbage product.

Looking for something a little different - especially KETO related items? This is the place!

Good store but items are in odd places. For example cured meats are in fridges. Like why? But convenient for what you need.
