My new sofa was delivered today much sooner than expected to my delight! Floyd and Nathan were professional, considerate, and efficient. A very charming duo indeed. Thank you guys! I will now curl up in my new sofa and enjoy!

We decided to return to Sklar Peppler after the frame on our couch we purchased from another manufacturer broke. Our previous couch was Sklar Peppler and is still in great shape after 20 years. The selection is the store was great in both price ranges and style. The sales staff was helpful and not pushy. The delivery team of Floyd & Nathan were excellent and left no trace behind. Highly recommend!

Recently bought a sectional from Sklar and it came today. From the purchasing process in house to the final move into my living room today, this experience has been flawless and exceptional. Julie helped us in the showroom and she's the best. The two young men that delivered the sectional today Floyd and Markus were friendly efficient conscientious and very professional. The whole teal will come highly recommended by me. Keep up the great work.

Everyone at Solar Home made our purchase easy, relaxed with no sales pressure. It took two visits for us to make our minds up on our purchase and Lyn and Val were awesome the whole time. Delivery was on time and Floyd and Nathan were kind and courteous.

We recently purchased a sectiinal frim the Ajax store. Today it was delivered by Floyd and Nathan. Their service was fantastic. They were very kind and took great care getting our sectional into our apartment, which was very difficult. They even offered advice on where it would be best placed in our space. Very nice guys.

Nathan an and Floyd delivered my furniture. They called ahead to let me know when they would arrive. They were respectful of my home and very polite. They assembled my furniture and took all the garbage away. They noticed an issue with my furniture and dealt with it on the spot. I was definitely pleased with their service.

The salesperson that helped us was patient, and seemed to know what we wanted by asking the right questions. I really appreciated that she knew when to give us advice, and when to leave us alone to ponder and think. The prices were also great.

We just had our Kennedy sectional delivered today. Floyd and Nathan did a great job setting everything up for us. They took all the paper and plastic wrap with them and left nothing behind. This was a pleasant surprise as other companies have left the wrapping behind. They were very neat and tidy.
We purchased the same sectional that is in the Ajax showroom, so no surprises, it’s exactly as we expected. This is our second sectional purchased from Sklar - we have another smaller one in our basement that’s still in good shape after 15 years! The sales persons Janet and Lynn were very helpful and knowledgeable about fabrics, measurements etc. We paid a bit extra for the white glove delivery which includes set up and so glad we opted for this additional service.

I went to Sklar to find a sectional and ended up going with a custom sectional. Julie assisted me (all four times that I visited), and was helpful throughout the entire process. I appreciated that she gave me space to think about my decision and wasn’t rushing to make a sale. She was patient and had great design recommendations. Overall I had a really great experience and that’s all thanks to Julie.

I had a great experience at Sklar Peppler. We needed a custom piece to fit in an odd-shaped room and the designer I worked with, Janet Kingsley, ensured that we got exactly what we wanted. She spent a lot of time with us, was upbeat and knowledgeable, and made great suggestions.
I also want to compliment the movers who delivered, and set up, the new furniture. The two men were professional and personable, and took the time to ensure that the furniture was positioned correctly.

Well the service and satisfaction ended soon after my first review. Chair was uncomfortable and missing a foot from the start and then it completely fell apart prior to Christmas (less than 4 months it lasted) the couch also is showing wear and tear. Ouch that is not the quality of product I thought I was getting

You will definitely need to ask for Janet in sales/design to help you plan your next new look/room. She gave such amazing attention to detail and was so concerend at how it would all fit into my house she even went the extra mile and talked with delivery, showed them pictures and measurements before she even had me commit to the sale. Jeff and Nathan were delivery people extrodiannaire. Make sure you ask for them! They worked very hard and were super creative in how the furniture would fit through my quirky old home doorways. I would recomment this crew to be the one you ask for and work with in store. You won't be disappointed.

It was a pleasant experience finding my mom's sofa and chair. The ladies that helped us listen to my mom's taste and wants and found the perfect set.

The service from the moment the delivery people came to my door until they left, was SUPERB! The men were professional, knew exactly how my recliner was to me set up and did so rapidly and with care. They showed me how to use it, asked if I had any questions and then left. It was a 10 out of 10 experience! I will return to Sklar Pepplar for future purchases.

I came to look while running errands. The warehouse is huge. Looking at 3 pieces of furniture. JANET at the Ajax warehouse is the BEST. She helped me with colours and textures. No pressure selling. This is a great store with a wonderful selection of custom orders, or 'as is' floor items. Excellent customer service. They allow you to browse without high pressure sales. When you need help, they are attentive and knowledgeable.

We purchased some furniture at Sklar Peppler in 2015. We wanted to have the foam replaced in our couch cushions. At first, my husband emailed customer service, twice, and received no response (hence the 4 stars). I called and Tara returned my call the same day. The email went into her junk file which is why we didn't get a response. I think the junk file should be checked regularly in case this happens (it was at least 3 weeks since the email was sent). Once I was able to speak to Tara she was very accommodating and was able to arrange for us to have the foam replaced at a good price. The weather and other circumstances caused some delay but the foam was eventually replaced and we are very happy with the result.

Excellent staff, friendly, informative, knowledgeable. Very nice to work with. We left very happy with our decisions/purchases. Thank you.

We purchased a sofa from Sklar Peppler at the end of January 2022. The experience has been great. The associates working at the store, particularly Priscilla have been friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I would recommend this store to anyone. One of the best customer service experiences we have had in a very long time. I know that their service is one of the reasons we bought from Sklar Peppler.

My wife and I purchased a sectional couch two years ago and for months after receiving it we had issues. The couch had gone back to the store multiple times for repair. After the third round we were offered a replacement couch at no cost to us where we could keep the initial couch until the new one was delivered. When we received the new couch unfortunately, there was new challenge. After working with Tara (customer service manager) and Helen (store manager) we were offered to select a different replacement couch at no additional cost.

I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the team (Tara, Helen and Precilla) at the Pickering Sklar Peppler store who have gone way above and beyond in making the entire process completely hassle free. Even though we have had a couple of challenges, we can not thank the team enough for the great professional customer service while working with us to come up with solutions collaboratively.

Amazing place! Great quality furniture, very friendly people, and they go above and beyond to make it right! We’ve purchased 3 sofas/sectionals from here. It takes a few weeks to get to you if you are getting something not in the warehouse due to custom construction but for something you will enjoy for years, it’s so worth the wait.

I purchased a beautiful leather sectional couch from sklar peppler. From the moment I stepped into the warehouse I was made to feel welcome, with no high pressure sales whatsoever. Priscilla help me with all my questions and the process very smooth. I was able to receive my delivery within two weeks when all other furniture stores we're quoting up to 16 weeks during COVID. The delivery came during the times specified. The delivery guys were prompt, polite, and very efficient. They set up the couch, put the pieces together and took all the plastic and cardboard out with them when they left. I highly recommend sklar peppler to anyone looking for an exceptional piece of furniture at a great price with fantastic customer service. I will be back!

I was a little surprised this place was not busier yesterday, mid day. Tons of furniture kin so many shapes, styles and colors. Many optional materials to match you decorating directions. We love Peppler. Current set needed updating because it's dated now 30+ years old. But I still love the old one and it's hard to part ways. Diana and associates helped us/me move on and selections made! Highly recommend Sklar Peppler for consideration in your next project.

Nice product but terrible sales staff and customer service. We dealt with Priscilla, she went on to tell us because they manufacture the furniture they are not having the same delays as other big box stores. 6 to 8 weeks and likely earlier. Boy were we suckers to believe this!
We ordered in August and received the first sofa Dec 5 and the second one Dec 19 because they only put half our order on the truck. The throw cushions finally arrived in January. Throughout the whole time we kept getting different stories on why our order was delayed by customer service.
We were inconvenienced because we were moving to a new house. They failed to deliver the product anywhere close to on time.
However, I cannot deny the quality so far and the reason for 3 stars instead of 1.

I would not buy a custom couch during Covid. I have been waiting months for my couch to arrive. First time it was the wrong colour, the next time the pillows were made wrong. I am still waiting on the pillows two months now. In total it had been 9 months waiting. The couch I was delivered was poorer quality than what I saw in store, probably due to Covid.

Lynn was very helpful and took the time I needed to make my selections. She even got the warehouse guy to come out and look at my drawing to make sure the furniture would fit down my stairs and into the basement. Lynn was patient and supportive when helping me select my colours for the couch, chair and ottoman. I have heard Sklar couches last a lifetime and I am super duper excited for my lovely furniture to arrive.
During the pandemic, the store adhered to the public health guidelines and I felt very safe shopping in the store.

Had great service and got a great deal on 2 swivel chairs for my living room. Great quality at a great price. I will shop at Sklar Peppler when I need other things.

My husband (his review 5 star review is below) We went in Friday and worked with Janet Kingsley ordering a sofa and an oversized chair set. Janet was absolutely awesome working with us! No pressure sales from the moment you walked in the showroom. Bernadette also chimed in when we were picking fabric. These two ladies are an amazing team! Honestly we felt like we were doing this with friends and they both were able to tune into our style perfectly.
We went back today as I wanted to see the sofa we ordered again just to be sure as I started to question my decision on style (not fabric). Again both of these ladies are absolutely amazing and very patient. I showed them a video of our space and they gave me some tips on furniture placement that solidified the deal!
Honestly I don’t think I’d go anywhere else and I don’t even have my furniture yet! Customer service is bang on! I left wishing I could get to know these two ladies better. So personable, friendly and they definitely are amazing interior designers. They know their stuff! I can’t wait to get my sofa set!

The sales experience was helpful, friendly and without any pressure, which is greatly appreciated. Can't wait to have my sofa delivered and to start enjoying it in my home.

Love the size of the warehouse in Ajax, lots to see which helps. The ability to touch and feel the fabrics, how comfortable they are, etc. Our sales rep Priscilla was good to deal with. However, I HAVE to point out how amazing our delivery guys were. They were very respectful of the house, watching out for the floors, walls, etc. They helped move out our old couches, and basically helped to setup the whole room. Rolled out the carpets, perfectly positioned the couches. It was amazing. The ONLY thing holding it back from a 5 star review was that we had to wait 9 weeks for the couches to arrive. We will be going back to Sklar Peppler at some point.

Amazing customer service. I came in there not even expecting to purchase a couch but I was redirected to a love seat that I had previously passed by. With a change in accessories I was sold. The sales associate (J) patiently waited while I indecisively circled the sales floor, twice, picking out throw pillows to go along with the couch.
The computer system went down midway through our visit but the ladies happily found a work around to ensure that I wouldn't have to make two trips back to the store.
Over all it was a great experience. Will be back to pick up a few more things!

If anyone is questioning whether or not to come here, do it! You absolutely cannot compare the quality of the furniture to any big box stores, nor can you expect this kind of laid back but helpful customer service from anywhere else!

I was very happy with our experience yesterday. We had a friendly, helpful representative assist us. We were happy with the sectional (both price and quality) she recommended for us.

Excellent staff took the time to go over the details and the options with me and encouraged me to try the fabrics at home before I chose. That really instilled solar confidence in me. I’m a fourth time repeat shopper and all for good reason.

I love the fact that there is no pressure sales here.the staff let you wander the store freely, but when you are ready for help they are more than helpful. They move furniture around for you if you find something you like better with a group setting and will give you their honest opinion if they think it goes together or not. We were in the store for about 4 hours trying to decide and they seemed quite fine with that because they want you happy with your purchase. Or in my case purchases. Thank you again for you assistance.

I am writing this for a family member that I was visiting over Thanksgiving who does not do any web posting. While visiting I noticed a few of the zippers on the couch had failed and I asked what was going on. I was told that they purchased the couch in October 2014 and recently a few of the zippers had failed.

I was told they contacted Sklar Peppler about it and the person they spoke with asked if a few photos could be sent in to customer service. They got the photos sent and did receive a call from Kathie in customer service who told the wife that there was nothing to be done; the couch was out of warranty.

When the husband called back to speak with Kathie he said he understood, but could they just fix the cushions and he would just pay for the repairs. He was told they don’t do that, he needed to find an upholsterer, or seamstress, to get the repairs done, that’s the best they could suggest, since their couches come from the US, not locally. He told me there was no helpfulness in her voice, no “we know your couch model and we can order in the zippers for you and send you to a factory associated repair shop who we know will do a good job for you. ” He was really surprised at the lack of empathy and willingness to help.

He said he was also asked if he ever took the covers off of the foam and he told Kathie a time or two when the Grandkids spilled food on the couch to gently launder them. She told him he shouldn’t have done that, the covers should only come off to replace the foam inside. He told me this was pretty dumb, why put a zipper if you can’t clean the covers once in a while as well. Also, he was never told this at purchase time.

He read some of the comments here and agrees with most of them, nice friendly staff, great selection and so forth. He also said he purchased from Sklar because he wanted a superior quality couch, his last couch was from Leons lasted 20 years and he was looking to beat that, but he said I guess not this time. If someone Sklar reads this the person’s initials are RM, Kathie should have his email from September with the photos. He wanted me to say to everyone beware after warranty you are on your own.

We were not really looking to get into a back and forth, but Ron says in good conscious, we cannot let your, as he put it, “wrongful statements” go without a response.

The part of your post that irks Ron the most is where you state he was offered to purchase new what you call casings, and he calls covers, but declined. ” This is untrue, never happened, no such offer was ever made or even mentioned. Period.

Ron’s wife say that when Kathie called she asked to speak with Ron and was informed he was not home and would it be possible for her to call back, as her husband was dealing with this matter, and not her. Kathie said she could not call back and informed her that the couch was out of warranty and they do not repair zippers to pass this message to Ron, that was it, nothing about new covers. Ron’s wife also says Kathie was brusque, to the point of rudeness.

A couple of thoughts Ron wanted to pass along to you. He only washed the covers 2-3 times in the five years and he followed the instructions that came with his Leon’s couch, since he was not provided with a “Care For” for sheet from Sklar. Zip the covers up after removing, gentle wash cycle, delicate dry cycle, do not fully dry, put back on while slightly damp. Also, he chose a heavy, dark grey colour, synthetic blend for the fabric used, as he has pets and lots of grandkids and wanted something strong, that would wear well, that would last for years. He, and I was well, think there most likely was a manufacturing defect in the zippers, as 3 gentle washes destroying a zipper seems unlikely. Plus, he says why are there no care for instructions on your website if your casings can’t stand up to a few washes, and clear warnings that doing so may ruin the casings.

Finally, you say you reached out to him, but he has heard nothing from you. Either by phone or email. I think you missed “ALWAYS” with them

I recently visited the store in Ajax and saw some pillows that I liked but didn't buy. I called the store a few days later and spoke to a very nice young lady named Shannon. I had taken a photo of the pillow and she asked me to text it to her. She contacted me later to say she only found one pillow (I needed two) but as the store was closing, she would look further the next day. She contacted me that day to say that she could not find a second pillow but would text me if she was able to find one. I have never met Shannon but she went out of her way to help me and I really appreciated it. It is sometimes difficult to get help when you are in a store but this kind of assistance over the phone was amazing! I was extremely impressed by the customer service I received from Shannon. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves. Well done Shannon!

Six years ago, I purchased a lovely chair and ottoman from Sklar, which I still love. A few weeks ago, I began my living room facelift journey. First thing.hardwood floors refinished (that is another wonderful review). Then, on recommendation from a few friends, I went to Lazy Boy. What a mistake. Long story, I walked out with high blood pressure, and disgust in their customer service. What was I thinking? Back to Sklar, of course. I connected with Janet, one of their designers. We had an instant connection. She came to my home and planning began. I knew I could trust her. She found EXACTLY what she suggested/agreed upon. And dressed up the sectional with some amazing accessory pieces (area rug, lamps, end table etc etc). I did some shopping at home sense for other accessories. I'd text her with pics and she'd give me a thumbs up or down! I sooooo needed this guidance. My furniture came on Tues; the fellas were on time and professional. Tonight I'm enjoying my 'new' home. I could not be happier with the service and professionalism from Janet and team. I will return soon.as my dining room needs Janet again:)

Went looking for a couple of chairs for my parents. Sales associate was very helpful and relaxed. Did not pressure us and just helped and needed. Found what we were looking for at a very reasonable price.

Our experience was positive from the beginning of our visit. Janet was immediately extremely helpful by making suggestions, helping us to carry chairs to work with the sofa etc.etc. It was a busy day for her but she acted like she had all the time in the world. Your front desk young lady was also very pleasant as was the shipping department. The two young men that came to deliver were exceptional and I would have wanted to adopt them.ha ha! Both were respectful, extremely careful, made sure everything was put together properly and took all garbage away.all the while carrying on pleasant conversation.
