I love this building because everything is organized and one thing I love most is that fact that no two units share kitchen unlike a building I been to all the tenants in each floor share one kitchen. Is a No for me.

I had the pleasure of living here from 2019-2020 and again from September 2022 to present.
During my first tenure, while the accommodations and building amenities are nothing but top notch, the Property Manager Christian was nothing but unprofessional. He was very rude and just overall, an ignorant person.
I was reluctant to rent with Skrtich Living again however, I heard from an former roommate that Christian was gone! When I inquired about re-renting with Skrtich Living for my second major at Brock, I was impressed from the start with the professionalism from Jessica and Mat. To this very day, nothing has took a bad turn with our tenant and landlord relationship.
I highly recommend renting here. Jessica and Mat were excellent to deal with.

Christian and Jessica have been really attentive and gracious landlords since I've been with Skrtich Living. Things are usually fixed in a timely manner, and the maintenance guys even helped me installed a canopy over my bed. Diplomatic when dealing with roommate issues, open-minded staff, and always showcasing kindness. In what could have been an headache living at Skrtich, the staff ensured that they keep up to their standard of luxury student living. Best residency I've ever had as a student!

From start to finish, my experience at the 29 Pine St S Skrtich Living building was nothing less than stellar. I moved in September of 2021 and moved out in April 2023 as my studies at Brock University concluded. Any time I had a maintenance issue or any request for that matter, Jessica was always available to assist. Even if something could not be repaired "right away" I was always kept updated. The building was very clean and the gym/study lounges were an added plus. I highly recommend Skrtich Living to any student looking for off-campus housing.

Great location, great building and good amenities. Jessica, Oscar and Brandon are all fantastic. They are very friendly and are always willing to help. The units are pretty spacious, and everything works properly. Having Skritch Living as landlords is very low stress. They are definetly NOT the people you hear about in the crazy landlord stories.

Skrtich is an awesome place to rent in Thorold. The staff is caring and everything gets fixed right away if broken.

I lived at Skrtich Living before and the experience was mediocre. At the time, Christen was my main contact, and he was not the nicest person to deal with, very rude. I was reluctant to go back to Skrtich Living this year but did because my friends had a room open within their unit. The new Skrtich Living reps, have been amazing. I can approach them about anything and not be scream at.

Pay a premium for PREMIUM ATTITUDE!
Stay in one of Skritch managed building if you like TROUBLE and multiple sleepless nights.
I stayed at one of Skrtich's managed properties for over a year, and it was all good and fairy tale until it ended.
When the complaints began, no efforts were made.
• Multiple people sharing a single room, even though it was clearly a fire hazard.
• Multiple Noise complaints
• People continue to smoke inside the room.
• Cleaning of common areas was advertised every two weeks, but I never saw any cleaning personnel in my unit.
• Gym equipment began to disappear; multiple complaints were made to check security footage; no action was taken.
• Took my refrigerator 3 months for a minor repair work
• Took Stove 2 months for them to replace a non-functioning stove.
The so-called Manager/Boss lady "JESSICA" always had an attitude and kept disrespecting me in emails after I complained about these issues. She even asked me to call the cops to deal with problems in the apartment; guess they are too busy playing ping pong in their office.
I strongly advise them to remove the word "management" from their title because they clearly are "ZERO" in managing their residents. A suitable title would with Skrtich “try to live” property.

Overall: Skrtich Living is a great option! I wish Google did half stars - 4.5 is my true rating! As a tenant for almost 2 years (23 months) at McArthur Lane, I can say it is a suitable place for upper year students or young people transitioning out of post-secondary school. With private ensuites that have lots of storage and lots of closet space, McArthur Lane offers significant privacy which was a major plus! I recommend the corner unit if you love natural light or plant life since it has 2 windows!
Staff: As for staff, Christian has been a pleasure to communicate with over the last couple months! He is a perfect match for the company and does an amazing job with property management. Christian has been doing excellent with roommate pairing to ensure comfort of all tenants and is super outgoing. Staff in general are friendly and receptive. If there was any complication, they were super flexible with me if I communicated well in advance. In addition, I love that they let you ship packages to the rental office to prevent package theft! Great idea and well organized.
Location: Perfect location for commuting to downtown, Brock, or the Pen Centre. The Thorold bus terminal hub is just 3 minutes away with multiple routes to every place! In addition, traffic noise is limited since the McArthur building is located on a one-direction lane sandwiched by buildings between the downtown core and Ormond (a busier street). It is also easy to access necessities such as groceries and a pharmacy with a shopping plaza a block away. Foodland can be expensive so a quick bus trip to the Zehrs at the Pen is a better go-to!
Cons: The three drawbacks are that it is not sound proof, the unit I lived in was coin-op laundry, and there is no green space. I've experienced "thumpers" in the unit above which can be annoying, especially if they enjoy parties that develop into early morning. As well, the noise your roommates make can travel. I was lucky to live with great people! Laundry can become pricey if you don't have a lot of clothes to rotate through and the machines are top loaders that aren't super gentle with clothes. The green space is limited with a patio and sometimes neglected garden on the side of the building. There are parks in the neighborhood if you seek them out as a solution. However, the significant majority of my time here was beyond enjoyable with no major complaints!
