While eating breakfast a man with a large black lab was seated with 3 other people who also had a large black lab. These were not guide dogs. Neither of the people appeared to need a service animal. More importantly the man with younger dog, I'd guess it was 8 months old, had it in his lap, hugging and kissing. Waitress came by and petted. Yes, it was an adorable dog. Friendly and happy to have attention. I would argue this is not the most healthy activity and may well violate a local and/or Regional By Law, if not some section of the Food Premises Regulation under the Health Protection and Promotions Act of Ontario. Regardless of the legality, this is something that a restaurant should not allow. Only does with legitimate need for a service animal should be accommodate.
And for the second time.breakfast was lightly warm. Clearly pre-prepared and kept warm until required to be served up. I complained the first time a week ago thinking it was a one-off. Can't be bothered to complaint a second time.
I come here 4 days a week minimum. They know us at this point and they never disappoint. Great home fries. Quick friendly service. Nice patio on a sunny day. I would recommend this diner to anyone.
With all the positive reviews, its disappointing having to leave this review. Let me start off by saying it's a very clean and beautiful atmosphere. We ordered, advised server of a allergy and asked to accommodate with providing a different sauce. Says no problem, dish Comes out covered in allergen. Sent back part of second dish as was not cooked. Bagel comes out cold, served with hard cold butter. Ask to speak with owner, voice opinion. Bagel and potatoes are tried to be rectified, allergen dishnis corrected. Owner says "things happen sometimes " blows off any concerns. Bagel comes out better, however potatoes were still hard and not cooked. When I tell owner Omlette was good, her response was "well we did something right " I understand things happen, however my biggest surprise was the lack of care of a dish being served with a allergen after being advised. If you want customers to continue coming, be sure not to cause them anaphylaxis.
Prices are great! But this is due to lack of flavour and poorly maintained flat tops. The food is cheap and fast for a reason. Service was horrible, not friendly at all and was ignored when leaving after telling one the servers "have a good day". Would not recommend. Many other great diners in the area!
This establishment and staff are first class in their customer service. They always go out of their way to be cordial, welcoming, and polite, but besides that, the variety of food is very tasty.
Not only do Skyway diner serve breakfast with seniors discount at specific times, but they also have an excellent lunch and dinner menu.
Went for the first time last Friday our server was Hanna and she was great! Very friendly and helpful with all the questions we had. She recommended the hamburger and fries for my husband and he was not disappointed. The atmosphere was very inviting not to noisy. We will be going back again to try the fish and chips this week and I can hardly wait.
So first looking at the restaurant from outside it doesn't look like it is open for business, we actually ended up finding it by accident we parked to go to McDonald's and then we saw the sign so we decided to walk to the front and sure it enough it was open. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, very attentive at all times, food came out fresh and hot. Definitely recommend if you stop by in Burlington. My son got ice cream for his birthday ️
Laid back and comfortable atmosphere. Staff was really friendly and attentive, even though they were busy. Food was just meh. Portions are small, but left feeling satisfied. If the food could be just a bit less soggy (cold greasy limp fries - clearly not clean fryers considering the sludge) and sad looking, it would be an easy 5
I barely ate my big breakfast. The bacon made me feel like I was eating cardboard, the potatoes were not seasoned and probably sat in oil. The breakfast sausage was under cooked and we're probably barely dropped in the fryer for the amount they needed to cook. I'm I'm chef and this is far the worst breakfast in Hamilton I've had. Only one worse. I will not be eating there again. Waste of money.
The food is absolutely AMAZING the portions aren’t small like usual breakfast type of places and it’s really good I would 100% recommend this to anyone who likes good quality breakfast/brunch places!
Trying Belgian Waffle for the first. Adding strawberry and chocolate chips. First bite, it was soft and fluffy inside and little crispy outside, this is exactly what I like. It was heavenly and highly recommend if you haven’t try or waffle lovers.
Won't be ordering from here again. Second time in a row they've decided to not include things on order. First time - No sauces included with meal, Second time ordered extra side of white toast - decided not to include despite marking "checked for accuracy".
I went on Saturday morning and the hostess who greeted us was so sweet and delightful! She recommended the chicken ceaser wraps and they were wonderful. Thanks to her my wife and I had a very pleasant experience. Server was amazing too. 5 stars.
I do like this place. It feels like a Family diner restaurant. So does expect that chain restaurant appel. The cost to proportion is really good value. The bottomless coffee is 5 star dinner coffee. The servers are the right balance of friendly and salty. Atmosphere is unassuming. Could be a good place for a coffee date/ catch up, breakfast, or a family dinner.
Good diner, dishes I've had all been great during breakfast lunch and dinner, open late for a diner too. Not overly expensive but not cheap either, most dishes tend to be from 17 to 20 dollars for lunch and dinner meals, breakfast is a bit cheaper, worth the money if you enjoy diner fare
