SmartStop Self Storage

Kassandra and Celeste are amazing when talking to them. However when trying to get further with management one never gets a call back. I’ve been trying to reach a manager for months regarding automatically charging for insurance with no notice (even tho my personal insurance covers locker storage). And Smartstop has been raising the rent of the locker every 6 months by almost $100.
I started off in November 2022 paying $273 - had to renegotiate 6 months later to get $340 after they were charging me $380 and now they have raised it as of Feb 1/24 to $446.
And I have yet to hear back from a senior manager since the middle of 2023 and doubt I’m going to hear back from one regarding this exorbitantly high increase.

Celeste was exceptional, customer service like this is uncommon these days. She is very knowledgeable and made sure that the process went smooth!

I rented a storage unit for a few days and I was very satisfied with the service. The unit was clean, spacious, and secure, and Celeste was very friendly and helpful.

I would strongly recommend her to assist you!

I wish i could give 0 star. I do not usually write a review but this company customer service is the worst ever. I have not got a refund for 3 month. I have to call every week for follow up. I requested a refund of 5*10 strorage in June 2023 but now last week of September. I have contacted customer service and the Milton local storage. They say only DM have a access and approve my refund. So I asked CS and local staffs to tell DM contact me for update. I have not got any call or email. Why do i need to waste my time to get my money back? Why the company is holding my money? The refund cheque is missing (i was told the cheque was sent from US but not arrived for 3 month) and i gave my credit card info for refund 3 weeks ago. However still nothing happened. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I cannot believe only DM have a access to my refund status in the company and the DM is not doing anything. It is so frustrating.

Celeste did a great job explaining the facility. She was knowledgeable and positive about her Company and very pleasant to deal with.

Covered in cobwebs and spiders and cocoons on every single exit except the large exits. SO gross, the unmaintained maintenance of the outside of the building just shows the lack if care of the business itself. They have intercoms all over but when I got turned around in there with the ridiculous floor letter guide that's in there and tried to utilize it no one responded, after repeated tries I finally gave up and just wandered till I found the large exit and left. Awful. Only good thing was lighting and the 24hours

Had a great experience with the service desk team which consisted of Cassandra and Celeste. They were very helpful in finding me a storage unit at an affordable price! Great start to our business dealings thanks SmartStorage.

Had an easy time doing the rental and moving in. Kassandra gave me the best unit size based on my needs. I will pass on your information to anyone who may need storage.

I am very happy to do business with them, the girls in the customer desk are the best, they are truly professional, good behaviour and willing to help even in the time of lunch.
When I reach it was their lunch time and we were waiting outside because it was their break time … but they left their food in the middle and opened the door to help us … now that’s 10/10 score.
In Future if I own and have a business, I would hire employees like them.

Never have I met a more bubbly person than kassandra. She gave me a tour of the facility which is clean, well maintained. The price was great, her personality just had me booked. She gave genuine concern and listened to me rant on even though it was close to her closing time. I can see why they don't have much units available. With kassandra hospitality you will definitely be fully booked soon. Hats off!

Prices are reasonable when I did the comparison. There are a few cheaper places but they were not clean like this one. The manager walked me through the process. 10/10 for me. The difference with the storage place for me was the customer service and appearance. The manager had me sold after her tour.

Nice, clean facility with easy access. However, the monthly rate increased repeatedly, doubling over 5 years.

I found the manager had quite an attitude and upon trying to cancel my unit, there was little to no help and I was charged the next month even after telling them three times I would like to cancel. I am beyond disappointed.

Moving and needed storage space. Called and spoke to the manager, Michelle McBride. She was very friendly, informative, and made the process simple and extremely easy. Visited the premises and it is very clean. Monthly payments with no hidden agendas. Would recommend for sure.

I have used this storage facility for a number of years and have experienced the staff to be very helpful, knowledgeable and courteous.
I have needed several units for my business and Michelle has always accommodated my needs. She is a pleasure to work with.
The facility is always clean and well maintained and have recommended it highly to a number of people.

When I first walked in to get a storage unit I was greeted with a fantastic smile and a friendly hello. Michelle was very helpful and answered all my questions. She even gave suggestions which I took and I am glad I did otherwise I would have gone with a smaller unit when I needed the larger one. After this move when I need a storage place again, I am coming back to Milton (530 Martin St) for sure.

I was going to rent a Bigger Unit at this place I reserved it online, I also went there to view my unit but when I was finalizing the unit, they gave it to someone else, its the worst experience of my life to get involve with such poor management, they don't get bother to inform me about it and they said that its busy time so its first come first serve, DONT TRUST THIER ONLINE BOOKINGS AND POLICIES

Smart Stop Self Storage in Milton is the best storage business close to Toronto, I have been using this place for 8 years and it is always clean, the staff is always fantastic, the price is super affordable, it is located just off 401, I definitely recommend this place ️

My overall experience with Milton SmartStop Self Storage is positive.

After mentioning in this review about there being something wrong with the elevator it was promptly fixed I thank the staff who made that happen. I recently just transferred over my unit into a bigger one twice the size of my unit I was able to get it done in one night and they called to confirm the old unit was cleared and to see if there was anything else I'd need help with. I had a lot of questions yesterday and the knowledgeable staff on site was able to answer them.
The facility is very bright and clean, and although you do receive a password that you cannot change the staff are more than happy to help you recover it if you forget. (Like myself)

I’ve been using SmartStop for the last 7 or 8 months and it’s been an incredible experience. Both times I had to visit the office I met Michelle who was so helpful and fun to work with. Thankful for this company.

Below is a very brief summary of my recent experience:

The air-conditioning unit was recently broken in the facility and they needed access to my unit. Unfortunately my unit was completely full from floor to ceiling so there wouldn't be any room for anybody to access the space in order to make any kind of repair.

According to management the situation was time sensitive. I wasn't given any reasonable options and as a result felt no other alternative but to move out of my unit at my own expense. The District Manager had exasperated the situation by emphasizing she needed access to the unit as soon as possible without providing me with any real solutions. It was clear that the priority was the unit and not the customer or my belongings.

I have subsequently escalated my recent experience to the District Manager in far greater detail who called me and said that moving out the unit was "my decision" and therefore they will not be providing any recourse regarding my recent experience.

I will never use Smart Stop again as it's clear that they do not value their customers or their experience.
